Kastoria once was Kostur, home of thousands of Albanians who were brutally forced to leave the town after the Lousane Treaty. They were forced to go to Turkey just because many of them were muslims. They had no connection whatsoever with Turkey. They were old historic generations of Albanians who now-days are not remembered but instead hidden by Greek authorities. Sad!

It's great to see how they used to live the old days and it is amazing how many of these are kept in good condition so next generations can have a glimpse of the past. An unforgettable tour. And it is pretty cheap as well.

Beautifully restored 17th century traditional house in two levels. The lady gave us a detailed tour that made such a big difference. Should not be missed!

It's like going back in time. An authentic experience of life in days past.

A beautiful restored mansion of the 17th century, with much staff presenting how they used to live. Mrs Alexandra, the guide, gives all the history of the house. A must visit spot. Costs only 2€.

We arrived at 10:30 to see the museum locked and waited 30 min after calling someone, to see an old women saying hello (in Greek, not a world in English) and make a sign of a watch and leaving us alone to eventually take garden tool and cut some bushes....

Wonderful experience in seeing living from yesteryear

It's not a typical museum. It's a house left as it was by the time it was first built with many items of that period giving the opportunity to the guest of having an idea how was real daily life in Kastoria many years ago. It' s small so it doesn't take a lot of time to see and the ticket is only 2.00€ so I believe it's worth having a visit.
