I was robbed at gunpoint after leaving a store in the mall called highline jewelry store,I was not provided any security escort to my vehicle, after the incident took place I then went back into the mall first to speak with security who failed to watch the security cameras and missed the robbery as it occurred yet after trying to provide my information to their office I then went to the jewelry store called hotline and spoke with the owner and manager and explained to them that I'd just been robbed the first thing out of their mouths were we are not responsible for what takes place out of our store witch is ridiculous because the city of Hayward because of the ongoing robbery issue at this Mall gave special instructions to follow an one of which is that any purchase made from their store from a costumer should then after their purchase should be escorted to their vehicle for safety and they failed to do this which is clearly a lawsuit and I would like to see their store shutdown immediately for their conduct and compensate me for my loss and for emotional distress I also ask that anyone viewing this to please not go to this store yet share this to your social media pages to continue getting this story out to help other's.

I was running errands nearby and decided to check this mall out. Sadly, it has a strong feeling of abandonment. There is trash, leaves, and other debris just inside the entrances. There are tons of spills and "drag marks" for lack of a better term as if something sticky was pulled along the floor and these stains look weeks old. There are a bunch of empty shops and boarded up locations, the food court is missing half of it's restaurants. The liveliest place inside the mall is the Round1 Arcade and Bowling portion, which would be great if it wasn't 80% claw machines which are obviously designed to be impossible to win. There are some good points... the stores that are there do look clean and otherwise seem kept in good shape. But for a weekend afternoon, this place was quiet and missing a certain vibrancy that is commonplace in other malls in the Peninsula. I can see now why Google says that visitors typically spend 15 minutes to an hour - I was in and out in 30. There was really nothing worth seeing.

Came to grub at Hang 10 Boiler. Love it, all the sauce was good. Too bad they don't have the Crawfish and raw oysters. Everything else was on point.

This is the experience that I had on Jan 7th, 2023 and I shared this on my Facebook page: "Having a physical disability makes it a challenge when I went to the Southland Cinemas in Hayward. Getting to and from deterd me from wanting to go to their theater ever again. If they say they are handicap friendly, just getting to them was a bad experience. Maybe the engineers need to have a better way to allow people with disabilities to enjoy the area that is on the ground floor. I only saw one elevator and it was not working." One of my close friends who know me personally commented and said and strongly suggested for me to contact ADA, and here is his comment: "That’s not right brother. They need to make it right. You can contact the ADA to make sure this establishment make All services Accessible to you or anyone else that might be in the need of it." I know by my commenting through Google there will be action taken cared of.

The mall itself is run down, most stores are not what people fmgo to a mall to buy or want. I was just there today and there was a blatant robbery, a man beating on his screaming young and very pregnant girlfriend, a slew of police officers and a drug dog. I ran over a bunch of broken alcohol bottles in the parking lot and may have popped my tire, as well as a littering of drug wrappers and paraphernalia. I do not feel safe here. There are security guards, but they're just looking at their phones while bad stuff goes down and not really even witnessing anything. People without placards parking in handicap spots, as well as vehicles parked in the sparce electric charging stations that aren't electric. The last part is minor in comparison, but still important to people who can't physically get around or need to charge up their cars.

This was definitely the most bizarre shopping mall I have ever been to. What is with the layout here? I came to pass some time while in the East Bay area and saw that they had a Round One, Gamestop, and H&M. We entered through Round One and found ourselves trapped and lost? How are we supposed to exit to the shopping mall? We ended up having to pass through an emergency exit. Once we entered the shopping mall, it seemed to be an endless hallway of shops. It was clean inside, but it was just such a long strip of stores... it felt like I was walking forever. At one point, we went down an escalator thinking it was another floor of stores, but it was just a food court? There was entire different floor just for the food court? My friends and I were so confused! I can see why this is a dying mall unfortunately.

I was there before Christmas to do some shopping. When I got there, three women were being arrested and police were all over the place. Two hours into my shopping came back to my car to find everything from every compartment scattered all over the car and items missing. I got robbed!! Called mall security to inform and ask for footage to report to police and the person that took my information never called back with information. Ridiculous. Had some things to return after Christmas but instead went to another mall! Ain’t coming here again!!

Great mall, although they need to add more stores! And there’s a lot of creepy guys looking at me and my sister as we walk! But as long as we don’t run into the creeps I’d say it’s a good mall!

I think the mall has improved a lot. There are plenty of stores that I enjoy shopping at. Lots of shoe stores as well. I don’t feel unsafe in the mall, but I keep my eye out. Food court is just bad, it needs more food. Parking is good, but I only park in the front entrance to minimize the risk of a break in. Round 1 and the theater are great improvements. Sometimes prefer it over stoneridge, depending what I’m there for

I’ve been going to this mall since I was young. Never got robbed and I’ve always found everything that I needed from here. I love this mall so much.

I feel like that this mall is a good place to stop by at certain stores and then leave afterwards. It's not really a place to walk around and hangout with people. At least they have Round1, but this place needs a complete renovation based on its atmosphere. It just feels empty there. There is a food court under the mall, but rarely anybody goes there. At least there are appropriate amount of food selections. What really takes up the most is the size of the mall since it's about the same size as the one from Newpark Mall. I don't really plan on coming back here unless it gets renovated. There is much to improve.

Ummm that was a weird mall. I’m not sure if they are remodeling or are trying the minimalistic look, but it’s definitely very odd and not mall-like. The restrooms we visited needed care and repair. The mall itself was just like a hallway with white walls. Very weird. Did not like it at all.

This mall have a lot of potential. However they are not investing back to the mall. This place look burn down and old. If the owner and investor put some love in this place, there can be a lot of potential .

Honestly, this is more of an appreciation post. I've been living in Hayward all my life and southland has always stood strong. Once they added an arcade and theaters I knew they were here to stay.

I go here a lot but most stores are closed, and the concept of just a straight line of a mall is dumb. You can easily spend 10 minutes here and get everything you need.

Very fun mall, I walk here all the time. There are sometimes fairs and carnivals and big events here. It deserves more attention!!

Great parking lot. Seafood City has some really good BBQ pork and chicken if you swing in around lunch
