A very nice location. The highest village in Bosnia offers you a great View. There are also a lot of hiking trails in the area

Lukomir is a village on the southern slopes of Mount Bjelasnica. This most populated place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the only settlement above 1300 meters is located at 1,495 meters above sea level. The village belongs to the municipality of Konjic, and can be reached from two directions - from Konjic and Sarajevo. Konjic is about 30 kilometers away, while Lukomir is 45 kilometers away from Sarajevo. Driving from the center of Sarajevo to Lukomir, which runs through Babin dol to Bjelasnica, takes about an hour and a half. Most of the roads are paved, and the last 11 kilometers is a macadam road leading first through the bare landscaped karst landscape, and then through the landscapes with flowering meadows. Walking you can reach the village through two hiking trails, from the village of Umoljani to Bjelašnica.

There is a hill just outside of Lukomir. Takes maybe 5 minutes to climb. On top you can see entire Lukomir on one side and Rakitnica canyon on the other side. The view is exxtremely good and fantastic. Little to say. Mountains around you and very deep canyon is just something where you can feel small. One of rare places I want get back and see it again. Great, great, worth every minute spent to get here.

Svjez zrak, priroda, setnja, mesdzid, mozete kupiti organske proizvode, krompir, luk, mrkva… Lukomir zasluzuje ocjenu10🎯🔝

The most remote and the most unique place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. İf you go with off road car or rent a car, then no problem :) I can recommend also Natura As village house and touristic agency which is very professional and highly above all standards.

This mountain village is downright magical! Such a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful nature and well worth the drive. The drive is doable with a normal car if you drive slowly and carefully. In the village, there is no cellphone reception but the restaurants normally do have WiFi. And I mean - there's nothing working with disconnecting for a bit anyways ☺️

The gravel roads seemed too hard after a while for our small car to continue, so we turned around. Would suggest an offroad car or something with lots of power which is not too low to the ground. The combination of large rocks and steep roads is quite tricky

This is how I imagine the edge of the world... Lukomir, highest altitude village in Bosnia and Herzegovina, literally hangs on the cliff of Rakitnica river valley. The river flows approximately 700 metres lower so some can imagine that the view must be amazing. The road to the village is gravel, 4x4 not necessary. From village it is about climbing 100 metres to the viewpoint.

Poor infrastructure to the village. I think that's not a big deal, slow down when you drive and you can enjoy it. The big deal is why is my three star rating? It's very important, for the local people. Question " Ko je pravio vodu pored dzamije pa je pogresno napisao vladara zemlje I nebesa"?? Jeli se pise Alah ili " Allah"?? By the way enjoy everybody get some fresh air.

Amazing scenery, very much worth the drive. We have a Passat and the gravel road (from Šabići) was no problem. We were driving a bit slower and this is it.

Lukomir village is the highest permanently inhabited village in Bosnia. Access to it is not easy due to bad road conditions, but that is the reason why it is kind of stuck in time. You get to see traditional stone houses and splendid mountain views. It's definitely worth the trip, in my opinion. You can also see some "stećak" tombs from the 12th or 13th century here, as people have been living here for a long time.

Bosznia egyik legszebb helye, viszont kb. 15 km terep vezet ide, erre alkalmas járművel kell készülni.

This place is amazing! We have a VW golf and it was relatively easy to drive from Sarajevo to there, but would not recommend the road on the way to Mostar 😂 if you have a 4 by 4, or two wheels, you’re good to go!
