I stayed there for a week and really did not enjoy my stay. First, the beds are really uncomfortable and the room I was in was overall not as advertised on the website and kinda gross-looking. The location is really not that good as you are far from everything you’d want to see and the street the hostel is on has no restaurant, no bars and no life basically. The staff is unhelpful. When I asked someone at the front desk about public transport, they just told me “buy an oyster card” (I had no idea what that was at the time, no idea where or how to buy it and what was my best ticket option for the amount of time I was staying) I was hoping they would be a bit more helpful as I have no idea how their public transport system works. Our light above the mirror in our room was also not working and after telling them, it was never fixed. The breakfast is not included and when I tried to go for the first time, I did not know this or how the breakfast even works as no one explained it to me during check-in. I went to the breakfast area and asked someone who was working there where I could get a glass and she told me to go in the kitchen, pointing to what looked like a staff kitchen, but I went in anyway as she told me to go there. When I walked in, I looked around to make sure I was not out of place and two ladies were there and were not saying anything, so I assumed this is how this hostel worked and grabbed a glass from a shelf. Then, one of the ladies yelled at me asking me who I was and what I was doing here. I told her that her co-worker told me to come here to get a glass and she kept telling me this is staff only. I apologized multiple times but she kept talking to me in a degrading way. I thought of leaving multiple times and loosing my money if it meant I had a better experience somewhere else.

All in all a five star experience. The hostel is well run, welcoming and has a nice modern design. The facilities and activities are plenty and the extras available (towels, hair dryers, adapters etc) are either fairly priced or even free. We stayed in a four bed room as a group of four and were surprised by the superb bathroom and comfortable beds. However a table and chair would have been nice in the room too, at least when it isn't shared. The only negative aspect was the pointless online check-in, as this doesn't apply to groups.

Really well located hostel in the centre of London. Really lovely atmosphere and decor inside. Rooms were well furnished with a very nice bathroom and comfy beds, felt very safe even in shared dorms with strangers (lockers included). Beds came equipped with a personal light, shelf, and charger. Kitchen was very well equipped with good appliances and plenty of utensils; can be hard to find much fridge space but that is understandable. Nice communal areas such as seating both near reception and near the bar. Would definitely recommend.

My first hostel experience; and won't be the last. Reception staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Lots of amenities available at reception, including umbrellas, travel adapters and hair-dryers. I stayed in a 4 bed female-only room. Room was clean and comfortable, as well as very warm. Bathroom was also clean; our sink was clogged at one point and reception was efficient in getting maintenance to come repair it! Would recommend again, really enjoyed my stay.

The lockers can fit a standard sized carry on and a small bag. The hostel rooms are very nice. There is a light, USB charger, plug and small shelf, safe, and fan at each bunk. And the bed is actually quite comfortable. The showers and bathrooms are clean. And after 1 person leaves they seem to clean it very soon after. The kitchen space is amazing and a great highlight to this place as well as the 4 fridges that everyone can use. We had no problems and nobody took our food. There is also free sections in the fridge and pantry. Unfortunately, some people aren’t very good at washing dishes so you will have to wash some yourself. The breakfast buffet looks lacking for the price a little over 7 pounds. The only good part out of purchasing it is easily the coffee. Because the coffee pot in the kitchen looks kinda gross. There’s also a bar and luckily things don’t get too rowdy here. Everyone seems pretty tame but still has a good time playing pool, table tennis, and table football The place feels very safe and the workers are all very kind and this is easily the best hostel we’ve ever stayed in.

My experience as a guest had everything to be wonderful, but it ended up being a little frustrating. I was very well attended to at check in (I arrived a little late, almost midnight), and the hostel facilities (bed and bathrooms) are clean and comfortable (in line with the price paid). I had no problems with the basics. However, the issue of locker security and services was disappointing. I left some purchases in one of the lockers, as I was going to spend a few days in Wales, but I was going back to London 8 days later, as I was going back to my country from there and I didn't want to carry too much weight on the train. I asked the employee if it would be okay to leave my belongings there all those days, and he said no, I would just leave a note next to the bag (and that's what I did), and pay the difference when I picked up the items. When I returned to the place 8 days later, I discovered that the locker where I left my purchases had the belongings of another guest, and that my purchases had disappeared... The employees searched, but did not find my things and, 'apparently', the system of cameras didn't reveal much. At least, the place manager reimbursed me the amount I had spent on purchases. I suggest, however, improving this issue (both employee training and security), as the money returned, but the sentimental value linked to the products that I lost, unfortunately were lost somewhere in greater London (or who knows, in another near city...). Unfortunately, I will not be staying there again.

Good price for a London stay. That’s about the only positive. Very average hostel when compared to the many I’ve stayed at. One lift in operation. A cleaner who cleans the kitchen at 7am (prime traveller breakfast time. Doors that bang. Getting shouted at for tapping a vending machine that doesn’t release your selection. Making money off holding your bags. Rooms that rival Hong Kong for heat and humidity…. The list goes on.

By far the best hostel I have come across while traveling Europe. Most importantly, very clean, with a super secure system making sure no one is wandering around where they shouldn’t be. The reception was super helpful and took any concerns raised very seriously. The lounge was great, lively and fun for a night of drinking. The kitchen was equipped with whatever you need, and the clean out system ensured there was room for anyone that needed to store food. I especially appreciated that you can extend your checkout and sleep in, and that there are storage lockers for bags before check in (at a moderate price). The only downside is that you can hear the trains running by it at night, and it isn’t super close to an underground station (less than 10 min walk, but that’s far with heavy bags on you)

Best experience ever. This place is clean, comfy, warm, friendly, modern and really well located. Everything has been incredibly nice. Bedrooms and all the areas in general are so cared and practical, and have all what you could need. Nothing is missing. Even the lockers are so modern, that you don’t even need a locker cause you just got to use your room card to unlock them. Amazing 🤩 I highly recommend this hostel. I’ll definitely come back if I’m back to London!! I wish is sooner than later ❤️ I leave two photos from the super stunning views from my bedroom. Such a dream 🫠

Super friendly & helpful staff around the clock! The facilities are very modern & we’re always clean during my stay. I was in a 6 bed dorm, but it still felt quite private with block out curtains for the beds, plus a secure locker and safe.

Stayed for one night on the top floor in a large private room, it was more like a penthouse, 3 beds (sleeps 4) and a large terrace with great views over the city. Bathroom was newly refurbished and spotless. Staff were excellent, and the bar downstairs was really cool. Location is perfect, close to the Thames, tower bridge and lots of restaurants and bars. Will definitely stay again.

I’ve been a guest in the hostel as a backpacker traveller on a lone trip and here I had almost everything I needed, the room is nice but not fully equipped (a hairdryer and some more soap and shampoo would have helped). There is a nice socializing area/bar downstairs, even though a bit more grouping activities would have been great. Nice experience overall

Wombat Hostel in London is an amazing, super clean and enjoyable hostel. I've been there for 3 weeks and I had a great time with people from all around the world. There is a fully equipped kitchen and you can have a delicious breakfast every morning. The room was perfect and the staff is really helpful. The basement is so cool (bar/pool table/drinking game are possible/chill out area...).

A lovely place to stay, especially as a solo traveler. The staff is very sweet, the 24h reception is a massive bonus, and it seems secure. The lockers are one of the most secure I’ve ever had the opportunity to see. Definitely love that! However, it’s missing a quick star for the lack of ambiance there is. The staff plays no part in this, as they have done their absolute best to motivate people and organise fun activities. Kudos to them! But the bar is very lackluster, it’s hard to meet people even if you’re a sociable solo traveler. The place is occupied by a lot of older people and whole families, which is a bit of a shame if you’re in your twenties searching for a group of friends to go out with. That’s the only thing though, other than that, so fun!

Facility was pleasant, staff were accommodating but the room was a bit untidy. There was no soap in the dispenser of the shower sink, no toilet rolls. The card access for the room keeps deactivating that you have to go back to the reception to get it fixed. At night there was a lot of noise as our room was adjacent to the entrance of the hostel and it was the weekend. It was not controlled well as it should as people were hanging out on the door entrance of the building in the middle of the night. Breakfast - was not expecting it to be as good and I was right. Coffee was really awful, I should have just bought Mcdonalds. Overall, it was just an adequate experience.

CLEAN & SAFE & STYLISH I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wombat's City Hostel in London, and I was very impressed. As a 36-year-old woman, this was my first hostel experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed it very much !! Mostly because I felt secure and in clean environment . The location was ideal - it was close to Tower Bridge, as well as plenty of public transportation options and restaurants. The room I stayed in was a women-only private room for 4 with its own bathroom and toilet. It was incredibly clean and well-maintained even the one shared. The shared areas of the hostel were also comfortable and stylish, and never felt crowded even when busy. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay at Wombat's City Hostel, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in London. And also this hostel provides lockers system after your check-out, it was really convenient The fist photo was the vue from my room ! Quite nice !

Surprisingly the best ever hostel experience I have ever had! I stayed in 4 bedroom female only dorm and got maximum privacy I could ask for in a hostel! My highlight is making friends with random strangers over an intensive (and random) chess game in the lounge. Self-catering service also satisfied my craving of cooking my own meal. Made good friends across countries and continents. Definitely going back on whatever occasion. Reception staff are not the friendliest but everything else about the hostel can surpass this (I think).

I stayed at this hostel for 5 nights and it was perfect. It was an excellent location and the staff were really friendly. The reception is open 24 hours which I really liked. The room and bathroom was quite modern and clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s a little small for 6 beds but the rest of the hostel makes up for that as there is a cafe and bar and many dining areas and places to just relax. The room has a locker and the beds have a little shelf. Everything was perfect. From my room you could hear the train sometimes but it didn’t keep me awake at night. The neighbourhood is quiet otherwise. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The best Hostel in London that I've stayed at. Great cafe, bar and facilities. Beds are comfy. Staff are super helpful. Check-in can be quite busy but apart from that, this is an excellent place to stay on a budget. I've been numerous times and I'll be back.

Rude reception - told we needed photo ID and made to feel stupid but NOTHING in booking confirmation to suggest this. Receptionist was unhelpful The room was hot and beds uncomfy. Location poor a long way from a tube or even a bus route. Wouldn't recommend.

My most unpleasant experience ever. we arrived at around 11:30 pm, the lobby was crowded with teenagers. Upon checking in, we found the room to be subpar, with the beds in disarray. If you're seeking a peaceful and comfortable place to sleep, it's not the ideal choice.

A very nice place to stay, staff on the desk very friendly, superb atmosphere. Had a twin room with my friend, it was basics bed, on suite, a wet room, but that's all we needed. Everywhere was very clean. Communal kitchen downstairs and a bar. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

It's a great hostel, one of the best options you could take. The prices are very accessible, the location is very good, a lot of bus stops or tube stations close. The service is great and the restrooms are very clean. The only complaint would be the breakfast, it is very good but pricey for the options they had

One of the best hostels I have stayed in the UK. The staff members at the reception are welcoming and friendly. The room has got bunker beds and each bed has curtains for the privacy. You get your own fan and a small locker for your valuables I.e. Mobile, watch, wallets within your bunker. You also get a bigger locker for your bags or suitcase which can be locked by the keycard you receive at the reception. They have got beautiful arrangements in the basement, you can play games, relax, read, have a drink and enjoy the ambiance. Loved the place. Will definitely go again.

I stayed here for the two nights I was in London in a 4 bed room and I was extremely comfortable when doing so. The beds were comfortable, and I really liked that each bed had curtains, USB ports, a safe and even a little fan. The location was super clean. There is even an elevator to get to your floor(s) if you cannot take the stairs. The lockers in the room are big enough to store my carry on bag and book bag and it was nice you didn’t have to worry about having a lock as the locker doors locked with the room key card. The location was easy to get to and around a lot of pubs/restaurants! It was also not too far from the London sights. I enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay here again should I visit London again!

I stayed here for three nights in the month of February. Rooms were clean but the bathroom had a very foul odour. I asked the receptionist to the cleaning lady up so that it maybe clean but even after cleaning the toilet was just renk. I would not recommend breakfast there. Eggs weren't even an option for breakfast. Otherwise, the stay was good.

Clean, modern facilities. Everything worked well and was in good shape. Front desk was very helpful and nice. The walk to anywhere else, including the nearest tube station, goes through a less-than-scenic area but it's only for a block or two.

Loved the place I stayed there twice within a month! Made life long friends staying there :) Great location, great staff. Amazing atmosphere in the wombar. And I don’t think I’ve ever had such a good time. Never once felt unsafe staying there

Couldn't recommend this place enough. This was my first time staying in a hostel and this was truly a great experience. The room was clean, I felt safe, and the location was pretty convenient. I even ended up leaving an item on accident and Holly was huge help in getting my item shipped back to me.

I'm staying here at the moment. It's day 2. Kitchen is utterly disgusting. Fridge stinks bad. Someone ate my takeaway that I put in the fridge. Cost me £25. Plastic bags in the fridges that have been turned upside down with food leaking out. Etc. The fridges are seriously disgusting. Really disgusting. From the outside they look OK. But open it up and the stench hits you. Start rummaging looking for your food and your hands get covered in all kinds of foul smelling things. There's one kitchen with 3 fairly small fridges for 700 people. 700. 1 kitchen. Don't even think about using the kitchen. Floor is disgusting, surfaces are disgusting. It's not the hostels fault. It's some of the vile people that go to hostels. But it is an issue AT THIS HOSTEL, hence my 2 star rating. Didn't have this issue in other European hostels. Room is just OK. Toilets in the rooms don't have sinks inside. There's a sink just outside the toilet room, but there's no soap. There's another sink in the shower room which has the 1 and only soap dispenser. This is stupid. First, you have to touch both door handles and if it's night, the light switch for the shower room, after you're done wiping your bum. Second, if someone's having a shower. You're stuffed. Wombats. Please install a soap dispenser for the outside sink too!! The sink should really be in the toilets!! Location is terrible. Noisy, next to a railway bridge, noisy streets and construction work. Bus and underground are some distance. Location isn't very safe and it's ugly. Most guests aren't nice and want to keep themselves to themselves. I've stayed in hostels in London pre covid, and it was similar to this hostel, in that most people keep themselves to themselves. Whereas elsewhere in Europe I've had mostly great experiences in hostels. Also way too many old people (personally I would like it if there were none). I'm talking 50+. Don't underestimate how disgusting the kitchen is. Staff are friendly and helpful.

this hostel was way better than i expected! we got a private room and it was huge, bed was comfy and bathroom was new. every problem we needed help with was fixed fast and we felt safe and happy. please take into consideration that the closest tube is 8-10 minute walk(wasn’t a problem for us)

This was my first time staying at a hostel (female, 24) and I stayed in a mix dorm with 6 people sharing one bath for 5 nights. I was traveling alone and was a little nervous about the sleeping, but everything was completely fine, even though all but one night the room was otherwise full of guys. Everyone at the hostel, staff and others, were super friendly. I had breakfast one day but found it a bit underwhelming for the price, so went elsewhere the other days. The bunks are wood so a bit noisy but otherwise more comfortable than I expected. The bedroom situation is a little strange since there’s nothing to dry your hands on after washing them nor an anti-slip mat outside of the shower. You can also rent a towel for 2 Pounds. You get your own light and USB plug near your bed which was helpful. Every has a locker which locks with your room key, which was great. In terms of location, it’s a short walk to Tower Hill station and lots of bus stops nearby too.

  • 4/5 Emily E. 4 months ago on Google
I stayed in a mixed dorm and the room was very clean - even the shower, which had good pressure and hot water. The locker system uses your keycard so you don't need a lock. Towels cost extra, but I brought my own. Convenient location close to the DLR. Try the Lebanese restaurant up the road, it was incredible

  • 5/5 Natalia K. 7 months ago on Google
It was a nice stay. I stayed for 4 nights and the room for 5 people. We had own bathroom and shower in our room with brand new plumbing and good pressure of water. It was noisy and hot at night, because of hot weather these days and our windows were open. But I was so tired and it didn’t disturb me too much). I would definitely recommend this hostel. Price and conditions of staying are nice!

There’s absolutely nothing I would have preferred differently! They have wonderful and friendly staff! The hostel itself is created very open so you could get in touch with others really quick. It’s very clean as well and the bar and the Café don’t leave any wishes unfulfilled. As soon as I’ll get back to London I’ll definitely stay there again!!!

  • 5/5 Anna S. 7 months ago on Google
A great place to stay!! The staff are super helpful, checking in is easy, the rooms have everything you need, the location is good (near Tower of London, bars, food shops and tube stations), and they have fun events on throughout the week. There’s also a great cafe and bar onsite. The kitchen can be a bit chaotic sometimes and the fridge has limited room but it wasn’t too big of a deal, my roommates were lovely, and I’d happily stay again; well worth the money.

  • 2/5 S. E. T. 2 years ago on Google
There was a queue to check in. The staff were friendly but relaxed in their roles. The room was passable - a separate shower and toilet room is not ideal. The worst was the toilet. It was clearly not cleaned. See photos. It was unpleasant!

Friendly and welcoming front of house staff, easy check-in and check-out. Private room was neat and tidy with a modern bathroom, and reasonably priced (on a Wednesday). I would have stayed a second night but the price increased considerably. Good location.

nice hostel but uncleaned beds!!. arrived to a dirty bed in the room, needed about one hour to check in because of the dirty bed and disgusting stinking room (they kondly changed us to another one). second room was okay but quite hot and very wobbly bunk beds.

Amazing stay here! The room was clean and a great size, and the staff are second to none!! (Special shout out to Wayne! - he couldn’t have done enough for us and had good banter too) next time I’m in London I will 1000% be staying again! Shame the bar wasn’t open but it’s the times we live in!

First night at an 8 bed "Garden" room as they call it was dreadful. The room is underground with a lot of noise from the outside and light. Second night I went for a 4 bed and asked to be on a higher floor and my experience was much much better. I would normally put 3 stars because of how bad the first night was, but the staff was friendly, helpful and the facilities where good.

You need to be hurry to check out otherwise they will charge 5 pounds if you don't check out at 10 am. Also, the kitchen is not very clean and disgusting smell in the kitchen. The Location is poor a long way walk from a tube or even a bus route. Wouldn't recommend

Enjoyed my stay at wombats! The female dorm was really nice and I loved the lockers. Hostel is between to tube stations is very useful for getting back at night. Laundry is very affordable compared to other hostels I have stayed at, 6 pounds for washing and drying. Only complain was the room was very dusty and every morning I was waking up with a very blocked nose.

Loved our stay! We booked an 8 bed private dorm for 8 of us. The shower was great and free towels at reception. Really clean, comfortable and warm. The best part was the bar in the basement where we enjoyed a night of drinks and games. All the staff really friendly, would recommend!

Truly an amazing hostel. The rooms are spacious and clean with modern ensuit bathrooms. Huge kitchen with lots of space for everyone to prep and store their food. The staff at reception as well as at the bar were super friendly and helpful with everything. But the highlight for me was definitely the bar/ chill out area. Super cozy space with activities like pool, ping pong, Netflix and Nintendo available throughout the day and evening. I’m definitely staying here again when I’m back in London.

One of the best hostels I've been to. Definitely the best when it comes to dormitory and working remotely - 1. You have your own big locker to keep your laptop and all, and it's behind 4 locks - the locker, the room, the floor, the entrance. To me that was a big deal. 2. Ample space to work in 3. The kitchen is very well equipped, and surprisingly not too busy 4. Everything is very clean all the time 5. Great staff, great guests 6. Low price

Spent here 6 nights and we loved it. The room was just like advertised, clean and spacious, with new bathroom. Staff was super friendly and the whole hostel feels super organized. Pay a visit to the hotel bar its nice and many povely people are spending time there as well.

Honestly, this is a fantastic hostel. Has everything you would look for in a place to stay. Lively environment, clean rooms, great bar, tasty coffee and breakfast and a huge workspace during the day with good wifi (turns into the bar at night). Excellent part of town and more than anything else, the workers are super friendly and helpful. Would come back!

Stayed here for 6 nights, could not have asked for a better experience. Staff were very helpful with any request or questions. 6-person room was clean, loved the lockers, and the bathroom room was spotless. Location is fantastic, with 2 tube stations nearby. Best part of the hostel is the common area/bar underneath the hostel. Great size and service at the bar. Easy to meet people and share drinks before hitting the town.

Such a nice hostel! The staff is very helpful, and you can leave your luggage if you arrive before check in time. Very nice and modern showers/bathrooms per room. Their 4.9 £ breakfast is really good and a great value considering London prices - great hummus and good coffee :)

Stayed here back in 2019 and absolutely loved it. Keep forgetting to post a review. The staff were super lovely. The cleanest bathroom I've ever had in a hostel. Met so many lovely people and enjoyed the underground bar so much. I would absolutely stay here again and will always recommend it!

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel even though it was for one night. The staff were extremely helpful and I felt safe as you need a card to access any place beyond the lobby. For those who like to party/socialize, this hostel is great as well as the basement area is basically made for it. There's a bar, plenty of space to sit or lay down and a small outdoor area. In addition, there's a kitchen and a laundry room (you don't need to pay for detergent, just for use of the machines). My room was nice as well as the toilet and shower areas (as they're in separate rooms) were clean, I got towels, a closet and a table to rest my stuff on. I guess the only drawback of this place is its location. There aren't many grocery stores nearby (other than the Sainsbury's express) and if you want to get to a Tube station, you'll have to walk for 10 minutes. However, there are bus stops nearby. At this point, I'm nitpicking but overall, this was a good stay.

One of the best hostels I've been to. There is a very nice lounge area with a kitchen and a lot of tables so you get to meet so many people during breakfast and the evenings. The rooms were also very clean. The staff at the reception were very friendly and enthusiastic and the maintenance of the facilities is very good too. You get towels for free (turns out it is so in every hostel in this city) and you don't need to pay to store your luggage in the luggage room (same, it isn't so in every hostel). The staff allowed me to keep my laptop at the reception's drawers, which is actually safer than keeping it in the room. They also offer the guests to rent a bicycle for one day, including a helmet and a lock for one day for 15 pounds. I used to take the santander bicycles (which are very nearby) but this is a rather good deal. They also allow you to print some papers or documents that you need before your flight (for free). Definitely a place to come back to. Looks like the owners and managers really want the guests to have good time in their stay! The only cons I can think of are (1) the location - the hostel is not at the city center so you need to take the underground to the tourists area (Covent Garden, Westminister) and (2) the fact that you need to walk about 5 minutes to the nearest supermarket to grab some food. But both are not too bad at all.

One of the most clean and modern hostels we've stayed in. We shared a 6 bed mixed dorm room and the bathroom was spotless. Great central location too. Helpful, friendly staff. Would stay again

Situated in a very convenient location in Central London. I went to Vombat during my office visit. Front office service was very quick and the staff was very friendly. Provided detailed information about the facility. The rooms were very nice. I've met lots of nice people there. All the beds are provided with very clean linen and a separate locker. Washrooms were also clean and tidy but it depends on whom you are in your dorm. They have a nice cozy bar on the ground floor and a separate laundry and a kitchen as well. Worth the price and very cheap compared to the other same kind of facilities in London.

I enjoyed this hostel very much! The staff was friendly and helpful and the bar was very good too. Location is great. Many buses around and the tube is very close to the hostel too. I was here the weekend of St. Patrick’s day and they had live music that Friday with an amazing singer and guitar player. Overall, great vibes to meet people from all over the world. The beds are comfy, the rooms are big and the locker works with your room key. Also they give towels and if you need an adapter, they’ll rent it to you for 5pounds. Definitely recommend for solo or group traveling

I had a phenomenal time at Wombats London. This was the first hostel that I stayed at two years ago, but it was during Covid and not as crowded. This was the first time I saw it under normal operations, and I stayed in an eight-person mixed dorm where I met two great friends. We had so many fun adventures, and I did not want to leave. The bar was phenomenal, and the kitchen was great. The rooms, lockers, and bathroom facilities were also excellent. The staff were very helpful and attentive. I highly recommend staying at this hostel; you will not be disappointed.

Hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at in any city/country. Worth every penny. Right in the heart of the hip East London Docklands. Short walk south down Dock Street from Aldgate East Tube Station. I was here in Nov 2019- The comfort level is honestly on par with any hotel. The rooms are renovated and spotless, with very generous-sized lockers which can be locked & unlocked electronically with your keycard. The lovely walk-in showers are modern and minimalist with rain-style showerheads. Altogether the amenities are wonderful for a hostel. The underground pub/relaxation/kitchen/late night chill space is the highlight of the place though, and is top-notch. The breakfast served every morning in this underground space was delicious, fresh, all-you-can-eat and excellent for the money and the price of it- Less than £5- was way cheaper than buying breakfast at any restaurant nearby would have been. What a bargain! The nightly happy hour down at the bar is a wonderful way to knock back some drinks, chill out and meet cool people from all over the world. There's even an outdoor area adjoining this space as well Wombats have a great product on their hands and I can't wait to try their other city locations elsewhere in Europe. Cannot recommend this place enough, particularly if you're in your 20s like myself. Even if you're not typically a "hostel person"... You will not be sorry. *Disclaimer- My stay here was in late 2019, pre-COVID... I'm not sure how accurate all the info I gave is anymore, may be best to contact Wombats directly or have a look at their website for most accurate info*

You know the cleaning crew does a high quality job when you see a toilet roll with a triangle fold to welcome new arrivals! A very nice and clean hostel with a good mix of visitors of all age groups. Good hanging out zones and TVs with Netflix in the lounge

As a female solo traveler I've never felt so at home, safe, and comfortable. It was my first time and I'll be back! Help desk was always available! People were so warm, welcoming, and willing to accommodate when possible. Luggage storage is available in a separate room and it was reasonably priced too. Different sized lockers with a pin code to get it made it really nice to access. The rooms have other people staying there as well, but I never felt worried about my belongings. They provide a locker a bit bigger than a carry-on bag that locks and unlocks with my specific room key. Bar was SO COOL. met some really amazing people down there and the music was a vibe. The people I met on this trip made the biggest difference than any other hotel I could've stayed at. This environment is SOCIAL. You WILL talk to people from all over the world. The kitchen is an interesting concept as anyone could grab your stuff from the fridge, buy they probably won't? I only used it one day to make pasta and even that was a fun experience as people were cooking around me and it felt very fun. The location is amazing. You're in the city within walking distance of lots of pubs, food, grocery stores, and the underground is just a few blocks away. Everything is accessible from the underground, so I didn't mind the location, I loved it!

I stayed in this hostel a few times when I was younger. Great memories! :) Lovely staff, cool vibe, very good location (within a walking distance to many cool spots in this part of the city:) and incredibly good value for money. I met great people from many countries and of different ages. I have better memories of staying in Wombat’s than from staying in some 4 star hotels. The staff here was genuinely nice, other guests were fun - and these good experiences never burned a hole in my pocket. :)

The best hostel Chain! I have been in Wombats Vienna, Munich and now London. I have stayed with my family in a dorm room with 6 beds. Room was clean, large including big bathroom with separate toilet. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great location 10 min walk to London Tower and Tower Bridge. Also underground and Bus stops including the Hop-on-Hop Off bus stop number 16. This is also where you can take the Thames river cruise. What I loved that the hostel has a social room, with a bar where we spent our evenings enjoying karaoke and meeting other travelers. We used the laundry facility which was great as we got completely wet on one of out walking tours.

The first time I stay in a hostel and I would say great experience! The location is perfect for getting around the city, the London Bridge is within easy walking distance, and there are buses/metro/trams throughout the area. The rooms are well cleaned and cleaning is also done daily. It is a beautiful stimulating environment and you will meet people from all over the world! So don't worry if you're alone! The boys and girls at the reception are very good and they help you in everything if you need, they are open 24h. There is a very large kitchen that contains everything you need, so if you do your grocery, you can well cook your meals! They also organise evenings, but they are not noisy and if you go to sleep you won't even notice! The structure is still new and there is a lot of security, the people can enter only with badges and for each there is a locker for your stuff & each one has its own safe deposit box with the code and that you can set up, so your personal belongings such as passport and credit card can be locked inside. I definitely recommend this hostel 100% and I will gladly return when I come back to London!!
