Biggest Anatomy & Pathology lab in Asia with more specimens showcased. The entry fee is only ₹10. Will take around an hour or two to have a detailed look. This place is not only good for medical students, everyone can visit and know something about anatomy and pathology. Photos are not allowed so posting the ones taken outside.

Indeed its one of the largest anatomy museum in asia... So many collections of specimens.. Really a nice place to know more about anatomy and physiology... A great place for students to learn.... Its my 3rd visit and every time i like it.. No photography is allowed inside... Students can enter showing their school or college ID and working professionals and their families in MAHE can enter showing their ID..

Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology (MAP) is a storehouse of knowledge. The specimens have been there for close to 40 years. The renovated museum with its new magnificent ambiance will be an added attraction for hundreds and thousands of visitors. Billed as one of the largest in Asia, the museum boasts of over 3,000 specimens and samples of things anatomical, including the skulls of an elephant and a whale, and the long skeleton of a King Cobra. Dr. SS Godbole, the first Anatomy Professor of Kasturba Medical College, had a passion for preservation. His techniques of careful dissection, processing, and mounting anatomical specimens are followed even today. It was under his watch that the museum opened its doors to the public in 1954, with over 650 specimens from his collection. Revamped and renamed as the Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology in November 2012, the sprawling Anatomy section houses well-preserved specimens of the human body from head to toe, and everything in between. A section on comparative anatomy houses the skeletons of various other animals, and carefully crafted models and charts augment the entire experience. The Pathology Museum, which displays diseased body parts and organs, has a popular section on life-style related diseases, and their impact on the human body. Work to convert it into a digital or virtual museum is completed. The museum is divided into two main sections: Anatomy and Pathology. The anatomy section displays specimens of normal human body parts and organs in a manner that makes them easy to understand. Each organ system of the human body can be explored as a separate entity. Every bit of the body is displayed from head to toe from different sections. There is a section on comparative anatomy, where a large collection of animals, their skeleton, and bones are displayed. The museum of Pathology displays diseased body parts and organs. The section on life-style related diseases displays specimens of diseases that occur in humans.

An amazing place! Parked at the food court (opposite) as the gate was closed. Tickets are priced very less. No photos allowed inside, which was disappointing. Overall, there are tons of specimens of different types of Anatomy including humans and animals. Tip: don't eat and come as the specimens may make your stomach churn :). A must visit place to understand more about anatomy and pathology.

One of the unique museums in India and very very informative for life science students and kids. It claimed to be Asia's largest anatomy museum. The ticket price is rs 10 for adults and kids above 5 years charged at rs. 5. Photography inside the museum is not allowed. The total time required is 1 hr. The roaming path is clearly marked with stickers so you don't miss any exhibit. It starts with general anatomy of animals/humans and leads to various human functions like cardiovascular, muscular and end up with embryology and diseases. Watching the journey of baby from 2md week to 8 months was awesome. There is a full embalm body of human. Overall experience is great and worth of your time. Parking is free and plenty. If there is no space you can park the car in the food court parking across the road.

Largest Anatomy & Pathology Museum which showcases more than 3000+ specimens here in Manipal. Not only paramedics and medical students, also adults and childrens will gain extensive knowledge regarding human & animal specimens. Also you will experience great learning related to pathological conditions of human making it an essential study. Museum is kept open on all days and very well maintained, clean & organised. You are prohibited to click any pictures inside the museum as rules are displayed and also instructed which has to be followed. Entry fee is bare minimum and a must visit place to have a detailed study about human anatomy & pathology, including other vertebrates. No wonder it is stated to be the best all over Asia. Don't miss out the opportunity to check for yourself and spend atleast an hour or two in experiencing study of anatomy exhibits inside the museum.

One of the human babies in a jar looked hideous.. just out of a scary moster movie.. ( It was a mix of Casper the ghost and a baby mix breed.. Couldn't get my eyes of that to read what sickness was that).. Can't delete that memory out of my mind.. Probably didn't sleep a few nights after seeing that. But overall it's well maintained museum and it's good for getting biology and science related interests in children. It takes a great deal of time learning from it. So ensure you spend a lot of time.. half a day to learn from the experience..

Organs affected by diseases may not be a thing for you to visually appreciate but ofcourse it's well organized and thought through. Interesting facts are really cool. Facts about the cardiovascular system: . The heart beats around 3 billion times in the average person's life. . About 8 million blood cells die in the human body every second, and the same number are born each second. Within a tiny droplet of blood, there are some 5 million red blood cells. It takes about 20 seconds for a red blood cell to circle the whole body.

The museum has got a great collection of specimens and models of humans and other vertebrates. There are separate sections for anatomy and pathology. The anatomy section comprises of comparative anatomy, and specimens arranged system wise. The pathology section comprises of cancers, infections and abnormal embryogenesis. It takes almost 1.5-2 hrs just to look at the specimens. It'll take much longer if we study them in detail. The complete skeletons of a human, horse, tiger and snakes, and the skulls of an elephant and a whale are some of the highlights of the museum. There's an entry fee of 10₹ for the public, whereas it is free for students. Parking space is available just outside the building. Photography is prohibited inside the building. It's a great place to revise your knowledge of anatomy and pathology, or to learn a lot if you're a novice.

Clean, educational and also at a less price. This is especially for students who want to study science. The price is 10 for adults and 5 for children. The parking space is not too much if it is full you have to park your car outside. The place is very quiet 🤫

This museum has thousands of artifacts on display - right from skeletons, body parts, organs etc. belonging to animals as well as humans. A must visit for children to introduce them to anatomy and medical science. The museum is remarkably well maintained, full marks to Manipal for setting up this outstanding place. The only thing which can be improved is to have a knowledgeable guide as almost all artifacts are marked in scientific terminology which would not be understood by everyone.

I am glad I tried this place and went there. I have never been to this type of museum before. I got a lot to learn there. If you are really going here to learn then either go alone or go with someone who is interested in biology. Do read all the boards which have a lot of basic information. What I loved here is the skeletons and dissections kept here are all real and well preserved. The staff has really maintained this place well ( no wonder this is one of the best museum in the whole of Asia. If you come to Udupi or Manipal add this to your checklist and do visit here. Thank you to the whole team of KMC due to which we get such a good exposure and experience. This place shows how beautiful our life is, and how underrated our medical staff is♥️🙌. Thank you to all the medical staff and scientists for their contribution♥️🙌.

It was just excellent. It is Asia's largest anatomy museum and a must see if visit Manipal. It filled with painstakingly created pieces on the anatomy of humans, birds and animals.

Very interesting anatomy museum, well maintained however they allowed entry until 6 p.m. and immediately shut down the power system leaving the museum completely dark and forced us to leave as it was closing time. It would be sensible to allow visitors only until 5:30 p.m. and give them a half an hour buffer rather than making them pay for the visit and not even allowing them to view the museum completely. Plan your visit accordingly.

Medical science is highly evolved but for most people it is still mysterious and scary. If you can overcome the fear aspect, then this museum will show and help understand many aspects related to human body systems and associated disease systems. Apart from the dissections of different organs, there is also text information posted around the displays. For the enthusiast, it can take good 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the visit. If you are unlucky, suddenly buses full of school children on picnics can be visiting along with you, in which case it is better to skip and come later. This is a must visit place in Udupi-Manipal area. Fees are also pretty cheap at INR 10 for adults and INR 5 for student kids.

Good experience. MAP has got a lot to offer to someone who is interested in anatomy. Vast collection of specimens and are showcased well. The lighting and ventilation is not that great, and the walking direction markings are a bit confusing. Overall a good experience. Must visit destination in Manipal.

The information what we get from this museum is awesome. From the beginning to end it was full of exited details of human and other animal details. It as sad to see some of the exhibits but the self explaining bulletin boards are good enough to understand everything by common man. Dont forget to read the interesting facts pasted on the wall for each room. Really worth the visit for teen age kids and adults.

A very good place for people who are interested in anatomy and pathology. Especially students who are studying will be much useful as it consist of many such informative collections with explanation. For kids some times they may feel bored and not so interested and some sections like cancer disease, embryology and some other diseases are very much scary for kids.

Very good place for understanding the human body parts and one can visualise those here. It also has few animal parts displayed. Worth visiting if you are interested in understanding the body created by nature God.

It was a great and knowledgeable experience, even though a tad bit scary. It can be slightly overwhelming, especially if you are visiting for the first time, but definitely worth it. The museum contains a huge number of factual information and detailed real-life graphical displays of human and animal anatomy and pathology, with displays of normal cases as well as anomalies/diseased cases.

Very good place to enlighten children about the field of science. 10 rs ticket for adults and 5 rs for kids. Quick tip: bring children only if they’re above class 6/7 as it’s helpful to them while studying. My first time here and loved every second.

The Anatomical Museum is a fantastic place for children, as it helps alleviate their fears regarding the human body and death. Just half an hour spent there can make a significant difference.

In my childhood , ie, 35 yrs back father took me there, then i was frightenedto see small babies bodies in glass displayed.. bt now i am having so much respect for those great men who did all this work..any person who tends to have string of ego anout money, health etc should visit this anatomy and pathology museum, then he wil come out with some clarity about life.

This museum is a stone's throwaway from Tiger circle in Manipal. The ticket price is very less. The museum is well maintained. Photography is strictly prohibited. There are a number of specimens on display both of humans and animals. Very notable are the skull of the elephant, the lower jaw of a whale and an embalmed human body. The brains of various animals are also displayed here. The various stages of fetal growth can also be observed. Each section of the body has been represented separately which is very noteworthy. I personally felt that the taxidermy specimens are not that good but the large number of excellently preserved pathological specimens make up for it. People can spend 40-60 minutes here
