Great history and structure and a great museum but all descriptions were in Dutch. Alas my Dutch is not that good. Saw plenty of students visiting to learn about their history. The surround architecture was great and mostly well maintained.

Fort Zeelandia has a rich history in Suriname. Nicely located by the river for obvious reasons by the colonialists. Every collection. The artefact tells a fascinating story of the country. Still, I wasn't prepared for the emotion and impression left in me by the two tiny prisons located in this facility where formerly enslaved people were kept. On a positive note though, the story of three heroes ( I can't recall their names) who led a successful rebellion against the colonialists leaves me with a lot of pride!

Pretty weird to be here and see the history we as Dutch people influenced and changed. The diet is breathing history and you feel like things can happen just in front of you. The place of the december killings are a real eye-opener re the history of the fort. It is still unrevealed who did what and who escaped bfrom this. But when you are there you can feel the fear people must have felt

(Translated by Google) Fort Zeelandia a historic location from the beginning of the colonization of Suriname. Also from events from a nearby past. Definitely recommended to visit. Remember that the museum closes at 2 p.m. Following a visit to the Waterkant is a must.

The Zeelandia Fort in Paramaribo is a small, but well-preserved historic location with a museum with informative exhibits. The riverside location provides scenic views, but the fort's signage could benefit from more detailed English translations. A good visit for history enthusiasts. Certainly, it’s a historical gem, offering a glimpse into Suriname's colonial past.

It was a great site to visit but most of the museum area was closed as it was after 2:00 pm. It is quite a good experience to walk around and see the old fort. Would be lovely if there were places to eat on site but that is covered by the Waka Pasi. All in all a good place to visit.

(Translated by Google) Great seaside resort in the middle of the jungle. Great source for swimming with all kinds of facilities around it. There is supervision and even lifeguards that keep an eye on things. The 3 cocos provide the creek with running water and the bottom is made of soft silica sand which makes it nice to walk through the water. They have also taken into account small children who can also bathe without any problems. There are different depths ranging from 50 cm to 200 cm depth. It is a nice ride from the city so keep in mind that the road to it is not paved everywhere and it can be quite bumpy. Absolutely worth the effort to visit 👍🏽👌🏽👏🏽 (Original) Geweldige badplaats midden in de jungle.

(Translated by Google) We participated in the tour. Nice stories and were well told. Nice to hear and get to know history like this. We then walked through the rooms with their presentations ourselves. You are surprised that you still know so little. It is short and explained with nice things. It was a pity that the story was not available in book form. The shop was not aimed at tourists, which was a shame.
