Make Sure you Carry Cash , Credit Card Machine was not working due to poor signal. The Falls are very pretty but the Infrastructure is not being taken care of or being repaired. Would not take elderly people who battle to walk , Its not Wheelchair Friendly or Pram Friendly. Watch your ankles on the rocks. This place needs some attention and repairs .

Wonderful place just near to the main road🚀 easy to park or take some local hand made gift for tour relatives. The walking path is nice and easy to walk and the viewing platform is fantastic to watch the power of the waterfall. Enjoy it anytime🤩

Beautiful waterfalls, easily accessible, just takes 5 minutes walking from the parking area. The viewpoint is not optimum, especially due to the tall iron fence which has been installed. Even so, it is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Visited in December 2022. It's about a 2 minute walk downhill to get to the view point. On the way down there are 2 lookouts to an amazing view of the valley stretching out behind you. When you get to the falls you realize why so many people speak of it. It is stunning and the height is very intimidating because you look at it from the top. Parking: Security personnel Entrance fee: R16 p/person Safety: Seemed safe while we were there. Weather: Perfect view in rainy conditions

Stunning view even in the mist and rain. The lady at the gate was extremely friendly and even offered us her umbrella as we visited in light drizzle rain. I would recommend having cash on hand for the entry fees. The vendors are a bit in your face but some are nice

Saw 4 falls on the same day. This was the most disappointing. Seeing the views on the walkway leading up to the lookout was amazing, but the view of the falls through the palisade is very anticlimactic! Wish I could have been one of the hikers we saw at the bottom

Very beautiful sight to see, not quite what we expected tough - we paid R20 per person to go through the gate, they have a few stalls there with paintings and a few african traditional items for sale. We did a little walk along the trail over some rocky walk paths all the way down to the viewpoint for the waterfall. The paths are covered in rocks, please wear comfy walking shoes when you come here. We could see a bit of the gorge also along the pathway. The viewpoint has pallesades which you can look through at the waterfall. We turned around and followed another path that leads a bit upward and reached the main road... you could actually enter the premesis from there also, instead of paying to park to park at the parkinglot by the stalls. We made a turn at their public restrooms and saw another walkway. We went and had a look at it, but we had to climb ontop of massive rocks and could see the valley from there, but no trail, so we climbed back down and walked back to the parking. We are glad we made the stop to go see this waterfall.

Beautiful piece of nature. Very popular.would be great if a coffee shop or food truck was on site where one could just sit back and enjoy the view. A hike to the bottom of ghe waterfall would of made it a perfect visit.

Absolutely stunning view! If you're in the area, in the vicinityof God's Window and Burks Luck Potholes, just make the short trip to Mac-Mac Falls, take not a 10 minute walk down to the viewing platform and be be greeted with one one the most beautiful sceneries known in South Africa. I guarantee you it's worth it year round.

During a recent visit to the are my wife and I visited this site. The parking area is large and safe. The path from the parking area and the falls is well marked but is in dire need of maintenance. Some of the post are ruste off at the base and can be a danger to visitors. The lookout point is in a very good spot with a good view of both the falls and the gorge. To ensure the continued safety of visitors the steelwork of the safety screen will need to be maintained more regularly. (currently not a serious problem) I fantastic view - worth a visit

The falls is breath taking. It is safe also. By far, their souvenir shops is the most inexpensive compared to other places. You should buy there. If you want new experience, you can also walk across the other side of the road and enjoy the array of trees.

Powerful waterfall indeed! I stumbled upon Mac Mac falls while going for a drive and was thoroughly impressed. The security is super friendly and the market at the entrance has all sorts of souvenirs that one can buy. The waterfall itself is amazing to look at and one cannot help but wonder what it feels like to stand at the bottom. Please stop by here!

There are a number of must see, beautiful waterfalls on the Panorama Route, but for me, Mac Mac Falls is the most spectacular. It is a sight to behold. Even the fence at the viewpoint which makes an unobstructed view of the waterfall impossible didn't detract from how truly beautiful this sight it. I visited twice, as the first time it was overcast, and on both occasions there was no queues to get in a and very view visitors (maybe I was just lucky though). The stalls at the car park where locals sell their goods also stock a number of nice items. A definite must if you are in the area.

This sighting of the falls is on government land, entrance is R20 per person. There are a couple of stalls from the locals selling arts and crafts. Then you walk along a path on top of the mountain with a couple of view points of the canyon and eventually the falls at the end of the path.

The place is great for a quick stop to experience a waterfall, there view point is very small and there isn't really much to the place then the waterfall. Great thing is the trail to the view point is not that long and it's very clear and well maintained. Loved the place, it was drizzling and cloudy on the day as well the sound of the waterfall and the mist at the bottom was amazing.

Affordable entry fees, you can buy sculptures for your house decor, and get to view the beautiful waterfall. From the view point, the waterfall is relatively far. You stand on a very high platform for taking pictures.. bring along a drone.

The viewing platform, walkway and parking area could do with a revamp. Viewing these falls is never disappointing though 👌🏽

A short easy walk takes you to the Mac Mac falls, entry fee is R20 per person. There are clean toilets here and also a number of people selling various local souvenirs.

A long walk from the parking lot to the view point. The falls are beautiful but disappointing that you can only take pics from a distance away through a palisade fence.

Amazing waterfall, small 500m walk, the route can be slippery. Verify your entrance fee with the lady at the front as she double charged us.

This was a unplanned visit, Lovely place to see an amazing waterfall. You walk a bit but it's all worth it when you see and hear the sound of the waterfall. The road is a bit Rocky and may be slippery when wet. Wear good shoes.

Waterfall is running nicely after all the rain. Money for entry can just be applied to keep pathways and fence in good shape. The public toilets is also in a mess. Do same maintenance and more people will visit these sites. Use to be a good experience but not now anymore.

Beautiful waterfall with quite an I.pressive drop. Definitely worth seeing. The falls can be reached by an easy to navigate path. It is unfortunate that the viewing platform has very high palisade fencing causing visitors to peer between the gaps and take a risk by sticking their cameras out o er the edge. Of course safety comes first and the platform is angled in such a way that you can have an unimpeded view if you stand close enough. R16 gets you in the gate and if you are in the market for african art there is a small market in the parking area.

  • 4/5 Chané 10 months ago on Google
The viewing section is tiny. Unfortunately if it's crowded you won't be able to actually take some time to enjoy the waterfall (also there are no chairs). There's a ton of people constantly coming in and out of a small viewing space. Definitely more of 10 minute excursion than a day or even morning outing so don't expect to spend more than 30min on the premises. Absolutely stunning waterfall, worth the pop in and cost, R30 for 2 people. There's also a market so definitely bring some extra cash to support the local artists.

Gorgeous! It’s quite the hidden gem, honestly. Worth definitely stopping over if you’re in the area.

The place is quite good.. Nature at it best. But you only view the water falls from a distance.

One of the biggest waterfalls in the region. The advantage is that the parking lot is next to the panorama route and the short footpath could be accomplished in approx 5 minutes. There are also locals selling there goods and a toilet. The disadvantage is, that you can only see the fall from far away and there is a metal fence blocking a part of the nice view. Also the footpath is in direkt sunlight. The entrance fee is 16 rand in 2022.

Stunning waterfall. Pity the palisades ruin the full view. There can be improvements done on certain points to view the waterfall. The price is fair at R16pp. They do take cards.

  • 4/5 Marius F. 2 years ago on Google
Also a beautifull waterfall especiallt this time of year. R 15.00 per person above 6 years of age is very expensive considering your are just going to view a waterfall and then move on to the next one.

  • 3/5 Nyandala R. 2 years ago on Google
Slightly disappointed by the place, not much to see nor do. The falls are quite far from the viewing spot, you have to look at them through a fence

  • 3/5 Lindie B. 1 year ago on Google
If you don’t pack binoculars you won’t be able to see much over the huge metal fence. A bit of a waste of money when the Mac Mac Pools and Bridal veil waterfall is so much more worth it.
