Nestled
in
one
of
the
highest
points
of
Kodaikanal,
Ellesmera
offers
a
perfect
location,
as
you
get
the
best
of
both
worlds,
proximity
to
the
city
and
the
picturesque
beauty
of
Kodai
hills.
Our
days
were
spent
lolling
about
in
Ellesmera's
stunning
garden,
lush
and
colorful
with
its
plethora
of
flowering
plants
that
calls
a
wide
variety
of
birds,
drinking
a
million
teas
that
our
hosts
gladly
kept
offering
and
revelling
in
the
silence
that's
only
broken
by
the
birds.
Rooms
are
big,
spotless
with
cosy
beds
and
beautiful
sitouts
that
enhance
the
experience.
When
night
fell,
we
found
ourselves
lulled
into
sleep
(despite
the
books
from
their
enormous
well
curated
library)
due
to
the
ambient
crackling
sounds
of
the
cosy
fireplace.
Breakfasts
and
dinners
served
were
also
extremely
tasty,
soothing
and
hygienic
and
saved
us
the
hassle
of
ordering
them
(which
is
also
possible
since
it's
situated
just
a
few
kilometres
from
the
city)
Mr.
Babu
and
his
wife
Ms.
Rita
were
for
us
the
highlight
of
our
trip.
We
were
treated
to
Mr.
Babu's
enthralling
life
stories
and
Ms.
Rita's
knowledge
on
Kodaikanal's
history
and
ecology.
We
realised
how
extremely
well
read
and
how
invested
both
our
hosts
were
to
ensure
the
safety
of
Kodaikanal's
environment
and
it's
flora
and
fauna.
We
can
see
how
lovingly
they
care
for
their
home,
their
garden
and
their
guests
both
feathered
and
human.
We
came
back,
a
lot
more
knowledgeable
and
with
many
fond
memories
of
Ms
Rita
and
Mr.
Babu.
