Relatively good place to visit with family and kids. The spread of lake is very small when compared to Kolleru late. I was able to see 4 kinds of breeds only. I prefer ideal time to visit is November to January where there is pretty good chances to watch more birds. Above all the accessibility to bird sanctuary is very convenient. The place also is well maintained. Better to carry some food and water if you are planning with family.

Birds sanctuary is one of the most popular place in  Uppalapadu, Guntur . Bird Sanctuary is a nice place to visit . You will get opportunity to see rare set of few varieties of Birds . Painted storks, spot-billed pelicans and other birds that migrate from various countries such as Siberia and Australia use the village water tanks for nesting. Nice place to go with family and kids . It is having car parking and 2 wheeler parking but limited. It might have been maintained better than what they are doing . Very near to Guntur City. Iside the sanctuary you will have ice cream stall and will get snacks. Overall nice place to visit with family.

I revisited this place almost after a decade or so. There is a tremendous improvement. There is walking track around the Bird sanctuary and one can just go round it and see the birds. There is view point on an elevated platform where you can have a better viewing. There a is canteen offering some fast food items. Wash rooms are available. The area is maintained by forest department. if anyone is around Guntur, don't miss this place

Beautiful place to observe the migratory birds

I saw three varieties of birds. Atmosphere was good. There are two observatories to watch birds. There is a walking platform where we can walk and enjoy watching birds without disturbing them

I was awestruck when I visited the place. A perfect place for bird watching and photography. 5 types of birds were there when I visited our of which 2 are not common. You can see mothers feeding their babies. 😍 Please ban use of plastics at this location. If not birds will feed it to their children.

Maintenance is not good but they collect entry ticket of 10 per person and parking fee The birds used to swim and dip in water which is very good to watch(during earlier visit) As plants have grown in water area the birds are just sitting on branches and some of them are in air and can be seen before arriving at the location There is canteen inside tea,puffs,pastries,ice creams,lays,dark fantasy and some other branded food is available

I went to this place while going tenali to guntur. September to February is the right time to explore. Best place for couples.

This is an excellent place for bird lovers. You can see thousands of big cranes and migratory birds here. Cranes from Siberia, Russia, and other countries migrate to this place during the winter. They stay here till the end of the winter season. You can also see other species of birds. Winter is the best season to visit this place. It is about 10 kilometers away from Guntur city.

A migratory bird sanctuary, maintained by Forest Department. Many migratory birds flock during season. Typical spend here is around 45 minutes. Don't miss to go up the observatory point, where you can have an excellent and expansive view and good photos. While going from guntur, near the bird sanctuary, don't take the left turn, as suggested by google Maps. 40 meters ahead there is a strait road leading to the sanctuary. Ample car park is available @ rs. 20 and entry for person is rs. 10.

Less maintenance, good if they maintain properly. Has much place to sit and relax. It was during February I visited this place, only saw 3 different type of birds. Worth a visit only if you're free and around this place.

There is no proper maintenance. Just to watch birds we have to go. It takes half an hour to one hour to view the area. Most important bad smell coming from water.

Uppalapadu bird sanctuary is beautiful and eye-catching place for bird lovers. This sanctuary is only few kilometers from Guntur bus stand. This is a naturally formed lake in uppalapadu village. Different types of birds from different countries of the globe come to this lake during their breeding season. Details of birds visiting this sanctuary are well displayed around the lake.

Very pleasant nature retreat for visitors. Many kinds of birds hang out. There is a nice snack shop inside but it was not open till 9.30 am, not sure when it opens. However there is good seating area near the snack bar and on first floor as well. Good and clean watch tower for watching birds and taking pictures. There are toilets inside but cleanliness can be improved. There is good parking place outside the sanctuary for atleast 20 cars. There is also a walking trail around the lake which is the sanctuary. This is very well maintained. The view of adjacent fields and the birds flying and bringing food back to their nests is worth watching. There is also a small play area with swings and other play equipment for the kids.

It's not at all worth it, I prefer not to visit. It's jus a place with a foot path with some benches, around the lake to walk through and sit for a while . There a small playground with kid's things like swing, seesaw,wheel. It has trees around the lake..and amidst the small lake. It's just very small place. All the birds around sit on the tree amidst of the lake, they jus roam there. The visitors cannot see /identify any variety of bird because,the trees around the lake are disturbing.and the middle of the lake where birds sit is far from the footpath. It's soo filled with bad smells. It has tickets for parking and entrance. The pictures are one is actual..the other is zoomed in.

It's a decent place, dosent have much sign boards to reach there but the sanctuary is small and clean

You can probably spend kind of 2 hours here. But when you come, be sure you not dressed Hi-Fi. This is a very normal place. Don't expect this looks more like a zoo. It's simply a rock, sea around and then a walk track. You walk around the track and get to see the birds. That's all. It's kind of fun, if the weather, climate and season is in favour of you. There's no proper parking or the route to get in. You simply find a way around there. But when you come, don't forget to get binoculars or else, even those 2 hours are going to be waste of time. You can probably get 3-4 friends around. There also a tower whiere steps are ready to break if you weigh around 90kgs. Beware!.

Ensuring the safety of the bird spot is good. But requires attention for maintenance.

I was wonder struck to see thousands of birds at one small lake !! A neighboring village is not an obstruction to them. But I felt pity that these beautiful birds have to cope up with all the dirt a human can create. Will the authorities look into this mess ? Hope someone will notice and act quickly....🙏

Its good different types of Birds are there very beautiful and attractive. Birds are breeding here small baby birds are there. They are looking very cute. Cafeteria is also available here and snacks are good and tasty, children can enjoy here by playing the things available. Car parking is available here.

It's an amazing experience to see so many birds in an area less than 10 acres. It has very good information on the differnet types of birds that nest there. Wish that info could be given in Telugu too as that help lots of visitors there. The best part is the accessibility as the quick detours from the highway NH16 only takes 5 minutes. The small park around the pond is manintained good. Hope it lasts longer like that....

This place is pleasant and a family can enjoy as a picnic spot . But the water was not clean as expected, due to lack of recycling. We can feel the bad smell. I think the birds need more care.

It's the most beautiful birds' sanctuary located at Uppalapadu village near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. Tourists from different places throng here to behold several species of pelicans, cranes, spotted bills, painted storks and many more. This winged creatures journey through thousands of kilometers far away from countries like Australia and Siberia. These rare migrants visit this sanctury during a particular season by flocking together and staying together for matting and laying eggs. Once eggs are hatched, these parent birds raise their offsprings, make them learn how to prey, fly and travel back to their respective homes, where they came from. Lovers of birds and nature certainly will have amazing experience on their visits to this lovely sanctuary. Thanks to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for investing so much on this place of tourism for its' all-round development...

It would have been a 5-star. But it was closed due to Covid-19 and no where it was mentioned until we went there. The security guy doesn't know until when it will remain closed too. So better watch out.

I would like to go there! And I feel it deserves five stars. I've passed by it but couldn't see it due to hectic schedule. But I will go there soon and I hope there would be no need to change my rating! 😁

Uppalapadu bird sanctuary is a small sanctuary but it's full of water birds. Spot-billed Pelicans and painted Stork are the dominant residents. Other water birds like Herons, Asian Spoon billed storks are also found. Birds like Golden Oriole, Brahminy Startling, Jacobian Cuckoo are also common. It's best to visit in the early morning hours or late evening to take advantage of the soft golden lighting condition.

It was a pretty cool place, and the government modified it really nice. You can visit from mrng 7 o cl9k till evening 6 Go in afternoon of a non sunny day and you can have a peaceful àtmosphere, ofcourse mrngs are never replàcable.

Visited this place on the evening when there is less crowd, entrance ticket is 10rupees per person and parking fee of 10rupees for 2wheeler. Paved path covered with trees is there to cover a portion of sanctuary which have cement benches and cast iron chairs along the path. There is an elevated platform accessible by stairs covered with roof gives a clear view of Birds. Kids play area is also available. Though a little bit foul smell is observed since it is a bird sanctuary, place is maintained well, it is clean and good. Dust bins are there to put trash. Except elevated platform, whole place is wheel chair accessible. Overall it is a good place to visit and spend sometime for all ages, especially kids will like it.

Nice place for bird photography. You can meet parkeets (parrots) and squirals at the entry gate if you go very early morning. And the green lake along side temple is a beautiful view to watch with pink/violet flowers in winter.

The place is a bit far from the highway. Easy to go by a bike but when you're planning to visit by a car it's a bit difficult for the parking and all. There is an inbuilt canteen too inside the bird sanctuary...nature lovers can opt for here but ..not upto the mark..can be a little bit more better to attract tourists🤗

Exotic birds. You can find variety of water birds here and recently the place been developed and it is good. Previously it was corrupted by lovers. But now we can see many families coming with their kids. But still there are some stupid lovers who do stupid things infront of people.

Small bird sanctuary with a lot of migratory birds resting & flying around near the island kind of area. Can spend around 1 hour watching the birds. Small canteen is available which serves water bottles, juices, chips etc. Paid parking is available for ₹30. The entrance ticket is also reasonably charged.

This spectacular reserve located near Guntur attracts many local and foreign tourists every year. Water tanks in the region are a perfect place to enjoy a beautiful spectacle of birds like Spot-Billed Pelicans and Painted Storks. The number of bird species has, however, has reduced in the recent time from 12,000 to 7000.
