The entire walk ways in City are encroached by the shop keepers & traders, the roads in the city are used to park vehicles, no way t the people can walk in the City safely. Can the CM try to move the shop keepers from walkways & top of the drainages , make way to pedestrians . Ban the parking of all vehicles including two wheelers, autos, etc from road sides & roads..

This is one of the best places in Ernakulam to walk, jog and cycle. The walkway is well lit and normally clean. While there is a dedicated cycle lane, there are sometimes cyclists not keeping to that lane. The jogging path has sufficient gradient to provide a decent experience. There are also two points where there is a road running through the path. This is a concern especially if there are children jogging or cycling. Extreme caution needs to be exercised. During summers, there is normally a pungent odor from the canal and this can be a bit too much at times. Another thing that one needs to look out for are the stray dogs. While normally they do not create too much of a problem, they can be at time quite threatening and intimidating. Last but not the least, there can be giant snails on the path. Be careful especially while jogging or cycling at night. This walkway is definitely recommended.

Beautiful locality and a nice walkway. Due to pandemic, the walkway is maintained less but still really good place. Also there are many street vendors near by if you crave street foods.(Update: now the walkway is cleaned up and looks beautiful again :D )

A maintained place for a relaxed walk. Yes this place right there at Panampilly Nagar is a welcome heaven for many. It’s well maintained with paved walkways with separated road for cyclists . Would have given it a 5 Star if not for the immigrant workers staring at the passerby’s making one feel very uncomfortable. The place is well lit and also has a few eateries nearby. Would be great if police has a regular patrolling there specially at the evenings.

The walkway at Panampilly Nagar, constructed by the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) in 2018, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. As per a 2017 MoU involving KMRL, GCDA and the corporation, Kochi Metro was to maintain Streetscape for five year. A KMRL official, however, says the agreement was not ratified. “The corporation is yet to sign the agreement. Only than can KMRL take up the maintenance work of the walkway,” the official adds. Apart from the waste, the walkway is covered by overgrown bushes. “A few joggers have spotted snakes and other venomous creatures in the bushes,” says a 52-year-old resident, requesting anonymity. “The poorly maintained walkway shows the lackadaisical attitude of the officials. As a resident, I have tried to highlight the issue to the area councillor, who shrugged her shoulders and passed the buck to GCDA and KMRL.” Calls to the councillor went unanswered. Better Kochi Response Group president S Gopakumar says one cannot blame the authorities alone. “Keeping a public place clean is the responsibility of both the authorities in charge and the general public,” he stresses.

Walk way is good, lot of people are coming daily for walking . One work out area is also there. Only problem is bad smell from the canal near to the walk way.

I really like Panampilly Walkway. It is really a civilized- busy way, especially during mornings and evenings. You can see people going for walks, street vendors either side of the road. Also there are amazing spots under huge trees where you can hang out with your dear and near ones.

There is two path in that walkway. One is for cycling and another is for walking. Good ambiance.. But the smell from the river is too bad🫣

Panampilly nagar is a delight to take a walk around. Small vendors selling banana shake, milk, leafy veggies , green veggies etc are all there post 7am. It's a very clean and peaceful area with lot of brands and food chains. The locality is a pleasure to the eye.

The walkway is built alongside Shihab Thangal Road, and the aim was to promote a street where not only motor vehicles can ply, but cyclists and pedestrians can safely commute too.
