Worth a visit to support these animals! 200 Baht donation for the daily tour. They also have a gift shop where your money goes straight to the care of the animals. They really care for them. Many of them were abandoned, surrendered or found hurt by motor accidents or people (disgusting humans!!) They try their best to educate the public that animals need love and are not "dirty" which is what many people believe. They perform surgeries, neutering and spaying, give all the animals the shots they need. They are the reason why there are so many happy & healthy animals on Ko Lanta. They also need volunteers. Since Covid they don’t have as many so if you can spare the time, please reach out to help volunteer during your stay here! They are doing hard work and need all the support! ♥️♥️🙏🙏🐱🐶

Great experience with truly passionate people who love to take care of animals and improve animal welfare around the Koh Lanta island and nearby locations as well. They take really good care including medical and psychological help for animals and give chance to take tour of the facilities so you can see first-hand how it all looks like back stage. Juni had so much courage to take steps that created Lanta Animal Welfare and took it to where it is now which is just amazing place carrying help and goodness. You can visit and see for yourself and maybe come back with another member of family

This place is doing important work. I recommend to visit and see it your self. Their operation is depending of the donations, so everyone who has some extra money, or even some extra clothes / linens to spare should consider donating. Place seems quite popular for for tourists and locals, so best to book a tour in advance and be on time when the tour starts. You get to pet the cats and dogs, hear some stories why and how people are working there. In one hand it is bit sad to hear the tragic stories, but on the other hand there are so many heart worming happy ends. These guys are heroes and they don't get the appreciation that they would deserve <3

An amazing morning at this amazing place. It is such a clean and well thought-out establishment, with staff & volunteers that clearly care so deeply for the animals. The animals look so well & I couldn’t believe how the whole place smelled so good with that amount of animals in it! Stephen, our tour guide was really informative and passionate & we even had some hands on time with Elmo & Brandy - two gorgeous dogs. It is so well organised & it was lovely seeing the feeding, meds & walking lists for each individual animal - such personalised care. We wish we could have donated more but it’s impossible on a backpackers budget! But when we are home we will consider either sponsorship or adopting our own Lanta kitty.

A MUST for animal lovers! I went there for a visit this morning and ended up doing the tour with Steven. (every day at 10:45) He showed us all around; where the animals stay, the kitchen where their food is prepared and the clinic. The sanctuary is very organised, clean and the cats and dogs have a lot of space. Thanks for putting effort in taking care of these (now happy) animals and to make the World a better place! Adopt or support with a donation if you can :) I'll come definetly back!!!!

The work they are doing are essential and amazing to the surrounding area. If you're in Koh Lanta, you have to visit and see all the lovely cats and dogs. 200baht per person and they currently only run 1 tour a day at 10:45 due to covid.

Lanta Animal Welfare was an amazing place to visit. They do so much for these vulnerable animals and give them a better life. A lot of these dogs and cats have been in life threatening conditions, so to see them in the great condition that they are today was truly touching. All of the staff and volunteers were great to speak to about information on each animal and were all really positive people. You could really tell that these people love doing what they do. Would recommend anyone to come here to learn more about the work they are doing for these animals and the island itself, as well as potentially finding a new best friend to take home!

Really great organisation!!! The tour was done by their general manager and they kindly asked a small donation of 200 baht, which is sort of their only income (besides the cooking school), since they don't get any support from the government. You can see that they really care about the animals! They rescue wounded street dogs and cats and nurture them back to a healthy state. After that the animals are put up for adoption. An amazing initiative and definitely worth a visit

I am a big animal lover, and when I realised I was staying near a welfare centre during a trip to Thailand was initially a little sceptical that I could be walking into a tourist trap with awful conditions for the animals… I was so wrong! This place is nothing short of incredible. The work they do on koh lanta and the whole of Thailand for poorly animals & to educate the community is amazing, the animals are so well cared for, it is a little emotional seeing some of the more poorly dogs & cats but knowing they are in great hands and being taken care of is so heart warming. If it wasn’t for the fact we rent and can’t have a dog I would of taken about 3 home with me! Please support this place and help them to continue the amazing work they do .

Most wonderful animal sanctuary, so much space for every animal and all of them are taken care of with a lot of love by all the employees and volunteers. It is great to see all the effort that is put into helping all the street dogs and cats on the island. Another great thing: they help everybody who brings a hurt animal there without charging money if the people don't have any. They rely exclusively on sponsors and donations. If you have the chance, please go and visit the tour through the clinic (10:45 am) and donate a bit of money, they absolutely deserve it.

Lanta Animal Welfare is such a great thing and the people there are doing their best to help local animals. It’s beautiful to see how big their impact is on the health of the animals living there. If you are in Ko Lanta please drop by, take the tour and leave a small donation so the team can keep up their amazing work!

As a family of 4 we booked a tour here in April and highly recommend it. Extremely informative and an excellent centre who clearly take great care of their animals and pride in what they do. We enjoyed playing with the cats and meeting a few of their dogs plus wandering through the whole centre learning about their work. We would have loved to have helped transport a cat or dog to their forever home in Europe but sadly the dates didn't work out. Great work!

Marika is a wonderful tourguide and you notice she has a real heart for the animals. She is e real cat lady/dog mom. The information you get during the tour is so valuable and it’s heartwarming to know there is a team working hard to help the cats/dogs and cures/vaccinates them. If you are on Koh Lanta, give Lanta Animal Welfare a visit. You won’t regret it! The tour can be booked online. We recommend doing it in advance as there is a lot of interest!

Please come here, they do an amazing thing for the animals here on Koh Lanta and need all the help they can get. We actually adopted a cat here last year and it was one of the best things we did. You will not be disappointed. Oh and the cakes are good too. Our Lanta girl!!!

Lanta Animal Welfare does a fantastic job to help all the poor street dogs and cats in Koh Lanta ( and several other islands etc. with whom they collaborate). We attended a daily visit and we could see a lot of their daily work and behind the scenes. You can see that everything they do - they do it for the animals and with their hearts. Thanks for that 🥰

They’re truly doing such amazing work on the island, and they’re expanding their impact to other regions within Thailand. I strongly recommend that you pop in for a tour to learn, and even see if there’s an opportunity to help walk dogs or see if you can sign up to be a flight volunteer and chaperone an animal back to its new owner. Of course, if you’re open to adopting yourself, even better! Totally recommend going to check it out!

Great work! It’s a place in which volunteers take care of animals who are in need of medical treatment or just a new home. They really care about the animals and it’s worth a visit. We went there twice cause we fell in love with a cat we got to meet while we spent time in the kitty city. We’ll definitely come back!

Took the tour advertised on their website. The tour was very well organized, the guide explained in detail about the history of the establishment and the rescue animal situation on Lanta. I was very impressed with the work they have accomplished on the island. The donation of 250baht for this tour was very well worth it. The animals had space to roam, the clinic was clean and everything was organized. Highly recommend the tour!

We loved our experience at the Lanta Animal Welfare. We took the tour and found it to be good insight into what it takes to help the animals of Koh Lanta, as well as surrounding parts of Thailand. We appreciated seeing the happy animals and heartwarming stories, as well as some of the tougher realities of animal rescue and rehabilitation that can be hard to face. You can tell these people really care and dedicate themselves.

They are doing a fantastic job treating & sterilizing stray cats and dogs on the island as well as educating the island on better animal care and also have a great and easy adoption program. They do daily tours at 10:45am (donation fee of 200 baht) and it was a fantastic time! They walked us through the whole facility and showed us the different parts of the center, let us learn in detail about animals who were treated and adopted here and interact with animals there now. They are doing really amazing work. The founder also founded a cooking school called Time for Lime in which profits are used to sponsor the animal shelter. There is also a volunteer program as well. Looks like they have made a huge positive impact the years they have been here. Super recommend as a place to visit 😊 They were hit hard by Covid so make sure to stop by and support if you can!

Cannot recommend enough a visit to this place while you’re in Lanta. You can genuinely see the impressive hard work and care that Junie and her team have put into the shelter and their spaying/vaccination initiatives. Junie also started Time for Lime - the first cooking school on the island - to help fund the shelter, and it’s a beautiful space next door! We immediately booked ourselves into a class the very next day. If you’re staying nearby you may be lucky enough to see members of the team taking some of the dogs for beach walks in the morning; the pups look so happy.

The highlight of my Lanta adventure. The people who work and volunteer here are doing important work and obviously care so much about helping the local animal population. A small 200 baht donation for a tour (~an hour) was the best 200 baht ever spent. I would recommend this to people of all ages for a unique and memorable experience

We did a tour of the animal welfare centre. I was unsure if a tour is good for the animals but their space was respected and the tour is limited to 20 people so that it is not overcrowded. The work this sanctuary does is so important and it needs the awareness that comes from these tours. It is highly recommended. I had a young child with me and she felt comfortable too.

Wonderful rescue shelter, doing wonderful things for the cats and dogs on Koh Lanta and beyond! Definitely go for a tour to find about about what they do. Very inspiring and definitely worth a visit! I advise bringing some cash as they have a little shop with some nice stuff to buy :)

A wonderful thing to come and do to show support for this non profitable organisation for the dogs & cats here. To see their road to recovery and happiness was truly amazing, do come and visit and perhaps adopt! Thank you for what you're doing guys ❤️

Lanta Animal Welfare is definitely worth visiting while on Koh Lanta. You need to book a tour, and they last approximately 1 hour. During the tour you find out about the history of the organisation and the impact of their work. You get to spend time in Kitty City, see the dog yards, the vet clinic and training area. In the training area you get to meet some of the dogs and/or puppies. There is also a gift shop, information on sponsoring and adopting animals, and opportunities to find out about volunteering for them.

  • 5/5 Sphoorti 3 months ago on Google New
I took their tour and it was easily one of the best things I did in Lanta! The organization has saved, treated, rehabilitated more than 10,000 dogs and cats and helped many of them get adopted. It was humbling to see the work that goes into maintaining their facilities and staff, and how they use the funds to build a safe space for animals to heal and trust humans again. I’d definitely recommend doing the tour! They also have a cooking class — time for lime — and all its earnings are used to run the welfare. So you can do either of those to support the animals.

Such a wonderful place helping such sick and injured dogs and cats. We had a great tour guide (I believe his name was Joe) who showed us round and explained why some of the animals were in their care. Really such a lovely place that needs more people visiting and donating and adopting if possible. Cannot recommend enough that you visit.

It’s really good what they are doing for the dogs and cats. I don’t feel it was a 5/5 experience though. It was quite boring and very focussed on adopting the animals. Struggling to see how this is the number one best thing to do in Koh Lanta.

Great place and a great mission. In kitty city you can play with the cats and buy a smoothie. The tour is where you'll see the dogs that are on the mend but you can't play with them. Your donations help the effort to neuter dogs and cats across many islands, which is a good thing.

Great place for the cats and dogs living there! We went there around 10 in the morning, you can walk dogs until 11 so we did that and it was great, the dogs were generally really good. What an AMAZING, special place to visit while in Southern Thailand! The love and care provided to the animals in need here on Koh Lanta is INCREDIBLE. The locals and volunteers from all over the world that help here, have so much love and passion for taking care of the animals. Whether it's a visit to kitty city, volunteering to dog walk or spending a day helping on site, being a sponsor for an animal in need of critical care or adopting a new furry friend to bring home with you, there is something for everyone here, a must visit! The staff are doing incredible work to stop overpopulation of stray cats and dogs, plus finding the forever homes for the ones that have been rescued, some from terrible circumstances. Highly recommended for an afternoon out of the sun on a hot day; don't miss this while visiting Koh Lanta! 🐾

(Translated by Google) When we arrived there was unfortunately no guide on site. We wanted to go to the dogs but apparently you have to book a tour that we didn't know about so we could only go to the cat house. Since we were interested in the cooking class, did we ask ourselves until we became a disinterested employee? Came and told us that the course costs 4000 baht. That is almost 110 euros. Other cooking schools don't even cost half. Donations or not for the condition of the plant is apparently incorrectly calculated. All in all, very commercial and rip off. Good idea but unfortunately implemented incorrectly.

A great cause to defend, adopt, sponsor, or just come and visit the animals at the kitty café or in the refuge! Bravo to all and good luck for the future! We spent the morning volunteering at the sanctuary. We walked the dogs & prepared their food & fed them. What they do is amazing! I wish i could take all the dogs home!

👍👍 Easily accessible beautiful beach. Free entrance, and a lots of shade early in the day. West facing beach so it’s perfect for sunsets. The waves are mellow since it’s a small bay. There is a little shack selling cold drinks.

🫤 Beware of broken bottles hidden in a sand. Within 15 min walk I have collected many bottle pieces. Wear shoes. Along the beach are many pubs. A lot of sharp stones in the water.

🫤 Bad experience! We booked a kayaking tour with Lanta kayaking on Koh Lanta and it was a complete disaster. Our guide couldn't speak a word of English despite it being advertised online. We were promised a visit to a cave in the mangroves which not happened. The guide was also a terrible paddler, cau...

👍👍 Ca. 2 Monate alter Wasserpark. Der Wasserpark ist Teil eines Resorts, kann aber von Tagesgästen genutzt werden. Das Resort liegt an der Strasse nach Old Town nicht weit vom Long Beach. Verschiedene Rutschen, einige sehr schnell, andere ganz normal lassen Kinderaugen strahlen. Für Kleinkinder und Ba...

👍👍 Nice secluded beach, easy reachable from "Beautiful Beach" by nice grassy pathwalk (50 m?). You can drive scooter literally 10 m from the gintare beach. During the day we met only couple of people and for some time we were there alone. Some of the people were sunbathing topless behind rocks surround...
