I'm going to give as honest review of this resort as I can. Firstly, when we went here, it rained for the whole holiday, which wasn't very pleasant, but that's not the resort's fault. However, there could have been some services that worked to make our stay more comfortable. My view is that when this resort first opened and everything was new, it would've been a really good place to come. The room was still spacious, clean and had good decor. However, you could tell that it was tired and needed bringing up to date. As well as this, our mattress was so hard, it started to make my back ache. This was not good. Also, there was a large TV in the room but when switched on, couldn't connect to any channels, not even local ones! So this was a real problem when you're stuck inside because of the rain. Also, the main restaurant and coffee bar was being rebuilt, and we had to travel to another resort for breakfast! The biggest plus point of the resort were the two swimming pools, which were good fun, and we were wet anyway! Lastly, we decided to head back to Bangkok 2-days early because of the weather. Having being advised by reception to email the resort to see if we could get a credit for the last 2-days (2-nights free, not a refund), I received NO reply from them, which is really poor customer service. In conclusion, this may have been a top class resort in its day, but it's pretty tired now. Would I come back in better weather to re-evaluate my review? Well, if I get my 2-days credit, i'll let you know ;-)

I wouldn't recommend at least till the restaurant renovation is completed as it spoils the ambience when arriving the hotel. We were confused seeing the dirty front if we were fooled with some other photos but we were relaxed when we saw the rooms as it was clean and looks modern. We had booked a Jacuzzi villa and the jacuzzi was so relaxing. Lighting was very less in the walking area and looks little scary at night.

Great location and room is reasonable and clean. The staff did a great job in cleaning and making it up. A few issues which no-one seems to care about -the hotel was not helpful when I called asking about arriving from Krabi. They said go to Ao Nang pier and pay 100thb and wait in line for 8 people to join the boat. Despite this, a thai friend was able to get a hotel boat transfer. In my opinion - this is a Ponzi scheme designed to make tourists pay money. -There are approx 8 kayaks at the front of the hotel (advertised as free with the hotel) which the staff claim are all ā€˜brokenā€™. I informed the staff that I checked them and in my opinion they are very safe (Iā€™ve been kayaking in Australia all my life). They simply said no and to go next door and rent one. In my opinion - this means 1 of 2 things. The staff are just lazy or it supports my ponzi scheme theory. -wi-fi did not work the entire stay. Donā€™t plan on ā€˜working from homeā€™

A nice resort with fabulous imagines! A good place where you can be relax and from where you can explore many other islands. The room is clean with a pleasant smell. The bed linen is changed every 3 days and the towels are cleaned daily. The staff is really very kind and smiling. The breakfast it's enough to keep you from swimming with pleasure or rowing with energy around the island! I warmly recommend the place. On WS there are two places where you can get a very good massage.

I don't recommend staying here due to the fact all rooms are filled with mold. A staff member told me all rooms have it, they are aware of the problem but do nothing to take care of it. This is very dangerous especially when staying with kids or senior people who have an weakened immune systems.

Wonderful relaxing resort we loved it here, the garden, pool and early Breakfast watching the Beach come alive was a highlight to every day , the Sunsets are spectacular too. The bed's are typical for Thailand and Very Hard, but getting up early was the best time for Breakfast and to take in the Morning Beach. Monkey's also frequently walk through the gardens and pool area which was very entertaining. Just don't give them a chance to steal your food. Staff we're extremely friendly and very helpful too. We didn't want to leave.

I wish I could give zero stars in this rating. We stayed there for 4 nights as we were recommended to spend sometime there, Railay beach, betten than going to Phuket. The beach is dirty and the water is full of oil and rests of dead animals and other waste. The views are pretty but not enough for spending 4 full days there. On top of that this Hotel should be downgraded as a hostel for backpackers. Dirty rooms with mildew in the rooms, in the curtains, on the walls of the bathroom and also the showers do not work well. The bedding and towels were torn, the pool did not work properly: the jacuzzi and air blower were out of order. The pool was always dirty as they have no filter system to clean it so they usually do manually at night. Besides, the doors of the room did not close as there were many holes where mosquitos were coming in and out. The breakfast is really disgusting without any hygiene condions in place. Croisants and pastries with insects, the worst artificial juice I've ever tried and many more things. Endless complaints given to our agency which did nothing. I only recommend this place if you want to ruin your holidays

There is currently no coffee shop, restaurant or spa or any facilities at the Railay Village and Spa. Despite having our email address and phone number we were not informed about this before we arrived at the resort This is a dry hotel so there is no bar or alcohol served, this is not made explicit in adverts The TV did not work, nor did the plug in the sink and weā€™re not fixed despite asking daily. The room and gardens were very pleasant but we were disappointed by our stay, particularly as the management made no attempt to discuss our concerns with us until the last day

Location location location right on the beach on the west side for spectacular views of the sunset and fire shows. Spacious comfortable rooms friendly helpful staff. The tv channels are only in Thai but I didnā€™t come to Railay Beach to watch tv so not a problem for me. The breakfast that was included could use improvement. This was not a concern for me either. Thereā€™s lots of delicious food to enjoy on Railay Beach. Overall a gorgeous resort with swimming pools as you walk towards the east side. I highly recommend staying here. I plan to stay here again whenever I return to Railay.

This was a really nice resort for our 3 day stay at Railey beach. Great location and friendly staff. We also spent quite some time at the pool, surrounded by flowers and green plants.

As I walk in to the resort I can see the sands and dust everywhere. The room was really poor and they still use the old kind of lock which is hard to open, the room wasnā€™t modern the floor was old and the jacuzzi was broken, the tiles were also broken. The bathroom was ok but not what I expected. The service was really bad, at first it was good because the other lady was at the front counter but they swapped. The first lady allowed me to go to the breakfast place even though itā€™s 10am but the other one didnā€™t. She said someone took our coupons, and turns out it was the other room. They said still you cant go itā€™s 10am. Last time people were still eating at 10am and the breakfast place did not close yet. I expect more from this price both service and quality. I will never come back again and I do not recommend this place it should be my holiday but it turned into a disaster just because of the hotel.

They ā€œforgot to mentionā€ that the whole beach front was being redone. Noise and lack of atmosphere from that section of the hotel. Staff was nice! Room was clean. This is the place to be if going economy style and Railay, but low score due the construction and lack of info - not cool.

Good location, a nice convenient spot access to the waling street and sunset view For the price we pay for the hotel, the room is dated, the water pressure is poor and breakfast is very "sad" - no refill, little variety, staff was not attentive, sadly coffee is terrible. I hope the hotel can improve, as it is a really nice environment

Experience started out fine by dropping the car off and the connection to the boat.. went downhill from there, resort is dirty and grubby, photos' misleading, rooms are fine inside, outside grubby, air con didn't work at first villa, had to be moved the next day, the breakfast is cheap and terrible, area by beach grubby and service almost non-existent, checking out no one would answer the phone, woman barked at me for not calling first, i told her we did.. shocking, anyhow hopped on the boat leaving the island and it was all good again. Railay Beach Village ( not the resort i have just discussed ) is dirty and grubby with exception of Rayavadee. It is beautiful as always but booked out. Railay Village Resort - no way !

It is a very nice place with a lot of happening at most times. In the post-Covid-19 era you can still find calm mornings or evenings when you can be perfectly alone, though. The breakfasts included in our deal at the resort were not the best ones (ie coffee is sad), but you can always improve your gustatory experience at many small restaurants on the Walking Road. You can hike, climb, swim, explore and generally have a great time.

Great location, the pool at the back is fantastic. The rooms are a good size, clean and nice; but a little old. The restaurant seems like it needs updating a bit. We only ate here for breakfast, the other options nearby seemed better.

If you are looking for an actual 4-star resort steer clear of this hotel. We just got here and it is way understaff, the staff barely acknowledged us when we got here, did not provide us with transportation from Ao nang pier and literally let us get ripped off/scammed. Also, the rooms definitely need an update since everything smells old and itā€™s extremely hot. Way overpriced also. So far it has been the worst part of our trip. *edit: Although it wasnā€™t the best hotel of our trip and I still stand by the fact that itā€™s not near being a 4-star hotel, the location in Railay is superb. The room was actually nice once we opened the doors and windows and let the air conditioner run for a while. However there were areas of the room, like the closet, that needed maintenance and cleaning, there was no luggage caddy, more water needs to be included in each room, etc. we should not need to call front desk for these things. Also, if you have guests coming, have the room tready (i.e. open it and let the air flow so it doesnā€™t smell like itā€™s vern closed for years, turn on the air conditioner before arrival so itā€™s not a sauna when your guests walk in the room, etc.) The hotel was definitely understaffed, so the service was poor, but itā€™s clean and well maintained. There was no golf cart in sight and although we scheduled a drop off in advanced at the pier, the luggage was carried by a staff member in a pull cart (we honestly donā€™t mind walking to the pier, but donā€™t say thereā€™s a golf cart service if itā€™s not true). Anyhow, I believe the hotel needs to get it together when it comes to guest arrival since we were never contacted by the hotel prior to arrival or given arrival instructions or offered to be picked up anywhere, unlike all the other hotels we stayed at. We actually took a boat at the correct pier, ao nam mao pier. It is poorly lit, there was no transportation from the hotel here, and you get dropped off far from the hotel at Railay, so I donā€™t even know why they recommend that you take the boat at this pier. This issue with arrival that set a negative tone to our stay can be solved if the hotel communicated with guests beforehand, schedules pickup with a third party long tail boat for the guests at either ao nang or ao nam mao piers, and has someone waiting for the luggage once you arrive at Railay. That will save guests from an unsavory and quite scary experience at the pier, particularly if they arrive at night and protect them from scammers or people trying to take advantage of them.

First and foremost, Iā€™ll start by saying that I love Railay Beach and this resort is in the perfect location on Railay West Beach from where you can access the walking street, the beach bars at the end of the walking street and stunning sunsets. The hotelā€™s two swimming pools are an oasis and the resort is very well landscaped and maintained. I loved my villa (with jacuzzi) and actually also loved the presence of the monkeys which are everywhere on Railay. The room was well equipped, had all amenities including a reasonably priced mini bar, beach bag, beach towels etc. I loved the front porch with the water lily pond and the frogs added to the feeling of being in a nature resort. All in all, Iā€™d rate this resort pretty high. I did have a few issues however - on the first day, housekeeping didnā€™t come to service the room until after 3pm which was really not acceptable and I had to really kick up a fuss with reception to get it sorted (I was unwell on this day and wanted to sleep undisturbed). On the second day housekeeping forgot to replace the toilet rolls but by day 3 things were fine. Another gripe is the breakfast - it really wasnā€™t great. The coffee from the machine was actually quite disgusting and the food options from the buffet were poor both in choice and quality. Thankfully the egg station kept me happy but I would strongly suggest that the hotel up their game with their breakfast offering. Neither the Thai nor western options were particularly enjoyable. My biggest issue though was the fact that the side of the resort in which I was located backed into the walking street meaning that until around midnight, you could hear the music and noise from the bars on the walking street. I heard other guests complain to reception about this but sadly nothing could/was to be done - be warned therefor that if staying in rooms on the left side of the resort (when walking away from the beach) you will likely struggle to sleep before midnight.

This is a beautiful resort located on the western side of Railay Beach, conveniently located next to the western beach for beautiful sunset views and near the bars and restaurants of the town. The resort itself is kept up to date, clean, comfortable beds, large room and bathroom, charming atmosphere, where you can see the monkeys in the trees. I was very happy with my three night stay here in early November.

My stay at Railay Village Resort was quite enjoyable. The resort itself is really nice, offering comfortable accommodations and good facilities. During our visit, there was some construction going on, but it was clear that this was just a temporary situation and didn't significantly detract from the overall experience. While Railay itself is often hyped for its stunning views and unique location, in our opinion, it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations set by some reviews. It's undoubtedly beautiful, but the reality didn't match the hype for us. Additionally, the area can get super busy at times, which might affect the experience for those seeking a more serene getaway. Overall, Railay Village Resort is a nice place to stay if you're visiting the area. The resort provides a comfortable base to explore Railay, even if the destination itself might not be as extraordinary as some suggest.

Absolutely loved it !!! The room was beautiful!! The beach is a short walk away and so is the main road for all your eating and shopping needs ! Also massages and plenty of bars ! Everything you need to have the best time in railay is right there !

Rooms are little villages, room is huge, has a separate space for the jacuzzi and comes with lots of amenities, breakfasts was good, needs a bit more of variety but let's be realistic, bringing food to this part of the island that is only accessible trough boat it's no easy task. The hotel it's right in front of the beak with huge cliff on the left side, views are awesome. It gets really calm after 6pm when people that don't stay here on Railay returns to their islands, so you basically have the whole place for yourselves. Everything is close, no more than 10 min walk, you have right next to the hotel a street with lots of restaurants bars and commerce.

Top location and great garden with lizards, monkeys, frogs etc. Breakfast with a good selection, great staff. Rooms a little older than the pictures might suggest, as can be seen from dirty curtains, worn furniture or some broken items here and there. But that doesn't detract from the stay. Air conditioning sufficiently cold and WiFi signal good. Rooms close to the pool.

  • 4/5 Jess G. 7 months ago on Google
We stayed in jacuzzi villa 1015 which was just perfect....beside the hotel restaurant and mere steps away from the railay walking street where food is aplenty, but still very private and surrounded by lush vegetation, a lovely little pond, and the sound of friendly frogs at night. The larger of the 2 hotel swimming pools was just lovely, long and in a very beautiful setting....again, nature at its best. The hotel breakfast was a good mix of local Thai food and western fare. Breakfast with a breathtaking view of the limestone cliffs by the sea was priceless. The room itself was huge and I simply loved the jacuzzi ... very strong jets and warm water. The only room for improvement would be the front desk staff....a less apathetic and more customer-centric, obliging and friendly demeanour would have made it perfect. Nonetheless, we really enjoyed our stay here.

LITERAL PARADISE. Couldn't believe it. Beautiful & spacious accommodations, gorgeous pools, and right by the beach. Stunning beach front cafe with shade trees over you. Perfect location in unbelievable Railay Bay. And right next to all the shops, bars, and restaurants.

Today is the last day of my stay in Railay and this resort. As I write this review, I am feeling sad to leave this place. The resort itself is beautiful. The staff is super nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and good. The best part of the resort is its location right at the beach and it's restaurant. The food is also very good and the staff is ok to make customized dishes for vegetarian. PS: if you want to work from here...the wifi in the room is good as well. The resort is located right next to the market as well. Overall this place is a must stay. Will be coming back here soon.

Very disappointed with our first night at Railay Village Resort. No hot water, tv and telephone donā€™t work, construction noise on beach and a hard bed that you can feel the coils through (we literally checked to see if we were sleeping on a box spring). Worst place we have stayed in Thailand. No wonder they donā€™t allow refunds - because everyone would change locations after they arrive. Travelers be warned.

  • 4/5 Noah L. 11 months ago on Google
Stayed here for a night. The hotel is only accessible by longtail boat, which makes for a fun experience, but also means it's a process if you need to leave the resort for any reason. There are what seems like hundreds of restaurants on the street connecting both sides of the resort. Our air conditioning was broken, but the staff arrived within 5 minutes of our call and fixed it in no time. Breakfast is served as a buffet on the beach in the morning, and the food tasted good.

Two adults with two teens. We booked two rooms for 10 nights and have absolutely loved our stay. Yes there are some renovations being done at the front but this is ok. The location is superb. Having breakfast everyday looking out to the ocean is amazing. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous Thai style. The pools are peaceful and all around are trees, plants and fresh air. The staff are super friendly. Food is ok. Could possibly be better at the price charged but I guess when dining you are also paying for the location and view. It is the most relaxing place Iā€™ve ever stayed.

  • 1/5 Treena W. 1 year ago on Google
Didnā€™t get to visit as I cancelled my booking of 2 rooms for 6 nights over Christmas as the hotel failed to reply to any of my emails, Instagram messages or Facebook comments. Absolutely shockingly bad customer service. I was asking for reassurance that the building works would be completed in time for our stay. I feel that they were waiting for the final payment to be made so that it was impossible for us to cancel without losing over Ā£1200. I would book with caution

  • 2/5 Prudence E. 1 year ago on Google
Was pretty disappointed by this place given the price and 4 star rating. We were not told about the renovation of the front area prior to arriving. The villas are in dire need of some renovations too though - bathroom looked dirty with stains everywhere and shower was not good. Bed is also extremely hard. Biggest positive was the location which can't be beaten really.

  • 4/5 Derek R. 1 year ago on Google
Just left this resort. Yes the main restaurant is under construction. It should be done by Christmas as per the staff. That said, youā€™re still treated to a great breakfast next door which is buffet style and on the beach. Rooms are tired and beds are hard, but youā€™re going here for the location. Steps to the beach and the amazing staff make it that much more special. The transfer by the hotel from Krabi airport was also seamless and very easy. Rooms The rooms are definitely a bit tired and dated. Itā€™s a ā€œgreenā€ resort so sometimes the water isnā€™t available. We had a pool villa which was large and comfortable. One note - the beds are pretty hard Location Youā€™re staying here for the location. You can walk out onto the beach and are a few steps away from the main strip where there are many places to eat. Service The staff here are amazing. Super accommodating and friendly.

  • 4/5 Kevin W. 1 year ago on Google
Clean and helpful staff but the room themselves were a bit old. Nothing fancy and pricy for Krabi area. Maybe it's just railay? Breakfast was passable and our room was deep into the lands but the exit was at the beach. So we had to walk a bit extra since if we wanted to go to railay east but still very manageable as the island was small. Overall just removing some stars for the value given the price point, even for railay

  • 5/5 Mercedes C. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice and big rooms, well located and super friendly staff. Well taken care, and good policies about recycling, saw the staff separating the trash and no unnecessary plastic for everything like most of places in Thailand.

Itā€™s a good place for a night but no more. Breakfast is not good. Restaurant is not good. Staff is very helpful and nice but place is old. Pillows are really bad, ac is barely working. Monkeys are everywhere. Sunsets are priceless.

I am really disappointed. I made a booking over booking.com - but because I am pregnant now i am not allowed to fly to Thailand. I informed the Railay Village Resort an Spa and sent them my doctor's certification, and asked to please refund my booking. They ignored all my e-mails! I think this is very bad service! So this public post is my last try to get a refund for my booking.

  • 4/5 Ankit A. 1 year ago on Google
The location is perfectly beside the night market and the railay beach. It also has an exit to the east side of railay pier. In terms of location the property is perfect. The rooms however are preety inside . The rooms we chose were pool view rooms which were distant from the beach and the walk is bit scary. Rest they have all amenities and the swimming pool is also beautiful.

The only issue I had with this place was the bed was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable otherwise this place is an actual beach paradise. Service was great and helpful. The location cannot be beat I mean rain or sun the views here are incredible

Room is cleaned and big. Swimming pool is nice and relaxing. Beach in front of the hotel is cleaned and has a great view. Easy to walk along Railay East and West. The place is quite quiet during Covid-19. Free boat service once a day at noon as requested. Staff is friendly but breakfast is not variety and kind of slow prepared. WIFI is not good in the room but ok at front desk.

  • 2/5 Cem Y. 4 years ago on Google
Cant recommend and would not stay again. Food options poor, especially mornings. 'Juices' are just water, sugar, and flavouring. Very highly priced based on the rather nice location. Rooms are spacious and nice but showers really need a deep clean/replacement. Swimming pool and related area is gorgeous, but limited seating in that area. Staff are generally helpful. Room walls are wafer thin, so make sure to get a room segregated from others. If the rooms were updated and the food quality increased it might get a better review. It's an okay place but for the premium price it feels quite cheap.

We stayed at the resort from March 27 to April 2, and when we arrived, the pool was very dirty and it was bearly impossible to see the buttum. At March 31 we got a message, that the pool would be closed at April 1 due to technical problems. But at April 2 nothing was fixet. If you want to stay here, call them and ask if the main pool is clear and ready to use! Rooms are ok - but needs a total udgrade, it's not a luxuary resort anymore. The sorroundings is very beatifull and breakfast too. Restaurant is placed at a perfect spot on the beach.

  • 5/5 Erika W. 2 years ago on Google
This is a stunning resort with a wonderful staff. It is located right on the beach with a perfect walking street nearby for cheaper snacks, drinks, and Thai cuisine. The staff were so helpful when it came to booking taxis, trips, and boat rides. The rooms are amazing and I loved being on the beach surrounded by monkeys and the limestone mountains. Overall, an amazing experience and worth every penny.
