Its the second largest Shiva statue in the world. Its a must visit temple. The statue stands so tall and with such grace.Shiva is in a meditation pose. It feels so unreal when you first look at the statue, Its made so beautifully and very well maintained.Surrounded by the Arabian sea on three sides this is really a magnificent place. Gopuram is located near the statue,is around 18 floors and has two lifts to take us to the top floor to enjoy the entire panoramic view.Best time to visit is early morning or evening. there is a beach nearby where you can have an amazing evening. There is ample of space for parking. There is a variety of food options available nearby. There is also a hotel nearby if you plan to stay overnight. The view at night is all the more spectacular...

It is a wonderful place to be, and I need not say anything about why it's a great tourist spot. But a few tips: 1. To people who need a cloak room for their luggage, there is a very good locker room maintained by the temple inside the temple's compound, as of Dec 2021. 2. Inside the temple, don't miss the short cave trip, which explains the mythological importance of the place with nice sculptures. 3. Try not to visit the place during the afternoon. It's pretty hot throughout the year.

It was a great overall experience. You get the serenity of temple as well as amazing views. There is a huge gopuram at the entry of temple. It is not only majestic but is also fitted with a lift which offers bird eyes view of the locality and the statue. Although the tickets are priced nominally, it takes a lot of patience to get on a lift. There are only two lifts available and only 7-8 members are allowed at a time. Be sure to reach at least an hour before it closes, closes by 7pm if I recall right. Post this you can proceed to the statue and museum area. The way to reach there is outside the temple. You will have to step out of temple area and proceed from left hand side.

Nice place to visit. Massive Shiva statue and a temple nearby. Would never guess that this entire thing was built 2008 onwards. Has been given a vintage touch. Best to visit in the evening. Visit the temple and then take the lift to the 18th floor to view the sunset. Ample parking for cars, cheap hotels and restaurants nearby.

Very beautiful place, three sides surrounded by the sea. The Siva statue is very big and looking amazing. We reached there at 12 .30 pm it was too hot . evening is the best time to enjoy at the beach and temple premises. No need to remove shirt to enter into the temple . Free lunch providing by temple. The view from the top is very awesome.

It is a beautiful temple with very nice scenery around it. The temple is well maintained. The big Shiva idol can be reached after climbing some steps and has a cave your to tell the entire story. There are minimum tickets of 20/- and 10/. The proper over look can be taken from the tall temple structure of 18 floor by lift but it will be crowded. The beach is also nice with water sports like Scuba diving etc. There are many shops and hotels around. A must visit place.

WOW!! Absolutely WOW!! The tall statue of Lord Shiva sits in tranquility and it is a surreal feeling as you enter the temple itself. The beach on one side and this place of worship on the other takes you away from your daily strains and peace fills your mind and thoughts completely. It is something one must definitely experience. The beach is just a quick walk from the temple itself. And the grandeur of the statue and the gopuram only hits you once you see it from the beach, at a distance. The sea was itself in a great swell because of all the rain and it only added to the feelings that were evoked being there. Anyone going through the Western ghats must definitely visit this place simply to unwind after all the trekking. A beautiful place with a beautiful story.

I loved this place since my childhood... It is a great place with a meditation vibe. The entire architecture was fabulous. One of the finest and must visit place in Karnataka. This is nearby the seashore so a great view of lord Shiva can be portrayed. This place is always crowded so parking vehicles became a task. Also lots of locals are there selling products and photographers also available there. Must visit place ...🙏🏻

Late upload, was fortunate to visit the place before the lockdown, when it was still crowded. It's one of a kind experience, a must visit place, we went by road and the travel was really easy with well maintained roads (toll road). Holy place or not I am not the one to judge or comment, but for me it was calm, serene... We spent about half a day over there, visited the beach, curio shops by the beach overall a refreshing trip. Do not forget to visit the museum, it's worthwhile.

Now when we visited, we could find drastic improvement in the premises. Parking has been greatly improved. Vehicles can go up almost near the Shiva statue now. The museum entry fee is 20 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for kids (accepts cash only). Temple opening timings are from 06:00 am to 12 noon and 03:00 pm to 08:15 pm. The beach is quite crowded. So many adventure sports and activities are available there

This place is absolutely stunning, with the sea embracing three sides. The Siva statue stands magnificently, leaving us in awe. We arrived around 8 am, and the weather was simply marvelous. However, the morning and evenings are the perfect time to relish the beach and the temple surroundings. It's worth noting that there is no requirement to remove your shirt when entering the temple. Additionally, the temple generously provides free pradadam (12:30pm) for visitors. The view from the top is truly breathtaking, offering an incredible sight to behold.

The surroundings are well maintained, once you enter the premises there is a separate place to take care of luggage and sandals, which has to be paid for. Rs 5 per pair and Rs 30/bag for luggage. Try going to the 18th floor of the tower, which costs Rs 20 per head. The view from above is heaven on earth. I can't explain it in words, you have to feel it. Beaches are not clean, tourists litter. Please don't litter, keep the places clean, there are boating activities, please ask the counter for boating because on the board they mentioned more for example I tried speed boating for Rs 300 but on the board they mentioned 500 for speed boating.

The Murudeshwar Shiva statue is a marvel to behold, standing as the third-largest Shiva statue in the world. Its majestic and magnificent depiction captures Lord Shiva in a state of deep meditation. Set against the backdrop of the ocean, the statue creates a stunning visual spectacle that leaves visitors in awe. A visit to this iconic landmark is a must for anyone seeking spiritual solace or simply wanting to witness the grandeur of this masterpiece. Prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring presence of this larger-than-life tribute to Lord Shiva.

Murdeshwar Temple is like a magical place on the western coast of India. Imagine a super tall, 20-story tower at the entrance, all covered in beautiful carvings and bright colors. It's like a huge, colorful castle! Inside, there's a gigantic statue of Lord Shiva that looks out over the ocean. It's so huge that it's hard to believe. The temple is always kept super clean, and it feels really peaceful inside, like a special place for quiet thoughts. The best part is that the temple is right next to the beach. So, you can watch the sunset over the sea while hearing the temple's soothing songs. It's like a dream! I would tell all my friends to visit Murdeshwar Temple because it's a place where you can feel calm, see amazing art, and enjoy the beauty of the ocean all at once. It's like a magical adventure!

There is an artificial cave under the statue which has the story of the Murudeshwar temple depicted in sculptures. It’s a beautiful and must visit place between Mangalore and Goa journey. A nice view of the beach along with the temple. Very nice place located on the seashore. We can go to the top of the Gopuram which is basically the entrance of temple and lift is up to 18th floor and ticket is 20Rs per person. At top there are 3 windows from where you can enjoy the surrounding view.

It's a good place to visit.. But in the summer season it will be really hot & humid. This is situated on the costal regions of Arabian sea. When I have visited here on a Monday, it was very much crowded with all parking full.. Hence I was forced to park my vehicle on the roads and visited the temple after that. The securities at the temple are really rude & don't have any manners

Magnificent structure with its towering gopuram and the mesmerizing backdrop of the Arabian Sea. The main highlight is the enormous Shiva statue, which adds a unique charm to the temple. The coastal location enhances the spiritual experience, making it a serene place for devotees and tourists alike. The temple's upkeep and cleanliness contribute to a pleasant visit, offering a blend of religious significance and scenic beauty.

A magnificent temple of lord Shiva. Wonderful location. Amazing vibes. Feels great to be here at the temple surrounded by the sea. Lot of devotees visit here on daily basis. Good stay options are around. But the sea is dirty and so is the land area. People must keep this religious place clean and tidy.

Such. Divine place wish we had some more time to spend there and explore other places inside the temple but would recommend you to try spending some good time here. Parking is available. They have lift to climb and visit the gopura they do charge some amount for it. If you don’t want that you can directly enter the temple and visit inside. The sea shore is near by to the temple . Do visit if you are near the temple or if it is on the way for you during any other trip .

The impressive statue of Lord Shiva and its sheer size captivates everyone. The location of the temple is very strategic: 3 sides are covered with water and in the background there are beautiful coconut trees. Visiting this temple is so refreshing and divine.
