Fabolous Greek (then Roman pre-Christian, Roman Christian, Byzantine) city this was! The remains are impressive, with public buildings like theater and basilica but particularly the mosaics. The mosaics are kept in the sun, though, not sure of that's good for their conservation. The museum was closed and the info is almost non-existent, so you have to look it up on the Internet yourself.

Well preserved ruins! As students you currently pay 50denares to enter and it comes with an QR-Code audio guide at each room on an info-board. The paths leading you through the ruins could be better marked as one never knows whether one is on a restricted or allowed area. Very informative and a must-see. I recommend to go on a cloudy and not too hot day!

I had the best experience coming to the ancient city. We had Victor as a tour guide, we are so glad we had him (no extra cost) rather than the recorded tour because he was very passionate and knowledgeable. I loved the tapestry on the floor and learning about it. A definite highlight for us in Macedonia and would recommend it to anyone who visits and wants to see and learn about the history of this beautiful country.

It’s actually the best Macedonian archaeological site I have seen. More intact than either Dion, Pella or Aigai. The mosaics here are also more lovely. However the museums in Greek Macedonia are brilliant. All worth seeing. The theatre is also better preserved than those in Greek Macedonia. I’m guessing they had extreme volcanic destruction there. Sad

Interesting ancient site an easy walk from town. The amphitheater is renovated and apparently set up for current use. Be sure not to step on the frescoes, even if they are not closed off.

It is a place worth to visit for the mosaics, especially those on the floor of the great basilica. But be advised that during the winter half of the year the mosaics are covered with sand, to protect them from the elements. The site now has audio self guided option, so it is convenient to hear the explanations in several languages. It is required that you have a mobile phone, Internet is provided at the site. Just walk and scan the QR codes.

Must-visit spot when in Bitola. Cheap ticket, nicely organized. There's a small museum within the complex. Loved the audio guide accessible through QR codes. There was an AR guide, too. However, it was only available on Android devices. There's bathrooms and I believe I noticed wheelchair ramps that made at least some parts accessible. Tip - when you go a bit further down the road, you'll see a small wooden sign on the left left side of the road and opposing the last house in the row. A short walk will take you to a cute waterfall.

Archeological site, still under excavation and restauration. Skinny stray dogs at the entrance, so don't forget to bring them some leftovers from your breakfast. Much appreciated❤️

Unfortunately the mosaics are covered during the winter and the onsite museum is also closed during this time, so I was not able to see either one during my visit. However, the staff was very nice and there is a good audio guide you can download at the site for free using the wifi they have available there.

Amazing! You certainly should visit it! You can connect to local wifi, scan the QR codes and listen all the info about the place. This Hellenistic/Roman city, was on the route of ancient Egnatia street. You can see now ruins of theatre, baths, water supply and drainage system, Christian churches of 4th century and more. I would propose to them to have greek as an option for this tour.

The ruins are interesting to visit. It’s not as preserved as other archaeological sites seen in Albania for example. 120 mkr per adult Make sure to ask if the museum is open or the mosaic is uncovered as you won’t be able to see much or understand the history. Wouldn’t be worth your buck if those places are not accessible

Not so well preserved but totally worth to visit. It's a nice ancient city, a military roman settlement from around the 1st century. The guy working there gave me long explanations in english, was a great tour and for free.

The guide was very generous sharing a lot of information about the history of the place, and providing us with the social and religious context of multiple eras this city has gone through. A truly exceptional experience and well spent mid-day.

Its an unexpectedly well preserved and exhibited archaeological site. Its a nice destination after a nice walk through the towns stadium park and the mostly pedestrian road that passes by the cemetery and connects the park with the site

Great place to visit in Bitola, North Macedonia. It was established as an ancient Greek city, taken over by the Romans, and used as a military camp, later conquered by the Slavic tribes approximately in the eighth century A.D. Unfortunately, during our visit mosaics were covered with sand for preservation purposes so we weren't able to see its beauty in full, however, the place offered more objects of interest. Among them were amphitheater, simply sitting there and imagining the presence of the public and orators of the past, your stay between them, their language, issues they address and discuss, it was so energetic. Few words about the staff, very friendly and helpful people, the guide has deep knowledge of the subject ask him to tell you more if you keen to history, you would find out interesting facts about the historic site.

This place has potential but it not yet finished and right now looks like a dig site. If you're to travel to Bitola just for that (like I did) then it's definitely not worth it.

A wonderful site with a complete self guided audio tour and VR exhibit's. I was lucky enough to preview a new VR headset amphitheatre experience that was impressive and provided a great VR experience that immersed you into an ancient time when the theatre was at its most spectacular. This site ranks with Roman ruins in Italy and had a high tech self guided tour and VR experience that I have yet to see anywhere else. Bring a cell phone and make sure you have internet access.

Must visit. The birthplace of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, and founder of the Hellenic Kingdom, nowa Republic Stunning Macedonian mosaic. Only 1/3 of it has been excavated. Truly a wonderful setting

I am not a fan of historic places, especially "just" ruins. But this place is not "just" ruins, there is a lot to see. There is a voice guide available through qr code. The directions may be confusing sometimes but in the end it doesn't even matter. There is also some VR experience but we did not have a chance to try it. That's history well done!

👍👍 Manastır is a perfect city. And the clock tower is the place that symbolizes the city. The parc is great to rest in city center and there are a lot of parking areas around the parc. First 15 minutes is free. If you are coming to Ohrid for a visit, please do not skip Manastir (Bitola) and you won’t b...

😠 The worst zoo I have ever seen. An example of animal abuse. They live in terrible conditions without access to water or food. Horses have parasites, wolf has no fur, bear has to eat grass out of his cage not to starve, monkeys even ate their own feces and drink their own urine. This place is a shame...

Mosque
👍👍 Awesome treasure from Otoman period in Bitola. This mosque is the biggest in town and on the other side of the street is located the old Ottoman Bazaar "Bezisten".
