A very meaningful mountain to visit, which has lots of historical figures and explanations along the path for visitors to slowly walk up while enjoying a part of history of South Korea The mountain is beautiful and beautifully decorated with the historical figures and wordings, but it is very crowded despite the place being out of nowhere. And there is no public transportation available to get to this Haengju Sanseong mountain. So you can't come here without a private car, which makes it quite inaccessible to foreigners

The fortress based on the mount's summit. It has never been fortified with stone or brick like other strongholds. However, the fortess witnessed one of the most decisive battle during the Japanese Invasion of 1592. In year 1593, Japanese army of 30,000 advanced to and surrounded the fortess. The Korean defense was around 2,800 including Buddhist monks who were not originally soldiers. The battle lasted for whole day and the Japanese army retreated after several attacks.

It's beautiful because night view of Seoul is great! and Tour guide was very kind. History of General Kwon-yul was impressive. General Kwon with normal citizen despite of small number of people defeted the enemy from Japan.

A historically great place just at the outskirts of Seoul to visit. The mountain peak overlooks the beautiful scenery of the hangang (lake) and west-Seoul (Gandseo).

This was an old defense base. I recommend the detour walker way that takes 30 minutes.

This is a nice spot to spend two or three hours. There is some interesting history, good views of the river and surrounding countryside, and undemanding walks through natural surroundings. It seems to be connected with local hiking and biking paths. There is a convenience store right outside the entrance with shaded outdoor tables--good for a snack.

Be prepared for a good hike on a very steep mountain. The view at the top is amazing even on a very polluted day 😅😅😅

Admission is free. But there is a parking fee. There are trails that vary from person to person, but can walk for 30 to 50 minutes. If you go to the top, there's a memorial tower and it's great to see the scenery around Closed at 5 o'clock in winter and 6 o'clock in summer. Sometimes, in special cases, it's open at night.

👍👍 I hiked to the peak on a Thursday. Great view, but was getting a little busy with hikers by midday. If you can, choose a weekday rather than weekend.
