Beautiful & popular beach with cliffs & caves, but bit overcrowded .... Only way is to take short boat ride from Ao Nang or Ao Nam... They charge 200 baht per person If you are interested in trek, there are many small treks...many caves there as well, a lot of options for exploring

Must visit place. Purchase the boat ticket at Ai nang beach, 200 Baht for return trips The boat trip will entertain you, very beautiful journey it take around 15 mins to get there. You will have to walk into the ocean to enter the boat and it may be waist deep so you will get wet. Also depending on weather conditions and waves you will get splashed along the way. Many beach to visit. You can hike and rock climbing. There is a strange holy place to see as well. View is stunning, you must go! Lots of bars and restaurants. Some amazing places here it’s worth visiting

Lovely beach that sits between two limestone cliffs and in the centre is access to Railay walking street and several resorts. This is the arrival and departure point for those taking long tail boats or speedboats to other islands and the main access point from AoNang. Boats leave whenever there are at least 8 people present and access is via the water onto the boats. The beach is clean evident by all the crabs and has a designated area for swimming away from the boats. There is no pier on this side. For pier access passengers need to go to East Railay which has a floating pier near princess resort. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby but not too much shade. Water is generally clean even with all the boats going in and out. Note getting food and drink onto the island and trash off the island all happens from here or East Railay so don’t be surprised to see deliveries coming and going.

an outstanding beach with beautiful features with limestone cliffs. The beach is divided into 3 parts: railay beach West that is surrounded by limestone cliffs, where it is possible to swim and also a point to watch the sunset. It’s must go to place that f you guys are visiting Krabi Thailand.

I had the privilege of visiting Railay Beach during my trip to Thailand, and it was nothing short of breathtaking. This place is a true paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and beach enthusiasts alike. The moment I set foot on Railay, I was mesmerized by the towering limestone cliffs that surround the beach. The crystal-clear waters and pristine sands make it one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Whether you're into swimming, sunbathing, or taking long walks along the shore, Railay has it all. The local atmosphere here is incredibly laid-back and welcoming. You'll find a variety of restaurants and bars serving delicious Thai cuisine and refreshing drinks. Don't forget to try the fresh seafood dishes; they're a real treat! One highlight of Railay is its rock climbing scene. Even if you're a beginner, there are plenty of opportunities to try this thrilling activity with experienced instructors. Another must-do is taking a long-tail boat ride to explore the nearby islands and caves. The natural beauty of the area is awe-inspiring. The only downside, if any, is the popularity of Railay, which means it can get a bit crowded during peak seasons. However, this didn't detract from my overall experience. In summary, Railay Beach is a tropical paradise that offers a mix of relaxation and adventure. I can't recommend it enough to fellow travelers. It's a place where you can truly unwind, soak in the beauty of nature, and create unforgettable memories.

White sandy beach cove with limestone cliff and islands in sight is probably best to describe Railey beach. Very touristy with resorts that line the coast. The beach has an area where longtail boats arrive and dock. The other parts are available for swimming. Many are on the wide beach sunbathing. The entrance to Dobo Plaza is where all the shops and food places are. At night it is a party town where the bars come alive. The sunsets beautifully at this beach too.

As someone who has visited many beaches in South Thailand, I can confidently say that Railay West Beach is one of the best beaches that I have ever been to. This stunning beach is situated in Railay, which is only accessible by boat from Krabi Town or Ao Nang. The beach is surrounded by massive limestone cliffs and lush greenery, giving it a secluded and intimate feel. The crystal-clear water is warm and inviting, making it perfect for swimming, kayaking, or just lounging on the beach. There are plenty of activities available, including rock climbing, snorkeling, and diving, so there's never a dull moment. The soft sand is perfect for walking, and the beach is long enough to find your own spot, even on busy days. The scenery is simply breathtaking, and I spent hours just gazing at the natural beauty around me. The sunsets here are also spectacular, making for the perfect photo opportunity. There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach, serving delicious Thai food and refreshing drinks. The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, and I enjoyed spending my afternoons here, sipping a cocktail and chatting with fellow beach-goers. Overall, Railay West Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to South Thailand. It's an excellent place to relax and unwind, and the natural beauty of the area is simply stunning. I highly recommend adding this beautiful beach to your travel itinerary.

Railay Beach is an outstanding beach with beautiful features with limestone cliffs. The beach is divided into 3 parts: railay beach West that is surrounded by limestone cliffs, where it is possible to swim and also a point to watch the sunset. You need to pay 100 Thai Baht for return ticket of Long tail boat from Ao o nang beach. It’s taken about 20 minutes to reach Railay Beach from Au o nang beach.

We walked from East Railey to here to watch sunset. Beautiful sunset! But it was very crowded with loud music from one of the resorts. That kind of ruins the atmosphere fir us.

Very lovely place with beautiful beaches ⛱️ from both side. You have everything that you need here. 🐒🧗‍♀️🚣‍♂️🍉🥭🥥🍕🌮🍤 We didn't stay here but we used boat taxi every day from Ao nang. If you want to sleep here there is a lot types av hotels so you are going to find something good for you and your budget. There is a plenty of activities to do like climbing, visit laguna and clim to the view. If you want to eat or drink there is one street with different types of restaurants. If you go around you will see a lot of bars. I recommend beach on the another side, you need to walk but not to much. It's very nice but crowded too. Do not feed monkeys even if you think it's funny 🚫 🐒

One of my favorite beaches in Thailand. Great vibe whether you fancy partying or a relaxing time, there’s something for everybody. Both sunset and surmise are beautiful. The sunset is great and accompanied by massive bats leaving their caves. The sunrise is gorgeous too, though you. This is despite you not being able to see the sun, but the changing colors on the rocks are a true spectacle.

Nice secluded beach. Clean and semitransparent water due to rains in the day earlier. Lots of rocks and sea animals. Children would love finding crabs, sea shells and fishes on the beach. Nice place for photos. Really photogenic. Large rocks on both sides, accessible only by boats. Have to walk a bit in water to reach the shore. 100 bhat charged for the boat ride per person. Had amazing experience and beautiful sunset. Different areas of beach have different type of sand and rocks. Refreshments are available and last boat back goes at 6 pm, be sure to take a boat by then.

Railay West Beach is like heaven on earth! Clear water, nice sand, and big rocks. You can chill on the beach, go kayaking, or climb rocks. Sometimes it's busy, but it's still chill. Sunsets are amazing!

This beach is absolutely stunning. The sad part is that people have completely destroyed it. There’s trash everywhere and so crowded. Only accessible by long rail boat

If you come early there is trash everywhere. If you come later it is pretty nice. The beach by the caves is much nicer.

No dock. You have to get off the longtail boat and onto the beach by ladder. Railay Beach Restaurant was good. Tasty and good price. You can take a walk on the road inside the beach, where you have to be careful of monkeys and mosquitoes.

Beautiful beach but very noisy because of the boats...also noise from construction work. I can not relax at all. And because of coniferous trees the beach is dirty. I would leave immediately but I spent 200 baht for the boat to get here

The Mecca of rock climbers. Railay Beach is truly one of Thailand’s hidden gems! Nestled amidst towering limestone cliffs, the beach offers an unparalleled blend of serenity and scenic beauty. The emerald waters gently lap against the powdery white sands, creating a tranquil ambiance perfect for relaxation. Adventurers can also explore the nearby caves or take up rock climbing for an added thrill. The local food stalls serve delicious Thai cuisine, and the sunsets? Absolutely breathtaking! A must-visit for anyone traveling to Krabi.

BE WARNED!!!! Its a beautiful lay back island with one big problem. If your looking to get a good sleep at night you won’t as the long tail boats run pretty much 24/7. It’s like staying at race track all they the night. You live and you learn that’s why I’m writing so other people don’t ruin there holiday

Beautiful beach and wowie wow the sights getting there by longtail boat. Bring your csmera!! Cute little town with lots of bars and food...and some shopping. You can rent kayaks and go right to the gorgeous rock formations. No gov't docking fee. Took 10 min from Ao Nang...its a Must go to!!

The sunset from the Railay West Beach is really really spectacular. But the loud music and party crowd kind of spoil it all. Still, it is worth watching once but I prefer the quieter Phra Nang Beach for sunset which is just a short walk away. We also caught the boat to Ao Nang from this beach. There is no fixed schedule and the boats depart once there are enough people to fill it!

Nice. Great for rock climbing and kayaking. Great scenery and has a few walks. Great sunsets. Only accessible by boat or walking from the next beach (after a boat there). Not that relaxing or chilled and a little crowded with average restaurants and bars. Gets noisy with all the boats going in and out at times. Has a mix of functional and backpacker accommodation and resorts. Will only go back for rock climbing.

The scenery is absolutely amazing, water is hot even in Jan. It's nice that u have some amenity with lots of places to eat and drink. Unfortunately the whole thing is pretty much ruined by the fact that they use this amazing beach as a port for the ancient petrol boats they use that pollute the water with oil, air with huge amounts of fumes (which u can actually smell from when u are in the water) and constant petrol engine noise which fills the entire beach. It's insane that they let this happen when literally behind this beach, there is an actual dock. Apart from this, if u have some extra time to spare you can go for a wander on the paved foot paths to explore some hidden gems and if u are into snorkeling, you should check out the left hand side of the beach, around the cliff. There's an actual cave where you can swim through or kayak through. Overall, if you can get over the freaking boats, it's an amazing place.

Remote but very enjoyable even although it was raining for most of the time. Relaxing environment with beaches on the west and east sides. There were quite a number of persons attempting to rock climb. Also a few resorts. We had a nice pizza at a small restaurant halfway between west and each beaches. We had a great time there and would recommend the boat travel to this area highly.

Definitely the best beach with white sand and beautiful see colour. Beach also has whole street with everything that you need for cozy day. Last longtail boat goes at 18h but you can stay longer to see sunset and then go to Ao Nang beach with other longtail boats that will charge you 50 Bahts ekstra per person. Last will go at 19h.

This place has been a favorite stop on our itinerary. The beach is beautiful, and the scenery is unreal. We hiked up to the lookout, and enjoyed the amazing jungle view. It took about ten minutes. It is a bit challenging at some spots so I wouldn't recommend it for children or the elderly. After that we walked back towards the cave. On the way we ran into a monkey family. They were adorable but very aggressive. Do not go by them if you have food or flashy jewelry. They will walk down, grab it out of your hands or try to climb you and rip it off your body. If you use common sense, it will be a great opportunity to see them play with each other. On to the cave, it was 100 baut and totally worth it. It's short, but very beautiful.

  • 5/5 Michele M. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely phenomenal. You have a great selection of resorts, and the beaches are not too crowded and extremely well kept. Great if you are looking for somewhere to stay away from the crowds. It is very easy to get to and from the airport, and you'll find a variety of other islands you can visit for a day trip if you want. I suggest to avoid Phi Phi Islands as they are a gigantic tourist trap. + Great for a romantic getaway + Quiet, but very well serviced + Easy to get to - Relatively small, so don't spend more that 4 days - some of the restaurants can be meh, so make sure you look around before you stop
