The store is generally clean and the bathrooms were decent. A lot of flies though, it is a bit off-putting. The petrol station itself was good though, quick service. We also asked two different employees what time the steers opened, both assured us they open at 06:00. So we waited 40 minutes so we can have breakfast - only to find out they only open at 07:00. A serious waste of time. Maybe putting up the trading hours in the windows will be helpful?

Great stop over offering clean rest rooms, a variety of take aways, fuel, good service, ample parking, and tidy sirroundings.

I waited a few mins to fill up, I think they were short staffed but otherwise great service. The guys are very friendly😊

Don’t waste your money. Think this was last time to buy food and beverage from you. Simba chips was old (standing in the sun in the shop). Pastries was definitely not fresh (really old) and tasteless!!

Addition of Mochacos is nice. Service is good at fuel station. Neat and clean in general area. Agree that some more trees and shade would enhance aesthetics and atmosphere. Honestly, as on 5 November 2023 the bathrooms were just a real problem. Sadly didn't take photos. Urinals are old and need some TLC. Hand dryer in male bathroom out of order. Boxes in front of zinc to soak up some water leak. Bad smell. Brooms and mops standing around in the bathroom. The rest was good, but a bathroom break is a big part of why and where we stop.

We always make a pit stop here. Service and experience has always been good. Very convenient to have a quick travel break.

The cashiers in the store were lovely. The Vida coffee shop, however, was appalling. I suppose it is my fault for going there again after my first bad experience end of October. The 'barista' was clearly untrained, she was rude and got my order wrong twice! So, if you're not stopping for coffee, I recommend the store. If you need your caffeine fix, skip to the next one stop.

We stopped twice today at Shell Ultra City Kroonstad. At the coffee bar the girls, I cannot call them ladies because they screamed and shouted so loud that they could not hear my order. The cappuccino was cold and there were no sweetner. Then we ordered food from Mochachos. One of the girls behind the counter talk to her friends and then accompanied then outside more than once, while we had wait for her to come back. When I asked for salt, there were none and they send me to get some at Steers. The Nachos I ordered was without a fork. Nowhere is a manager to see and then there is the screaming and shouting of the staff. Terrible!! So I decided not to stop there again. This Ultra city is run just as the rest of the country! It is a disaster.

Lovely stop with a Steers & Mochachos. Friendly staff. Lovely frio’s, capuchino’s, hot chocolates, milkshakes etc. Don’t have to go into town. Fuel & toilets also available.

It's ok for a quick fuel and loo stop. They have Mochachos and a few other options for grabbing a bite to eat.

Not the same as it was in the past. Unwelcoming, rude and loud attendants at the Shell station. Always issues with the card machines, or fuel pumps not working, even when you are directed to stop at it. The supervisor is just as indifferent as the rest of the staff and it is clear that the staff members at this centre think that they are doing you a huge favour working there. We felt unsafe and it is not a nice place to stop at anymore.

The filthiest toilets for females that we have experienced in a very long time. The manager on duty’s response when dirty water basins, broken toilets, filthy floors was pointed out to her - “what’s the problem???” She refused to give me her name, Your reply is same as a month ago for similar complaint by somebody else. Why would this time be diffident?

Ome thing is certain - when people complained about dirty female toilet (some a month ago) management promised to investigate. A month later still nothing done. Shell staff attitude "I din't see the problem" No problem we will never stop at any Shell fuel station

Neat and clean for a quick stop and a picknick. Lots of parking. They could increase rating with a little more shaded areas and small petting animals to look at where you sit and eat

The Best Mochachos in the Country, Convenient Parking, all Major ATMs. The Convenient Store has Just About Anything. Friendly Free State Hospitality and Service. Granted, the Sign can be Misleading that Diverts the Traffic from the N1, and Needs some Improvement (it doesn't have much aesthetic Value for a Majour Route, it looks like Something you'd see deep inside the Karoo at a Truck Stop) but don't let that Stop you from Turning Off. The Garrage is Modern and Good Looking, it doesn't Match the Sign at all. It's just off the Offramp, so it's not out of the Way. There's a Steers as well, and a Barista Bar. All in all, one of my Favourite Garrages. I Drive a lot, so that in Itself says Something.

On a negative note, I waited quite a bit before a petrol attendant attended to me. But mostly it was positive: It's great that Shell and Vida coffee have a partnership, such a treat. There are also a few restaurants: Steers and Mochachos. Their pies are also very nice!

Safe, convenient and buzzing place to stop on trips. I have been through this place over hundreds of times in my life-time. And sometimes I just pass here even if I don't have to. N.B: It is used by bus services as a refreshment station for their patrons, so if you are turned off by the buzz, you might not enjoy it much. But the coffee, food options and service at the filling station are of a good standard.

Had a great pit stop on our way to Bloemfontein. Stopped for a great coffee and it was so worth it.

Public toilets dirty and smelly, in bad condition - cracked fittings, leaky taps. The convenience store is well stocked but makes no sense, cashiers are poorly situated and slow. Will rather try other options in future

Hello, they broke into my car yesterday morning at the garage and my laptop bag was taken which had my ID and other personal stuff, if one should find or see thrown ID and a passport kindly let me know,

The staff is friendly and efficient. There are ATMs for most banks, and it's well located.

Dark parking with some dubious characters lurking about. Definite need for security. ATM's at the bottom a real risk. Warm and friendly inside. Clean facilities. Steers served us a massive fresh burger, yet the patty was chewy. Clean ablution.

Lovely place. Very clean. Fast and friendly service with diners available.

It's a useful stop on a long road. The bathrooms could be renovated. The layout of the shop is very basic. The staff appear as if they really hate their jobs

The ablution facilities need to be seriously upgraded as a matter of urgency. They are past their prime in look and feel.

One of the best Shell Ultra City's if you are traveling on the N1. Clean and modern. And has a halaal Mochachos, a big plus.
