If you're in Hazyview, you absolutely must include an elephant interaction on your to-do list. The experience is so educational, the gentle giants are astounding up close and personal, you'll never forget nor regret it. The elephant handlers are so pleasant and knowledgeable, and make the interaction very personal, taking memorable photos and videos of your time together. Absolutely brilliant!

Amazing experience with Tembo and the group. A must visit for learning and interacting with the gentle giants of South-Africa. 10/ 10 to Debbie and her crew for being so helpful in educating their guests. Will definitly return to the sanctuary again...

Learned a lot about Elephants, you'll be surprised how little you know about these massive animals. You'll also get close to the elephant, feed them and get an opportunity to use voice commands on the Elephants. Other activities include walking with the Elephants and riding them. These guys really know the Elephants to the fullest extent and my mind was blown by the way they talk to the Elephants. I enjoyed my visit.

The staff is very nice and accommodating. We only stayed for an hr. and that was all we needed. We wanted to see the elephants and know about them close and personal, and that's what we got. We got a lot of information about elephants without feeling overwhelmed and yet felt we learn enough to make us feel comfortable that we didn't waste our money. When we didn't think we understood, there was always a staff close by who noticed us, then he would ask if we understood, and if not, he would repeat or explain. We all had a small interaction with the elephant and took pictures. Maybe I would have liked to see the elephants moving more freely and see how they were, but for that, I would have paid to go for a walk with them as most people did. That was our choice. So overall, we loved it and feel it was worth the experience. ❤️

This is an experience not to be missed! Having the opportunity to interact with these amazing, intelligent, and gentle giants is one we will never forget - it is hard to comprehend just how big an elephant can be until you get to stand next to a particularly large specimen. The team at Elephant Whispers is extremely knowledgeable and we learnt a great deal. Thank you.

A great experience... very educational and friendly staff. Worth every cent. The elephant ride isn't for every one, although it was a great day out with nature and some friendly giants

It was a great experience. We booked the half-day tour. We got a comprehensive insight into the daily life of an elephant, from waking up, mucking out the barn, cleaning elephants to elephant rides. Every single one of the staff was very caring, friendly and took their time. We enjoyed every moment, thank you for a great day that will be remembered for a very long time. Best regards, Stefan and Nadine

What an honour to meet Themba and his friends. The elephants are obviously well looked after and are all very happy. R550 per adult is too expensive for what we got but I know it’s not cheap feeding these behemoths. Some more feeding time with the elephants would be amazing. I think too much time and focus is spent on photos and videos of the elephants. Some interactions with the other elephants would also be special. This is definitely my second favourite elephant sanctuary. Thank you Elephant Whispers for an unforgettable experience and thank you, Themba, for reminding me how amazing, special and important you and your kind is on this earth we share together ❤️

They told us that we were supposed to get a picture on the elephant, but then they told us we couldn't, so it was 780 rand for just a few pics by the side...

I was honoured and priviledged to have a morning at Elephant Whispers gifted to me by my partner on 29 October 2023 for my birthday.. To say that I was racked with emotion would be an understatement - surprise, awe, disbelief, amazement and pure love, admiration and respect for these most majestic, beautiful and intelligent creatures.. Thembo, Andile, Shamwari, Lindiwe and Zizi, thank you for the joy you brought to our hearts, we will forever treasure the time we were able to spend with you.. Thembo, you truly are a patriarchal Ambassador for Elephant Whispers.. Your patience, obedience, showmanship and endearing personality touched our hearts deeply, thank you 🙏 Sincerest appreciation and heartfelt thank you's go to Kwagga and ALL the staff for the warm welcome and very interesting presentation, we gained so much knowledge and learned about so many unknown facts regarding our "Ellie" friends.. A truly memorable experience.. WE WILL BE BACK! Yours in friendship Billy and Genie

A really educational experience. It was amazing to learn the impact of elephant overpopulation within the Kruger National Park. These strong but gentle giants are well looked after. The experiences offered work with the elephants and are individualised to the elephants. Really great team, very knowledgeable and an overall great experience.

Amazing experience. Amazing staff. The elephants are very well taken care of and they show their extreme intelligence completely out of free will and trained through a positive snack reward system. Being rescued animals, they live safe and as close as possible to natural lives. Rather than being destroyed they now represent their species as educational ambassadors. A must see and a truly exhilarating and beautiful interaction.

It was an amazing and informative experience. Definitely one for your bucket list. And the effort they do to take photos of you with your phone is the best. They really care about giving you the best experience, capture the memory and their love for the elephants is awesome.

Incredible experience, they give each and every individual personal attention and everyone gets the full experience. Don't worry about photos and videos, they know how to operate all phones and take amazing videos and photos with your phone or camera as you go along.. They exceeded our expectations by far! All the guides are incredibly friendly and eager to give each person an unforgettable experience.

This place feels very calm and the setting is natural, the elephant interaction is informative and amazing, the staff even learned key words in Portuguese for the benefit of those tourists. We also did the elephant ride and it was beautiful. The animals are very calm and in tune with their handlers, the staff have been working here for ten years. If you go at 4pm you get lovely golden hour light on your ride.

What an amazing experience. Was enjoyed by the whole family (except the 1 year old) The team was fantastic and very patient, especially with those of us who were afraid of the elephants. Was worth every cent and definitely not something to miss if you are in the area.

  • 5/5 Kenny O. 2 years ago on Google
I had an amazing time here. This is one experience I'll always think about. Incredible. If you're ever visiting South Africa, this place is a MUST!!!!

  • 4/5 Hugh M. 2 years ago on Google
The elephant experience was great. Good learning opportunity great pictures and ride was a wonderful experience. I would not recommend going with the lunch as it is not to resturant as advertised and to a place with a limited menu. Webs site should be updated. The elphants portion was a 5 star.

👍👍 A lovely surprise and a great place to stop, either to consume your own coffee and food or purchase from them. They also rent out skottles and gas bottle. Friendly, efficient staff. Small curio shop and super clean ablution. Tables set out under the trees. Great concept!

😠 The state of the Park's facilities and public areas are absolutely disgusting. It's unkept and run down. NO maintenance and NO basic gardening seems to be the new motto. The gravel roads in the Park will soon be impassable. I'm ashamed to think what foreigners' idea of SA must be after visiting.
