This is a temple town on top of Chamundi Hills. Goddess Chamundeswari is the presiding diety. The Chamundi Hill is a hill south east of Mysore of religious significance in Hinduim and Shakhism. On the hill is were according to legend the asura King Mahishasura of Mysore was killed by goddess Chamundeswari and were there is a temple dedicated to her, the Sri Chamundeswari Temple. Too much crowded place. Very difficult to find a place to park a car though the local authorities have made provision for ample cars. There are free and paid darshans at the temple The hill has a bit of a carnival atmosphere with lots of food and toy stalls for the devotees visiting the aforementioned (and very popular at the weekends) temple. There’s also several other temples on the hill, a colourful statue of the asura Mahishasura and a quirky museum called Adhyathimika Museum

Visiting Mysore? Coming here is a must! This larger than life statue of Nandi bull (the ride of Lord Shiva) instills in you energy and wonder at the same time. The ride to the place is full of scenic beauty as various vantage points along the journey provide you a bird's eye view of the city! You can spot so many buildings of historical and cultural significance from there including the iconic Mysore Palace and you will also find a traditional sculptor seated right infront of the statue working diligently to make the most beautiful pieces of art ever. Do spend a moment talking to him and understanding what he does, how he does it, and why he does it.

Chamudi betta is the most favorite place I visited in mysore. The top view of mysore city from the hill is marvellous. It is good to visit the temple either in morning or evening. Its good to feel the beauty with cold breeze. In evening the view of mysore lighting up is awesome. We get the prasadam from outside the temple. Special passes for fastrack entry. We can buy pooja items. Idols of good. Pictures etc from the outside.

Must visit place in Mysore .chamundi hills has changed so much since 2004 when I first visited as a student. They have paid multi level parking now. Eating options are not hygienic though. But the ride to the temple through the hilly road is amazing. The view point is brilliant. I suggest to go after sunset . Also if u have time then try the steps route to the hills . It is about 1000 steps and start early morning. While returning u can have breakfast in GTR

A scenic place to experience the bliss of nature. There is a sunset view point on the way, where we can get an eagle's view of Mysore. Vehicles are allowed till chamundeshwari temple. Mahishasura statue is another attraction. Parking space in plenty. A good birding spot too.

Divinity galore. If you are in Mysore, do not forget to visit this place & take the blessings of Mother Nature who was addressed as Mata Chamundeshwari in one of her incarnations. It's on a hill which is almost 4000sft above sea level. The temple management committee has worked hard to provide the devotees, touristors & visitors with various modern facilities like parking, lodging, shopping, entertainment & boarding facilities. You will enjoy being there with family & friends. On the way up or down you may find the local stone artisans who provide various divine shapes to the stones. Their livelihood depends on the sale that they make out from these stone carvings.

Temples are always a great place to restore faith and ask for forgiveness, but management is very important at these places as it looks after each and every person without bias. Furthermore, it is usually crowded, but worshiping is possible here. The place is located in a serene environment, so one can enjoy the view simultaneously.

Beautiful temple with rich cultural history. The location makes this temple a must go. From the hill top you get spectacular view of entire Mysore. Specially during the dasara times you can see the entire lighting of city.

Get 201 number city bus from Mysore city bus stop. 20-25 min journey. Going by steps is a beautiful experience. If you go by morning before 9-10 line is not much crowded on weekdays. Take 100/- ticket for quick darshan if it's crowded.

This is one of the the most famous tourist attraction in Mysore. I have visited this place thrice. This hill is very famous for it's Chamundi Temple on top. The view of Mysore from above is also spectacular. There are many small stalls on top where you can shop or eat. The parking facility is available but gets crowded during the weekends or holidays.

I don't recommend visiting here unless it is for temple visit..didn't enjoy anything other than the drive to the hills. Too crowded.. parking is available.. but ensure parking ticketbis collected after payment.. they will not give if we don't ask and that goes to their pocket...

A hilltop place with a beautiful temple on the top, but the managing system around temple is not that great. Good part is you can see whole Mysore from the top, there is bus service and taxi available there.

Parking facility is now awesome. The roads in the temple vicinity has seen some updates recently, I think.. they are way better now. Went on a Thursday at 8:30am and had to spend under 10 mins for the darshan. No one is bothered about wearing masks there. So, dear reader, if you are reading this in Apr 2022, and want to visit the temple area, please wear a mask.

Very clean, good facilities, nice drive, had fun with lot of coconut water and cream. Very refreshing. If the EV trolley driver is made more considerate towards senior citizens than just handicaps, as he refused to take my mother in law who has trouble in climbing stairs and she ended up climbing all the stairs for darshan.

1000 steps climbing is really nice experience. Around 45 min will take to reach the top for a young healthy person. Cut fruits and drinks shops will be available from 600th step. Suggested to go in the early morning. Temple visit may take 2 hours in Sundays and other holidays. Many shops will be there for purchase Pooja items and fancy items.
