Honestly one of the better budget restaurants in Ao Nang area. I followed Mark Weins suggestion and came here for lunch. We were the only ones here for a late lunch that day. Food were all very delicious and worth the price!! 50baht fried rice was amazing! Love the crab omelette with real crab meat and somtam. Wished the prawns were bigger but it's fine, still acceptable. Thai iced tea was in a super tall cup haha and quite nice, not too sweet. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a budget and tasty meal. It tastes so much better than the other more expensive restaurants…

Delicious food, we came back again and again. The personal is friendly and nice. I like it also because you can see how they're cooking your food. Someone wrote in the review the portions are small, I tell you, they are not smaller as everywhere in Thailand. Thai people generally buy not just one dish as we do. If you are there, try this restaurant, I can recommend to everyone.

Was initially very skeptical about eating here due to such mixed reviews but cause of time constraint and out of convenience, my husband and I ended up eating at Cheap Cheap. We ordered the fried spring rolls, steamed fish in lemon sauce, omelette and a banana and mixed fruit smoothie. Apart from the omelette being too oily, everything else was perfect. I would highly recommend the fish, the flesh was tender and the sauce complimented the fish very well. Service was not bad. We might have returned if given the chance (:

Maybe the lunch menu is better, but dinner was so disappointing. Walked by this place a handful of times and it always intrigued us, so we finally decided to try it out. Ordered the pad Thai with shrimp, bbq fish, and beef steak salad. They said the fish would take 20 mins, but none of the food came for over 30 mins. I’m patient, this didn’t bother me much. The flavor though... the steak salad was dry and over cooked, the fish bland, and the pad Thai mediocre. The “shrimp” as Thai had 2 shrimp. I’d chalk this up as acceptable if they were “cheap cheap”, but this was the most expensive meal we had in Thailand and it was by far the worst. I kept trying to get the bill but no one would bring it. After waiting 5 mins I left cash on the table and left. Will not be back here at all.

Advertised certain pad Thai and fried rice are cheap with 50 Thai Baht. But didn't taste good. Rice tasted hard like undercooked. Lack of meats. Compared to the 80 baht fried rice and green curry rice that we ate somewhere else last night, we would not mind paying 30 baht extra for much better food.

Unfortunately i first found this place my last day in Aonang, but i look forward to come back in April and visit Cheap Cheap again. Absolutely fantastic Thai restaurant and you can get almost any thai dish you want. I had the Spicy Grilled Pork Salad which was an absolutely perfect, fresh and spicy dish. The service was also excellent. I look forward to come back soon.

Very, very nice place. Super friendly staff. Not stupid prices like many places around. A very welcome getaway from the touristy shops. Great food and amazing local dishes. We grabbed pad thai and it was amazing. Chicken pad thai was good and the shrimp as well. 50 baht each. Very happy!

(Translated by Google) Nice restaurant with spicy Thai food. Prices are at the level. They took Tom Yam, Nospicy - good, ask for spices separately. Spicy was islet for me. We also ordered crabs, there are blue and black. Blacks are better, they have more meat. My wife tried the fish in salt, which is also very tasty. Compared with other inexpensive restaurants in the vicinity, this one will be better. A good alternative to the market, which is a little closer to the beach. The restaurant is calmer, cooler and tastier.

this restaurant is really cheap and the food is tasty. the only problem is the location, it's not so close to the beach and people don't go up to the hill only for eating. the location is near the mosque. the important hotels are close to the sea. it's worth to try the shrimps tempura and the mango shake.

Cheap cheap restaurant is not so cheap cheap! We came here after watching mark weins video. For the two of us, we got two ice milk tea 120, omelette 60 thb, green curry shrimp with coconut milk 160 thb, deep fried sai sand fish with crispy turmeric 180 thb, and two rice. Total came out to 600 thb even. So rice is 80 thb? Looking back at the receipt, not sure how the check was calculated but didn’t make sense at all. 600 thb is around $19. For this price I can get a way better meal for the quality and taste elsewhere on the street. Not worth the price. The fish wasn’t that crispy. The green curry was good. Omelette was decent. For not so much food, it was 600 thb! I would have been more satisfied elsewhere. We each got 2-3 mosquito bites which I suppose is unavoidable but made the overall eating experience even less appealing.

Tasty food for a great price, thank you for serving us! Worth a stop if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. Most dishes around 80-150 bhat when we visited which is great for the area. Had the pad kra pow and crispy garlic beef (wish I got chicken) both were tasty.

Delicious thai local cuisine! We ordered the steamed lime fish, stir fried squid, papaya salad, tom yum and pineapple fried rice. Pineapple fried rice is so fragrant and the food is not too spicy as requested. Price is also reasonable. 10/10!

Super food and service with stunning view. I’ve been comparing my Tom yams everywhere and this was right up there. Always remember to ask for spicy to get the full Thai Monty if you’re a pasty white bloke like me.

I had a red curry with duck and it was amazing. To be fair it wasn't red curry at all, but it appears to be that every resto in south Thailand had a red curry on the menu, which is "their version" while not really being thai red curry. Was that an issue? Absolutely not, i ordered something and I've been surprised with something similar but truly delicious. It took more than 20 minutes so I believe they prepared it from scratch, rather than premade. Outstanding.

Not far from the mosque on the left hand side if you are going towards the beach. Loads of different seating for big families to couples, basic park type seating. The menu has a vast variety of thai food, couldn't see much for vegetarians but I'm sure they can make it for you. All the food we ordered was average, nothing that really made us think "wow" nice to eat but nothing special. The plate of shrimp sashimi was big, and quite a lot of shrimps! My fried peas were ok, quite a few that had blackening on the pods though, most westerners will like to eat food that looks fresh so could put some off. The seafood Tom yum had a fair amount of seafood included and was yest again just ok. Oysters came out a good size. Service was ok, there was 1 man who was very jovial, others seemed moody, get more staff like the friendly guy! For 3x oysters, a seafood Tom yum, garlic shrimp sashimi, fried peas and 3 beers expect to pay around 1100b. It's ok for food but there are better around.

They put some cheap prices in the entrance but in the menu are listed others more expensive. The food is ok but nothing excepcional. Probably you find a better place around. (Fried vegetables were very tasty)

cheap cheap refers more to the ingredients not the price so manage your expectation from there. sauce for the thai style mussel was good though. worth a try.

Cheap is just the special offer, the rest ist more expensive compared to the other places in the street, quality nothing special but edible. Small portion for teaser dishes, see photo. Staff quite busy as quite a few tourist get attracted by 50 baht offer.

  • 2/5 Michael F. 4 years ago on Google
I found the name ironic because it was actually quite expensive and relatively small portions. Staff weren't very polite and they forgot an item I ordered. Would not recommend, there are better options for less money in the area.

(Translated by Google) Briefly about the place: delicious, prices are standard (Tom Yam - 180 baht, Pad Tai - 50 baht). Coconut milk was not reported to taste in Tom Yam. Pad Tai is a hodgepodge, separately noodles, next to nuts, soy sprouts, a slice of cucumber and carrots. In general, a strange variation of the dish, but overall really tasty. It is popular, tables throughout the evening were occupied by people.
