It is a peaceful place. You can spend sometime here if you are looking for relaxation. In the compound, Hanuman temple was the most quiet and relaxing place. The place had some nice views during sunset. People can spend 1 to 2 hour here. The temple has dedicated parking

Amidst famous trio Anegudde, Dharmastala & Kukke, this beautiful Kadri Temple is not getting the attention it should. Only localites visit often. It's one of the most beautiful and unique temple . It has all Dieties, including Lord Hanuman Statue uphill. There are beautiful 7 ponds/lakes originating from Ghomukha. Also there's a Shivlinga you can worship yourself. It's unique and beautiful. Devotees take tender coconut to perform abhisheka. Don't miss to visit this temple. (It's said that Darmastala Manjunatha was sourced/taken from this Kadri Manjunatha. So it's said this is more powerful)

This is a beautiful temple campus in the heart of Mangalore. In addition to beautiful temples, you'll also find the ponds, Kashi Bagirathi Teertha which keeps flowing 365 days, a long walk up to the Pandava Cave. Great place to get spiritually energized.

We went to this temple when it was closed. And we didn't had time to wait till evening so we had to leave. But it's a must visit temple, being the oldest temple in the town. Its famous for its 7 kund's which believe to carry water from 7 different rivers. People go there to take a holy bath there. There is a small temple where there is continuous flow of water from the mouth of Lord Nandi which is called Gomukha. Its is believed that the water flow from the Bhagirathi River in Kashi hence its called Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha

The temple also has tanks with natural springs and laterite caves also known as the Pandava Caves. The main deity is Lord Manjunatha, one of the other names of Lord Shiva. There are idols of other gods such as Ganesha, Annappa, and Kanyakumari etc. The idol is covered with gold plate For men the dress code is Shirt & Trouser, Dhoti or Pyjamas with upper cloth. For women the preferred dress code is saree or half-saree with blouse or chudidhar with pyjama and upper cloth.

It is believed that Parashurama who was living in Sahyadri, killed the Kshatriyas who were cruel and donated the lands to Kashyapa. He prayed to Lord Shiva for a place to live. Lord Shiva assured Parashurama that if he performed a penance at Kadali Kshethra, Lord Shiva would reincarnate as Manjunatha for the betterment of the world. As per Shiva's orders Parashurama threw his axe into the sea and created a place for his penance. Yielding to Parashurama's prayers Lord Shiva appeared to him as Manjunatha with Goddess Parvathi and stayed at Kadri for the betterment of the world. As per the orders of Manjunatha the Sapthakoti Manthras become the seven Theerthas.

Kadri Manjunath Temple  is located at Kadri hills in Mangalore .It is said to have been built during the 10th or 11th century. During the 14th century it was transformed to a complete stone structure. The temple Lord Manjunathaswamy idol is considered the oldest of the temples in South India. There are a number of water reservoirs at a height right in front of the temple. There is a garden which surrounds the ponds. When one walks down from there, there is a huge light pole in front of the temple. Here deepothsava is held during karthika maasa. The temple features statues of Machendranath, Gorakanath, Shringinath, Lokeshwara, Manjushri, and Buddha.

A temple in middle of busy streets of Mangluru. Yes surprisingly, but the calmness offered here is unbelievable. The entrance has beautiful structure after which the temple is located inside in square area. Many devotees can be seen as early as 8 am taking holy bath in the kund. The temple has many antique touches to it. Don't forget to visit the Hanuman statue after climbing the steps

One of the oldest temple in Mangalore built around 10 AD and the must visit temple. The main deity of this temple is Manjunatha. You can even find ganapathy and devi temple here. There is a natural spring at high location at the back of the temple. It is called Gomukha. It is believed that the water flows from Bhageerathi river, in Kashi and thereby it gets its name as Kashi Bhageerathi theertha. The water from this spring flows to nine ponds. If you still climb up you will find hanuman temple and a big Hanuman statue. And then once you come down you can go to Swamy Aiyappa temple.

One of the oldest temple of Shiva and is directly connected with Dharmasthala temple Shiva linga.. This temple has 7 ponds that are considered special and a pure water that flows from Ganesha gudi and its origin is not properly known, Devotees are allowed to carry water from this water flow using steel bowl available there to pour on another special linga nearby which gives different spiritual experience if we get in to it🙏 There is Ganesh gudi subramanya gudi and durga Parameshwari gudi separately within the premises of the temple and Hanuman statue making this temple one of the largest temple of the mangaluru city. There is anna prasada service offered after maha mangalarathi in the afternoon 12pm everyday. Good thing is ponds cleanliness is secured by guards here which is essential. Devotees looking to have seva ticket purchase should make sure to have cash as there is no other payment method and ATM is available just outside temple premises. Overall its a great spiritual experience one can have visiting to this temple.

Kadri Manjunath Temple is one of the must visit places in Mangalore. The chief deity of this temple is Manjunatha. It's one of the oldest temple in Mangalore. Visiting during lunch time won't be ideal because long rush will be there. There is a natural spring at the back of the temple. The water from this spring is let into nine ponds of different sizes adjacent to it. Devotees can bathe in that. Usually many youngsters visit just for swimming and jumping on ponds. Kadri temple does give Anna daana (prasada lunch) for devotees. Usually there will be a long queue for that. Students from nearby schools come to have lunch there.

Visited this place for the first time. This seems to be an ancient auspicious temple and the deity is Lord Manjunatha. Good positive vibes in the temple. There are holy ponds where devotees can take a dip. There is a Shiva lingam and you are allowed to put water over it and this was amazing experience. The temple is well maintained and there is good parking space also available. On Namah Shivaya 🙌

The Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple is India's a beautiful and historic temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple's stunning architecture, intricate carvings, and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in spirituality or history. The bronze statue of Lord Shiva inside the temple is particularly impressive and is considered one of the finest examples of South Indian bronze sculpture. This temple is dedicated to Lord Manjunatha, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. There are holy ponds where devotees can take a dip. Inside this temple there are several other temples like Ganesha Temple, Bhairvnatha Temple, Satyanarayan Temple, Gorakshnatha Temple, Hanuman Temple etc. There is a cave on the hill top where it's believed Pandavas had been hiding during their Agyathavasa. The temple's annual festival of Shivaratri is also a major attraction, drawing devotees from all over the country. Overall, the Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple is a magnificent place to connect with the divine and experience the rich cultural heritage of India.

Good place of worship. The atmosphere is calm and peace. The temple of Manjunatheshwara on the hills of Kadri is said to be built during the 10th or 11th century. It was converted to a complete stone structure during the 14th century. The bronze (panchlauha) idol of Lokeshwar (identified as Brahma), about 5 feet high, of the temple is called as oldest of the South Indian temples. It has an inscription dated 968 A.D. (or 1068 A.D.), engraved on the pedestal. The inscription states that King Kundavarma of the Alupa Dynasty installed the Lokeshwara idol in Kadarika Vihara. It mentions Mangalore as "Mangalapura". The image has three faces and six arms, and holds and hold flowers in two of the arms. The crown depicts a Dhyani Buddha. The image has an ornate prabhavali, and two attendants. It is very well preserved with enameled eyes. There exist two other undated bronze images of similar craftsmanship, one of them is identifiable as an Avalokiteshwar (called Narayana) and other as Buddha (called Vedavyasa). Another stone inscription in Tulu,Kannada and Malayalam scripts of 12-13th century A.D., in temple's kitchen, states that the ruler and the local landlords contributed land for the temple. A 1730 AD text Kadli Manjunath Mahatmyam gives an account of the association with Natha Mantha.

The temple complex is large and there's a pond within the premises. The temple architecture is marvelous as well. The temple is located amidst the nature and provides peace within. Amazing place. Being a shiv bhakt, everything about this temple sounded as if Mahadev himself was calling me. It is wide and beautiful. There will be a little trekking so if you are something who gets irritated by carrying things, it is best recommended to wear comfy clothes, carry less things, you can take the water from outside shops. So you don't have to carry the weights of water bottles. You get food here. Amazing, fresh, and got food. Make sure to attend the arti, it is one of the best. Enjoy this place to the fullest. Absorb positive energy. Har Har Mahadev.💙

Wonderful and very well built temple in a vast area. Situated in the midst of Mangalore. There are many temples in this campus along with the 7 ponds where people do come for Kalash snana and it's indeed a transcendental experience of my life getting a Kalash snana for myself. There's a Ganapati temple besides the 7 ponds where there's an origin of Tirtha dhara from Gomukha, taking it on my head after the snana was one of the best spiritual experiences of my life. Furthermore there's a Mahadeva temple, right above it and on the way to the top you'll reach up to Hanuman temple. There's a newly built Yogeshwar mutt on the top of the hill and beautifully built temples and well maintained infrastructure to reach there too. A must visit temple for a Hindu believer.😇❤️

Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple in Mangalore is more than 1000 years old. Though the Temple is in the busy city it maintains utmost calmness as soon as one enters. Big temple. Seven Holy Ponds on the elevated place where devotees take a holy dip. There is a Gomukh at a natural elevated place at the back side of the temple where water pours out. Devotees can perform abishak to Lord Chandramouleeswara Shiv Ling with the natural spring water from Gomukh.
