Ghattu
(hill/shore)
Maisamma
(god
name)
Jatara
(festival)
is
celebrated
every
year
and
becoming
very
famous
each
year
🕉️
1)
On
the
festival
day,
people
from
the
nearby
villages
worship
the
goddess.
In
recent
years,
even
people
from
the
city
are
visiting
the
temple.
So,
there's
a
lot
of
rush
on
this
day.
2)
Shrine
is
adjacent
to
the
NH
163.
Police
monitor
the
place
on
the
festival
day
to
avoid
violences
(if
any)
and
traffic
police
help
people
to
cross
the
NH
due
safely.
3)
Parking
facility
is
provided
for
cars
&
bikes
during
this
day.
4)
Locals
prepare
Bonam
(pot
containing
rice
cooked
with
jaggery)
at
their
homes
and
present
it
to
the
godess.
Also,
various
animals
like
goats,
sheeps,
chicken
are
sacrificed
to
the
godess
as
part
of
the
rituals.
5)
Lot
of
Tents
can
be
seen
around
the
shrine
as
people
cook
the
slaughtered
meat,
rice.
They
prefer
to
cook
and
eat
there
itself.
6)
Goddess
resides
inside
two
big
rocks.
We
need
to
climb
the
rock
through
stairs.
7)
There's
a
temple
with
the
same
godess
before
entering
into
the
main
rocks
where
the
actual
diety
was
established.
8)
I
haven't
posted
the
actual
diety
pic
as
it
might
affect
the
sentiments
of
few
sections
of
the
people.
Worshipping
the
godess
directly
gives
immense
peace
and
great
feeling.
9)
Vehicle
puja
is
also
done
here.
People
believe
that
the
godess
is
very
strong
and
protects
from
accidents.
During
normal
days/weekends
there
won't
be
any
rush.
Visit
the
shrine
to
get
divine
experience.
