Great shopping and a great variety of food options ! East walk from Waikiki beach and accessible with transit etc. Ala Moans park is just across the street and it has a beautiful large beach, family oriented and beautiful sunsets. The send is nice but a lot of small white rocks. Water is warm and shallow. The Macy’s usually has great deals especially on footwear. Ross is a good place for Hawaii shirts and tops. Famous Footwear for sneakers. Wifi is a little spotty with lots of wifi networks- possible interference. Best place is in the main corridors or mall /and not food court. Mall is airy and clean but can be busy !!

Great selection of designer boutiques, department stores, other shops and food outlets. A nice place to walk around to pass time and find random bits and pieces you knew you need or wanted. Don’t go expecting that most shops would have sales/discounts on.

Best and biggest outdoor shopping center in the world!! Located near Waikiki, and across from a beach park, and a marina. Very clean. Upscale look. Felt very safe to shop around. Lots of free parking. So many stores!! So many restaurants!! Loved their main Food Court on the Lower Level for delicious, fresh, food! Food Court is huge, and affordable. Loved watching the free entertainment located at the Center Stage near the Food Court. The Hula dancers were wonderful. This place was awesome to visit!!

We went to dinner at Olive Garden, which is located inside The Moana Center. This place is basically a mall. I am impressed. I love the decor of all the individual stores. There were several open-air restaurants, one of which had live entertainment. I have never heard of several of these stores, but they look inviting (they were closed for the day). I will go back and visit them in the next few days. ***Update We went back the next day and had lunch at Charley's in the food court. We walked around for a while, looking at all the different stores. We had heard about pineapple whips, so we stopped and tried it. Omg! Pineapple Whips are delicious! There was a hula dance show at the center. It was really nice. I really like this center. They have something for everyone. It's very clean. People are nice and courtiest.

This is one of the best places in Waikiki, this place gives you shopping areas as well as a hangout place. Great selections of restaurants and food. A very busy and lively place to relax. Walking distance and lots of commercial areas, close to beach and park, great place.

It's actually doing well this is kind of new. Most malls are dieing but this one is thriving. It is definitely upscale and geared towards tourist but they do a small luau display in the evening. You'll find shops for everyone here.

This shopping center is strictly FIRST CLASS! It has 100's of common and exclusive brand stores to suit everyone's purchasing needs/tastes. It's picturesque views of open space-- with trees and greenery, along with fountains and other classy architectural structures make it a pleasure to stroll and window shop. Once you get hungry, it has a huge main food court with 30+ restaurants of all genres along with plenty of places to tend to your sweet tooth. There is even a separate food court for those that prefer Asian food. You can easily spend 2-3 hours enjoying all this center has to offer! :-)

This is a VERY big mall and for this 70+-year-old, getting around is daunting. There is a lovely koi pond. You will find every store on the planet at this mall, from Walmart to Chanel and every other high-end outlet. I visited Target and the Lanai food court. I regretted the food, as it was low quality, but there are many food outlets, so some are bound to be good. The mall is easy to get to by bus.

I didn't think I would spend much of my trip going shopping but this open air mall was so much fun to check out. I love the idea of shopping in the outdoor. Ala Moana is known to be the largest open air mall in the world. You get the tropical scenes along with your favorites retail stores. This mall has a few floors and great lounging areas. The weather is always perfect so you can rest at the outdoor areas after shopping. There are also a few food courts around the mall. All great places to grab a meal or desserts. It was not too crowded when I was there, easy to get around. The staff are also very friendly. Whether you're a local or on vacation, everyone comes to this mall. Definitely add this to your list of places to check out in Oahu.

This is a mall on steroids that pulled a slam dunk from the three point line! Seriously though, it has stores from luxury high-end to amazing food at the food court. It is a must visit if you are in Waikiki.

An awesome outdoor type of mall with stores ranging from Tiffany, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Hot Topic, and many local boutique stories. This is a great location to get some local stuff along with other items you might not find elsewhere. If it’s raining, I’d recommend an umbrella and/or light rain coat. Parking can be a bit of a pain depending on the day but there is a lot of parking available around the mall. So if shopping is a reason you came to Hawaii, this is a good place to start.

Very big and spacious. Lots of shops, restaurants and people. As we exit ABC shop, we saw people gathering at the stage. So we joined the crowd. Luckily, we did not miss the event , - presentation of Polynesian dances. We enjoy the show. Really a great day spent .

Very clean, beautiful, convenient to Ala Moana Hotel with tons of high end commercial shops/food options. We were disappointed not to have local shops/products for average people. The food court outside of Macy’s was our absolute highlight with more local food options for reasonable prices. Clean restrooms. Loved the coy water features and details to include natural elements to soften the stark commercial feel of the businesses. Cleaning staff were everywhere and very polite/hard working.

I Am writing this review as an honest reflection of my memory of the mall as as I visited as a guest while I had the feeling all too brief opportunity to be a sunshine young man college enrolled student at a private university nearby Hawaii Pacific University. It is one of the best shopping malls in the world. The largest outdoor shopping mall in the world happening to be in the tropical paradise of Hawaii Oahu. One of the best in the United States. The people who work there are positive and friendly. The quality of the shopping and dining and co-shopping experience tops I feel all and bars none. You will feel close to nature here like perhaps a few other shopping malls, maybe Singapore. I do not know for sure. I have NO DOUBT it has improved since I visited I few times while a college student to have a haircut and some shopping food courts and I Visited nearby the equally wonderful Ward Stadium theatres when I had some limited leisure time. I wish I had the opportunity to get paid work there too though at that time. That is PAST. But I am alive and grateful... I 've changed my place of living and college major and attitude somewhat. And good shopping malls, for youth, students of ALL ages, older adults, senior retired citizens, for working employee adults of ALL ages, can be and should be a place of rest, renewable, fun, community gathering, and quality shopping resources. God speed! Smiles, Aloha, and Mahalo to the Hawaiian community and tourism industry worldwide.... Simeet Gandhi. :) Be Safe, Be Healthy and Happy and OK well, please Keep Hope Alive!

Very beautiful area. There is a lot to do and see. One could spend a month here and still not see a fraction of all there is in the Center. We had a lot of fun looking around and wasting money. Will be doing it again, soon enough. We had gone shortly after arriving, so we hadn't slowed down yet. We were walking around trying to take it all in as fast as we could. That was a mistake. Take your time, you only live once.

I went during Christmas and this shopping center was beautiful! The open concept is very intriguing and the different layers make it feel like a maze. I can get over the feeling of being a little lost, because the shopping center was so fun to walk around in and look at the large variety of shops. For the most part it felt like it was made up of shops that were little bit more on the high end side which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you are looking for. All around, this place was a nice place to walk around and shop.

A giant shopping center that has many different categories of retail shops. It is an outdoor shopping plaza that has multiple Floors. From luxury brands to Common brands so there is always something for everyone to enjoy while browsing through this Shopping Center. There is a huge parking lot located in the plaza I didn't take too much time navigating it but I think it has several floors as well for parking. If you're into shopping this is the one place that you may actually spend a whole day exploring.

The largest shopping center in Hawaii. You can find some of the finest products and brands. Of course, expensive. Service is good. Plan to spend a whole day. It has many food options. However, It doesn't have many dedicated areas for children and families, which is not good for family shoppers. Also, I would recommend bringing Nike, Adidas, Banana Republic, Puma, Disney, or some other popular brands for targeted customers to attract more people.

Visit: November 2023 If you lioe malls, this is definitely a place you'd like. They have a wide variety of stores, and the mall is open to the outside (careful if it rains), but this provides a unique experience where you're able to get fresh air while you peruse different stores. There's also an underground section with many stores and a large food court with a ton of food options. Also a food Foodland grocery store attached which is convenient

Superb sprawling selection of stores and shops of every type, including grocery stores, gyms, and super luxury shops such as Harry Winston. Acres of hundreds of retail locations with ponds full of live Koi fish! Plenty of tech too, including Apple and Microsoft stores. It's literally a town within Honolulu under a roof and tons of garage space!

This is the best Mall in the world! There is everything you could possibly think of and more. It's half inside/outside. It's definitely a unique architectural design! The best part is there is plenty of parking for free in the many levels of parking decks. Just a heads up, remember (write it down and take note) of where you parked by the time you head out I promise you will be thanking me!

Excellent modern shopping mall worth visiting while in Waikiki - beautiful “outdoor” style mall that’s clean It’s got all the big brand department stores, all the chain stores, and loads of designer shops too - something for everyone. Great cafes/ coffee shops too. Really close to Waikiki so very convenient.

  • 5/5 James F. 4 years ago on Google
Great open air shopping centre with a wide variety of shops and cafés. You can easily spend a few hours here looking around at what there is to offer. There's a food court on the street level full of oriental places as well as a few American and Mexican. The centre has a mixture of both normal and luxurious stores. Worth a visit whilst on the island, the park opposite is pretty good too.

I enjoyed going to this mall. It has a large variety of stores and places to eat. This mall has everything that I think anyone can enjoy. I highly recommend this place if you have friends and family who are visiting and would like to explore around Hawaii. Also, when you’re done shopping you can stop by the beach which is across the street.

I needed to buy a pair of dress shoes. So I walked into Famous Footwear. I was immediately greeted with, "May I help you." Already a good start. I told her that I have "luau feet." You got any for me. She said, "Yes, a few selections. Please walk ahead and another associate will help you." Sure enough, I was met & greeted by an associate who knew her inventory. She selected. I tried 'em on until "Bingo"...that's the one and at a decent price. Sorry, I recall her name, but she was wonderful. Good people. Good store.

40% stores closed. Ruscello's restaurant open but 35 min wait for lunch seating. Food Court has long waiting lines at the 50% of kitchens who are open. and seating for 20% of customers. Sitting on benches throughout mall is prohibited. Parking plentiful. Customers must wait outside to enter Oakley or Uniqlo.

I come here quite often to get my fix of city vibes. There's plenty of places to see here and endless ways to spend money. This is a central part of the island as it's a major transfer point for bus systems, a hub for tourism and locals alike, with many smaller shops within short distance of the Ala Moana. It's quite literally a fabulous place to start out if you're looking for a refined place to visit for the day outside of the more earthy parts of the island. I highly recommend checking this out while here but equally recommend venturing out and away from the Honolulu/Waikiki area as the island has much more to offer than the vaccum vortex of consumerism.

This place is all in one roof and so huge. During Christmas it's sale in most of the shops. There is large variety and brands under one roof. The best part is there are guide desks noticeable points. All of them were much welcomed the customers for any kind of doubt to clear or for directions with pleasant smile. The ambience in the mall is so comfy that you will not get bored while shopping or just sit there for a while and spend some time having coffee. So this place must visit list because all you want is here under one roof.

Mall itself is nice, parking can be tricky as tourist are always coming in and out, and entering and exiting isn't sometimes ideal, get there early if you care for better parking. As for stores it ranges from low to high end so you can spend a little or very much depending on your wallet. Has a variety foods to meet your cravings ranging from American to Japanese to Hawaiian, if I could give 4.5 stars I would. Best mall on island and isn't comparable to others in size, quantity, quality, and variety of stores and parking.

Reviewing just for their drive in movies they launched in partnership with the Hawaii International Film Festival! This is such a great idea during the pandemic when so many attractions are closed, I hope they can continue it beyond the festival. It’s especially fun for families with trucks - can picnic in the back with lawn chairs! HIFF did a great job organizing the drivers into parking spots to ensure everyone got a great view. The night I went the indie movie Lumpia with a Vengeance, and the concession stand was even selling lumpia! It was so convenient to order online through a QR code and have them deliver it to our car. Hoping management sees this and considers continuing it into 2021!

This place is a major staple of Hawaii but its still one of the nicest and enjoyable places to go in Honolulu. It has a huge selection of everything you would expect in an upscale mall. Has the upscale major anchor stores, high-end specialty jewelry and apparel stores, subculture and independent chains down to local boutiques. It has every type of food option available and even specialty interest food choices. Has a beer garden. On ground floor, dinner, and snack food establishments. Ala Moana even has a boutique style grocery store. Ala Moana also has a satellite city hall there which is a great option for locals who prefer to avoid the other state offices that tend to be more packed and slow. Ala Moana has several floors from several sides offering views. Of course the Makai (water) facing side. Depending on where you are located floor wise will determine the quality of seeing the beautiful, rich, picturesque views

So much variety here. This is a mecca amongst malls. If you're not a shop aholic ( like myself) you gotta stop by and enjoy this 4 story super center. While parking is free don't think about parking here overnight as the police are known to hand out tickets and warnings.

Great place to visit even during these times with COVID. Not all of the stores are open but many are along with some restaurants: Island Brew Coffee is open with their great selection, Uniqlo, and many others. No events are currently being offered on the central stage area. Also, most of the outdoor sitting areas are closed.

One of the best malls America has, sadly like all malls it is seeing some stores go out of business. But if you can handle that, the ones that are open seem to be doing a brisk business. It's always clean and gorgeous and one of my favorite places....that's why I chose Oahu. The other islands are equally beautiful but this gal likes to shop! And no place makes that a more wonderful thing, than the Ala Moana Mall.

  • 5/5 Jonathan S. 3 years ago on Google
A beautiful, very large shopping center! This mall exceeds what I previously thought was the best in Tysons Corner Center. Pretty much every name brand store you can think of is here. The layout is oddly confusing going from second to first floor. The grounds were clean and free of trash. Seating areas are officially closed but I haven’t seen any social distancing enforcement when several people fill them. Second and third floors are great for simply walking with the sunlight coming in. Don’t forget to check the food court on the first floor! Wide selection of great tasting food down there! And Mr Tea next to Ross.

Easy to find stores, I went to Spectrum for internet services. I was given a refurbished equipment and still had to have technician come and bring new equipment. Zachary at the store was warm and friendly. 2 technicians on the phone were great. 1 wasn't so helpful, but finally up and running.

It’s astronomical, lol! Introverts, please take your headsets and listen to some music or a book while there. There’s a secret place on the third floor that is secluded that you can literally sit and people watch or read a book. Anyways, if you’re into shopping 🛍, this is the spot for you. If you want to get out and test your boldness for being around crowds of people, go here, lol. Overall, not a bad mall. Has pretty much all the stores you can think of and more. Uniqlo is on the second floor as well Zara. There’s a CoCos but it’s not the original CoCos from Japan. Enjoy 😉

Great place with lots of selection, from high-end to budget and all things in between. Missing Shirokiya, but it can't really exist safely given the current Covid state of things. Being an open-air shopping center is great. But be prepared when it rains; the parking levels flood and the walkways on the main promenade can be treturous. With the reduced traffic and hours, it has a sad vibe.

  • 3/5 Duane B. 3 years ago on Google
Having grownup in Honolulu, I have strong memories of Ala Moana from my childhood. The current lineup of stores bears little resemblance to those I frequented as a child and teenager. The vast majority of the stores seemed geared toward tourists and people in a much higher income bracket. So, I seldom have any inclination to go there, aside from Barnes & Noble, TrickedOut Accessories and Foodland.

Very pleasant, unique, high-end shopping mall! Multi-level, large, complex with lots of open air common space. Not only is this mall's design and look very unique, but it contains most every high-end retailer one could imagine! Plus, many familiar national brands are present. If you enjoy shopping, this is your paradise! Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Macy's are the large department store anchors. Many small to medium stores located inside the complex. Undoubtedly, this is the premier shopping center, and certainly the largest, in the state. The complex also includes many restaurants and dining options, including a large food court. My favorite feature is the exquisite Foodland Farm's grocery store, located on the lower level. The center is very popular and, at times, can be quite busy. The mall attracts a diverse customer base, interesting "people watching" location. If you're an avid shopper or just want a diversion from the beach activities, this shopping center will provide an interesting outting for the whole family or anyone shopping alone. Located in the heart of Honolulu, just blocks from the beaches of Waikiki.

The nicest mall I've ever been in. Parking was a breeze with plenty of space. I could see 100+ empty spaces just on our level. Lots of designer stores like Gucci, Tesla, and Louis Vuitton, but also plenty of affordable stores like Target, Vans, or Bath and Body Works. Easy to navigate all the floors. The food Court has a couple dozen choices and plenty of seating for the family or large groups.

We stopped by this mall and loved it! The atmosphere in the evening was great and the stores were upscale. The decor has a lot of opportunities for some nice photos. The mall offers restaurants, convenient store, upscale shopping and more. It's a place to visit for those who like to shop.

  • 5/5 Glenn L. 4 months ago on Google
While numerous other shopping centers nationwide are dying, Ala Moana Center surges forward since 1959 with heavy foot traffic and hardly any vacant store fronts. Its central location (close to the edge of Waikiki on one side) and between busy Ala Moana Boulevard & Kapiolani Boulevard, make Ala Moana Center a huge magnet for local shoppers and tourists. // I love the huge food court (Makai Market) with its numerous dining options. And the central stage often features live entertainment (usually contemporary Hawaiian song and dance or more traditional hula.) While I'm not a fan of the high-end, pricey boutiques, there are many other stores in this large open-air shopping complex to keep you occupied. I also appreciate the koi pond and the well-maintained plants and greenery. And people-watching here can't be beat!

I heard good things about this shopping center. Upon arrival in Hawai it was the first thing I did. I stoped there for lunch before checking in in our hotel. I haven’t been around the stores. I visited the food court and I parked my car in there. Plenty choices for food but mainly Asian food restaurant (Chinesse, Thai, Indonesia, etc) Decent choices. Very high prices. Expected because it’s a tourist spot. What I disliked tremendously is the cleanliness around the parking lote and around the entrances to the restaurants. It’s bad. You can tell they haven’t clean this area in a long time. This is the first thing you see when you go out of the car before even going inside. Consider cleaning this area. No a good presentation going there.
