Wonderful Gujarati dinner served on a lovely terrace (it's not take away, I don't know why the names says so on Google Maps). Pure veg, no alcohol. Delicious and free refill... perfect!

Had one of my best lunches in last week at Agashiye. Am a visitor to Ahemdabad from Pune (Maharashtra )and wanted to explore the culture and food of Gujrat. This is a heritage site converted into a hotels. Awesome place for authentic food lovers.... Am stunned on many aspects of the restaurant and to name a few- awesome and very tasty food.. Am sharing this for the benefit of fellow visitors like me so that they don’t miss the excellent food and the ambience. Good food , nice ambience and overall a great experience which i cherished 👍 if some one is craving to have a good gujarathi thali wanting to enjoy outside food , yet homely purely veg , with less of oil , freshly made stuff , not much of masala yet tasting out of the world , it is Agashiye !

From a non-working elevator to rather sub-par food, I was struggling to justify the Rs. 2,500 price tag. This place is definitely not worth the hype. A variety of food that mostly borders on absolute junk. Easily the worst food I’ve had in a very long time. Stay away!

While the place and ambience looked amazing, we were taken a back by the arrogance shown by the individuals on the counter. We went in as tourist for the first time not knowing about this place being a fine dine, we actually went to The Green House which was right next to it, and were told by the person noting down the wait list to check if there is space for 4 of us there. However upon casually asking the person on the counter at Agashiye, they ridiculed us stating we cannot step in like this and that the waiting list is closed and that no one will tell you like this outside (implying we were lying) and started laughing. We were taken a back and just laughed our way out for this snobbish restaurant which had the attitude but the fact that it didn't even surface as one of the sought after restaurants in Gujarat. Post that we went back to The Green House Courtyard, apparently same owner as told to us. The staff at The Green House were courteous.

One of the Last of it's kind! A perfect heritage restaurant, with a royal ambiance and exemplary service. Only Gujarati thali with three options but amazing food. The sabzi options could've been a little better, but the experience of fine dining makes up for it! One would spend some good amount of time here , as you would love to look around and spend some time in the timeless architecture and beautiful terrace garden.

Nice place in old Ahemdabad area, one of the heritage property in city, must visit if u here for 1st time. Can shop at nearby market and can visit night food market at Manek Chowk after 11. Can spend evening till night in this area. Old Bazaar, hush hush area. Parking space can be tricky, plan accordingly.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful old house which has been adapted to a hotel. Most of the old structure and fittings seem to have been preserved very well. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and I had the set thali which had some nice ghee laden rotis and traditional Gujarati dal and vegetable. The papaya salad was very refreshing and the meal came with a lemon juice and buttermilk. It was very interesting to have the waiter bring a bowl and water to allow you to wash your hands. The one thing I thought could be added was a little personal touch to explain to tourists what the food is all about or even the history of the place. A little personalised hospitality is what would help.

Amazing palce and food It was an unforgettable experience. As per most of our friends and family it serve the best Gujarati thali with royalty ambience in Ahmedabad. . Food is unlimited and authentic Gujarati. The food was delicious . Staff is really friendly. The hotel cum museum concept is the most unique part of the place. Per thali with cost approx 1400 with unlimited food and the best part is the menu changes daily so you get different food in all your visit .

Amazing experience coming into Ahmedabad. Seated on the terrace of the House of MG (Mangaldas Gopaldas), the heritage, food quality and ambience is truly iconic. A must visit for anyone coming to Ahmedabad. Thali was not too expensive and the food and ambience were great.

Loved the ambiance and experience at Agashiye. The interior was beautiful and unique bringing back memories of old Ahmedabad houses. The servers were very polite, friendly and welcoming. They served the thalis with so much love and care and made sure we had the best meal. The thali although tasty was not at all unique and mind blowing. The menu items were regular, and taste was just like any other restaurant. For 1200 bucks for a meal per person, I was expecting much more. Would recommend everyone to go there for the experience but not for the food.

With respect to the amount they are charging, they are providing very limited choices of food options. The sabzi options were picked poorly in the menu. The only thing that I had enjoyed was to gaze around the beautiful architecture of the building of Agashiye. If you are coming here for a great food, then keep your expectations at a lower level.

We went for the early lunch which was discounted by 50%. So it was total value for money. Food was amazing. Tasty. High quality food. Service is totally outstanding. Ambience is very very nice. We totally enjoyed the food. The concept of a heritage bungalow converted to a nice place like this. Hats off to those who planned & executed the plan. Would certainly recommend going on the night when you can see the lighting effect. The way the place is done is highly appreciated. Would certainly visit again.

Food was good. Not extraordinary. Didn’t provided spoon or tissue paper or anything with order. Prices are way too high compared to the food provided. Quality was great but shouldn’t cost 500 for this small thali which can serve only one person that too with medium diet.

One of the Highly-rated places in Ahmedabad. The ambience of this place will surely make you fall in love. When it comes to food I would say they provide rich authentic food. The price is a little high. I got it's a heritage site converted into a hotel and has a high maintenance cost. But, I think the amount they are charging for thali, there are limited choices of food options. If you want to experience a heritage place with decent food then you must visit this place. Plus, in the COVID time, they do temperature checks, provide sanitizers and staff also wear masks which is really appreciated. Would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

Highly disappointed low catagory variety food They have charged (prepaid- before we seat for food they charged money) 2400 rupees for 2 thali, a thali which is what boys eat at hostel.. some phulka.. 2-3 curry.. out of which 2 is sweet, one is eatable… none of the even 5 star hotel will give thali at this price of this pathetic menu.. Highly disappointed with the food, it is like eating food in some free food.. Highly disappointed

An excellent experience. Considered by many as best Gujarati thali in Ahmedabad. Gujarati thali enjoyed in royal style. Food is unlimited and authentic Gujarati. The taste is really good. Staff is really friendly. The place is in House of MG which is kind of hotel cum museum. Good view on roof top. Good for pics. Only downside is the price. The thali would cost you 1400 per person. The menu changes daily. Actually Gujarati thali is more enjoyable in simplicity than royalty.

So it was luxurious fine dining restaurant for Gujarati thali. Taste was ok as per the pricing not so different or special. Yeah they serve mostly all authentic Gujarati dishes and seasonal special vegetables. In order to make it special arrangements the lights were off in terrace sitting only 1 little lamp was there so it was bit un comfortable. Otherwise ambiance was good infrastructure and decoration was also nice. It was like old Gujarati style design.

If you are a North Indian who has always eaten good spicy food. Don't like too much sweet food. Please don't go. All this place have is an overhyped, overpriced good for nothing food. In my review i am not even considering gujrati daal me kadhi which I knew will be sweet. What disappointed me most that they even got dokala wrong. I was in ahemdabad for 10 days , this was worst dokala i have ever ate in my life. Food which was not sweet was utterly bland. There are many better place in ahemdabad which serve gujrati thali is 100 time better than this place. I went to iscon thal 2 days after this disaster, they also served sweet daal and kadhi , but apart from that rest of food was really good taste.

I have had much better Gujarat thali I Ahmedabad. The decor is amazing and the service is very quick. They take good care of you but honestly the food is a huge let down. Excellent Rajbhog halwa that day everything was sub par including the Shrikhand which was a huge let down as I had taken a few of my colleagues for dinner. For the price of 2000 rupees they can afford to invest in the food as well.

Tho I am not new to Gujarati food, the experience was different coz of the ambiance and setup. Staff was in hurry to take last order and clear our table due to the pressure of closing the restaurant by 9:30 pm. Food was good. Chutneys were good too. Taste could have been more authentic and rustic ...

Great place to meet and eat. Service is good. Food is tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary and in my opinion bit pricey, and also customers (we) are forcefully obliged to contribute to child donation on our bill and also a new CON trick that we have not come across before of rounding up your bill.... why and how is this necessary for the establishment?? let's see them rounding down... bet they would jot like it. I'll certainly not recommend this place. it's overhyped and overrated by Yuppies, who wants to be seen to be there and is creating a false vibe.

The place is nice and must visit. the food, however is so so. Cost is 1300 rupee/ person for classic choice and 1800 for premium choice (silver utensils and free flow of icecream) We chose classic ones coz we know Thali is a big dish. You pay first and the take the lift upstair. When we first walked in, the hotel reception was nice and very attentive. However, the guy who take care of payment for the restaurant was quite rude and show no courtesy at all. That quite put me off a bit

Ambience:Agashiye as the name denotes it means out-door seating on the terrace, but turn of events after we arrived in ahemdabad it has been incessantly pouring, luckily the weather had cooled off the sizzling city. This being an erst-while era property it has retained its old world charm which reflects in the entire decor.Love the flooring per se. They have beautiful layout of group tables in one area and cosy seating for 2/4 in the adjacent area. We started of with a Lemon mint cooler which was insanely good. The feeling towards the end almost comes of khus.but is not.Refreshingly cool.Gotchya! Chaas:This one could drink by the jar.Mildly khatta. So good! Patrapalakchaat:This was crisp deep-fried goody which was dunked in yogurt, green and date chutney.Gimme more! There was kachumbar, assortment of pickles garlic, imli, kairi & white butter In farsan there were corn pakora which was crisp medium spicy dunk it with date and green chutney.Paarty! Handwo:Who doesnt like this cumbersome snack?Tell me!This baked goody made with rice, vegetable and lentils.Gift from above no? Batata rassawala:This was medium-spicy which was without the skin,1point cut for tht.Dude u took away the nutrients, other than tht it had regular medley of indian spices and hint of jaggery Besan gatta:This was yogurt, tomato based gravy thickened with besan. The gatta are long besan cylinders cut and boiled in gravy till cooked. This cud hv been tad better. Moong fangawelah:This is steamed and served.Healthy! Bhindi:This is delicately flavoured.Very light indian spices.Love it! Dal:So the debate has been surti dal is sweet and ahemdabad dal is spicy. How do i know this?My ma-inlaw is from navrangpura ahmedabad and my pa-inlaw is from athwa lines surat.Aha!Thts how i know.Have been eating both versions over 2decades.I love both. This one has less jaggery and good blend of indian spices I always believe tht dal should be served hot on the hot rice, but as i dont like food to be wasted am always stuck with cold dal over hot rice. From my goodness i minus my own one point. Kadi:This was khaati meeti.Ohh u could drink this by the truck-load.With perfect blend of besan and yogurt.Perfect tempering of jeera,hing,curryleaves.gingergreenchilli.Keep it flowing! Moongdalsheeroh:Now we all know this is a tough one to get right.BoyOhBoythey hv nailed it Pista basundi:Me an einstein had sheeroh first so couldnt taste my basundi sweetness. My folly. They had garnished it well with pista.Thts how thickened milk should be.Less sweet! The choice of bhakri, paratha keeps coming till u wave the flag Gulkand icecream:By now we were bursting thru the seams,so sadly cudnt savour our favourite flavour Paan:Ohh this left me dry-mouthed for a long time! Should u visit? What do u think! Happy Eating!

Excellent multi-course Gujarati meal. The service was very attentive and friendly as they served traditional Gujarati food. We had plenty to eat of the delicious cuisine. The setting was beautiful. Highly recommend! This is over a century old property and very well maintained. The food is served hot & fresh with warmth and proper attention to your taste. The hotel is a landmark and the experience is memorable. Food quality is decent and Wholesome with a wide variety. Overall a must visit place when in Ahmedabad.

Over priced thali!! They should add more starters and better vegetables. They should add few more gujarati varieties. Paying 2200 for one thali was not good. Ambience, service, taste was good. But few additions are really required

Excellent. Great food. One criteria for declaring something as great food is how you feel two hours after having a heavy meal. This place passes that test. You feel light and not stuffed up. Good service , neat and clean, adequate toilets and parking. Easy come and go.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights in June 2023 with my family. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds . There was a TV by the shower, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they allowed us to check in early without any hassle. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a variety of options. We enjoyed the location of the hotel, as it was easy to walk to the beach and some nearby attractions. The hotel also had a beautiful pool and a gym, which we used during our stay. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, and we felt very safe and comfortable. It was a five-star hotel with excellent service and amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

It discriminate based on what you want to eat, had difficulty in communicating with the manager in English, food quality is not value for the money and what you are paying is for the ambiance (artificial moon). The musicians performed for few minutes as if you like then we will perform. Since the establishment of this place Ahmedabad now has better places and to eat (better ambiance) and cheaper. No consideration for the Senior Citizens who tend to it less. Recommend to avoid.
