One of the most untouched and virgin sea beach 🏖️ one can't afford to miss! Do visit this serene sea beach once in a lifetime whenever you are close to Kakatpur town. Don't forget to pay a visit at Maa Sarala Temple. The beach is named as Pir Jahania Beach located close to Pir Temple (Mosque) at Astarang. You will find fisheries and prawn cultivation on the way to beach. Ganga Devi Tourist spot is also nearby with accommodation facilities by OTDC. The place is very famous for family picnic and youngsters. The place has water facility and the shops also provide gas, utensils, etc. on rent for a hassle-free picnic experience. You may also spot monitor lizard and jackal in the nearby forest.

Good place for Picnic. We had a college picnic from CET Bhubaneswar during 2007-2008. Clean Beach with not very deep water near the shore. Lots of trees around that provide cool shade for resting, cooking, games and other activities. Few fishing boats can be found. The road to reach there was not very wide when we visited. Don't know how it is now however. many sea shells can be found on the sea shore. Occasional crabs, small fishes, turtle shells can also be seen. It has grown popular among college students as a picnic spot. Named after a Saint, it is a naturally developed place for leisure and relaxing. Hope people don't pollute it.

Had a visit on 1st January.. The place is good as the beach is very clean and its the best picnic spot.. But people need to respect the place because of the sufi shrine location just near the beach..

The Shrine of Pir Mukudan Jahania Jahagast a Muslim saint, is located near Astarang on the Beach. According to tradition in the 16th Century the Muslim saint with his disciples came to India from Baghadad and after staying in Bengal he came to Odisha . He visited many places & finally he settled down near Astarang .Both Hindus & Muslims offer worship at the shrine. It is also a Beautiful Picnic spot.

The beach is so dirty...Not properly maintained. Not any facilities for sitting. Govt should aware of these. Take necessary steps towards improving tourism and in other aspects.

Awesome beach to have a mesmerizing rememberable picnic. You can enjoy the beach and the place till your time permits.you can have a place for gathering. Wide variety of places are available. Vehicle parking systems are also available. But it may charge you some Rupees(₹). You can have a bus ,car, bike or any type of vehicles. For four wheeler ₹50, for 3 wheeler ₹40, for 2 wheeler ₹20 i.e for bikes and for cycle it is ₹ 10 only. Nothing is required to take from home. Everything is available there whatever is required for the picnic i.e utensils ,gas- stroves, gas cylinders, chicken counters etc. You may have home made Chula with sticks that is also available there. Wide variety of shops are also available there. There are nearly more than 30 shops. You can have a dj box for enjoying the party and also for any type of outdoor games i.e cricket or bad-mitton or etc. There are two temples. One is pir jahania and 2nd one is Sai temple worshiped by both Hindus and Muslims. You can have also drinks. Govt. authorized people may charge you upto ₹50 for cleaning services in picnic area. Police are also provided in the beach for guidance to the people. There are preservation for tortoise eggs. There are enough sand space for the beach. The colour of the sunset in the beach is mesmerizing. That is why the city named as "Astaranga" You can take a bath in the beach, but deep bathing is prohibited because of frequent creation of current in the water. It's a big place. Good place to spend a day with a picnic party and cooking in the woods. Make sure to carry a pair of swimming dress if you love sea. However be cautious and don't risk yourself while swimming. There is no rescue team available. The beach is beautiful but needs to be maintained.

Pir Jahania is a beautiful beach and picnic spot for Tourist, where it flows into coast of Bay of Bengal. It is located in 6kms away from Astaranga in the puri district of Odisha. Near the beach the famous shrine of Pir Jahania is situated. That temple does not follow any religion, both Hindu and Muslims comes to this for taking blessings of Pir jahania.

A picnic spot near the Sea. Good place to have a break. Just 2 hrs 15 mins from Bhubaneswar via Astarang and Kakatpur. The spot is famous for picnic and the Sea adds to the beauty of the place. Only professional swimmers are allowed to take bath in the sea as the current of the sea is very high (kids n non swimmers are advised to stay away from the sea). The place is full of bushes/ trees where come spaces are there for organizing picnic. Nearby also the villagers can arrange gas/ utensils/ tent/ plus good good. Must try this spot. Beautiful place. Only problem is there is a single road where only one car can pass as it goes through the village. So need to drive carefully via this road which is just 2 to 3 kms. Enjoy ☺️

One of the best place for picnic.Nice Sea Beach. For family travellers its advised to not stay after evening as there is no sufficient lighting and Roads are not so good.

A good picnic spot for Cuttack and Bhubaneswar peoples. Neat and clean beach, Pindi are available for picnic party. But you have to book it beforehand to get a good spot. Shops are there which provides utensils, chairs and other requirements on rent for picnic party so need to carry it from your place. The phir place is holy and person of all religions come here without inhibition

You can visit the place if you want to spend some alone time at a beach side. Not much crowded as Puri beach and you can also find snacks shop to carry with you and enjoy sunset.

Nice beach where dargah of Pir Jahania is located. Worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. Not very crowded. Good place to spend time with family and friends.. People come here for picnic.
