Jellyfish fishermen leave tentacles in water as they fish which sting anyone who attempts to swim. This new industry will ruin the tourist business. I predict in a couple years no one will want to come here to enjoy the beaches. They also come dangerously close to shore irregardless of people in the water.

Best beach on Koh Lanta. Sand is soft, water is calm and deep (perfect for swimming), and there are tons of places along the shore to stop and grab a drink. The beach is huge and there is plenty of room. Never gets too crowded or dirty. Only downside is that it's hard to find some shade! Pack a beach umbrella if you're able! If not, taking a break at one of the many bars will do just fine.

Phra Ae Beach was a beautiful beach to visit for refreshing and clear water. Spent four days and it was never crowded. You could always find a spot to set your towel down. There are plenty of restaurants and bars if you get hungry, and/or need an ice cold beverage. You do t have to worry about much or any boats, there were needlefish swimming around, a few sea cucumbers, and some pretty birds flying around. It’s nice to find a clean beach, no loud music, just the sounds of the gentle waves, and the waters temperature was warm and inviting. It’s also an easy beach or area to use as a base to talk to other beaches.

Good beach. Long, with many bars and restaurants and not crowded. Can get windy and there are tiny medusas sometimes but waaay better than crowded Phi Phi or Phuket.

Lovely beach - we spent 4 wonderful days doing literally nothing at this beach. I kept expecting it to be busy but it was so chilled. The food is a little pricey at the beach restaurants - expect between 80-200 baht for a noodle dish, with no real difference between them. We spent our days on the hammocks at Lym's Bar and Restaurant, which is attached to the Long Beach Chalet Hotel (which looks amazing). Chang is 70 baht... Great place to watch the sunset too.

Great beach to relax and enjoy a few quiet days. It's also a great base for day trips (specially to Ko Rok and the 4 islands south east as well as Phi Phi to the north west), as the boats leave from the south end of Phra Ae. The water is great and the beach is long enough to accommodate everyone without getting cramped. Even in high season there is lots of space available to enjoy the sand and the water by yourself. I'm only taking one star because we crossed a couple of jellyfish during our stay, so you can't have the ultimate relax in the water due to being conscious of the danger they pose while having a swim. The ones we saw were reddish bells and aren't deadly (those are the blue box ones), but they sting nonetheless. Last but not least, it's a beautiful beach to enjoy sunsets and moon rises too!!

Nice beach, you can swim all day, not so many tourists, relaxed beach bars are here. No water activities as on patong. Recomend for family rest.

There's a few pretty overloaded and touristy spots, but you can usually find a space to yourself. It is still very active throughout the day. There are beautiful views of islands on clear days. Great place to go to be a beach bum with endless options of food, drink, and massage services.

Nice, clean sandy beach about 2,5 km long with a lot of restaurants and bars. Our favorite restaurant here is Thai Cat.

Awesome beach with coral reefs very close to the sand. Sad to see that the coral are dying. Pieces of dead coral are visible everywhere on the beach.

My favorite beach in Koh Lanta! Beautiful setting with White sand and blue water. The beach is also spacious so you can choose a spot and feel more privacy even when it’s a bit busy.

There are 3 markings for this beach :-) Phra Ae Beach, also known as Long Beach, is maybe the best beach on Koh Lanta I have written more about it under "Long Beach Koh Lanta". :-)

Is Phra ae beach and long beach the same beach? It is long coast line with large space from land to shore. Nice sunset spot. ===== HUMAN If you found garbage on the beach, it is definitely free to ask for 1 bag of used plastic from resort around, pick it up and ask the resort staffs to throw them away for you. One bag for one dopamine boost dosage. Ask them with smile on your face. It's help load better than cursing, they are the first world country garbage anyway, pick it up and see the label yourself, dah.

A beautiful beach with a large public park. The beach needs cleaning, there are parking lots and public services.

A great and long beach to walk, chill, and watch beautiful sunsets. I went to snorkel around sunset time and had a good time until jellyfish showed up. They both touched me lightly so I just came back to the shore to not risk it. If you want to snorkel, just be mindful of jellyfish and you will have a good time. The water is clear and the beach is clean too.

👍👍 If you're looking for the best beach bar to listen to good electronic, deep, and techno music, then look no further! This bar not only plays great music, but their cocktails are also made with care and are delicious. It's one of my favorite places in Thailand. I highly recommend 🌅
