Hot as hell but the experience of a lifetime! There was quite a queue when we arrived but it moved quickly and efficiently. It's not often that you get to see the falls in all its splendour, it's awesome to see. The park and facilities are excellent, the walkways allow easy access to the falls. Visit the upper viewing decks first and then the lower decks to cool off in the spray. Prepare yourself to get soaked (don't wear a white shirt 😉🤣)

Wow, what an awesome place. The units were well maintained and had everything that one needs (except an oven). The convenience store also had most of the stuff that one needs. Then the scenery and the falls are incredible.

I can just say WOW!! As we enter the Main Gate we were greeted by friendly staff...Right through the entire day we experience friendly staff. Everything is so clean and well maintained, the public toilets were so clean, it's was so impressive. The restaurant so clean, food was good. Well Done to the Management of the Augrabies Falls, shows that there is still people in Government Services that do things great!!!

The most wonderful place to spend quality time with your loved ones in nature. Here you realise there is definitely a Creator. This wonder did not just happen. It was masterfully crafted. If you need to find yourself...definitely worthwhile to visit! Friendly people! Well stocked shop. Good food in the restaurant as well.

The campsite is great. It has all the amenities you need and there is sufficient shaded spots for tents, campers or caravans. Camp sites is first come first serve basis and a suggestion would be to take a ground sheet with as the sites is all sand. Walkway and viewing points at the waterfall is safe, well maintained and greatly positioned. There were some walkways damaged during the last flood, but they were closed out properly. The park provides fuel, gift shop and a restaurant.

We have been to Augrabies Falls National Park many years ago and can recall that it was 'nothing to boast about'. We made a reservation for 17 September 2023 , as we were on our way to the Richtersveld. What a surprise awaited us! Our chalet was spanking clean, well-equipped and provided us with everything we needed. The reception staff was super-friendly and the shop well stocked. Everyone we came across were willing to assist, approachable and professional. This was such an improvement compared to our earlier visit... We consequently spontaneously booked there again for 27 September 2023 on our way back. The Reception staff again were so, so helpful and accommodating. The damage after the last floods was actually quite unfortunate but it didn't stop us from taking some lovely pictures.... Well done, Sanparks and Augrabies Falls staff. You are worthy of this feather in your cap!

Awesome experience to see Augrabies in flood. We stayed at a chalet that was very basic but very neat with a AIRCON. The service at the restaurant is a bit slow but the food is great. The little shop is also well stocked, from ponchos to meat and wine.

Breathtaking views of the falls. Great walkways and viewpoints, clean and well maintained. The reception and shop is really nice, and staff are friendly and helpful. We also drove through the park which takes you through the treacherous terrain with its beautiful sights and landscapes. Didn't see many animals but was worth it just for experiencing the harsh beauty. The roads are good but I'd recommend a vehicle with some good ground clearance as there are deep dips and some water to go through.

Beautiful waterfals. 2 Clean pools for overnight visitors. 3 Hiking trails we will definately do. Friendly staff, make you feel at home. Doing laundry is 3x cheeper in comparison to Chalet lagoon lodge at Walvis bay. Just have the new R5 coins available. Campsites are nicely layed out and children can play on the clean lawn. They can also enjoy cycling. Ablutions are neet and clean after 10am. Nice warm water for showers and bath. DAY 3-7 on our next tour to Namibia.

We loved staying here. The waterfalls were amazing. The camping site is only gravel you not allowed onto the grass which is a shame. The bathrooms were clean and well looked after. We did 2 hikes and had a great time. We also had coffee in the restaurant which was the best ever.

The park personnel are very friendly and helpful. Especially now that the falls were running at 3500 cms and there was a element of danger. They had helpers posted at various points of possible danger to help everyone and they were very quick to help which shows them were very attentive. The falls were amazing and must see.

As an arid national park, this place is super unique. The accomodation options are many and the campsite is really great. There are few self-drive options around the park to take in the scenery and animals. The viewing decks are spectacular and it is a beautiful place to enjoy and relax in. The little shop has all the essentials (ice, wood, snacks etc) and staff are all friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant too which serves a wide range of food options.

The staff are genuinely lovely - I immediately felt safe and welcomed. The walkways are under repair from the floods, which isn't anyone's fault, and we were still able to get nice photos. The restaurant was super cool and comfy on an excruciatingly hot day. The bathrooms were also clean and stocked. It's obvious that everyone working there is passionate about conservation and providing a great place for everyone to connect with nature. I hope our international visitors enjoy it as much as I did!

Beautiful park, so pleased we insisted on making the addition to our trip. The falls rumble, splash, mist and take your breath away. Saw lots of little critters around. Definitely worth the detour when traveling through the region. Accommodation is clean, updated, comfortable, has aircon, all other amenities and is not affected by loadshedding as they have a generator. There are many swimming pools that are well kept, blue and clean. Service is impeccable and the restaurant is great. A must visit.

Wonderful spot just beside the waterfall. Campsite is beautifully and the ablution block well maintained. There are 3 pools in the camp - also very clean! There are great hikes and tours available in the park - so plenty to do!

What a beautiful place, we really enjoyed our stay here ❤️ the views are magnificent and the Dassies were so cute. Accommodation was great with clean spacious rooms and several swimming pools to cool off at the end of your day. Certain parts of the walkways were under repair from the last floods damage. Staff were friendly and a restaurant and shop are available for your convenience.

Love the falls area and the bungalows. Friendly service at reception and in the shop. Shop is well stocked. The game drive was disappointing to say the least. Only 4 giraffe and we tranvelled the entire park.

There are no words to describe the power of a waterfall, it is the most amazing noise you can find on earth. If you have to calm down just sit and close your eyes and listen then open your eyes then you will know the power of God.

The accomodation was functional, clean and everything at the shop and reception was well organised and efficient. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Abundant birdlife. Good place for a stop over on a long road. Spectacular views from the lookouts. Unit 42: Equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Clean towels and linnen (2 single beds).

What an amazing experience...it was 43 degrees the day we visited, would be really great if canopies could be put up at the lookout points just for some shade. We literally took photos and ran because it was do hot.

Plan this visit to coincide with good rains it is really majestic. Take the whole day, walk down river, stop at the different viewing points. Then refresh yourself at their restaurant then off you go on your own game drive. This is another heritage site that they are doing an AWESOME job of protecting. Toilets and general area are well kept and clean I do believe you can camp there. It is simply refreshing

As the sun lowers in the sky the main falls are lip up. The magnificent scenery is breathtaking during the day hours as well! You can enjoy views from various points in the park like Orange River, Moonrock, Swartrante and many other areas in the park which give excellent photography opportunities to nature lovers... Peaceful place and there's a cyclist area....

It was a rare privilege to see the Gariep River in flood. Other great waterfalls like Victoria Falls are in tropical rain forests but it was a unique experience to go from desert heat to being saturated with spray within a few metres.

Beautiful 😍 awesome 👌 great 👍. I've traveled from Bloemfontein just to see this amazing place. It's crazy how they maintain this place so well. It's clean and friendly to children and a whole family. I am definitely visiting this place again soon. I'd like to book a weekend and try their activities because I didn't get the chance to see the whole place.

The river was full but so was the park. Nevertheless, it was a good experience. Things to take with: a towel (you’ll get wet), extra outfit, gripped shoes (rocks are slippery), beers and water. Oh, and watch out for protests, we waited an hour because some boer never paid his workers.

  • 4/5 Gerhard C. 1 year ago on Google
Still and excellent place to stay, but the units are begging for some maintenance. The AC filter was so dirty the unit was dis functional until cleaned and tiles missing in the bathroom. Staff are however exceptionally friendly and the location more than makes up for the small niggles. Would definitely recommend a stay over.

What an experience, and it was definitely worth the effort to get there. Most of the roads are in excellent condition and well maintained. It's a different world with the friendly nature of the people and the beautiful landscape. This should be on everyone's bucket list.

Our family and some friends, visited the Augrabies Nasional Park in December 2021. We were greatly impressed by the accommodation and the falls. We had a comfortable stay with aircon in our chalet and all the basic needs like a fridge, kettle, cutlery and such. The view from our chalet was enjoyable and we could see the lights at the falls in the evening which gave it an feeling of grandeur. The restaurant was up to expectation and the service friendly and helpful. We had an enjoyable time.

A nice scenic walk alongside the falls. Suggested to visit in January when the waters are more raging in order to experience the "spray" of the fall. A great spot for a great breakfast. The gift shop has many intriguing local gifts & great prices.

Very neat accommodation and professional staff. We came in an hour after closing and they waited for us. You find a lot of little insects flying around because of the recent rain, but the staff have it covered, buy your face net in the shop. The roads and walkways are very well maintained. I highly recommend this place.

This is one of my favourite places to visit. A lot of people miss out on the rest of the park as they only go to the water fall. There are a lot of trails inside the park with beautiful view points along the river.

Raw power of nature at its most impressive - especially when the Orange is flowing strongly - definitely a spot to put on the travel bucket list. The National Park is seemingly well run with clean and comfy chalets and a pretty campsite.

We had an awesome stay, once in a lifetime experience to see the falls and share in the laughter with everyone else as we became wet within seconds . Visited 2 years ago, but this time with the falls in full force. Amazing.

Awesome! Be prepared to get wet while experiencing the breathtaking views and thunderous water. The Park is well managed, well maintained. A shop and restaurant open from March 2021) are available to day visitors and chalet guests (who have access to the swimming pool). Wheelchair friendly paths give a variety of view options. Ample parking. Check website for entry fee, Parks card holders get benefits. A must see on the Orange River.

The Falls was an amazing experience, the campsite was good, no camping on grass. The men's ablutions wasn't in a very good state, only 1 working toilet. In the 3 days that we were there (Midweek) no maintenance done. A bit disappointing.

  • 1/5 Dalene W. 3 years ago on Google
Bathrooms at the camping site in bad shape. No toiletpaper in the men's toilets. Not cleaned regularly and the one toilet at the ladies did not flush properly. Taps at the washing basin loose. No dry space in the shower to put your bag. Really needs dome upgrading and maintenance.
