Grateful for my uncle to take me there for the vacation. He carried the whole expense himself. My family and his family were together in an houseboat. We enjoyed the scenery greatly. Also the food which we got from the houseboat was really really good.

The Vembanad backwaters are spectacularly beautiful, especially in the early morning and around the sunset. It feels amazing to cruise on the boats through the dense water hyacinth and the thousands of pink water lilles, looking at the life around you - the lush green paddy fields, the small villages, people going about their daily lives, the many houseboats, the many birds, the occasional fish in the water, and the gentle cool breeze. Life is good here.

Visited the place on 6/4/2023 and stayed in a resort for two days on the banks of vembanad backwaters. The stay was pleasant and I had a boat ride in a housing board and boat ride to pathiramanal island in a small motor boat. We had a boat ride around pathiramanal island and the scenic beauty of the place is marvelous. I really enjoyed the trip and had a nice refreshment to mind and body.

Nice place Vembanad Lake is at the heart of Kerala Backwaters tourism with hundreds of kettuvallams plied on it and numerous resorts on its banks. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is located on the east coast of the lake. The lake has become a major tourist attraction.

Very peaceful! We were on a houseboat and had spent the entire day admiring its beauty, and the sunrise the next morning was spectacular. Kumarakom has a number of boat booking agencies. One can choose between a day tour alone, which does not include a night stay on the boat, and a full package, which includes both the day tour and the night stay. There are also government boats with no accommodation that can be used for day cruises. These are incredibly cost effective. For a day cruise, private boats would charge Rs. 1500/- per hour.

It was an incredible ride experience. Their is a government water taxi service throughout this area. Iam using this taxi to travel from Kottayam to Allappy. Their is only rs 15 for one side. Through this travel we can get a clear picture about the geographical and cultural specifications of this are. visual beauty of the surrounding area is amazing.

It's really and experience to stay in a boat house in allepy. They will take you around the lake and canal back waters in the evening and u can enjoy the huge lake and sunset. It's an amazing experience as all you food is arranges within the boat. The bed was a little small for 2 people and 1 kid as only a queen size fits in a room. In the morning you can see water lily's and lotus. Amazing experience.

One can hire a houseboat and sail through the calm waters. Enjoy the serenity and beauty of the nature. Feel the soft touch of the gentle breeze on your face. Relax at the comfort of the air conditioned bedroom and simply gaze through the window , watch the birds or the coconut groves.

The endless shimmer of the sun upon placid waters, an "always there" breeze, coconut palms and lush Kerala bottle green all around, traditional dugouts, kayaks, and houseboats (some double storeyed) passing by every now and then, and the uniquely delectable Kerala cuisine with muck of the produce procured locally -- if just chilling is your idea of a perfect holiday, Vembanad Lake and backwaters is the place for you!

Backwaters were okay. The river ride was like any one would take anywhere else with a nice sunset view. The lotus plants and blooms were a pleasure to see along the way.
