Children wished to go to the mountains. We were looking for a safe, clean , quiet home stay serving vegetarian food. Our search lead us to Prakritilaya at Kotagiri. Its owner Arun was very responsive to our queries. We were thrilled on arrival at the property. It is a beautiful old bungalow renovated by the host. It is surrounded by beautiful flower garden , tea plantation. The host Arun is very passionate about serving nature and creating awareness . His passion is reflected in his choice of materials, decorations, management of consumables at Prakritilaya. It is a very refreshing place. It gave us the peaceful space to connect our being with the nature. Our twins had the best time of their vacation. They spent the day under the sky , enjoyed harvesting herbs for kitchen, read books from Arun's library, played board games with other guests. Arun was our local guide providing information , contacts to make our trip memorable. We learnt about shola, tea processing, eco system and witnessed processing of tea and nilgiri oil. We are grateful to Arun, his team and mom for serving us variety of food. Its got good wifi. We had good time and memorable experience of our life time. We have a little more understanding of nature and ideas of how we can contribute to sustainability.

This place is a hidden gem in Kotagiri, away from the touristy hustle. We stayed for 4 nights and still couldn't get enough of the beauty this place holds. Mr Arun has wonderfully done up the place and lot of importance given to little details. Lots of activities and games stocked up for kids. So not to worry on keeping them engaged. The food in their restaurant is very tasty, hats off to the team. Everyday is a different menu and you cannot get bored! Cant wait to get back here and detox once again from city chaos :) All the best to the team and keep up the great work!

We had a great time at Prakritilaya and strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful stay off Kotagiri. Arun is a fantastic host. The property is located in the middle of tea gardens but easily accessible from Kotagiri town. Rooms are well furnished with ample common areas to just hang out & chill. Prakash is an awesome cook. We had multiple lunches and dinners there and they were uniformly high quality.

Amazing experience!! The quiet and serene location/ surroundings, prompt service and amenities were top notch. The property is completely in the midst of a tea estate and has wonderful trails with breathtaking views. Lawn space for outdoor activities, indoor games and books for all ages are some of the many thoughtful things about this place. We tasted a variety of dishes in their in-house veg restaurant and found all of them to be homely and delicious. House specials are to be definitely tried. Breakfast spread was awesome with fresh juices and preserves. Special thanks to Mr Arun's (host) mother for the absolutely delicious lemon pickle. All the staff, mainly Mr Prakash were prompt and attentive to details making our stay great. Much needed break from daily routine and gadgets. Mr Arun was an excellent host, checking with us regularly about our comfort and educating us about the ecology. His various steps towards minimizing wastage is definitely commendable and in the right direction. Thanks to Mr Arun for coming up with such a brilliant venture

Everything about this place is beautiful. We were mesemerized by the location, views, greenery, calmness of this guest house. Special mention for the food - its homely and tasty. Kudos to entire team of arun for a peaceful stay. Tip: visit this property for doing meditation, doing yoga, walking among tea estates, relaxing. During summers too climate was chilled, no fans or ac in any of the rooms still it was cold and cozy at night it rained for both days of our stay. Carry jacket or sweaters if you have kids or elderly. Definately recommend and coming back again.

If beginning your mornings with Karak Chai was a sure shot way for a great dayimagine what a holiday would be to stay amidst the tea estate.Aptly named Nature Homes, you definitely are greeted bychirping birds, squirrels running arnd and fresh air ,a luxury for sure. The garden has flower bed of colors that would put shade card to test.A walk in the tea garden is all you need to relax your nerves and if you lucky you might witness the Gaurs grazing. Room with a touch of old times have high ceiling, spacious enough to move around and not bump in to furniture which we normally would in a hotel.Freshly prepared food, with veggies from their garden.Request for filter coffee on tiring evenings were never denied. Our stay at Prakritilaya Nature Homes was all that was promised and what we expected from a host met greatly.Thank You to Arun and his team for making our holiday a great experience. We loved each day we have spent "A Perfect Family Getaway". Best wishes to team Prakritilaya Nature Homes .

We stayed here for two days and are really satisfied with the facilities and staff. The staff were humble and attentive. They ensured excellent service and peaceful stay during our stay. Would like to provide a special note about the establishment’s concept of self-sustaining zero waste facility and the owner Arun for successfully implementing it. The facility is maintained nicely and located in serene mountainous location midst of tea plantation. Highly recommend it.

I would say staying at PrakritiLaya was a wonderful experience. The property has 3 rooms of different types and one can select the room depending on your family size. The Rooms are Cozy and Elegant. It is Clean and very well maintained. The Bathroom is also nice and good. Outside the rooms one could spend all day sitting with great views which surrounds this place. This small homestay is situated in the midst of a Tea Plantation. The host Arun is Excellent and Courteous. And so are all the Staff who are working here. Kudos to Arun who is running this place with Environment Friendly methods. It is not an easy thing to be done. Food options is restricted to Vegetarian only. And we need to tell our order in advance. We stayed here for 3 days and had our food at the homestay only for most of the times. All the dishes were great and prepation was good. Most of the ingredients used for cooking is home grown. We also went for a Nature walk with Arun which is around 90 mins. He explained about this Sholas eco system which must be known by all. Nature needs to be conserved and it is the responsibility of all of us. PrakritiLaya will be a place which I will definitely visit again.
