One of the most enriching experience of life that a person can live in. Ashram is a place where the students get to get away from the dull and monotonous life of the modern era. Along with the training of Kalaripayattu, the seva(service) teaches the students how to survive anywhere without facing much drudgery. The accommodation is good and the food is really healthy and refreshing. The Ashram takes you into the world of calmness and solitude amidst the chaos of modern life. Take some time out of your chaotic life, and experience the liberal spiritual environment.

It's been two months now since I have been staying in the ashram. The environment here is an ultimate new experience. Everyday comes with a surprise with something new to learn. The accommodation and food here is really good and refreshing for the students. The trainers focus a lot over the students. Along with the training, the students get to get along with the nature too by doing some Seva(service). I am having a time of my life here away from all the chaos of the city life.

Dharmikam Ashram is a very special and beautiful place to visit. May it be for undergoing treatments in the system of Kalari Chikilsa, practicing Kalaripayattu, the world's oldest martial art, or just to find inner peace and tranquility. It is a place where you can fully let go of your day to day stress. I would highly recommend spending at least 14 days there to fully understand the Ashram schedule and become part of it. Anyone who wants to learn Kalaripayattu as it was meant to be taught should come here and learn from Guruji. The traditional way of teaching and treating has become rare in India and is found in very few authentic places like this Ashram.

I came with a severe backpain. Doctors had misdiagnosed my problem and recommended me to undergo surgery after 6 months of treatment without improvement. Instead of cagoing for surgery I decided to come to Ashram and was treated ther for full 21-days-treatment-course under the guidance and supervision of Swamiji. After 3 weeks I was able to walk normal again. A few weeks after the end of the treatment period I was back to normal. Doctors could not explain this. I strongly recommend to visit this Ashram for any kind of health related issue as well as for kalari training.

Visit this place with modesty and an open mind and let yourself be surprised what you can learn, not only about Kalaripayattu, but about yourself, your limits and your potential to overcome those. This place gives you the chance to get away from your everyday life and make whole new experiences. Everyone who is willing to grow should visit this place. I am very thankful that I had the chance to stay at Dharmikam Ashram!

it has been now two years since i was in the Kalariyil Dharmikam Ashram of Swamiji Hanuman Das. I was staying there for 5 months until my visa expired. i was reading the previous reviews and i decided to write a more precise explenation of my experience, to avoid a simplified and disrespectful description. But for the people who want the fast image in one sentence i would decribe this place as a possibility of self-realisation through Kalari Payattu, which is the Martial Arts and the Daily work to maintain and serve the Ashram. In the Time i was there, many people came and visited the Ashram. But very few of them stayed there for several months or a year or more. The once who stayed were benefiting a stonger mind and body, self centered and less egoistic. The toughest part of all is to overcome your apparent self and let go of images and wishes and hopes that sometimes bloc yourself of growing over physically and mentally borders. If you are ready to grow and let go, Swamiji Hanuma Das will lead you, mentally, physically and spiritually to step by step growing and self realising and becoming a better human being. For me the first two months were an extreme challenge. i was confronted with a new country, new language, new culture, new martial arts, new work. i had no time to claim or cry, because i was falling to bed like dead and at 5o´clock in the morning i had to get ready for the next day. But the more i stayed there, i felt that my body and mind were getting stonger. Still the work was hard but i felt the same work was done with less resistance, so i was even saving Energy by the same activity. The way i was taught under Swamiji and his qualified Masters was very special. Even now after two years i still benefit from that experience. I am very grateful that i had the opportunity to meet Swamiji and spend time in the Ashram. If my son would ask me once, which school can you recommend me to learn the lessons for my life, i would tell him to go to the kalariyil Dharmikam Ashram before you even start going to University or any other institution. Maybe when he would go there he would hate me at the beginning, and ask why i have sent him there, but if he would be patient enough to go through all the ups and downs he would understand. And at the end of my words you will realise that this is only a review and if  you really want to know if you are ready for that place, the only way is to go there and find out. All the best. Dear Swamiji, thank you very much for building this holistic place. Pranam

Photography and Mobile usuage is limited to improve the quality of spiritual living in the presence of Jai Shri Ram and Hanuman ji. Many practices of kalari like Kalari payyattu (martial arts), Kalari vaidhyam (treatment) and Dharmik living are practiced here.

I am studying here since 3 months And I am having a great experience here. Ashram is the place where we can get more close to nature and ourselves. Each day is coming with new adventures We are learning self defense, sticks and will be able to learn many other weapons. The instructors are really good. And Swamiji is taking care of each student as if he would be their grandfather.

I have learned at Indian School of Martial Arts Germany and stayed at Kalariyil Dharmikam Ashram during summer 2018. It was the most amazing and mind-blowing time of my life. I have learned so many things there about practices and about myself. I am going there again this year to stay for 6 months or longer. I can advice everyone to try this! It is a life-changing adventure. Pranams to Swamiji and my instructors!

The ashram holds a special place in my heart. It is a haven of peace and tranquility, where ancient arts are taught. The healing art of Siddha Veda is practiced here. The system incorporates massage with handmade oils and the ingestion of various herbal tinctures and preparations made from local plants. It is an unforgettable experience to watch these plants grow in the gardens of the ashram and then to observe the process of turning them into medicines. There is such a connection between the practice of medicine here and the surrounding environment. All of the tools and materials come from what is available locally, and the knowledge itself has been here for thousands of years. On the other hand, if one truly seeks knowledge of the martial arts and of spiritual practice, then to stay and learn at the ashram is to tap into a great lineage of Guru and student which stretches back generations. Waking up early for class in the morning and training in Kalaripayattu is unforgettable. Training sessions are intense and focus on overall fitness, flexibility, strength and stamina. However, to simply have these alone is not enough. These facets of training should be applied to the flow of the art form itself. This is where the experience of the teachers is invaluable. Go and try it out for yourself and see the beauty of the Mother of Martial Arts!

My husband and I stayed at Kalariyil Dharmikam Ashram for about 2 weeks in November 2018. We had a lovely time with amazing authentic kalari treatments. It was our first time in India and we had a great experience. Swami helped us explore the nearby backwaters and Kanyakumari. But the most beautiful part we saw was the Ashram itself. Covered with coconut trees, beautiful and clean, super delicious food, high class rooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed our time and will return soon for a longer time.
