One of the 12 Jyotirlings. Holy place. Awesome view with cold water of Narmada river. Must try boating option to travel as it gives complete view for all temples and holy monuments. Go with proper plan and arrangements if visiting in auspicious day or long weekend, else you will be charged more on all your activities.

I will say If you're going there with your vehicle please don't go, because the administration is so lazy that there is no parking, you've to park on road infront of shop for which they're asking 200rs parking charge (maybe more than this) .Roads are so narrow that your car will get lovely scars by someone ๐Ÿ˜‚. I will suggest do not go with boat because its senseless and they're looting you ,go with the bridge you'll love the view and please avoid food at nearby shops because 50% of them are selling expired products and will argument with you if you Raise voice. Architecture of temple is so rich but because of poor Administration it will ruin your experience, there is no dustbins in temple campus and even after that .No parking .

Peace of mind and spiritual atmosphere over there. Once you reach the location you automatically start feeling good. But don't go there on weekend days. And if you want to go then make sure you must reach the temple early in the morning after such a time place will be overcrowded and you won't get time even to see Bholenath.

Great location, good management, great nearby shops and the darshan was fabulous, I was delighted and also satisfied with the darshan, great view. Don't prefer boating, go for a walking bridge and also the people were irritating us because they were urging us to get the exact place for the parking lot even if we didn't want to and they were doing scam by giving you a ticket in the name of nagarpalika! Or else the place is great in itself!

Jyotirlinga. Great pilgrimage. 150 kms from Ujjain. Needs one full day to visit from Ujjain and Taxi takes 4hrs to reach from there. On the banks of Narmada river. If you are visiting Mahakaleshwar, keep one day for Omkareshwar. Must visit.

One of the 12 jyotirlinga. Most scenic place you will see. Mountains with River. I loved the place so much. Lot of food options at old bus stand. I will suggest to have meal there. I will suggest you go for boat ride once your Puja is over. It's a different experience altogether.

Jyotirlinga tirth Kshetra, spirituality fills the air, and maa narmada flows like the sea here, remember to visit both omkareshwar and amleshwar temples to complete your jyotirlinga darshan, the place itself is away from city noise, easily transversed by rickshaw.

Omkareshwar Jyotirling, Madhya Pradesh At the holy confluence of river Kaveri and Narmada, for the salvation of the human, Shri Omkareshwar who is self-manifested, always sitting in the city of Mandhata, is the Jyotirlinga. Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva is situated at a distance of 77 km from Indore on the banks of river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh. Here the river Narmada divides into two parts to form an island called Mandhata or Shivpuri. The shape of this island is similar to the visual representation of Om or Omkar. The main temple of Omkareshwar is made of North Indian architecture with high spire. This temple is the main attraction of the visitors. The temple has a huge assembly hall which is about 14 feet high and is based on 60 huge pillars. The temple has 5 floors in total and different deities are installed on all. Regularly 3 pujas are performed daily in the temple, morning puja is performed by the trust, afternoon puja is performed by the priest of Scindia Gharana and evening puja is performed by the priest of Holkar State. Here people go to worship the bhagwan after taking a bath in the Narmada river. Aarti of Maa Narmada river is performed here at some ghats in the evening, as well as there is a feeling that one should come here and circumambulate the Narmada river. โ™ฅ๏ธ

Omkareshwar is located @ 70 km away from Indore. This is the Island in between Narmada River and River flows surround the temple. the temple bird view is like a Hindu Spiritual Devanagari "OM" (เฅ ) symbol, hence this Jyotirlinga is called as Omkareshwar. As this temple is on Island we have to go to the temple by Boat or by Pathway Bridge only, There is a Bridge which was constructed in 1979 for pilgrims who want to visit the temple by walk. One more Hanging Bridge is constructed recently in 2004, which is 4 meters wide and 235 meters long. This Swing bridge will take us directly to Main entrance of the temple. Along with Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, there is also Mamleshwar Jyotirlinga on the other bank of Narmada River. Both these Shivalinga's are considered to be the same Jyotirlinga. Inside the Garbhagriha on one side, Omkar Shivalinga and another side Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh idols are established. Always water is filled naturally around the Jyotirlinga. There are temples of Govindeshwar, Maa Annapurna and Panchamukha Ganesha. The Island where this temple is situated is called as Mandhata Parvat or Shivpuri. There is Parikrama Path on this island which is about 7-8 km long and the way is completely full of temples. This full parikrama needs to be complete by foot only and which will take @ 3-4 hours easily.

When I visited it was very crowded I have to wait 4 to 5 hours for darshan of jyotirlinga Very poor management done by the officials there One of the jyotirlinga from 12 jyotirlinga so it is a holy place. Nice views of omkareshwar dam and the bridge for walking to the temple is greatly constructed

One of the most ancient places of worship on the Narmada river, Though there's a huge crowd at all times, the pujas are processed by the many priests in a reasonably orderly fashion. The interior of the temple has far too many pillars for the area they hold up, but with all those carvings on them and the innumerable bells hung above, it gives one the feeling of moving inside a cave or tunnel. While waiting for one's turn to worship, one can admire the loveliness of the sculptural art in sandstone, of 9th and 10th century.

Omkareshwar Jyotirling is the 4th of the 12 Jyotirlings in India. It's a giant temple of Lord Shiv in Ling-form, visited by thousands of devotees daily, situated on the banks of Narmada River. From the pictures, it might have a strong resemblance to Rishikesh. The temple is multi-storeyed, so for elderly people it might be tricky to climb all the stairs. There is a small parking space, and you will find autorickshaws and totos (e-rickshaws) constantly going to and from the omkareshward Jyotirling. It's hardly 5 min from the Omkareshwar bus stand and there are buses from Indore (2-2.5 hours) /Ujjain (3.5-4 hours) going daily (check out online and prefer online booking else you might have to wait till the next bus arrives) There is no entrance fees but if you wish not to stand in queue for 3-4 hours, I would recommend if possible get a VVIP ticket (costs 1100 for 2) or at least VIP ticket - there are no counters but you might come across multiple pundits at the entrance of the bridge that takes you to the temple. Do check on the Arti timings, as during then devotees aren't allowed to go inside the premises. Also there is a small market, which has options for decent food, and some clothes-jewellery-souveniers if you want to purchase.

It's a beautiful divine temple which is a Jyothirlinga. The temple is located on the banks of Maa Narmada. The temple has wonderful vibrations. MP government needs to pay attention to the temple and improve the path leading to the temple. The administration in general needs to improve the approach road and introduce proper paid parking as well. BEWARE OF PUNJARIS OFFERING DARSHAN AND ABHISHEK , THEY ARE SCUMBAGS.

One of the 12 jytorlinga in india. The temple itself is quite old and spectacular๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ. However, the management of temple is not good as compare to other ones like in ujjain.

One of the twelve jyotirlinga of lord Shiva and a great tourist place near Indore. You can hire a taxi to visit this place. It is usually crowded and there are long queues. The actual temple is very congested and one should take care of themselves. This place has its own positive magnitude and vibrations can be felt as soon as you enter the place. Enjoy the local market for shopping and eating.

Omkareshwar being one of the 12 jyotirlinga is totally a very best visit for me personally. The Jyotirlinga is located on the banks of narmada and on the other side Mamleshwar mandir is present. Overall the view of the mandir is breath taking and just couldn't comprehend the fact that i had the luck to visit 2 jyotirlinga back to back in a week. It's a must visit place for every one. The weather was hot and humid but when we touched the narmada it was just so cold and calm and it took our restless ness with it. Must visit Mandir.

Spiritual place.View from the bridge on river Narmada is fantastic. We visited during evening hours so the area was well lit up with decorative lights. On other bank there is a Mamaleshwar temple. Also boating facility is available for observing nature's beauty .Here we can feel peace and spirituality.

One of the holy Jyotrlings. Very ancient and historical Holy place for all Hindus But in very bad condition. No cleaning, no restrooms. All over dirt and very conjusted at inside of temple. Hanging bridge is a good attraction and facility. Good location at Narmada river. Must visit ignoring all short comings.

This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirling, you can feel the peace of mind when you enter into the Omkareshwar place. This place has a scenic beauty in the sunrise, sunset and also in the noon. But their management is not too good so it's better to go for the darshan early in the morning. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga situated in Madhya Pradesh on the bank of River Narmada. A lot of devotees come daily to take the blessing of Lord Shiva. You can hire a boat to cross the river or can use the bridge to visit the temple. I visited the temple on weekend and it was very crowded. So Iโ€™ll recommend visiting on weekdays or early in the morning.

Such a great place i had gone there with my friend and collected lots of memories there and we had bathed in the narmada river that was a great moment of us... But one think.. we felt bad that when we stood in the line many peoples came and asked about VIP darshan in 300 the people made a business that who has money those enter first just to gave 300 rs and worshiped first and who has stand in line they stand in line...

Om Namah Shivaya๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ The Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga lies in an ancient sacred temple. One has to pass through a very small cave-like hallways to see the shrine. There are a group of ancient temples in the shrine. Holy Narmada valley further embraces the environment. There would be a lot of developments in the future in and around the vicinity of the temple. Currently, the road to reach the temple is narrow and too crowded. Also there is a parking problem.

Jai baba Bholenath.. One of the Important Jyotirlinga. Situated on the bank of River Narmadaโ€ฆ It was heavily crowded and people were pushing us.. Needs good management.. Govt should take temple in own hands for management, Just like Ujjain Mahakaal.. it was very smooth in mahakaal as govt is managing. It takes more than 2.5 hours to reach from Indore as roads are very bad.. govt should look into this

There is private parking place from which Omkareshwar Temple can be accessed by walk but people at parking would tell you that it can not be reached by walkโ€ฆin reality, all temples can be reached by walkโ€ฆ The shops of Pooja Saman are located all around templeโ€ฆ

One of 12 Jyotirling. Very beautiful place and on the bank of Narmada. Mann apne aap hi bhaktimay ho jata hai aisi jagah pahuch kar. You heart itself will be spiritual once after reaching there. Situated at a distance kf 77 Km from Indor City (One of the big city in Madhya Pradesh). Other attraction are near by Omkareshwar are Sidhnath Temple, Patali Mandir, sangam of two river [Narmada and Kaveri (Kuberi actually)] and 7.5 Km parikarma which has long walk and stair climbing up and down & Omkareshwar Dam at Narmada River. Need one day to visit this place because there is no train and person can go by bus or taxi. State transport buses are very few on this route. Private operator take almost 4-5 hours to reach there but return journey finishes in 3 hours. The road passes through hills also which is called Ghat and actually its Narmada Valley. There is say that Ganga me dubki lagane par paap dhulte hain parantu Naramada ka to naam lene se hi paap dhul jaate hain (To get rid of your bad karma you need to take a dip in Ganda river but just speaking name of Narmada your bad karma will go. That much powerful Maa Narmada river is). Sad to see dirty water of the near by houses and other premises also enters in river.
