I visited the shopping center yesterday and was really disappointed with what I saw. It used to be a great place to go shopping and grab a bite to eat, but now it seems like it's just a shadow of its former self. There are so many stores and restaurants that have closed down, and the only things that seem to be attracting any foot traffic are the Queen's tour boat, the skate park, and the cinema🎥.

Been to Edinburgh a good few times but never really looked about the beautiful city. Had a brilliant day went to see the writer's museum what a wee gem. Also 10 min drive from Edinburgh and you come across the beautiful dean village head down to the water and walk along.

Once a great shopping experience no thanks mostly to Tram works in leith making it a long experience getting in and out bur car bus whatever. Many of the shops now closed went there today not going back soon even escalators not working . Still free parking good maybe once trams finished will venture back

Haven't been to the Ocean Terminal for many many years (10+ !). I was riding on the Edinburgh Trams with my family for a day trip and stopped at OT. Sad to see almost half of the shops were closed down. Having said that, the weather was nice and we got a chance to take some stunning photos of the RFA Fort Victoria near OT!

Great place in the heart of Edinburgh. This mall is located just beside the Ocean, hence called Ocean Terminal. I went there with my family. My kid enjoyed her time here. Great place with excellent view of the North Sea. With attractions such as The Royal Yacht Britannia, the Vue, HnM, Pizza express etc. Great place to spend your day out...

Very poor. Lots of boarded up shops. A faded memory of what was once probably a decent shopping destination. On a par with Keel Row in Blyth or Washington Galleries. Hope the tram extension brings a little bit of prosperity to the place otherwise it seems like a waste.

This shopping mall has astonishing views overseeing the sea. It also has nice shops, a gym and a great variety of restaurants and cafes. Also there are charity shops. And of course the Royal yacht Britannia deserve a visit! The area is much nicer now with the new flats outside the shopping mall and the tramway. Definitely recommended to stop here!

A lot of the bigger stores are no longer here. Britania is the main attraction, I think. I took my granddaughter on the tram for a visit. It's been over 20 years since I worked nearby and there has been many changes. We shared a pizza at Pizza Express and then got the tram back to Princes Street. OK for a visit or to go on the boat.

It is a shame to see the pandemic hurt the business here with many empty stalls all around. Otherwise, a great shopping centre with a beautiful atrium cafe. It is also the entry point to visit the Royal Britannia. They still have food halls and the basic shops around. I'm giving 4 stars because although I actually like it bit quieter, less people and shops, I know some people might find it relatively empty.

It's quite a big place and not to overcrowded. You have the famous Britannia ship to visit and can board from the shopping centre along with lots of different shops to see and restaurant's to eat in.

A fantastic experience, great few hours exploring the Royal Ship and her history.

Real shame the number of empty shops here. What was there was good and the eating areas had fabulous views given it was good weather. The main attraction is The Britannia of course, but not my thing so didn't visit that though the whisky distillery next door may tempt me back 😉

Went there for the Royal Britannia yacht exhibition, which was well worth it. Had tea in the onboard tea rooms.

There were quite a few empty shops but overall it’s quite lovely, the top floor offers amazing views of the water and boats, and the shops that were open looked lively and modern

A lot of space isn't used, it feels like 50% of stores are closed and there are not enough places or comfort for kids. The advantage is that the mall is relatively quiet and big, so you can just use it for rainy days to walk through.

Impressive building, but to get proper instructions on how to see the yacht was hard to come by, we ended up in the car park 😂

Looking a bit less shiny than the new St James at the top of Leith Walk it feels a bit worn down with a lot of empty units , The Brittania and the cinema are whats keeping it going, shame as it has nice views over the port and being at the end of the new tram line its easy to get to

Practically a dead shopping centre. Was once great but it feels all the good stuff about it is gone now. Only reasons to visit are really the cinema royal yacht Britannia and the most recognisable shops h&m and Starbucks. Would not come here otherwise

At the Vue cinema. Great price at £6.99 to watch Wonka. Reclining chairs which are very comfortable. Great cinema.

Pretty limited shopping experience. Lots of empty shops. Plenty of restaurants, most of which are chains. A lot of construction going on in the area and new tram lines going in. Empty shops will probably fill up when the trams start arriving.

Visited HMS Britania for the first time and, Wow! Can see why the Queen had a tear in her eye when it was decommissioned. It is not as grand as you might think it would be, but it is definitely grand enough for a Royal family. You can imagine them being totally free here, and able to enjoy life without any prying eyes. The tea room is well worth a visit, very historic, decadent in places, well kept and a joy to be able to visit.

Ocean Terminal is a pleasant shopping mall, largely thanks to the open views. It is *shocking* to see that F&B's and Nando's are allowed to hijack the space on this high walkway. We didn't used to be denied the great view from there. 😤

Great shopping space with a variety of restaurants. Also provides entrance to the Royal Yacht Britannia. Good selection of food and most restaurants have a lovely outdoor space facing the ocean. There’s a Vue cinema as well. Great location for a family day out.

We didn't get into this place. Only what I showed in my photos. We parked in at Debenham shopping area. Construction site is what we seen. New Tram area not finished either. We seen a man doing his website on his mobile, hopping sometimes soon to get on the ship that was there. We just got in my car and went to Burntisland for our diner.

Not quite a mall but rather "the house of the Royal Yacht Britannia" as it's written on its front. A few shops, free collections of old items and, of course, the entrance to the Royal Yacht. Many parking places and several bus lines as well. A food court as well with some restaurants and cafés.

I enjoy wandering around Ocean Terminal. It's a nice shopping centre, but a shame so many shops there have closed since the 2020 Pandemic. Hopefully it will revitalise at some point.

Lost opportunity - great location - interesting building - could be so much more than an "almost vacant' shopping centre. With some imagination and inovation - perhaps develop on the theme of a cruise liner - it could be great - sadly it's current operating model is I think doomed - pictures show mid afternoon mid week !

Decent shopping centre down in the shore at Leith. Good selection of shops and food places. There is an outside area overlooking the sea where you can sit if you can get a space, I wasn’t so lucky but did get a seat inside Zizzi at the window which was almost as good.

Free parking, its one less stress when out shopping. Great big Debenham and H&M. And a wee picture of the ships !

The best shopping center in Edinburgh. You can find everything you need. Great facilities. The best retailers in this place. Good restaurants.

  • 2/5 MD64ARM 2 years ago on Google
A fantastic location, good restaurants, and not to mention the Royal Yacht Britannia! However, it's a shopping centre without any really good shops, as most of the really good ones have long since shut. Ft Kinnaird has so much more choice.

  • 3/5 Jacob O. 2 years ago on Google
It used to be good, but it's more of a ghost town now. There are only a handful of useful shops like Boots, H&M and Holland Barrett. There is still a good selection of places to eat and have a coffee though.

Best shopping centre in Town Due to Covid and tram works this place is very quit even in November. Debenhams is not trading due to the business in struggle. But cinema, gym, eating places and Britannia makes this place a happening again. Love to visit to one of the surviving Frankie and Benny’s in Edinburgh.
