This mall used to be nice. Now, all the trash cans are overflowing. The kid area is disgusting! My friend went one time and a massive fight broke out that caused her to be separated from her 3 kids because the stores had to put down their gates and lock them. The security guard was nice and helpful when we were trying to find a store. Other than that we don't go unless we have to.

Castleton square is a one stop place for many buying needs. Castleton square mall is a nice place inside Castleton square to buy clothing. All major clothing shops range from Macy's to Forever 21 to JCPenney available here. Apart from this, outdoor shops and AMC are also present. You will also find Best Buy and other interesting eateries nearby.

Some shopping available. Food court has gone downhill. The mall was clean. It did feel safe with lots of security. Not many holiday decor or shops in the center mall strip

So on Saturday 12/23/23, I couldn't remember where my car was parked, so I had to go back in & figure it out. As I was passing the piano, a nice lady started playing and I couldn't help but to start singing. It really made my day, I sang about 4 songs with her at Von Maur before I had to go. She was an awesome musician, good job Von Maur for choosing her. A very sweet and pleasant young lady, she didn't tell me to stop and encouraged me. Happy Holidays

Mall has no clearly marked bathrooms, security/ staff very rude and unhelpful on helping find 1. Only restroom found was in food court and was locked. Hopefully no one with disabilities or young/elderly ever need to use facilities cause this mall is in no way accommodating. Security/mall staff need classes on how to treat people. Not helping to find restrooms and at times wouldn't make eye contact or acknowledge us. Highly doubt I'd come back to this mall. Luckily most staff at the stores themselves were nice just horrible mall staff.

Speaking of Castleton Square mall is very interesting considering the age of the mall as it has been situated in the north-east of the city for the last five decades as stated in their website. Honestly, I was shocked and disappointed when I visited this mall. This shopping hub is claimed to be the largest in the state of Indiana. The diversity and mall essence take you back to 80's & 90's eras. The general ambiance is dull. Moreover, the variety of clothing in the big department stores is sort of degraded comparing to other locations of the same one's. I just wonder how retailers in this mall can make it to the profit. To me, the only thing worth the trip is the movie theater. Simply, it's an outdated mall with a touch of modern renovation.

What happened to this place? Floors are dirty, looks like they never mop the floors. Restrooms are a nightmare, papel toilet everywhere, dirty and the the paper bin over filled. Some of the good stores closed. It used to be a nice mall but now it feels unsafe.

We always seem to find exactly what we are looking for from the variety of stores. I absolutely love the dress we got for my 1 year old granddaughter. She looked like the little princess that she is to us.

I love coming here! Not only do they have a bunch of shops that I like, but they also have a bunch of fun foods like rolled ice cream and bubble tea!😍 Also check out Korave in the food court. They have really good Korean food there.

Ughhhhh. This place has seen better days, for sure. It's a bit scary. I'd not particularly recommend entering the shopping center proper - the food court and major department stores are the only redeeming elements of this formerly nice property.

BEWARE OF STRAIGHT AHEAD BEAUTY. This scam is one of the pop up shops in the middle of the aisles. I just genuinely want to warn people, especially those more vulnerable. I have diagnosed PTSD and I’m very afraid of men. I don’t usually go to the mall alone but this time I was feeling good and I went. This man told me I dropped something but when I checked he got me to come sit down. I immediately followed instructions and froze. I told him I had to go, I told him I didn’t have the money, I told him no multiple ways but he just kept pressuring me until I made 2 purchases. He touched my hair without my permission and styled it half way so I wouldn’t be able to leave as easily until he finished it. When he was straightening it I could see the smoke coming off and burning my hair. I got away as soon as I could, I was so upset. I took a walk and came back trying to just return them, explained my disability and everything. But of course, he twisted words to make it seem like you could make a return but you can’t. I feel so taken advantage of.

My daughter hurt her finger here at this mall about 5 years ago. The chair in the food court had a malfunction. She nearly sliced the tip of her finger off, the staff there had no sympathy, just passing the buck as to who was responsible for the chair being out. My daughter had to have stitches in her finger, she also was a violin player. This damaged the finger she needs to play violin with, she had continued numbness. They offered us 200 dollars, this wasn't even enough to pay her medical bills.I was really shocked such a large corporation would not accept any liability for something that was their fault.

Love this mall. It had an awesome array of shops to go to. And the variety makes it a place where everyone in the family has stuff for them to find. The food court is a major plus for variety and convenience. The mall is hardly ever crowded, so shopping there can be a smooth and relaxing experience.

Very nice mall. First time here and they definitely have the stores you would look for in a mall such as this one and then some. We mainly went in to check out the arcade there which was excellent and fun as well.

Overall, this is a good mall. I really like the wide selection of stores here, and the food offered here is affordable and delicious! (Haven’t been there in a bit, but blondie’s cookies and Asian Chao are excellent places to eat, provided they are still there) The mall is constantly adding or changing shops, so there is always something new to see. That being said, classic stores include the lego store, Macy’s, and Box lunch (not that old, but I absolutely love that store) Place does feel a little bit outdated in comparison to other malls around, and not as well-lit in some areas. Still worth checking out though.

Visited for the first time from out of town, primarily to check out Boss Battle Games. The arcade gets a 5-star rating for its fantastic setup and exceptionally helpful and kind staff. However, the overall mall experience warrants only 2 stars due to the condition of a nearby restroom located within a department store close to the arcade. The bathroom was in such disrepair that it resembled a scene from a horror film. There was unattended human waste (let's just call it that) on the floor inside a stall, cleaning supplies were left abandoned. Completely unfit for use. Unsettling.

First time I've visited and I loved the atmosphere that this place had. I found stores that I had never heard of like Attic Salt and Alice's Candy. I also finally got to see a Lego Store. I would highly recommend shopping here and will visit again myself soon.

Good place. But people act like they don't know how to drive in the parking lot

  • 2/5 Matthew K. 7 months ago on Google
My son loves this mall but the wheelchair accessible parking spaces are extremely limited and in very few of the lots. The lot by the food court has more parking for Chick Fil A curbside pickup than it does for people with disabilities. The lack of accessibility unfortunately demands a poor general review.

This mall has Macy’s, Akira, a LEGO store, Starbucks and a boba spot. There’s a decent mix of shopping and quick service food (from the food court). Would love to see more fast casual restaurants open up here though!

I'm a Southsider and rarely go out north. The mall was full of rowdy teens and I even saw a fight break out in the parking lot when I left. The construction around the mall had me lost! It took me 3 tries to find how to get back to 465. I've never had to use my GPS to get home... I did this day and I ended up having to take 69 to get to 465.... I will not be back!

People say this mall is run down, but I have to disagree. They clearly haven't been to Washington Square or Lafayette Square mall. This mall is still decent. They just need to do something about the outside of it. Maybe a remodel, and redo the parking lot perimeter. Pot holes everywhere. Only thing I have to complain about about the mall itself is the overpriced stuff being sold, and overpriced mediocre food inside the food court. Except for Chick fil a. Chick fil a will always get my money.

Are the people who fill the vending machines dumb? Someone mixed up all the drinks on the bottom level of E1 so when you press E1 you don’t know if you’re getting sweet tea, water, or Diet Coke lol. I wanted a water and got a sweet tea. Also, no customer service in the mall to help. And no one picked up the Simon Castleton phone.

Great selection of shops.Very friendly staff. Excellent selection and prices.I came here frequently as a child, and teenager.I haven't been to the mall in over a year. I was very pleased with the stores, many of which are new, and there was a good and well behaved crowd. I was VERY, VERY shocked to see the mall completely open with NO social distance enforcement in place.

It's a mall, it's loud, there are lots of people, it's not always the cleanest, but they have decent stores and my interactions here have been mostly pleasant. The movie theater is very nice.

Haven't been there for some time. My wife and I very much enjoyed our visit to the mall. Just about everything under the sun, including some really good food choices. We can't wait to go back.

Went to the mall this evening, their hours are listed incorrectly online. It closes at 8pm on Thursday. We were only there for build-a-bear. The security guard cursed at us. They made us exit half the building away from our car in the rain. I'll never use this mall again because of how badly the security guard treated us with our 6 year old who was already bawling because build a bear was closed.

I usually try to avoid this mall but needed to go to a shop inside. The mall was ridiculously crowded on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and a good reminder of why I try to shop elsewhere. Parking was fine but once we got inside, it was hard to even walk around without being mobbed. Anxiety inducing and not worth it

  • 4/5 time 1 year ago on Google
The chairs have ware and tear and parts of the mall are crumbling into piecea but there's a LOT going on here and it's beautiful otherwise. The bathrooms were actually really clean. What I loved the most is they had those toilet seat covers, most places run out of them and don't restock. It's a lifesaver.

  • 4/5 Jesse G. 1 year ago on Google
If you enjoy shopping this the mall to go. It has a little of everything from electronics to fashion to toys. Very well maintained but there’s a few spots out in the parking where there’s potholes needs attention to instead of putting a cone.

  • 1/5 Lamber E. 2 years ago on Google
Need better security in the mall. When we got there shortly after 30 minutes, a bunch of high school kids. Probably about a group of 40 people fighting, and nobody came by to check in on anyone. It was loud, and you could hear them 5 stores down from where we are shopping at. The store we were at asked if they needed to shut down because of the fighting and screaming going on. So, my daughter and I were concerned, and you need to be better role models for kids. Especially teenagers. Do better Castleton. You have more shops and more places to go. It was almost like we were at Washington Square Mall. I rather shop in Greenwood Park Mall.

I love this store, though, I refused to shop at this one when the sales associate told me that I had to give them the bags I was trying to bring in. Hey, I'd already been shopping in the mall, I had some cute and expensive stuff in my bags from 4 or 5 different places; there was no way I was letting this 12year old put my newly acquired belongings behind her desk where, if something came up missing, I'm sure that it was at "my own risk". I don't think so! So, I went shopping elsewhere, and they lost a $300 sale. But I guess that's loss prevention for ya.

Simon Malls continues to set the standard with high-level malls. This mall is top-of-the-line, yet cozy. Some spaces sit empty, leaving plenty of opportunity for businesses to create their footprint in a high-traffic economic development.

  • 4/5 Bill P. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great afternoon checking out all different shops and then eating lunch. The only problem was trying to find Handy Cap Parking because a number of the parking spots were taken by car's (people) without proper plate or permit. This is a serious problem and needs to be addressed.

Traffic is nuts at Christmas time. The mall is nice, clean and mindfully safe. Watch your back per the usual. One mall cop on a Segway doesn't offer much reassurance given the recent uptick in gun-involved crimes at this location.

So I’m writing more about this review because apparently I can’t leave another one. 10 days ago I called the mall manager because she gave me her business card. She said the straight ahead beauty owner would call me, and never did. I left my name and number to call me back. No one has responded. So F you people for being completely unprofessional. If you’re shopping for something in particular, stay on track. I was here a week ago and those stands in the middle of the mall, circled me like a shark. Sweet talked me in to buying straight ahead products for $214. Didn’t tell me there was no refund. They hide that sign by the register. Didn’t notice it on my receipt until wanting to return it. Don’t buy these products they are a scam artists. And aren’t up front with you.
