A little unexpected Gem!!! Very informative and educational. Yes, it’s small and operates on a low budget, but the staff was very helpful and gave us more “tourist” information about the area than any travel book or website provided. After visiting the museum and hall, take your time in the gardens, sit down on the bench, and enjoy the tranquil view over the river. Thanks again to all the staff for the excellent travel advice and friendly welcome to Upington.

A good place to find out about Upington's history, geological properties and equipment used back in the past. Afterwards there is a great steak house close by to see to the appetite you have, just follow your nose!

The staff were lovely and really helpful and informative, but the museum, as with most museums in this country, really needs an upgrade.

I was disappointed in the Kalahari Orange Museum, apparently the only museum in Upington. Inside was a shambles with alot of unlabelled miss matched junk. The wagons outside, degrading in the open air, breaks my heart as valuable treasures are being destroyed. Entrance was R30 per person and clearly this money does not go to the upkeep of this museum. I wish I had not visited here as I left angry and extremely disappointed.

Excellent reception. Curator very well qualified. Three degrees in history. Sorrow that a restaurant is being built which obstructs view on river.

Only researching and how sad the garden with wagon looks..calling volenteers like garden service and handy man can bring such life to our History Jewels...Hope to visit in the futore tourism and travel.

on our Road Trip we came across the Donkey Museum in Upington, WOW the most amazing history here, this is a must to see if you go into Upington, loved it
