DO NOT BOOK BUS TICKETS HERE. They sold me a ticket from Kratie to Don Det. He said it included the entire trip, but I was forced to pay to board a boat because my ticket DID NOT include the required boat fare. The bus did not even take me to Laos. Our driver asked for our passports at the border. He wanted to charge $45 (visa is only $30) to have them stamped on our behalf. We said no. He told us if we didn't pay him to do it, he may not be on the other side of the border when we arrived. He said we had exactly thirty minutes and he would leave. This was at 4:30pm. We go through immigration alone and exit around 4:45pm. We wait until 5:30pm. The bus driver never shows. He ditched us at the border because we wouldn't pay him an absorbent fee. Shame on Heng Heng Guest House for putting travelers—especially those on a budget—through this.

The staff were far less than welcoming. By far the least welcoming place we've visited in our trip through South East Asia. The staff didn't have a happy and helping attitude, it made no different if you spoke Khmer or English. Also one of the more expensive places ($15) we stayed at and expected better service than what we got.

Good size room, everything worked. When fault reported (string pulley came off fan) this was fixed in minutes. Clean and efficient.

We booked a river view room, however when we arrived none of these rooms were available. The owner said the booking description says only some rooms have a view, which is untrue. We ended up in a room at the back of the hotel overlooking a wall, which wasn't what we booked or paid for Rooms are far too hot without AC and quite dusty. The price is very cheap however, so you get what you pay for.

Great location, close to everything. Impressive balcony on the 2nd floor. The room with AC is 15$. It has bug's screen on the windows which is rare in Cambodia. The AC seems weak but functional. Too bad, no motorbike for rent here. The owner helped us with bus tickets to Kampong Cham.

A spacious post-colonial tenement house with beautiful interior decoration and large rooms. Somehow run down now but still holding its charm. Balconies available albeit not populated (no chair even!). Clean rooms - bedding and towels smelled of laundry. Powerful fans. The owner spoke acceptable English but had another person on the phone whom he called in case of misunderstandings. Very well-meaning and helpful. Good location just near pier for the boats to the island and good food options. Great value for $7.

Probably one of the better hotels in Kratie though we weren't so impressed. Bathroom is very basic and typical. Kinda grungy but fairly clean. A/C was pretty weak but we were cool enough after an hour and all night. Blankets and beds were quite nice. We had the room w a river view and the market is VERY LOUD until late, maybe 11pm.

Heng Heng II was the perfect spot for my two day stay in Kratie; extremely helpful, well mannered and cheerful staff, a super tightly run ship, clean well priced rooms, excellent riverfront location next to many restaurants, etc. Laundry, motorbike rental and onward travel logistics options were also all done in tip top fashion. Definitely my fave pic for a return visit to this lovely little town.

It's a good, cheap place for a couple of days! A nice stuff and rooms with all you need, so furniture, clothes hangers, AC and hot shower 🚿. But some rooms can be a little bit louder at daytime, tere are a school 🚸 at the next house.

Good choice in kratie province. It is along the river side, you can also enjoy the sun rise. This place offer good service with reasonable price.

Room seriosly dirty. Couldn't sleep during the night because of the noise in the hallway. Person at the reception totally not friendly and not professional, at first tried to rent the room for almost double price. The only good thing, location.

The location of the place is right in front of the Mekong which makes a good plus. Nearby there are some marts, local markets and street food. The rooms are clean and the staff nice.

Paid $8 for a fan double room. It was clean, had a tv, and warm water. There was enough space to park my bike, as it wasn't practical to keep our bikes downstairs in reception. There's balconies on the 1st and 2nd floors looking out over the river. We stayed 2 nights, and would probably stay there again if passing that way again.

Paid $8 for a double room, fan and cold water, but they also had rooms with hot water and ac. The room was very well cleaned and had good wifi and tv with english channels. Its close to where all the buses stop, ferry and the market with lots of restaurants nearby. Guy at the desk was friendly and spoke english.
