Kurunegala Central Bus stand is the Largest bus stand in Sri Lanka. You can find buses to any destination you like. Don't buy anything to eat from the shops situated here. At night it's almost empty after 9pm

It says you can find a bus to any part of country from here. One of the main benefit this place is, it is organized as per the main roads wise despite the Bus Type (SLTB/Private or Normal/Semi/AC). In addition to that this place can be accessible from the most locations of the city.

The Kurunegala Center Bus Stand in Sri Lanka is a bustling transportation hub. Its central location makes it convenient for travelers. However, it could benefit from improved facilities and organization. Signage and seating are limited, which can be inconvenient during peak hours. The cleanliness could also be better maintained. Nevertheless, it serves as a crucial link for accessing various parts of Sri Lanka, offering a glimpse into the country's vibrant culture and daily life.

කුරුණෑගල ප්‍රධාන බස් හිටවන තැන.. A very busy bus stand. Also very noisy. There are buses to many major cities throughout the island. Both SLTB buses and private buses are available at the same bus stand. There is good space. There are also tunnels for pedestrians to cross safely. There are shopping malls upstairs at the bus stop. A lot of them are phone shops. There are even places to buy food, clothing, toys and more.

This bus stand, one of the country's largest, has been a crucial travel hub. However, it's in dire need of renovation. Private, CTB, and AC buses connecting various parts of the country operate here, making it a bustling center. The central location is convenient, and finding bus queues is relatively easy, with entrances from both Dambulla and Puttlam roads. 🏢 The surrounding area features a diverse range of shops in a shipping complex, from food courts to mobile phone stores. However, hygiene here is lacking, making it hard to find a decent lunch spot. Signage and seating are limited, which can be inconvenient during peak hours. 🚽 Washrooms are available at a cost, but they're not well-maintained, often emitting bad smells. Sound pollution is high due to excessive noise. The area lacks cleanliness and finding buses after 9 p.m. can be challenging. While it serves its purpose as a transport hub, improvements are urgently needed to enhance the overall experience for travelers. 🛠️🚌 👍 If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up. This is Kurunegala main bus stand. If you are new here and you need a bus ask someone because the bus parking there is very complicated.

Key point of fives destinations Colombo Up to South coast, Kandy up to east coast, dambulla to northern coast, puttalam up to manner coast, Negambo up to west coast, available public transport hub, you can find bus for anyway at major city ending. Public service bit low compering other major city bus station. Mainly day operations after 10 pm to morning 4.30 no operations at the site.

Comparatively a better place . Organized with destination boards for buses which anyone can find . But my understanding is it needs some improvements of direction boards for a completely outsider to find a bus. Situated in the middle of the city. It’s a strategic location. Washrooms are fairly alright but I don’t know about female washrooms condition.

Nice, clean and a good management is there.but very noisy due to buses sirens. Drivers always put teeir hand on horn.and conductors shouting very loudly. Even this very small area drivers drive the buses like road riders.so don't passing through bus stand otherwise you will face an accident.drivers don't care about people

Twice I traveled through kurunegala. Awesome location, Famous Ethagala Buddha statue, Clock tower. Colour lights. Big cities buses' name boards are very easy to find but I spend much time to find small or remote village buses.

Total chaos :D. Sri Lanka in its purest. Don't even try to find your bus- just ask some hanging around sellers or drivers - they know everything.

You can find busses to most of the main cities in the country here. Buses to Kandy,Colombo, are available almost all the time (except midnight). During day time there are buses to Dambulla, Kegalle,Matara, Anuradhapura,Polonnaruwa,Puttlam,Chilaw and Trincomalee and many other. You can access toilet facilities here which are okay. If you're new to this place, beware of thieves and scammers.

    Busy Place. Nicely built.

  • 3/5 Akira W. 3 years ago on Google
Crowded, hot and noisy. But then again, what else can you expect from a Sri Lankan bus stand. The layout is not confusing once you realize that all the busses are parked in a circle with one main exit leading to the main road.
