Good place to dine in. Their menu is mixed of Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese. Tasty and good in personal size portion. The place has dark, rustic Asian bar vibe. It may not be suitable for family with kids but perfect for friends to hang out. Book seats ahead as it might get crowded and full seated in busy hours.

This was the peak of our Bali dining experiences. Wow so good. The lobster and prawn dumplings, the roasted half duck. The chicken curry. Bah gawd the flavors. Essential stop if you come to Bali. For realz.

Excellent Taste! The service is also great. They recommend some menu and all taste fantastic. Try their Red Curry Duck, Gurame, and also some veggies. I actually ordered more than two dishes but I didn't capture all of them. I suggest to come with your friends and family as they serve quite big portion, and by sharing the meal you can add more variety of food to your table.

Arrived here at the restaurant at 2.30pm which was supposed to be closed and open again later for dinner but when my sister came in and begged them because we're all hungry, then they let us in. Yaiy! I love the vibes, the ambience and the orchids everywhere. Super delicious food and my favorite was the slow cook Rendang! The staff is super attentive and super friendly. Absolutely amazing experience! Will definitely come again!

The food was absolutely amazing, great flavour and well presented. Cocktails were equally amazing.. the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We had a great time and look forward to returning on our next trip to Bali. This place is a must visit

Food was very good. Had the Ancient Duck, Moo Ping, Burmese Lamb Curry (recommended by our server Chandra who was super nice!) and the Charred Cabbage. Enjoyed all of ‘em but the charred cabbage flavour was a little strong for our taste! Nevertheless Mama San is worth the visit - good vibes good music good food and drinks.

This restaurant is a good choice for special occasions. They served various Asian menu. But I personally like their red curry. The broth and spices are great, the portions are big and it can be shared with two people. They have a limited parking area, but don’t worry because they offer you a valet parking.

Lovely vibe, fantastic food and very good service. The staff is super friendly and helpful, The dishes are all worth their price and more. Post renovation the place is now more spacious and caters to more I will recommend making reservations, particularly if you are in Bali during peak season.

We visited this restaurant a group of 4 and had a lovely time. The food was tasty, well priced and had a very good variety. The interior decor was great, very nice atmosphere and vibe. Great restaurant for ordering lots of small plates to share with friends. I would come back for sure.

We loved it ! Everything we tried and you can see in our bill was very tasty and flavorful. The ambience is super cozy, kind of industrial chick and the service keeps the good vibe up. Probably not an every day place considering the abundance of lower budget good quality choices in Bali but certainly worth coming. We will certainly try it again!

The BEST dining experience in Bali! Set in a busy area it’s probably best to make a reservation first. The restaurant is a cozy little spot! We tried many dishes and each one was absolutely fantastic! The soft shell crab entree is a must, as well as the beef spare rib. The fried ice cream is the best I have had. Service is also immaculate! I highly recommend Mamasan to any visitor to Bali, you won’t be disappointed!

(Translated by Google) Serves the Asian Fusion menu. Many choices and interesting. For the interior it is quite ordinary (Balinese size), but after the food comes it will cover all the shortcomings. The food is delicious and the portions are big. Come during the pandemic, it is quite quiet, only 3 tables during lunch time. Heard from people, usually it will be difficult to find a parking space. (Original) Menyajikan menu asian fusion.

This is my second visit to this restaurant and it has been incredible both times. The food is full of flavour and the serves are generous. The service was a little slow tonight but the restaurant was completely full with people waiting to come in. The lobster Shu mai, red duck curry and Szechuan chicken and prawns were the stand outs for me. We also really enjoyed the salt and pepper squid, popcorn prawns, crispy chicken dumplings, salted pork, side vegetables and rice. The cocktails are also extremely good. It’s not the first visit and it won’t be the last.

Good food great service and wonderful interiors. The lamb and duck were really good and samosa chaat was sublime. The dumplings were not so good the filling was tasty but the dumpling 🥟 itself tore easily and stuck to the small ceramic cups and was basically soggy due to the melted aspic leaking (it’s the wrapper that was a fail). Have had many dumplings and this was not as good as it could have been. However overall experience was really good. I would come back :-)

I visited this place March 2022 when the covid still high and before the renovation on early 2023. I went there again a week ago (early July 2023), and the ambience, food menu, and the market target were changed. I miss the old Mamasan which was a family restaurant, but the quality and the taste of the food are still number one.

Sensational dining experience, breathtaking decor and amazing atmosphere with such a broad range of delicious Pan Asian flavours and Asian cuisines. Such a great selection of dishes, we were spoilt for choice. Definitely need to come a few times to try all the variety of dishes. Can’t wait to go back to Bali again just to dine at Mamasan again ❤️

I was so excited to visit here as I had never been. Thankfully I was with my friends who eat here all the time and I just followed them when ordering, everything was amazing, fresh, delicious and so beautifully presented. I wish I could have eaten here everyday. I am returning in January so will be sure to make a reservation ahead of my arrival. Thank you to everyone at Mamasan for an incredible experience.

Amazing fine dining in Bali. Mamasan serves Southeast Asian and Chinese-inspired dishes with its own, signature twist. The food at Mamasan is a delightful journey into the world of bold and spicy flavors. One standout dish that left a lasting impression on me was the "dengdeng balado," featuring caramelized wagyu beef cheek. The combination of tender, succulent beef and the rich, caramelized sauce was a flavor explosion in every bite. The spiciness of the dish added an exciting kick that elevated the overall dining experience. The menu at Mamasan is thoughtfully crafted, although most dishes have a fairly decent spiceness. Those seeking mild food maybe should not apply. The feedme option is a solid selection of special dishes and you won't be left feeling hungry. Cocktails are great too! What truly sets Mamasan apart, aside from its exceptional food, is the attentive and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your visit memorable. The service was impeccable, and the staff's knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu were evident. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the restaurant's ambiance is worth noting. The interior design creates a modern yet cozy atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends.

Mama San re-opened after the renovation with stronger and better everything. So this place is guaranteed crowd pleaser when it comes to Asian cuisine (predominantly Thai, Chinese). The ambiance is super. It is just nice to drink at the bars either at the dining room or upstair lounge. The dining room is much bigger now yet it still feels cozy. The service is prompt and pleasant with many staff has been working there a long time. Highly recommended.

Service were excellent and nice atmosphere but food was more of fusion. The beef salad was nice, black sticky rice was really good. Laksa - can give it a miss Vegetarian spring roll - can give it a miss too…

I have been dining here since 2019 - each time I’d visit Bali (that’s once of twice a year). The service and quality are and have been exceptional. It has expended its space in the past years and now it’s a bigger space but it still retained its coziness. The menu also changed once from the first time I tried it but the quality and consistency is just amazing. (personal note: I just miss the previous Peking duck dish, although the new dish is also very good) The cocktails at the bar area are also extraordinary and again, consistent. Note: they now ask for credit card details when making a reservation.

Fantastic - it's our second visit. The first was in the evening for a friend's birthday party. The whole evening was wonderful - food - service and I just love the decor it has a colonial feel about it. Then the other day we needed to be at a meeting in that area so decided to pop in for lunch- And we are very happy we did. They have a lunch menu for IDR 150 that comes with a lg ice tea. There were two options, we took one of each. A chicken dish & a pork belly. Both were really good and beautifully presented. It was definitely great value for money and we will definitely be going back.

This is a place you go to in Seminyak, when you are looking to treat yourself/your partner, or have a special occasion - and boy do they deliver. ⭐️ Yes it’s on the fancy side, but doesn’t come with painful prices. A little higher than most places? Sure. But the experience and quality is well worth it. The food explodes with flavour, and is presented immaculately. Service is warm, kind, as you’d probably come to expect from the beautiful Balinese people. The restaurant is beautiful, new, modern - refreshing. Even down to the Insta-worthy cutlery and table wear . A really fantastic experience, very glad we went. And best of all, can’t wait to go back!

The food here is really good, but i think the portion is a bit too small. Other than that the service is really top notch. We ordered 2 classic cocktails and the taste was sublime. Must try food is slow cooked rendang and soft shell crab.

This restaurant is a 6 stars... The food is the best we had so far. The small plater of pork belly is just heaven. And don't miss the Dendeng Balado.

  • 4/5 sujan s. 5 years ago on Google
Nice high ceiling space, the restaurant is in 2 level with see thru steel stairs accessed from two sides and a dark tone ambiance with huge portrait mural to complement the whole composition. Food was great including presentation, that invokes gastronomical senses to another level. The only reason for 4 stars is the price, which is on the expensive side. The crispy chicken dumplings were amazing, roasted duck with noodles was so so and green curry vegetables was great. The extra spicy level was just enough to perceive all different spices. All in all I would go again for dinner this time.

I have been coming to this place for years and yes it was the best dim sum in Bali. However this is my third time since it reopened post Covid closure and every time was progressively worse then the last time . Several months ago the did not have any steamed rice during the lunchtime, last week the fish head soup was really unpleasant and today the dim sum way bellow par.... smaller less stuffing overcooked ....

Five stars for the food! We came here on Christmas and the food was amazing. Hands down best steamed buns I’ve ever consumed in my life! So amazing. I honestly keep thinking about them and will probably need to eat them again soon. I’m taking off one star for the extremely overpriced wine selection. $50 USD for a twist off bottle of what tastes like a $4 Pinot Grigio put a damper on things. Additionally the wagyu beef dish was well seasoned and tasted good but it was a bit too fatty for what you’d think when you imagine wagyu beef.

Fantastic ambiance and decor, certainly one of the better restaurant interiors in the Seminyak area. Drinks, and service were great - staff are friendly and generally helpful. However the food is a bit of a let down this time around. The new menu features some fairly unimaginative south east Asian selections - I mean, everything tastes "alright" when it's drenched in semi sweet soy sauce as was the case with what I happened to order (kung pao chicken/lobster, stir fried squid, thai noodles). Prices have always been on the higher side, but given how good the food used to be, it was well justified. I can't say the same for what's currently on offer though (asking above 100k for a very average kway teow noodle dish is a bit disappointing). They used to have far more interesting and bolder options like foie gras and chicken dumplings, bone marrow, etc. Unsure if its due to the whole Covid situation, but the current menu is a stripped down and less creative version of what it used to be. Hopefully the old menu will be back soon so I can rate higher!

(Translated by Google) Come here because the rating is quite high and many are not delicious. Finally, we try to order pho and signature pork belly which is the most frequently reviewed by org. Standard portion, a bit pricey for local people. The pasta doesn't even get on my tongue. There is a really bad smell of meat in the pho (like lamb / pork?) It smells smelly when Javanese say it. For crispy pork belly, the pork is tough, the skin is soft, because of the sauce. We imagine the pigs will be juicy and the skin crispy. Meals out for about 400K for 2 main courses sm white rice plus drink. The service is really ok, the place is pretty good but a bit hot. (Original) Kesini krn ratingnya lumayan tinggi dan banyak yg blg enak. Akhirnya kita coba order pho sama signature pork belly yg paling sering di review org. Porsi standar,a bit pricey buat org lokal. Tastenya jg ga masuk di lidah saya. Ada aroma daging yg ga enak banget di pho nya (kayak lamb/pork?) bau lebus klo org jawa bilang. Buat crispy pork belly, daging babinya keras kulitnya lembek mgkn krn sauce. Bayangan kita babinya bakalan juicy dan kulitnya crispy. Makan berdua habis sekitar 400K untuk 2 menu main course sm nasi putih plus minum. Pelayanannya ok banget, tempat lumayan bagus tapi agak panas.

(Translated by Google) The food is really good, the price is sufficient for the location of the area there. It's just a bit less relaxed eating, it seems like in rush by the host who (I feel) want us to quickly finish eating maybe, or there will be a next reserve Our dinner time is 23 dec 2020, 6.30pm - 7.55 has left the restaurant. The situation in my opinion is not too crowded because there are 3/4 empty tables around us Maybe we chose the wrong place 😂 (Original) Makanan enak banget, harga cukup untuk lokasi daerah sana.

What I like the most is when the waiter give us advices that what goes well with what when we ordered the food. The portions are big and the tastes are good. But maybe our expectation is higher since we heard that this place is always full everyday in the past. We thought the food will be more unique but mostly are thai food and the fushion is not too extraordinary. But still it's good and price is reasonable.

Quite overrated, the taste of Masamma curry was to sweet. Roasted duck just ok. Cheese Nan too oily. Too pricey for the food like this.

Best fine Asian restaurant in Bali! Pricy but worth it! Definitely get the duck, it comes with an authentic hoisin sauce.

A delicious modern twist to Indonesian cuisine! Must tries are the rendang and pork belly. Some dimsum is quite good, too. Be sure to book a table in advance as the place gets crowded.

As usual in Bali, the staff were very welcoming and helpful - Sadly, the cocktails were horrible and the food as bad. I could say the prices were high, but it wouldn't matter if they were half the price, it would still be horrible. I took one sip of each of the cocktails and ordered a soda water- my wife couldn't drink them either. The meals were poor with far too much salt & certainly not anything like what was on the menu. My massaman curry was nothing like anything I've had before & not in a good way. But I paid in full because I didn't want discount, I wanted a nice evening out with good food and drinks - it wasn't provided but the staff still need paying.

Lovely asian fusion. Came at lunch time but not everything was available. We had tuna tartare, crispy fried fish, soft shell crab pad thai, prawn and pomelo salad. Food was well seasoned and very very tasty. Worth a special trip down.

Not as good as it was 5yrs ago but still has a great fun vibe. Food certainly nowhere near the old quality as the smaller bite plates used to bebthe best but nothing really there to shares for groups properly anymore

Highly rated place with a mix of Thai/Asian food. I couldn’t give 5 starts because the food just wasn’t as good as we expected. Food is good and the restaurant itself is really cool, very spacious, clean and even has free wifi! We actually had to work whole there and it’s nice that they had a 2nd level (smoking section I think) that has sofa/chairs/bar. Overall I would say food is ok, I would prefer local (cheaper) but the portions are nice size, presentation is good and well seasoned. I would skip the duck, it’s not traditional Peking duck so maybe it’s due to our expectations. Location is just off the busy strip. Reservations are a must & you need to confirm the kids after 6pm stipulation that restricts you making online reservations if you have children. We went at lunch to avoid it so confirm first if you want to go for dinner. Security or something like that at the door. Nice drink menu & good service.

Always top quality food and service. Loved the pork and squid salad and the snapper yellow curry with pilaf rice and cashews was just delicious. Could have a few more wines available by the glass, didn't ruin experience though, it was lovely. Excellent service from moment we arrived to the door man arranging our taxi as we left.

Great place with great ambience, the appetizers were FIRE (tried the xiaolongbao, shell crab and fried dumplings). Main course I found the flavor a bit too heavy, but besides that no complaints. Def come with friends here as the starting point of your night out. Can’t wait to be back 👍🏾

You know that ominous feeling when you walk into an Asian restaurant and all the guests dining are white? That’s exactly what happened here. The food was ok. I’ll eat it but definitely overpriced for what it was. The drinks on the other hand were pretty good and honestly decently priced for cocktails. Interesting place to try but not sure I’ll ever come back

One amazing place. Visit here two different times while on my trip to Bali and I cannot wait to come back again when I visit next time. The atmosphere is amazing from the second you walk in and the staff is so friendly. There’s a nice large bar area, beautifully decorated dining area, and a beautiful lavatory. The chef has done an amazing job, creating a menu with explosions of flavor. Every item that we ordered had a unique flavor that was amazing and then many times extremely different than what you would expect but in a good way. This is not just a place to eat, but it’s a place to have , an amazing dining experience. The bar has delicious handcrafted beverages, I highly recommend the coconut Mojito. If you are going to visit the Seminyak area in the future, I would highly suggest visiting this establishment, and you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to return next year when I come to a Bali again.

It was fairly easy to get a reservation for four people on a Friday evening for dinner, but the place was packed when we arrived. Our waiter was friendly and happy to provide recommendations (great ones!) when asked for. The cocktails were refreshing and the food was so good and flavourful! The combinations were unconventional but worked really well together. The food disappeared as it arrived, hence no pictures :( The desserts were the cherry on the cake and we will definitely re-visit when we go back to Bali.

I wanted to take photos of all the dishes we had here, as they were presented so beautifully. However, the food is just too delicious. The soft shell crab is one of the best dishes I've ever had, also great were the duck and mushroom dumplings, the grouper and the octopus salad. The cocktails are also delicious, but I'd like to see some mocktail options. Their non-alcoholic drinks are just water and soda which is disappointing and seems a little behind the times.

Very large, 2 floor spacious restaurant with very lavish and stylish interior ambience - very well, and expensively done Not easy to get a table sometimes so best to book ahead Service was good - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and attentive. Lots of staff Food was excellent on the whole - only minor issues but just being picky. Didn't like the very fatty and strong flavoured sausage but that was the only thing There were 3 of us and we wanted to try the set menu but they insist you all have to have it so consequently we ended up with too much food which was a waste at this price level. We would not choose the set menu again Drinks expensive but good. Overall, expensive and high end for tourists, but nice for a treat - but I'd recommend a la carte so you don't all have to plough through too much food

Except for the pork curry and fish all the dishes looked good but taste wise not authentic. The prices were exorbitant given the portions. Pho did not at all taste like its Vietnamese name and had none of the herbs nor robust clear beefy broth. The rum baba was a huge disappointment with nary a taste of rum. Just sweet cake and blah ice cream . Rendang was also not the best in Bali. But service was excellent and professional and a nice setting though the party near us was incredibly loud

Fantastic service and delicious drinks! Edit: Came here for dinner tonight and we had a beautiful night. Wonderful food and service. Our favourites were the laska whole grouper and the octopus 🤗 and the sticky rice for dessert 🍪

Nestled in the heart of Seminyak, Mamasan is a culinary gem that promises a journey through the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was a delightful blend of modern chic and old-world charm, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. To start, we ordered Smoked salmon with betel leaf and Crispy soft shell crab, they were nothing short of perfection. Each bite was a burst of exquisite flavors, with a delicate balance of spices and textures. For the main courses, we opted for the Tuna Crudo, Smoked fish and prawn sausages, Dendeng balado and Yellow curry grouper. The dishes arrived beautifully presented and exceeded our expectations. It was a harmonious symphony of tastes that danced on our palates. What sets Mamasan apart is not just the outstanding cuisine but also the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to enhance our dining experience. In conclusion, MamaSan Bali is a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary culinary adventure in Bali. It's a place where tradition meets innovation, and every dish tells a story. Dining here is not just a meal; it's a sensory voyage that will leave you craving for more. We can't wait to return and explore more of Mamasan's culinary treasures!

No words. Amazing. The food was up there with the best food I've had ever. We got a number of small plates, and were surprised by the portions. They were big portions, and everything about each dish was amazing. These duck dumplings were amazing, the soft shell crab was perfect. This bone marrow naan was beautiful. Highly highly recommend.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday whilst we we’re in Bali. Restaurant wanted to charge us ‘corkage’ for the cake. However, after some discussion, they decided to waive off the fee. We had the set menu for dinner and the special mention to the beef carpaccio which was totally outstanding! Excellent wait staff! I haven’t been back since pre-Covid and the standard of food is still as good!!!

  • 5/5 Timothy L. 5 months ago on Google
Deliciously made dishes and brilliantly done cocktails coupled along with a beautiful atmosphere and great service makes this one highly recommended restaurant to try in Bali. Went for lunch and tried the drunken chicken noodles, vanilla old fashioned, and caramel espresso martini.

  • 5/5 Andrew M. 6 months ago on Google
Outstanding!! Came here with the family and my two kids aged 10 and 6 moaned that there wasn’t “anything” for them to eat. Then the food arrived along with my highly anticipated beef rendang which was cooked to absolute perfection and my little girls annihilated my dish. The small amount of the beef rendang I managed to salvage was absolutely delicious as was the rest of the food which was ordered. 10/10 for food, service and ambience. Price wise for the four of us with our food orders was just shy of AU$100.00 but definitely worth it for that quality. Would I go back? Oh Hell Yeah!!

Had lunch here during my birthday🎉🎈my husband and I enjoyed the food. Good tasty food, good ambience and very good set up. It is worth to try this restaurant when you visit Bali.

First time coming back after a while. We ordered the deep fried chicken dumpling, prawn and scallop dumpling, soft shell crab pad thai, and the Peking duck. Chicken dumplings were good, nice and crispy, juicy filling. The prawn and scallop looked amazing with the vibrant red wrapping but a let down as the filling was so dry. Perhaps overcooked. The pad thai was so so, too sweet to my liking. The Peking duck was overall nice but it could’ve been served warmer - the duck was a little cold when it got to our table.

Nicely designed place. Tried their Lunar New Year set menu for dinner, which was nice but turned out to be too much food so ended up taking some back to the Villa. Nice cocktails but would suggest sitting downstairs for better atmosphere.
