The public toilets smelt rotten could do with a deep clean. Also so many empty units it's a shame. The shops that are there are lovely, and some of the smaller shops are brilliant. If it wasn't for The Range I highly doubt I would visit the shopping center in all honesty. The outside bars and restaurants make dockside but as it claims to be an outlet shopping center they need more outlet stores and less empty units. Prime spot so close to the universities.

The ladies toilets were absolutely disgusting. The smell was appalling and this wasn’t due to someone having used them. Quite frankly you wanted to heave. In fact some ladies who followed us in turned round and went straight back out again. Not only are they in desperate need of a deep clean but also repair. Toilet seats broken, doors broken and the hand wash machines were either broken or empty. Out of the whole lot we only found one that had some hand wash in it. This wasn’t just a one off, this has been the case for a long time. The poor cleaners can only do so much, they can’t repair or maintain them. In a time when cleanliness is all the more important quite honestly whoever is in charge really needs to take this in hand and maintain and clean them properly. They look very shabby but you could overlook that if things were maintained and they were clean. I would recommend that anyone visiting the centre visit the bathroom before going to the centre and not go anywhere near the dockside toilets.

Visited a few stores here and let me tell you. You got the best dental service and care at SMIL, delicious treat at Pad Thai and good quality household products at Homeplus furniture.

A white elephant from the start. Many stores have come and gone. For an outlet centre there are few bargains. The centre lacks atmosphere too! Outside the centre there are good restaurants and an Odeon multiplex cinema. Parking is free

Rather soleless, but I have had some bargains in choice, Marks and Spencer, Cotton Trader Would be helpful for a shoe repairs and cleaners, reasonably priced hairdressers in the outlet Also a small supermarket. The litter outside, also outside entrance to range. All rather dull and scruffy. Toilets are not very well maintained, rather smelly, no soap, toilet paper always in slim Supply.

A fairly quiet place to shop, not an awful lot of shops but the Range is a good place to visit and sells most things. Big shame they have introduced parking charges, although you do get 1.5 hours free, but you feel uneasy not knowing if you need to pay or not if close to the end of the free period.

A huge variety of shops. We went into Range looking for an ironing board, iron and clothes drier. Good selection, plenty of scope in prices. Parking, directly outside the centre.

My friend drove up from Herne Bay to visit me today. I suggested that we go to Dockside as she had never been. I was so embarrassed when I took her to the toilets. They were disgusting. The cleaning staff need more training! The toilet doors didn't lock, there was toilet paper everywhere and worst of all lots of flies too!!! Dockside is a nice place to visit but the toilets are awful!???

Plenty of shops to choose from and very clean and tidy and plenty of places to eat. We ate upstairs in Pad Thai Live which I have reviewed separately. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Your ladies toilets are the worst I've ever seen or used. The doors to cubicals do not lock, toilet seats aren't attached properly, no toilet paper in the one's that do lock and hand dryers out of order. The smell was awful 😫

This is a place that to me has never achieved its full potential, there are some good shops here but there are (and feels like always has been) a great many empty units, Covid I suspect has played a part in this like it has with many a high street, consequently you go there buy what you want and leave. Given its location and its proximity to the cinema, restaurants (a lot of which have also disappeared) and the walks around the old docks could be so much more. I do hope they can breathe some new life into it......

First visit for years. Some shops gone, some new ones and a few oldies. Great place for shopping, if they have what you want. Not all shops were open, could be victims of the pandemic. Really busy but plenty of parking.

Not sure how the shopping part of this place stays open. It was always dead before the parking charges. Simply have no reason to visit now they are charging. Plenty of better places that are free to park.

Dockside has a lot of untapped potential, but somehow always comes across as a bit lame. It has never been full of shops; I suspect that it's only The Range that keeps it going. Surprisingly, it is the only shopping centre I've ever been in that doesn't have any mobile phone shops! Got to be a record! If you're planning to go there, unless you're a seasoned, determined shopper, I wouldn't really bother budgeting more than an hour or maybe 90 minutes of your time there. There's just not enough there to justify staying longer.....

This is a popular place to visit. There is a large car park which is free and has at least 50 disabled parking places. You can park for up to 4 hours. There are a variety of retail shops such as, M & S Outlets, Clarks, Peacocks, Choice, Roman, Trespass, Moda, The Range and others. Plenty of cafes and restaurants such as Costa, Starbucks, Nandos, Subway, Pizzahut and Burger King. There is a cafe called Boomers and is located on the ground floor. This is a very popular cafe and is usually busy. The staff are polite and the service is good! There are public toilets, including disabled. These are upstairs between Poundstretchers and Burger King. There is a lift as well as escalators, these are situated at the main entrance. If you like watching films you are in luck. There is an IMAX cinema with 9 screens. The entrance is located next door to Costa's. For the children there is a trampoline centre. It is called Flip Out Trampoline Park and is located at the end of Pier 5. You can get a No. 1 or 2 bus to Dockside from the Chatham Waterfront Bus Station which is situated across the road from the Pentagon Shopping Centre. While at Dockside you can visit the Marina or even the Historic Dockyard which is close by. There is also a distillery called The Copper Rivit. It is a rather new addition, I believe it has only been open for about 3 years and offers a good product, well worth a visit I have been told. By the way Sunday opening times are betwee 11 and 5! So don't get there too early, especially on a rainy day!

I found my recent experience to the Dockside in Chatham was not with a good viewpoint, the entrance was littered with cigarettes butts and not be cleaned or maintained. There is no excuse it is appalling. As for the toilets; what does it take to give them a good scrub and steam clean with bleach and elbow grease and there was no soap or toilet paper available. Come on local council hire a good cleaner on a daily basis to maintain a respectable place for shopping. Ms Squire

I would avoid this place as i only go cause of the range ... and don't go there much now cause of the parking charges .... I think if people go down to shop an hour and half free charging is not long enough if you want food aswell so avoid and go where parking is free or where there is alot more options

Not a great deal there really, the upstairs is mostly empty. It was opened as an outlet centre but not everything there is particularly cheap. There are some places to eat but to be honest there are better choices outside. We visited to go to a particular store which is a make up and beauty outlet which is actually very good. There is plenty of parking but please be warned that it is monitored and if you park and leave for anywhere else in the area you will be issued with a penalty ticket within minutes.

Big shopping mall just a stone throw from the universities in Kent. It is strategically located by England coastal area, making it a great vicinity for both shopping & leisure. Popular brands in food & fashion are well represented and it's a market for every category of people - rich vs not-so-rich, fashion-shy vs fashion aristocrats etc

Nice place to visit, no issues with parking however choice of shops when clothes shopping is an issue, It's hard nowadays for businesses, specially with so much happening online, just think they need to get different types of businesses into the dockside outlet centre, bearing in mind it isn't a big place so that would be another issue.

  • 3/5 Robert H. 1 year ago on Google
The general cleanliness of this place can be a bit off putting. For a shopping center that isn't particularly old it is looking a bit run down. Ample parking and some good restaurants around but as a center this isn't the greatest, that's not to say it isn't good though, it just keeps a bit of up keep.

  • 4/5 Sharon B. 1 year ago on Google
Plenty of parking available. The Range, Clarks,Mark's and Spencer's ,The Gift shop just a few names of businesses on site. Worth a visit if you haven't been before.

Like this place, spacious parking and lots of nice shop around.

  • 3/5 Glen 4 months ago on Google
Overall the shopping centre is limited with stores, however plenty of restaurants and an Odeon cinema. Recent car parking charges mean you get 90mins free then are charged. All ANPR based and pay on leave. Improvements to stores and empty units would make this more worthwhile.

It is any wonder the stores that this outlet make any money. On a mid afternoon visit on a Friday the place was deserted. A number of fast food outlets and a few big shop names are here, but whilst it is nice being by the river Medway it is not enough to make me visit again (though the visit was on the off chance).

  • 3/5 Elena S. 1 year ago on Google
It's... ok? Nice and clean but semi-abandoned by the big names. There are some good food places upstairs/nearby and the Cadbury shop is good but be prepared to encounter a cut-price beauty wholesaler and a shop selling really expensive saucepans by brands no one had heard of.

Popped into Marks and Spencer outlet. Prices here are slightly lesser than the main stores. Shops within the centre are a bit of a mismatch with hardly anything on the top floor. Choices has been there for a while and sell NEXT CLEARANCE stuff. There is 'the fragrance shop' here but I am not sure if this is an outlet store as I did not go in

Pretty good range of shops. The centre itself and the majority of shops are accessible (wheelchair friendly). The only thing that lets it down is the state of the toilets and the heavy doors to get to them, very difficult trying to hold them open and wheel through. I did notice an elderly couple struggling with them also.

This is a quiet shopping centre. But it has very good options for shopping. Has spacious parking lot. I love this place. It makes me sad when any shop is closing due to shortage of customer.

Would be a 5 star if you hadn't started to charge for parking, I won't be coming again till you stop charging and I do have a blue badge 😜

Always enjoy a wander around, but unfortunately, the greed of other's have put me off. Why penalise the majority over a few by introducing parking fees 😑. Feel sorry for the businesses in there that will suffer.

  • 4/5 Hayley S. 6 months ago on Google
Not great for where to park directions but eventually we found it OK. Was spread over a large area but we came in from the back so it looked like it wasn't finished! Could do with that being sorted but it was nice being by the docks.

A nice shopping centre about to be ruined but ridiculous car parking charges that will reduce footfall etc . They argue that cars are left overnight. This is a lie as they have cameras so can easily fine the culprits if they exist. Wagamama and Zizzi who are planning to open are aware of this and the impact on their business models.

  • 5/5 Steve N. 6 months ago on Google
Went here the last time today. Parking charges are being introduced at the end of the month. None of the traders I spoke to Are too happy about it. I guess Medway Council will be happy to loose the tax revenue from all the businesses that will leave or go bankrupt.

Not a lot, you can say about this place. Unfortunately, some bright spark in the parking. Has decided to start charging first hour free. Then 1 pound 25 after tcan. See it going down like a live balloon.

There's not a huge amount of stores, in my opinion, although you have a Marks & Spencers Outlet store (clothing) discount prices, next door to them is a Clarks shoe store, a variety of other stores inside the mall with a big store at the back... selling all manner of things. Plenty of food & drink outlets plus toilets on next level / there is a lift and escalators to this floor. Parking is FREE for 4 hours.

  • 3/5 Hedwig W. 1 year ago on Google
Underwhelming shopping centre. Not many useful stores. Need more clothing stores. A John Lewis would be nice. But I was happy to find a bubble tea stall which I did not know was there.

Visited the centre with the intention of visiting the range. Loads of lovely interior and garden stuff at really cheap prices. Also loved the gift shop which is also in the centre. Tbh not loads of shops but a great m&s outlet. Also plenty of places to eat including Taco Bell, creams, nandos, KFC plus others and a couple of street food vans.

  • 4/5 LUCKY A. 8 months ago on Google
Quite a few of the shops within the centre have closed down. There's an Iceland inside the Range store on the ground floor with the pet and garden section. Also lifts available for disabled to the 1st floor where there is a wonderful cafe. Home furnishings, lighting, arts and crafts section. Towards the back is the Furniture and homewares with camping section. My only concern is lack of any staff on the 1st floor if you want assistance. If you are disabled I'd highly recommend taking someone along with you especially if you're needing help carrying or lifting items. Please note that hardly any baskets and lack of trolleys available.

Five stars just for old architecture. Isn't everything bad or negative, just this building and some shops inside really from last century. What's on some kind nice, because it looks like some older people's coming not for shoping, but just to take a cake and cup of tea in cafe. I believe that they can tell a lots of storys about this place from first days.

  • 4/5 Frank W. 11 months ago on Google
Nice facilities and a good selection of shops, stores, stalls, and cafes. It's mostly an outlet store shopping centre. There are outdoor stores like Regatta, Mountain Warehouse as well as clothing stores like Peacock, health stores like Holland And Barrett, homeware stores, and other stores. Theres a good cafe Panini Brothers and Thai food place that serve really tasty dishes. Unlike high streets there are few empty stores. There are toilet facilities, a little shabby and somewhat unclean but manageable. There's good, plentiful free parking also. It's a good shipping centre for general clothes, shoe shopping. Outside there are multiple restaurants, cafes, bars, cinema and other fun things.

No decent shops. Do not be fooled. All shops shut down. Not a great experience. Only The Range keeping Dockside going.

This is a great outlet shopping centre, with a good number of outlet shops like M&S, Holland and Barret. There is a big The Range store here as well. A good number of restaurants and fast food places to eat as well. Parking is good but there is always contention for spaces nearer to the buildings. There is a Odeon Cinema.
