Quirky beach, and a good one to see the sun set. You have to walk though a labyrinth of shops and the coral out crops. But sun set is super busy. And parking is mad, 5k again. High tide was coming up when we left so you would prob loose access to some of the beaches

Uluwatu Beach in Bali stands as a testament to the island's unparalleled beauty and cultural richness. Nestled on the southern Bukit Peninsula, this beach is a spectacle of towering cliffs and pristine azure waters. The rugged coastline and limestone formations create a dramatic backdrop, making it a favorite among nature enthusiasts and surfers alike. The highlight of Uluwatu Beach is undoubtedly the Uluwatu Temple perched atop the cliff. This ancient sea temple not only offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean but also hosts traditional Kecak dance performances during sunset, adding a touch of Balinese spirituality and artistry to the experience. Surfers flock to Uluwatu for its world-class waves, attracting both beginners and seasoned surfers seeking an adrenaline rush. The breaks here are powerful and consistent, making it a surf haven and a venue for international competitions. For those seeking tranquility, Uluwatu Beach provides hidden coves and secluded spots where the sound of crashing waves becomes a soothing melody. Sunset at Uluwatu is a magical affair, with the sun sinking into the horizon, casting a warm glow over the temple and the ocean. In summary, Uluwatu Beach is a captivating blend of natural wonders, cultural significance, and thrilling water activities. Whether you're a surfer, a culture enthusiast, or simply in search of breathtaking landscapes, Uluwatu Beach promises an unforgettable Balinese experience.

Uluwatu Beach in Bali is a surfer's paradise, known for its stunning coastline and epic waves. Here's what makes it special: • The beach is located on the southern tip of the island, with rocky cliffs and crystal-clear waters that are perfect for surfing. • The waves at Uluwatu are some of the most consistent in Bali, making it a favorite spot among surfers from around the world. • In addition to the surf, Uluwatu Beach is home to several beachfront cafes and restaurants that offer delicious seafood and stunning ocean views. • The area is also home to a population of monkeys, so visitors should be cautious and keep their belongings secured. • Uluwatu Beach is also famous for its beautiful sunsets, making it a popular spot for sunset yoga, photography, and beach picnics.

So many rocks and hard waves. Not recommended to beginners! But the place is really nice and unique.

Interesting place with an amazing atmosphere. Beautiful beach (not for swimming, only for surfing), restaurants and shops built into the cliff above it. This place (full of surfers) lives its own life, you should visit it and feel its energy 😊

Beautiful location. Can’t really swim there. Just a couple of nice photos. We stayed for an hour. Discovered 2 nice spots for instagram. The terrible thing is that at such a tourist place there are so many garbage everywhere. Unfortunately. I understand that there not only good quality of people coming there. but differently locals can do something. because they are gaining money from this.

A great beach with beautiful clear waters actually deep enough for swimming! Note: the “big long stairs” are a myth! The stairs are perfectly fine and managable, and it takes maybe 8 minutes to walk down. Trust me, I hate stairs and this was a breeze! Enjoy the beach, and forget bringing a towel since the waves cover half od the beach.

Well worth the 1000 steps in and out, whilst dodging wild monkeys! A truly beautiful beach and surrounds, with a great array of simple eateries and general trinket sellers built into the cliff above. Not full of tourists, rather global surfer types and expat middle aged Aussies smoking tailors and drinking big bintangs....bliss.

To be honest all beaches in Uluwatu are giving me vibes of Nusa Penida but the Uluwatu Beach was the most similar to them by far. You have a long distance walk downstairs to get to the beach but views are just amazing. From the top you can see beautiful cliffs of Uluwatu covered by green in association with beautiful ocean. Place is just perfect for watching sunsets - I think the best on whole island. On the cliffs there are plenty of bars cafes and restaurants when you can drink eat and watch the sunset. Highly recommended place on your trip to Uluwatu

very lovely beach. in the morning it is flooded due to the tide and there is little space, but in the afternoon the water recedes and reveals beautiful places. there are not that many people at all. everyone will find a piece of beach for themselves. it's really nice here. nice people, nice atmosphere. We highly recommend it.

Uluwatu Beach is rated as one of the best white beaches in all of Bali! Uluwatu comes from ulu, meaning "lands end", and watu, meaning "rock". This place is really amazing ...

This place is truly amazing. I see beautiful natural paintings here. The beach is quite clean, and the parking fee is only 2,000 rupiah. To get to the beach, you need to descend a few stairs until you reach the bottom. In my opinion, this place is definitely worth visiting.

Awesome surfing spot and pretty cool cave / beach area to access the water. Not really suitable for inexperienced swimmers as there is a strong current, big waves and sharp coral reef & cliff rocks. Beautiful location though Steep potentially dangerous steps to get access.

Definitely not 1,000 stairs, closer to 100. It's not easy, but it's still possible for younger kids. If you are able to trek down the 100 or so steep steps and know that you have to go back up them, it's so worth it. The steeper steps closer to the bottom has handrails to make it easier. There's also shops and places to drink and eat about halfway down so those places can be a short pitstop if needed. Multiple coves, great for wading in the turquoise water, watching surfers or enjoying the sun while laying in the sand. Plenty of space under the shade of the caves as well. One of the most memorable beaches I've been to. Please keep it clean.

This beach is vey small with overhead cliffs, it’s good for surfers not for the family and individuals. Accessibility is very hard, many narrow and steep stairs with sharp turns till you get to the sands. No hand rail , you have to be very careful getting down through these steps!

  • 5/5 Shashank S. 1 year ago on Google
This place is a surfers paradise. The beach itself is very small, and waves can be high. Place has decent amenities. But overall the outlook and landscape of the place differs a lot from other beaches which makes it very unique and breathtaking. Combine this with Uluwatu temple tour and you will not be disappointed. A day well spent. Can get bit crowded, but totally manageable. Cafes and changing room facilities are available. Cafes are not beach side, but a little above on the cliffs.

Sunsets never get less magical.. You will find Uluwatu on the south- western tip of the Bukit Peninsula of Bali. This destination is world class for surf breaks and white sandy beaches, as well as having a really relaxed and trendy atmosphere. And the best thing?- its off the beaten track compared to other places in this stunning country... The beaches in Uluwatu located in the South-western region of the Bukit Peninsula are some of the most sought-after beaches in all of Indonesia because of their scenic beauty and luxurious villas and resorts that line the beaches. Several areas in Bali boast of gorgeous beaches, but none are quite like the beaches you will find in Uluwatu, whose coasts are lined with cliffs and forests. Uluwatu beaches are also known for their strong, yet controlled waves which are ideal for surfing and other water-sports such as windsurfing and paddle-boarding. Surfers from across the world come to the beaches in Uluwatu to take advantage of the tides and currents... Respect mother nature... Say no to plastic.. Go green..
