This place looks NOTHING like the photos. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PHOTOS. Power and air conditioner are OFF from 10am to 5pm. Our bungalow looked beautiful in the photos but was absolutely disgusting with rotting walls, ceiling falling in, spiderwebs all over the walls, and cockroaches!!! The white sheets and pillowcases were stained with many colors including blood. Blood stained sheets!! One floor hole was patched with sand. We complained about the amount of bugs and were not really helped until I offered to upgrade and had to go take photos for proof. We were told 400 baht a day upgrade even though it was like 8pm and we had already been in the crappy room all day. I showed her photos of the blood stained sheets and spiders and she knocked it down to an additional 300 baht per day. The upgraded room overlooked the pool and was nicer but still couldn't use the wifi without going down to the pool or lobby. The sheets and towels were still fairly stained. We had a half a roll of toilet paper and no one brought more so we had been acquiring it ourselves for a day or two. You have to ask to have the room cleaned. The upgraded room had some broken desks, non working light bulbs, and a completely broken shower which sprayed everywhere and the water heater didn't work. We complained and were asked to take more photos. I finally started to get upset (it was about 10pm by this point and our entire evening was ruined) and said no to the photos so they sent someone right away to fix it. He replaced the shower head and almost left without fixing the heater so we had to stop him and point to fix it. The upgraded room has glass doors that do not shut completely so we ended up with hundreds of ants everywhere. I woke up in this place with small bug bites on my entire body and head after being fine in Thailand for a week. There were small ants in the bed too. The pool is nice and refreshing when the power is out. The TV has 2 channels I believe.

Booked for four nights. Nice to know, there isn't electricity 24/7. Besides this the bungalow was clean and the staff was very friendly.

I had high hopes, but this place was and continues to be a nightmare. Stay away. Got the bait and switch instantly. Paid for a bungalow but got a regular room. The shower head leaked everywhere. Including into the electric water heater. Not a hazard at all. And the obvious electricity part. Manageable but would have been nice to know at booking. Not many people stop in this cove so getting a ride in or out can be expensive or a long wait for more riders. It's just not worth the extra stress to stay here. Or the money. My main issue with them is that they have stolen $300 from me. Now admittedly I forgot it when I checked out. There are no safes in the room and I hid it and forgot it. I contacted them and they said they found it. Even sent me pictures. I figured it was a gonner so I was excited and happy when I heard from them. Now they ignore my messages. It has been 6 months so I tried not to jump to conclusions on this. But beware. Finders keepers at this place

We stay here often. Nicest accommodation on Tonsai. Well maintained pool area and grounds. Shuttle service from the boat landing point. We stay in the bungalows with aircon. The bathrooms are not always perfect, like dodgy levels on the floor that cause pooling, but functional enough. There are many cheaper options nearby, but nothing as "civilised" as Dream Valley. Note that during most of the year power is not available during the day, but good for aircon and charging at night.

I honestly dont like leaving mehh reviews but, the room wasn't cleaned every second day like we where told, the towels they provided were in pretty rough shape and we had to get the bedding changed as it was stained when we arrived. Room was pretty basic especially for the price, but had a/c. On the flip, The staff was very friendly and nice, and the pool area is a sweet spot to hang out and they do warn you about the night club's noise late at night (wasn't too bad if your used to city noise) To sum it up... it's a better option then the bamboo huts at other places and costs less then the new resort for a similar style stay.

Be prepared because there's no electricity between 8am and 5pm and previous to the booking it wasn't informed. We stayed in the bungalow near the pool and it wasn't possible to stay or rest during the day, the room was incredibly hot. If you want to stay in Tonsai is a 7min walk to the beach, but if you want to go to Railey you need to pay a boat transfer or walk through the mountain (25 min approx) I'll come back to this zone but definitely not to to this hotel

Amazing place with nice villas and pool. Is cheaper to book directly with them. Place is freshly renovated, deluxe villa that we stay was spacious with big bed and pool view. There is no electricity from 8-9 Am till 5 PM. But when you are in place like that you don't need it. Just remember to standup early to cook water for coffee or take warm shower if you like. Suggestion to get some power bank that can charge your laptop / phone in case you work remotely. Wifi was there 24h, sometimes you get disconnected sometimes not, it was not that stable as it seams, but it was ok.

Absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t have minded if this room cost $20 a night but for $75 a night I was choked! Our room was an hour late after the check in time. They were doing major construction so the jackhammering by the pool was unbearable. Our room was definitely not as advertised. It was disgusting. Ants everywhere and curtains stained brown. Wish we would have stayed anywhere else on tonsai!

Run down and not worth the price. Paid for an AC bungalow and the unit broke on the second night. Moved to another room and the AC barely worked, but unfortunately they tried another room and the AC unit didn't work at all. No refund or anything. Save your money and stay anywhere else

The hotel needs a refresh. The airco is loud (controller shows fan speed settings but there is no noticable difference in sound), swimming pool has green water, ... But the bed and shower are fine, rooms are big and breakfast is good.

Loved this place! Tonsai is beautiful in the extreme and Dream Valley Resort fits perfectly into the valley. The pool is great and just like the photos. The staff are friendly and super helpful. Railay Beach is a short walk thru the jungle and the track is easy to find. It’s clear that Covid has affected the local shops and restaurants. And yea the rooms are basic with electricity limited at times. But there’s real magic in this place and it’s not hard to find.

The environment was very very nice, natural and quite, in harmony with the beach and people who works there. Just take care to avoid leaving food into the rooms, rats can eat your luggage. Pool a bit dirty, beach 10 mins walking i to the jungle :D

Bungalows are in bad condition, its better to take more expensive rooms in new part. Breakfest is always set A - eggs, sausages, beans made by the receptionists or cleaners. Bad taste and no choice. Its better to go to the nearest restaurants. Cheapier and better. You need to remember that there is no electricity from 7 am to 5pm. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days, so you need to visit reception. Pool is in a good shape, actually the best part at Dream Valley Resort. And in comparison to the others I guess that it's still one of the best hotels at Tonsai.

The biggest plus point of this property is its unique location and scenic beauty, it feels like you are staying in nature. Its pretty close to the Tonsai Bay which is almost 5 mins walk and the property offers pick up and drop services as well. The only disspaointment was in terms of the cleanliness and services offered. The rooms were not very clean and the property needs some serious repairs as it's gone old now. There is no electricity during morning hours and the room service is only done on alternate days. There is no provision of kitchen during day and night except for the breakfast which is offered during morning hrs. The staff was kind and helpful, a little revamp of the rooms and bit more cleanliness would do wonders in making the experience more cherishable.

We loved our 5 night stay here. Super convenient to our favorite place to dine in Tonsai (Green Valley Resort -- has the biggest portions), to climbing, and close enough to the beach. Friendly staff. Loved having access to a big pool. Great greenery around the resort. That being said -- the rooms are very simple. There are some geckos and bugs. But that's basically all of the accommodation in the more rustic area on Tonsai compared to Railey Beach next door. The biggest downside is during low season they shut off the power (including air con and wifi) from 7 am until 5 pm. Which means the rooms are super hot if you are trying to sleep in or take a nap mid day.

This resort had a nice feel to it, little cottage like bungalos as well as 2 story villa type accomodations. The pool was great! However be weary taking kids into it as the tiles are busted and very sharp in places. The electricity shuts off completely between 10am-5pm which means no in room AC, and no hot showers between those hours. The rooms arent completely sealed either so you will find some tiny red ants crawling around. The bed in our room was super uncomfortable but for the price we mostly got what we expected. There we no bed bugs and the ants didn't seem to bite us during the night.
