I want to start this review off by saying that the staff are impeccable, they were extremely friendly and attentive even though we arrived rather close to closing time. The restaurant inside was beautiful and elegant, I especially loved that they had some historical information for guests to read like the wooden counter/booth in the front. Truly a lovely and sophisticated atmosphere. The menu was a bit confusing, and we felt there weren’t many options but that’s our opinion. The food was rather good, we ordered meat baskets and a fish basket. The onion rings had too much dough on(almost thought they were crumbed mushrooms). The chicken wings were super small. However it should be noted that we were seven people that arrived a half hour before the kitchen closed which could explain this. The baskets are a teensy bit overpriced and the drinks are expensive but overall I’d definitely recommend coming here to grab a bite to eat. I’ll update my review as soon as we visit in the daytime.

Great restaurant at Ngwenya Lodge with an unforgettable view of the Crocodile River and Kruger Park border. Sunsets are for free. Friendly service. My husband enjoyed his chicken schnitzel. I ordered Hawaiian pizza. Disappointed that the pizza was made with cheddar cheese. Would prefer mozzarella cheese and the taste of Italian herbs. Enjoyed the Douglas Green Vineyard Friends Pinotage on offer. Overall, a good option if one is not in the mood to braai or dine in.

Lunch at this restaurant is a treat for the senses. With a stunning view of the Crocodile river, it's a picturesque setting that enhances the dining experience. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, a true feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by Joyce, our attentive waitress. Her warmth and professionalism added a special touch to our meal, making us feel truly valued. If you're looking for a lunch spot that combines amazing views, delectable food, and great service, this place certainly checks all the boxes.

Great food awesome view of the kruger and the river.. magnificent cocktails and smiles all around. The food is to die for. And an outside pizza oven makes the ambiance of wood fire worth a slice..

Awesome views and clean seating, unfortunatly the food was very basic and not that tasty, ordered pizza, sandwhiches and chicken livers, all very bland and took more than an hour and a half to be prepared. Waiters were not the friendliest and got our drink orders wrong twice.

The food is AMAZING!!!!!! We had the most delicious potjie and then pizzas the following evening. I'll absolutely drive all the way from Malelane just for the food. The service, not so good. Seems like you are understaffed. Almost every table had to seek out service, be it to get a menu, have orders taken, or getting the bill and paying. The staff are friendly, yes, but definitely not enough of them.

You can't go wrong here. Situated right on the banks of the crocodile river across from the Kruger national park. Sipping a cocktail at sunset is nothing more than pure bliss

There is a huge improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of this restaurant. Sunday buffet lunch is tops. Wonderful selection of dishes with high quality ingredients. The pizzas are also very good! The location on a terrace next to the Crocodile River is superb. The service was excellent if you are relaxed.

A wonderful spot to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with magnificent views of the Crocodile river! It’s open to both lodge residents and external visitors, although it’s advisable to call and book if you’re not from the lodge. The pizzas were delicious and our waitress was super friendly and hospitable. I was impressed to see mocktails on the menu, however, they tasted like concentrated fruit juice. The service was also slow (but the views pacified the wait)

The restaurant has a beautiful view outside overlooking the Kruger National Park. The food was delicious and service by Happy was excellent.

Amazing view with terrible service. Had to go order my food and drinks myself not once but twice as the waiter will only be seen every 30 mins. Not sure why they have waiters? Food was amazing once it arrived. 5 star restaurant. 0 star service.

Booked a table for Thursday 8 June. On arrival at 18h15 most of the buffet was already taken and there was no plan to replenish product. We had to eat from the a la carte menu. Once we eventually received our orders the food was good. Poor management spoilt the evening for us.

Wonderful deck overlooking the crocodile River. Being languished with generous and interesting cocktails on just relaxes wile taking the occasional sip and watch the sun shyly retract as it sinks behind the lush bush.....leaving in its wake a glorious palette of dusty, swirling sky flames precisely blended and entangled with the dougy, fluffy clouds......breathtakingly beautiful.

Service was good...but the food was definitely below average. Pizza was bland, T-Bone was disappointing. The restaurant has a great location and potential, but probably needs to be managed better. It has a captive audience, and this can lead to complacency!

Christmas lunch - some staff had no idea what they were serving. The only traditional food was gammon and Christmas pudding. The rest was every day food, beef strogonoff, babobti, plus tasteless vegetables. The temp was 39 degrees but most ceiling fans were out of order and same with air conditioners which makes it difficult to enjoy the food which was cold anyway. Limited parking available. Not a pleasant experience.

The food is good but the service is dreadful at times. Service here is a hit or a miss, sometimes the waiters are on top of things and are excellent but other times it feels like there are no staff at all. There is no consistency. The only thing that is consistent is the inconsistent menu.

This could be great. The location is perfect. They have a captive audience who would gladly spend more time and money at this establishment.....but the service and pretty average food lets it down. Could be so much better if only someone cared....

Very pleasant surroundings, liked the venue service was a bit slow and the menu is limited

Don't go, don't do it... We had the displeasure of having the Christmas lunch buffet, the only edible food had ingredients they only had to open not prepare. Starter was a plain ordinary salad with pickled fish. Mains were semi cooked Gammon, dry chicken or some sort of goulash. Vegetables were raw and tasteless. Puddings which by this time we were starving were terrible too. This cost R380 per person and I can honestly say was the the worst food and unashamed ripoff I have experienced in years. Very few of our large party finished even single plate.
