A very beautiful and peaceful place to come and pray. It has Prasad (blessed food) where you can sit and eat under shade. (Please don't click picture inside, don't litter, wait for your turn when you're in a line and please be respectful!)

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 The temple attracts devotees from Karnataka as well as the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. The original temple was built by the 7th century Badami Chalukya kings, who worshipped goddess Banashankari as their tutelary deity. The temple celebrates its annual festival called Banashankari jatre, in the months of January or February. The festival comprises cultural programmes, boat festival as well as a Rath yatra, when the temple goddess is paraded around the city in a chariot. Banshakhari is a form of Maa Shakambhari Devi whose real, main and ancient temple is located in Saharanpur District in Uttar Pradesh. It is also known as Shaktipeeth Shakambhari Devi. There are statues of Bhima, Bhramari, Shatakshi and Ganesha along with mother.

Nestled beside Banashankari bus stop and metro station, the divine allure of this temple is enchanting. Witnessing the ritualistic lighting of diyas in lemon for Aarthi is a unique and spiritually uplifting experience. I had the privilege to partake in the 7:30 am Abhishekam, and it was truly awe-inspiring. Visiting from Hyderabad, where I'd only seen pictures on Facebook, being present brought a profound sense of joy. The serene morning ambiance heightened the spiritual connection, making it an unforgettable visit. The temple not only met but exceeded my expectations, providing a serene sanctuary in the heart of bustling Banashankari. A heartfelt recommendation for anyone seeking a tranquil and spiritually enriching experience.

Located in Southern Bangalore, the Banashankari temple is one of the most popular places of worship in Bangalore City. Devoted to the goddess Banashankari, this temple is visited mostly during Rahukala time which is believed to be an unfavorable time as per Hindus. A visit here is believed to relieve people of the adverse fate as well as the hardships. The prayers to Goddess Banashankari are offered by lighting oil lamps in semi cut lemon peels, whose pulp is removed.Do visit this temple for an insight into Hindu religious faith and customs.

Beside Banashankari busstop and metro. People lit diyas in lemon for aarthi, I had the chance to see 7:30 am abhishekam, it was amazing. I'm so happy to visit this temple. I used to see pics on Facebook now I had the chance to come from Hyderabad. It was so peaceful early in the morning.

Let goddess Banashankari blessings be with all!! Temple is in the heart of the city and quite convenient to reach. Has metro connectivity a name and stop in itself if you take metro and 4mins walking distance is the bus stand and local autos are also very easily available. Coming to the temple it's one of the oldest may be some centuries old, a huge space with a very good vibration. Goddess looks straight into your eyes, very powerful goddess and crowded on Tuesday and Friday rahukala time because it is believed to be auspicious time to offer lemon diyas to the diety. Sundays are also equally crowded. Like all other temple the volutneers are full of attitude and influence works wonders.

The goddess Bhanshankari amma is powerful. And many people lite Deepas in Lemons, and give Harathi to amma saying that their wishes would fulfill. I visited on 23rd February, 2022. There is a big parking place which is free. Just beside the Banshankari metro and 2mins walk from Banshankari signal stop road. I suggest to go in the evening after 6PM, so that you will see the temple in lights and also Radham seva, where Goddess idol is put in charriot, and make 3 rounds in the temple. So much attractive and peaceful place. And the temple construction is highlight..

The temple is on the main road very near to banasankari bmtc bus stand and the metro station. The temple is moderately large and looks very good. The area gets the name because of this ammavaru inside. The temple is very crowded during dussehra days. Lord shiva lingam is also present inside the temple. Very good place to visit.

Today we went to the Shakanbhari Devi temple here in Bengaluru. This temple is famous with the name Banashankari. While going through history it is known to me  that Shakambhari Devi is a Hindu Goddess originally Parvati Devi wife of Mahadev Shri Shambhoo Shankar and hence called as Shankari being wife of Shri Shankar God. This temple which we visited today was built somewhere in 1800 to 1900, which at that time was in the forest. And hence locals started calling it the temple of the deity residing in the forest as van Devi. Van means forest...as the time lapsed , it became famous as Banashankari coz van means Ban means forest in Sanskrit. The idol of honour Banashankari Devi is said to be a replica of Shakambhari Devi at Badami in Karnataka State itself. The area near the temple is famous with the name Banashankari. The temple is situated (after the development of the forest area into the city over the time) in between Banashankari Metro station and Bus stand. It's very easy to go there by auto, cab... Even if you go by your own vehicle, there is lot of space available for parking at temple side  and even at Metro station parking. The temple area is huge and is having some  temples of other deity. Mahaprasad is available till the time of temple closure. All facilities like parking, wash rooms, and other necessities are available here. I liked that the Mahaprasad is served in more than sufficient quantity in steel plates and it is expected and done by the bhakta to wash and clean their plates for using the same by next one. Really enjoyed the premises having boon of sanctity, silence and what not....

One of the best temples, everyday Anna prasada will be there. The best time to visit is on weekdays or Tuesday and Fridays. Amavasya and poornima days are good and auspicious but the temple crowd will be too core..

A very spacious temple. Goddess is powerful and almost a crowded place all the time. Priests are very friendly and they provide required info to you. I recently went for vehicle pooja and found the priest very helpful. He did pooja with genuine interest. Attached pic shows things to be carried for vahan pooja. They ask rs 301 dakshine for car pooja which is very minimal in Bangalore. Vahana pooja place is near Navagraha temple inside, near ಅನ್ನ ದಾಸೋಹ. But problems are non priest staffs like few security guards, seva counter staffs - they are rude and unprofessional. As it comes on main road and near signal - it's always jam packed area due to too many vehicles. There's enough space for car and bike parking inside. No parking charge. Ignore if security guards ask for money when you take out car. Overall, A must visit place for everyone.

A well maintained, peaceful temple amidst a bustling neighbourhood - Just opposite to the Banashankari bust stand and Metro. This deity is said to be very powerful and fulfils our prayers. You can buy diyas/flower garlands just outside the temple. Rock Salt is also one of the offerings from the devotees.

Wonderful place of worship in the heart of the city Bangalore. The deity has lent her name for the locality. It's the starting point of the city from southern end precisely from Mysore. The temple is a cool place of worship.

Just beside Banashankari bus stop and metro station. Very spacious and peaceful. You can find this temple little crowded during major festivals. I had a chance to see people lighting diyas in squeezed lemon(making it upside down) as a part of karthika masam and some cultural dance programs going on aside. This area gets its name from the Banashankari Devi. It also have very big parking space for cars and bikes. NO TICKET is required. Its free for everyone even on festivals.
