It is a horse-shoe shaped lake in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. It was created by Nawazish Muhammad Khan, the son-in-law of Nawab Alivardi Khan. It was used as the residence of Nawazish and Ghaseti Begum, Nawazish's beloved wife. It is said that after Nawazish died, Ghaseti Begum lived here until Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah took over the palace and seized the residents' in 1756 AD. Motijhil was also the residence of Warren Hastings from 1771 to 1773, This is the new version of old motijhil park. This a a large park just like Eco park in Kolkata. U can stay at the park, and spent a night there. There u can experience light and visual show. There is a little toy train in the park, and various food courts available there. Beside this new park, there is the Old(original) Motijhil park. U should also visit there. Time: 11 AM - 8 PM Fare: 30/-

This place is very well kept, clean, huge and beautiful. The lake is so huge I was shocked. The flowers and garden is so well designed and is a great place to picnic and just relax. There is also sort of a train (which does not run on a rail) from which you can tour the entire park because it's so big so it's really useful. The ticket for the train is only 40 rs per head. There are also slides for the kids to have fun. There were also cottages inside where you can stay and also a good court. Overall it was an amazing experience.

This is not just a park or a restaurant, this is Motijhil Eco Park Guest House too. There will be 4 cottages, each having two double bedded room and one suite all inside an enclosure of nice low plastic fencing. It segregates the residence inside island of huge 300 acre with three km periphery inside this famous water body. Cons are huge crowd thronging around your bunglow whole day peeping inside, restaurant half a km away, food getting cold on way, food is exceptionally bad, staff behaviour change according to situation they create, asking to spell your name.

Motijheel, the cradle of British rule in India, stands witness to a remarkable turning point in Indian history. A 350 acre oxbow lake formed out of an abandoned bed of river Bhagirathi, the Motijheel, derived its name from extensive pearl cultivation during the Nawabi period. Motijheel Park is open: Mon - Mon 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM.Entrance fee is only 20 Rs per person and light-sound show of evening is also included. There are statues Nawab Siraj, Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, There are thousands to trees, flowers blooming, a huge crescent shaped lake. Motijhil (also Motijheel, literal translation: Pearl Lake), also known as Company's Lake due to its association with the East India Company, is a horse-shoe shaped lake in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. It was created by Nawazish Muhammad Khan, the son-in-law of Nawab Alivardi Khan. The Meaning of Motijheel Moti means pearl and jheel means lake, thus giving its name Pearl Lake. The history of Motijheel dates back beyond the days of the Battle of Plassey. It served as a pleasure garden of Nawazish Muhammad Khan, son-in-law of Alivardi Khan. It consisted of a towering gateway, a three-domed mosque and a royal place named Sang-i-dalan.

A quiet place for an evening walk. Nice atmosphere and away from the noisy streets of Berhampur. It spans more than a kilometre long, so visitors must have some time in their hands to fully explore the place, it has garden based on the famous charbagh architecture and a rose garden and many more. There's an amphitheatre for cultural programme. There's a light and sound system for describing conspiracy against Siraj ud Doula. Worth a visit if you're staying in Berhampur.

One of the best park to visit in West Bengal. It has beautiful flower garden, beautiful bench to rest, kids playground, and many more things. You can also see and feel historic story with light show and statues. Come with family, friends or love one. You will love it like i do.

The place was well maintained but the most important attraction of the park the light and sound is recently not in service. Boating is also closed. The tariff of the cottage inside is too high (starting from 3500/- with GST). Without any of the above services like boating etc. it is worthless to stay there.

The Jheel was famous for raising golden tinted pearls extracted from union margaritiferid species. The nearest airport is at Kolkata, located about 195 km from Murshidabad. Murshidabad railway station is connected by trains to Howrah, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmadabad and several other Indian cities. Taxi services are available from the station. Mushidabad is well connected by road. State-run buses from Kolkata, Burdwan, Rampurhat, Suri, Bolpur, Malda, Krishnagar and Durgapur do ply regularly to Murshidabad. One can also hire a taxi to reach Murshidabad from the above mentioned places.

Very beautiful park. Should visit in winter so you can enjoy variety of flowers. There is boat riding facility available in the lake. One can opt for tandem bicycle with the rent of ₹50 for half an hour.

It's just a mini Eco park(the one from Kolkata). It can be a good place to visit during winter. Not preferable during summer or in the rainy season as it's too hot during that time.
