I was spent a night here to attend an event of one of my relatives. Pretty decent place to stay night at Kurunegala. price is reasonable and room was clean. Place is located very close(1Km) to city center and you would hear bit of noice coming from nearby busy street. if you are unfamiliar with road noice, it would be little annoying. we had a breakfast and food was really good but we did not like the waiter served us for some other reasons.

There is so many good hotels in Kurunegala area so there is no reason to choose this hotel for this price range. I have heard so many bad news about this hotel so I do not recommend this hotel but if you like this choose this hotel.

Camrel is a small hotel which is situated near Kurunegala town on Negombo road. The place is decent and convenient to travel around Kurunegala. Also, the hotel personnel are friendly and supportive. Their rooms and the beds are okay, but the air conditioners don´t work well and the bathrooms are horrible. I guess they never maintain their bathrooms. The showers don´t work well and you have to wait for about half an hour to get hot water. The bathrooms are very dirty and the towels that they provide you are not clean. I stayed twice at the hotel and had some bad experience during my stay last December. There was a cupboard in the room with a padlock and I was unable to lock it because the padlock was broken. So, some of my belonings which I stored in the cupboard had been stolen by somebody while I was out. I got really disappointed and made a complaint about it to the assistant manager. I hope they would take more care in the future to make their guests feel safe within the premises. When you come to their meals, the prices of their menus are very high and sometimes not worth paying those amounts they are charging for certain menus. Overall, the place is safe to spend a couple of nights. Hope they would be responsible to maintain their bathrooms to make their guests feel little more comfortable. Wish you good luck! Cheers!

Good hotel they offer a great service

Unsanitary and unhygienic. There were cockroaches in my room. Days old food that were growing fungus on them were kept without cleaning. Hallways smelled funny. The bathroom walls need a good scrubbing.

It a good place to spend the night. Nice location. But be careful when they have a parties & DJ nights at their on rooftop and the banquet hall. It's a nightmare to sleep in the room. Too noisey. Feel like your head is going to blow up !!

Very bad experience during the stay. They have a menu full of all the items and when we request for one of them, they said as a policy they don't serve this (a particular meat item). To start off with, why do they have it on the menu then if they don't serve it as policy? When questioned about the same, the guy who was there to serve us raised his voice on us and literally screamed at us. However, after all that, we asked for a chopsuey rice, and they sent us a mixed fried rice. Overall, not recommending this place at all.
