Songnisan National Park is wonderful. The hiking here isn't the best you'll find in a national park in Korea, nor is the natural beauty (although both are still quite good). What makes this park worth visiting is the combination of the natural beauty/hiking and the history. Beopjusa Temple is almost without parallel in all of Korea, and combining that with the beauty of the various mountain peaks makes it a very worthwhile destination. Although there were other national parks I enjoyed more, I'd still wholeheartedly recommend visiting here

Mount Songnisan National Park is a great place to visit especially for hiking. There are two different peaks that can hike to with awesome views. The trails are challenging in places. There are Buddhist temples in the park with great photo opportunities. It is best to plan a full day at the park. Hiking to one of the peaks will take 4-6 hours depending on your pace. There are several places to eat in the park or bring your own and have a picnic.

Songnisan is located about 15 minutes from Boeun by either taxi, or bus which runs frequently. One of the most beautiful hikes I have ever been on. Wonderful scenery everywhere! The views at the top are breathtaking to say the least. There are several temples throughout the hike. Halfway to the top there is another buddhist temple. On the ridge and also at the base of the mountain there are rest areas that serve food. This is one of the more popular hiking destinations in South Korea. This was a very memorable experience and it should be on every hikers bucket list.

Fun, relax place

Very nice park. The trails are good prepared and still pretty much natural. Beopjusa is also a trip worth. Food or trinks is everything there, but like always it's cheaper to bring. During Corona they measure temperature at the entry and offer hand cleaning on several spots.

It was a nice weather, there are places to cool off along the streem and nice Buddhist temple, also good place for camping etc.

2nd visit, would love to come again
