This place is *HEAVEN.* A very close to *Dharamshala* and just a small town but indeed beautiful. If you're coming from *Dharamshala* then you need to locate *Sidhbari Clock Tower* (which is in right if you're coming from Dharamshala side) and if you coming from *Chamunda Devi* then it will be in the left side. One can take a bus from *Chamunda Devi* or *Dharamshala* to *Sidhbari* (Fare is 20rs as of now in April 2022). Bus will leave you at *Sidhbari* or you can tell conductor to leave you at *Sidhbari* clock tower. Tapovan is just 1 km from clock tower (it is down side the road so dont hesitate to walk down on your feet). Few meters before tapovan ashram, you will see *Dharamshala Vidhan Sabha.* Next to the *Vidhan Sabha,* there's is small gate to go to the *Ram Temple* but i suggest you to enter from the main gate which is just right in next junction (also *Tapovan Bus Stop* ). A small _Tea Stall_ is there in the right (i had tea and biscuits there). A lil chat with uncle was really memorable. He love to help tourists without any cost. He and his son running that small tea stall and if you get time then do try their _Pakodas._ You will love it. The _Tea Stall_ is in the right side and if you take left then there's main gate of *Chinmayanand Tapovan Ashram.* Enter inside and dont go towards *Hanuman Statue* (it is restricted). Before Statue, there's a gate in left to enter inside. First visit the *Ram Temple, Shiv Temple* is also there outside the *Ram Temple.* Then go towards *Hanuman Statue,* in the left you will see the *Samadhi of Guri Ji.* I have reached there around 7 am in the morning. Buses are frequent at *Tapovan Bus Stand* in every hour. The same route goes to *Kangra.* if you want to come back to *Dharamshala,* wait for bus at _Tea Stall._ Or if you want go back to *Chamunda* then take a same bus and hop off at *Sidhbari Bus Stop.* From *Sidhbari* you can go to *Chamunda Devi.* Bonus : *Gyuto Monastery* is also near to *Sidhbari Clock Tower* if you wants to see and other *Norbulingka Monastery and Institute* is also there in other direction (around 1.4 km).

This is a very nice place to meditate. The place is located in an isolated mountainous terrain, making it very quiet and peaceful. The place is sort of a tourist attraction as well and the only reason I rated it one star less than five is that photography is not allowed in the area. The place is so good for photography (though it’s not allowed) and the view of the mountains, it’s just incredible. Washroom facility is available but it isn’t any good quality for tourists.

Chinmaya Tapovan is a beautiful destination for hiking enthusiasts, located in the lap of the Himalayas. The lush green forests and serene environment make it a perfect spot for a peaceful and rejuvenating hiking experience. The stunning vistas and fresh mountain air make every step worth it, and the sense of accomplishment at the end of the hike is truly gratifying.

A place for which words cannot do justice as they will always fall short to make us comprehend the divinity this sacred abode of Gurudev Chinmayananda Ji holds. One has to come here to experience it in its totality and gets totally immersed in this serene land of Siddha Purushas.

Ashram located here is the major tourist attraction here. In the ashram campus, statue of Lord Hanuman can be seen along with Shivling on top of a building. The mountain range view from the ashram is amazing. Lord Rama temple also exists at a walking distance from the ashram. If someone requires peace and calmness, this can be the place to go. One time visit will be enough to explore the area.

This place is a leading centre of teaching indian vedas, have an ashram which offer two and half year course in the above subject. A beautiful well maintained ashram with an excellent faculty for teaching vedas, a bookshop of their publications and a beautiful Rama Mandir (temple) with an absolutely majestic Hanuman's statue of almost 20 feet height in beautiful surrounding. If you happens to be in or around Dharamshala, do visit this lovely place. Have a memorial also dedicated to its founder Swami Chinmayananda.
