Disappointing stay. What should have been the most special night of the holiday turned out to be the exact opposite. The rooms are good, but calling to open the gate? Come on! The service was not as expected for the amount charged and the food was disappointing. We booked the all inc (breakfast and dinner) but the dinner didn’t hit the mark, some of the worst food we’ve had during our entire stay here. Oh, and it wasn’t included if it was above 200 Rand which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Overall the hotel gets a 4/5 for the room and stay. But our experience for what was supposed to be an amazing experience, this only deserves a 2/5, maybe even a 1/5 if I see what the amount that I paid got me elsewhere. Sleeping, yes, dining a big NO

Had an absolutely beautiful time at bucklers.booked a deluxe room which was well lit up,airy, really clean,and we had the most stunning view overlooking the Crocodile River.. we were lucky to see some lions from our room.staff were really friendly and welcoming..food was good but abit pricey tho..location is really good as it is close to the crocodile bridge enterance..overall..we truly loved it and hopefully will be back soon inshy..keep it up..

Great service from all the staff members, excellent location and the food is amazing. Conveniently located a few minutes from Crocodile gate which makes entry into the park easy. Daily, your treated to game on the footsteps of the buckler’s deck.

We loved our short stay at Bucklers. While it is a bit of a distance from Johannesburg, it's right next to Crocodile Bridge gate of the Kruger- literally a 3 minute drive. The staff are incredibly friendly and wonderfully helpful. I love that they greet you with a 'welcome home' every time you come in. The food was tasty, and a huge bonus is that it's halaal! While we didn't try the spa facilities, the prices were incredibly reasonable, and we will definitely do so next time. The game drive we booked was amazing- we even sighted some cheetah! All of that pales when you're sitting on the deck at the lodge at sunset, reading your favourite book. I'll definitely be back.

Had an amazing weekend with friends at the Lodge.The Lodge overlooks the Crocodile river, into the Kruger National Park and we witnessed a herd of elephants cooling off, a small hippo family and a lone crocodile from the deck by the river bank. Really felt welcomed as the team greets you with a big and friendly "Welcome home". The staff was amazing and friendly,the team went above and beyond for us. The lodge is a self-catering establishment and has a restaurant on site that caters for halal guests. A friend had a treatment at the spa and raved about the therapist. Ideal getaway for a quiet Bush experience.

If there was a 10/10, Bucklers would definitely be worthy. We were skeptical, to drive all that way from Jozi and be disappointed, and we were were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful surrounds with breathtaking views on the banks of the crocodile river. In between two access points to the Kruger, Malelane and Crocodile bridge. We had a deluxe room, that sleeps 2 adults, 2 young kids, very spacious, full kitchen basically, with amazing Wi-Fi service, big tasteful bathroom, comfy beds, balcony where you can just take in the fresh air and warmth. Nespresso machines in the rooms, fridge, stove, microwave, toaster and kettle, fully stocked with cutlery etc. They have a generator, so you are never left in the dark. The staff, all very accommodating and a great team. Sarah and the team, made us feel welcome. The food, all HALAAL, very impressive with a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, they also do room service YAY. The chef and his team are attentive to details and special instructions as well. It is right next to Ngwenya lodge in terms of location and well worth the drive. We were sorry not to have taken our passports, as they are very close to the Mozambique border at Komatipoort, we will be sure to do that on our next visit. It is quite an intimate place, with minimal amount of rooms, so no noise, the dining area is cosy and you tend to make friends with the guests and staff, it has the feeling of family almost. A home away from with great comforts. We will definitely be making this an annual visit, if not more. It is away from the city, so if you want to buy snacks, ciggies and the like, get it on your way there.

Amazing lodge. Rooms are extremely spacious and well appointed with state of the art appliances. Stunning views of Kruger. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Such a nice place to pop in and have a delicious coffee and meal, staff are super friendly, haven't stayed there yet.

Food was amazing, the wildlife experience is great and peacefully . Love the rooms and the fact tht they have kitchen for self catering.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings. The service from Staff was Top Notch. Rooms were modern and clean with usable appliances. Halaal Hotel so no alcohol but you fan bring your own, they are also happy to supply you with Ice. The Mushroom Alfredo was divine! The TBone steak was not a TBone but Chuck - disappointed, but it wasnt lacking in taste however. Would definitely recommend this lovely family friendly Hotel!

My partner and I booked our first baecation and this was the perfect place. Service was great. Food is good I feel the breakfast that comes included can be better. The rooms and lodge were very clean. Super happy that it is halal We will be back (:

We had a wonderful time at Bucklers African Lodge. The friendly staff catered to our every need. The 3 course meals were delicious. Late afternoons on the deck was our favorite time as we watched Elephant and Buffalo up close.

We were welcomed by the most friendly staff members. Upon arrival we asked about how setting up our braai would work and were told is gets done for us - incredible service! The food at the restaurant was delicious and the scene of dining with elephants grazing at our doorstep was unmatched!

Buckler’s is perfectly located a short drive outside the crocodile camp entrance to Kruger on the banks of crocodile river. What’s great: - the rooms are spacious with a large balcony/ sit out with outdoor furniture, great for game viewing - the staff are very friendly, they helped us out with watching EPL - they don’t serve alcohol but you can carry your own and enjoy them on their viewing deck - the viewing deck is great for sundowners and watching elephants, impalas, kudus, zebras and many species of birds - they have 3-4 vegetarian options and the food is really well made - they have a safe in case you want to safeguard your valuables when out for your Safari. Overall we felt very safe at the property The only thing I’d highlight is that the pictures of the pool on their page is very misleading. It’s a rather small pool and not exactly great chilling.

What an amazing weekend. Superb accommodation, out of this world food (you will need to reactivate your gym account), the staff are extremely hospitable and brilliant views of the Kruger.
