Our family of seven (ages 8 to 69) planned in advance and bought tickets to the “My First Louvre” private tour led by museum staff, directly from the Louvre website. The 90-minute tours are Saturdays and Sundays at 11 o’clock. It’s just a brief overview to get you started. I was most impressed by the below ground viewing of elements of the castle remains on which the Louvre was built. Tour included a history of the museum before we set off. Make sure you allow plenty of time to find the starting place of the tour within the museum. It took us awhile to find where to enter the museum, and then to find our way to the location to pick up our headsets and the room to wait. So allow at least 30 minutes. Trust me! A stop to view the Mona Lisa is included, but there is a Disneyland-type queue to get close enough to snap a photo. We enjoyed our brief taste of the museum very much. We also enjoyed that there were places in the pyramid section to purchase beverages and baguette sandwiches.

It was a great visit! We had a lot of fun during the 3 hours we spent on our visit to the museum and we saw a lot of great sculptures and paintings. Definitely recommended to buy the tickets in advance so you have to wait less time at the entrance queue and bring some food of your own so when you finish your visit you can have something to eat (if you don’t want to spend any money in the cafeteria).

The Louvre Museum is a must-go place when you visit Paris! Although the queue is long, the moving speed is fast. We purchased the tickets online and queued for just 5 minutes to enter the museum. We were amazed by the art and the amazing sculptures inside the museum. The museum is spacious with several floors featuring different types of art and themes. We spent nearly 4 hours here. Due to it being winter, it is less crowded compared to summer. Overall, it is definitely worth visiting once in your life. If you like art or history, go check it out!

What can you say... It's the Louvre. Fantastic but very large museum. Do some homework before you arrive to get the most out of the visit. The staff is very helpful and we were able to get through a see most of what we wanted to see. We tried a later in the afternoon time to beat the crowds, but the Mona Lisa had a large line to get in front of it. I think being there on the opening hour may be the best or definitely during a slower tourist season.

It is a really really nice museum in Paris and in the world. I went there to see Mona Lisa paint and Venus. You need to wait and line to buy ticket . It would be better if you could buy tickets through online. The museum is super wide and bigger. You will need enough time to see the beauties of the museum. I think a week is worth spending time there. The arts, paints, and creations are unique and amazing. So many people are always crowded in front of the Mona Lisa paint. The paint is covered by a glass not to touch it easily. It was painted on the wood and the size is small. The paint opposite side to it is also so nice and bigger.I would like to recommend you to see each paint and enjoy them. You can take a flyer or map of the museum at the information department. Or you can ask the securities at every corner of the museum if you want to see something special and if you could not find the way to them.

You should definitely visit Louvre when you are in Paris! Plan your visit in advance by purchasing the ticket online. When you arrive, find the line with your visit time! The line will go fast so don’t scare of a big lineup! You need minimum 3 hours to see a few sections of the museum, and probably you can’t see all in one visit so take it easy and enjoy the museum.

You probably need five weeks to cover the immense Materials in here. It’s incredible collection. I highly recommend at least one full day and to get the audio guide. Start with the masterpiece trial to get a good introduction. Left the museum by buying a guidebook that I’m still perusing at this point. Total mind blowing experience.

Absolutely stunning and incredibly huge. Entrance is included in the Paris museum pass, which is incredible value for money, but we booked an entrance time slot online. Definitely make sure you book your slot in advance or you will be queuing for hours! Arrive half an hour before your slot so that you get in straight away when your time comes. We booked the second slot of the day and went to the Mona Lisa straight away: we didn't have to queue to see the painting for more than a minute, but when we went past later the queue was huge. There are also restaurants and gift shops inside the museum.

(Translated by Google) I think it was a good experience. Everyone should go to the Louvre at least once. Be sure not to bother before Christmas. In addition, unique works of Iranian culture and history are kept here (Original)

One of a kind place—a 100% must see during your visit to Paris. We toured the Damon section and saw the paintings. This is the section the Mona Lisa is displayed in. The whole place is a work of art. The halls are lined with priceless art and sculptures. The whole place is an aesthetic experience. If you want to see the whole thing, you’ll need at least two days. Extremely price friendly at 17€ per adult. Kids get in free. There is a restaurant and cafe on-site, as well as a gift shop. There are two metro stations close by too. Make sure to check your COVID credentials and have them ready to display.

If you are visiting for the first time and you want to make the best out of your time, money and enjoyment this is the package you need to go for. If you like a tour, this one was good! Mr Ferier, out tour guide, was fantastic, he presented all the interesting stories, facts, numbers, and anecdotes about the art pieces we saw. He made it look like a movie, created a connection and a story while presenting everything. After he finished we had the choice of exploring further the museum at our pace. Amazing!

I know most people go to the Louvre for Mona but there are actually many more beautiful things in the Louvre than Mona (rest assured that all roads will lead you to Mona). Booking tickets in advance is recommended and you go down to the museum so you don't have to queue - it's exit 6 (if I remember correctly) when you exit metro 1. The museum's website has enough languages to Please refer before coming. They also have maps and necessary equipment at the reception so you don't get lost, that's right, you didn't read that wrong because the possibility of getting lost in the Louvre is entirely possible. The Louvre is a large museum, but the walkway signage is really ineffective. The proof is that I go back and forth in the same area several times and it makes me tired. You should also accept the fact that you can't explore this whole museum in one day (or can you?) but I felt exhausted after nearly 4 hours surrounded by works of art. And there are areas where there are almost no visitors (it's quite scary being alone in a large space). And of course, your tickets are free if you are under 26 years old and living and studying in Europe! Anyway, I hope you have a good experience. P/s: They have super spacious coat and furniture rooms to make your visit even more stress-free

Probably one of the most popular museum in the world. Always a great pleasure to discover and rediscover the major art of the world. It’s busy. Get your tickets in advance and try to go when it’s not a holiday. But you’ll be happy to be there.

One of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in Paris. Museum was awesome, though a lot hype around the Mona Lisa when it's not even that big of a painting. Was cool to see an artist there painting a new piece in the moment.

The largest and most impresive and beautiful museum I have ever been to, it is a multiple day endeavor: After selectively stopping for specific masterpieces, it took me 5 hours just to get to see half of the exhibition. A truly must see, bucket list visit. You must buy your tickets online for a specific time of entry into the museum, so plan carefully your visit.

This is one of the best visits to do in Paris. The museum blows your mind away. You can do this in 1 day or 3 days. To fully appreciate the works here you could spend 2 days easily here. I would highly recommend you buy tickets in advance for this museum online. It is always very busy and hundreds of people present at each time slot. We booked for the first one in the morning as it appears to be easier to get in and a little bit of less ques. You have all facilities here toilets restaurants etc. The only advice is eat before you go in as you can not bring food or drink into museum. Highly recommend a visit to this museum.

This is probably one of the best museums in the world. There is so much to see. Plan to spend at least half a day here. The collections are quite extensive and covers everything from art to antiquities. Prepare for crowds - the Mona Lisa had a throng of people around it and you have to elbow your way through to see the painting. Buy your tickets online to skip the queue at the entrance.

The Louvre Museum is the world's largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris, France. A central landmark of the city, it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the city's 1st arrondissement (district or ward). Approximately 38,000 objects from prehistory to the 21st century are exhibited over an area of 72,735 square meters (782,910 square feet). In 2019, the Louvre received 9.6 million visitors, making it the most visited museum in the world. Lovely museum that you can spend hours in, just don't spend all your time trying to look at one small painting when there are thousands of other amazing things to look at in the museum.

I mean what can you say? It's the Louvre. Houses the most famous pieces of art in the world. Obviously worth a visit! It's huge. This was my second trip here and this time I focused on the galleries I didn't get to see last time, a few years ago. It takes a little while to understand the map. I kept getting lost at first. The artwork is clearly identified in French and English. There are bathrooms scattered about. Lots of people. Definitely buy tickets in advance.

Visiting the Louvre was an awe-inspiring journey through art and history. The vastness of the collection is staggering, from iconic masterpieces like the Mona Lisa to ancient artifacts. Navigating the museum was smooth, thanks to well-marked exhibits. The ambiance is truly magical, and the architecture adds to the grandeur. I would unequivocally rate it a perfect 5 out of 5. The Louvre is a masterpiece in itself, an experience that transcends expectations

One day is just not enough to take in all of the beauty this museum has to offer. It is huge and well worth the money. I am happy it was not crowded because it is January and I hope to come back in the future the explore all the things I did not have time for today. Lovely.

Absolutely must go place when visiting Paris. Definitely get tickets ahead of time online so you can avoid long waits. The lockers were helpful to drop our stuff for walking around. Be prepared to walk (attire) as we did about 4 miles walking inside. The Mona Lisa viewing area was very busy but not bad if you’re patient. Do note the Napoleon Apartments are temporarily closed.

Please read below! -Buy your tickets in advance! -If there’s a chance of rain bring appropriate gear as you queue outside to get in. -Ensure you have several hours free! -Download the map, it’s a life saver -plenty of food and drink at all price ranges available inside. -toilets are few and far between in the main wings, and the toilets in the main entrance get VERY busy, especially the ladies. Audio guides available and recommended. If you want to see the famous Mona Lisa get in as early as possibly and head straight there! We did and got to the front for a fantastic view of the lady herself and it really made our day! Be warned in advance this place is HUGE. We were there for 4hrs and still didn’t manage to see everything to its fullest extent. We bee lined to all our favourites and must sees. And then enjoyed the rest of the venue and a more gentle pace. Simply stunning , we’d love to go again one day! Highly recommend.

Personally speaking i feel that Mona Lisa is really hyped. There are more beautiful paintings with fascinating stories behind it. Just opposite Mona Lisa is a lovely and the largest painting of the louvre, but unfortunately no one talks about it! Keep in mind when you plan to visit you must have at least 6 hrs to go through the entire museum.

The greatest museum in the world. One day isn’t even enough to see one object per room. Visit more than once if you can, or make a plan. The digital guide is great but f you kind of all ready know what you want to see, but a little frustrating if you don’t have a full day to spend. Open late on Fridays - a great time to visit with less crowds and a totally different atmosphere.

Quite a lot of work of arts. I saw the highlights, but wished I could have seen more. Will go back definitely. We walked about three km and focused on about three statues and the Mona Lisa. It was amazing to learn a bit about the history of the museum and where all the art came from. Great to see the Mona Lisa in low season. I recommend seeing it when it’s not high season.

It’s a treat for all the art lovers! One can spend hours in just looking at all the art pieces in this museum. Do take the entrance ticket for the museum online to avoid the long queue. Visit the museum in the morning as it is less crowded. There are audio guides and the museum map to help to get around the place. There is always a huge line at the Mona Lisa exhibit, but it’s worth a wait.

The best museum in the world, the museum building is itself fabulous and the museum too. The museum is situated in a huge area and one can rapidly see all things in the day time. If wishing to see in detail one should spare 3-4 days. The premises are huge and require at least 10 KM of walking while watching.

(Translated by Google) 📍A museum where the eyes are fun even if you don't know art It is a very beautiful place not only as a cultural asset inside but also the space itself. I hate France for not completely returning the cultural assets of our country, but the Louvre has no choice but to admit it. It is highly recommended to enter the Louvre, but even if you do not enter, it is recommended to experience the beauty of this place. If you are looking inside, it is recommended to go early. Just like anywhere in Paris, there are so many people here. If possible, you should go 30 minutes before the opening time so you can relax a little. If you want to take a picture of the Mona Lisa, you can save time by going to the Mona Lisa and taking a photo as soon as you enter the open hours. As you may know, this is a very large place, so choosing the works you want to see in advance and making a flow line where you will go can save your legs less pain and save time. Even if you are new to art, there are many works you know, so it is recommended to plan ahead. With comfortable shoes, a good plan and a lot of time you will have a very nice time at the Louvre. Go for what interests you the most, because it is close to impossible to see everything during one visit. I would recommend checking out the crown jewels, on the same level as the Mona Lisa. Also, the quarter were Napoleon III. resided is a must, the rooms are stunning!

Very nice museum for spending the whole day if you are interested in reading about each piece, if you just want to walk around and take an overall look you will spend between 3-4 hours to walk through the whole place. The entrance is free for European students. You can buy the tickets at the museum or online. Not very much offering in terms of food, would recommend to eat before or after the visit.

Really really really cool museum! Noted points: - maybe don't go in the middle of the summer at peak tourism 🤣, it was hot on the upper floors and crowded - the audio guided tour was helpful and nice (I think I may book a tour guide next time just to see what it's like) - seeing the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, and Venus de Milo was really cool - loved the Egyptian exhibit - the Mona Lisa isn't THAT small 😆, it's just smaller than most of the other paintings in the museum - take an entire day off or two and go and really soak in all the details, you miss so much just browsing past all the exhibits - at the entrance there are smaller faster food vendors than the cafés if they are crowded, I needed food and water asap cause I thought I was going to faint - LOTS of stairs and such, wear comfy shoes, be prepared to walk and climb up and down

Direction signs are not placed very well, I’ve had hard times to find my way and my destination point even with a map. Either the signs were too high, or there were few/none. There were too many people as well, so I don’t suggest visiting on weekends. If you do, most probably you will not be able to take a close picture of Mona Lisa

Didn’t expect much, and was a bit surprised. It’s a nice experience with many many art pieces, among other things. It was pretty crowded and quite hard to navigate, but it’s expected for it’s size and popularity. Also, As an EU student under 25, the entrance was completely free, which is insane and thanks to France or whoever did that.

Musee De Louvre never ceases to impress. I know Mona Lisa was happy to see us, as she smiled a bit 🖼 The museum is beautiful and really well maintained. There are several amazing artefacts and paintings that are stunning. Besides the Mona Lisa there is a lot of amazing things on display in this world class museum. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes as you have to walk a lot.

It's huge and beautiful and mind blowing. They're so many interesting pieces tucked away in little corners, you feel like you have to check every wall. I don't speak French so I think I mistakenly ordered and ate some bologna flavored chips while I was there.

The Louvre Museum is one of the most famous museums in the world, cannot tell the special things about this museum, the huge collections of human... it takes a full day to visit this museum... But the first impression that caught the eyes of visitors is the glass pyramid, which after opening immediately became the new symbol of the Louvre Museum.

I believe this museum is familiar to everyone and if not visited, almost everyone has heard about it before. The world's largest art museum located in Paris, exhibits around 38000 objects dating back from prehistory to the 21st century. It is an incredible and inexplicable experience to visit this museum. Here are some of the photos of my visit last year. (At the moment the museum is closed due to preventive COVID legislation until December.)

Strolling through the aisles, stairs, corridors, hall and rooms is an adventure, because you have to be able to squeeze between other visitors. The forecourt was not too crowded when we visited. The underground parking is ideal. The proposed themes are complete. To see and see again, to immerse yourself in many worlds and cultures, all very different from each other. Family price available on the internet and at the cash desk. But it is absolutely necessary to anticipate, to hope to gain a little time.

Probably the must have place to visit in Paris. Especially interesting if you are familiar with art. If not, it gets boring quickly, especially after you have seen the Mona Lisa, to which there is a line even during the covid time. And so, in August, it was very stuffy inside and hot, you wanted to leave faster. Especially when you are in face mask.

Louvre Museum is a go to place when visiting Paris. Best place for Art lovers and indeed inhabits the most famous painting of "Mona Lisa". There are several other paintings as well which portray the sophisticated and detailed description of art. Several other scriptures, statues, paintings throughout the museum from various ethnicities : French, Greek, Italian and many more depict excellent display of art and architecture. 👍

The museum has great art work on display from different cultures of the world✨. What's more fascinating is the museum architecture and interior itself is a beauty to behold. Most recommended visit. Would strongly suggest buying tickets online in advance (saves your precious time and energy) and keep at least 5-6 hours in hand for the museum instead 😀 Tips and Tricks: The public transport is really good in Paris. Buy 1/2/3/ or 5 day pass (valid for both train and bus), depending on your visit from the station counter. If you are traveling through flights, buy another pass which covers the train/bus to the airport as well 👍

Unbelievable tourist location. There are miles and miles of things to see in this museum. Walked until I couldn’t take it any longer. It would takes months to see all of this place. There are turns and more turns of exhibits and paintings to see. In addition to the rooms and paintings there is jewelry in cases to see as well. There are sculptures from other countries that were given to the King. There are paintings on the walls, wall paper on the walls and murals on so so many ceilings. How these artists painted upside down to this degree is truly unbelievable. Strange enough there was not an abundance of a crowd although there were people everywhere, but apparently this was off season so the crowds are much less than other times of the year. Simply beautiful and astonishing all under one roof with the roof going for miles around this U-shaped building.

My review based on the outside area since I didn't enter it but a small tip, my friends entered and they got the ticket from the museum instead of online and it was 15 euros unlike online ticket so keep that in your mind. Louvre museum area is really beautiful and I can really see the reason of its fame. The architecture is just amazing and there's also free wifi near to pyramid. Watching sunset in the garden part was just so epic. The evening view of Louvre is also beautiful. Too many reasons to love this building complex. How modern architecture and historical one blends so well. Love it!

What more to be said than everything that's written during the years about the worldwide famous Louvre museum. Yes, it is extremely big. Yes, you can spend days and days discovering the collection. Yes, the Mona Lisa is really small. Yes, the museum is overcrowded by people. Yes, there's a long waiting line. Inside this information is where the museum's only problem is hidden, It's too much of the good thing. There are so many objects and paintings in every room that it's almost impossible to focus on one thing. The Louvre does a great job in showing how versatile their collection is, but there isn't a lot of information in every room about what you're looking at. It would be an improvement if they leave more space between every painting, so you can have a good look at all the details. The building itself and the entrance with the pyramid are impressive, a pure joy to enter. Be sure to take your time or just focus on certain parts of the museum, as you'll probably lose time and be there the whole day. 4.5/5.0

Absolutely stunning museum with some of the most stunning masterpieces in the world! The building itself is also a work of art, you have to remember to look up to admire the ceilings - paintings and mouldings throughout. We got a group tour skip-the-line tickets direct from the Louvre. After the tour we spent the rest of the day to see Michelangelo statues, French paintings and the Egyptian exhibit. It’s well worth your time! Would recommend a guide and buying tickets ahead. Enjoy!

When you arrive you need to make sure you get into the correct line. There were 2 when we arrived. One said 11.30 (it was 11.55 when we arrived) the other was all times on the hour. The person on the 11.30 line couldn't / wouldn't tell us what the line was for. The other staff on duty also couldn't tell us what that line was for. I noticed a lot of people lining up in that line only to be told they needed to go to the other line. I would advise booking your ticket though as the booked ticket line did move pretty quick despite it looking really long. Whereas the none booked ticket line hardly moved at all. Once inside the gallery is really hard to navigate. It is a really busy place once you get inside people moving all over. When I arrived there were more lines inside but no signage to say what they were for. The information desk gave away maps which helped the navigation issue but the staff manning the desk were unhelpful and 2 we tried to talk to wouldn't look up from their phones. We didn't visit all the exhibits as it just didn't do it for us. We like reading about what we are looking at and occasionally like asking for more information however, when walking round we noticed so many employees asleep all we could think of was Mr Bean in Paris. All in all a bad experience happy to have see it but wouldn't go back.

The louvre is a MUST GO in Paris. Always book your tickets in advance, otherwise you will spend hours in the line. Tickets were €17 each and can be bought in the museum website. If you are not an art geek, spending three to four hours in the museum are enough to see the highlights! If you are into art, given the huge size, you will need to save more than 1 day to see the whole museum! Overall, super nice experience! All the museum is super fancy and you can feel how the french royalty used to love luxury!

Highly recommend this spot for art enthusiasts! Be aware, it's shut on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. Returning soon for another glimpse of the Mona Lisa. The Louvre is the world's largest museum and houses one of the most impressive art collections in history. The magnificent, baroque-style palace and museum — LeMusée du Louvre in French — sits along the banks of the Seine River in Paris. It is one of the city's biggest tourist attractions

Extremely beautiful. Astonishing. Amazing. Breathtaking. If you want to see the Mona Lisa and a few paintings and sculptures you'll need a few hours. If you want to see the main art pieces, sculptures and some history you will need a full day. If you want to know the Louvre, you will need a week. It is chaotic in some parts, not perfectly organized and laid out, makes it very easy to get lost (right wing 1'st and 2'nd floor are weirdly laid out in my honest opinion).

So big- so much to see so don’t expect to see everything in a day. Stunning art- if you want to see the Mona Lisa, go early in the morning before the queues get extremely long. Also because of covid restrictions there is a one way system in some places making getting around a bit more tricky, so maybe plan what you want to see before you go if you have specific things in mind. Its a must see museum in the heart of Paris, that is just a dream for art lovers. Only downside is the crowds of people.

Absolutely fantastic place for art lovers. Extremely crowded with tourists of course and it will take many hours (if not days) if you want to check all departments. Goes without saying that it is a must if you are in Paris. Mona Lisa painting is well worth the waiting line.

(Translated by Google) I was also in the Louvre-Abu Dhabi. I think both Louvre's are very beautiful and interesting. There are very beautiful pictures and the museum itself (walls, ceilings, the floor) are very beautiful and elegantly built. I still think Mona Lisa is funny, because the painting was smaller than I imagined. You have to queue in front of the painting Mona Lisa. Everyone then has a short time to look at the painting without anyone in front of them. ! Tip: on the 1st Sunday of every month, evening entry to the Louvre is free (was January 4th, 2020). !Tipp: an jedem 1.

What a place... A gem on the map of art connoisseurs. The paintings the museum has in its collection are amazing. The price for the tour is amazingly low. The tour on Thursday went very smoothly - we bought the tickets online, which allowed us to avoid the queue. Perhaps it will be harder on the weekend.

The Louvre is easily the nicest museum I ever saw. It’s so big! I recommend you plan a whole day to visit this museum. Also before you visit you should choose a wing where you want to look at the art. Because you can’t see everything in there

Absolutely stunning. Easy to see why the Louvre holds the title of one of the best museums in the world! From the entrance to every side and loops in the museum everything is meticulously kept and catered to an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a museum buff or just like causally strolling and looking at majestic art and artefacts I think the Louvre really has it all. Great pieces of ancient treasures to the wonderful decadence that is the old palace of kings, it really is all a marvel and a spectacle that is a must see in Paris. I would recommend multiple days to take in all it's glory but a must see at least once if not.

So we got here and let me tell you that if you don’t want to wait in line the get your tickets online. Now you will still have a little wait but it is better then the other. My advice get there early go see the art you want to see then take a break at one of the cafes inside then take your time seeing the other beautiful pieces of art. If you want to see the Mona Lisa make sure you go straight there there will be a line to see it

Absolutely gorgeous all around. It’s very big and informative, and could be overwhelming too. It was challenging to have a baby on a stroller to tour here as no ramp anywhere. Other elevator/lift is a bit hard to find, but still accessible to be fair. I would recommend to either have a whole day to tour around here or you get yourself a guide who can actually tell you stories about everything you see in Louvre. I am here mainly for the photos, so it is totally worth it.

Visiting the Louvre was truly an amazing experience. The museum is home to some of the most renowned artworks and historical artifacts in the world, and I was in awe of the sheer beauty and cultural significance that surrounded me. From iconic masterpieces like the Mona Lisa to ancient Egyptian sculptures, the Louvre offers an incredible collection that spans centuries of human creativity. However, one challenge I encountered during my visit was the overwhelming crowd. The Louvre is undoubtedly a popular tourist attraction, and it attracts visitors from all over the globe. As a result, certain areas of the museum can become quite crowded, making it a bit challenging to fully appreciate the artworks in a peaceful and relaxed manner. Nonetheless, despite the crowds, the Louvre remains a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and history buffs. The grandeur of the museum's architecture itself is worth admiring, and the vastness of its collection ensures that there is something to captivate every visitor. To make the most of your visit, I would recommend arriving early in the day or considering a weekday visit to avoid the peak tourist hours. Overall, the Louvre offers an extraordinary journey through art and history, and even with the crowds, the experience is still incredibly enriching. Standing face-to-face with iconic masterpieces is a humbling and awe-inspiring encounter that I will cherish forever. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend exploring the Louvre and immersing yourself in the world of art and culture it has to offer.

The museum was absolutely amazing. One can spend more than a day exploring it and still have an interest to do so. It’s really big and really crowded, so avoid going later than 12pm in the morning, as you might not be able to have fun. When it has to do with the Mona Lisa, while it is a really good experience to see it, you might have to wait more than half an hour to see it, especially at peak times.

Very big and famous place in the capital of France, Paris. The museum inside is huge, as the amount of varieties and number of art artefacts... We purchased our tickets online (apparently people under 25, EU citizens get tickets free of charge) and joined the queue 15 minutes before our slot. Even though the queue was quite long, it went very quick. Great organization! Once inside, everything is well organized with information desks and the opportunity to get yourself some Nintendo guides. I have never seen such amazing guides and you just got to pay 5€ (no need to order in advance). This device always knows your location and will give you information about the art based where you are located. Absolutely incredible! The louvre itself, the building, the rooms, are absolutely amazing. I have no words for the beauty and the size of it. We have totally underestimated the time we would spend in the louvre. We arrived at 12 and started right at the 2nd floor as it was less busy. I guess everyone starts at the bottom first and gets tired by the time walking up? In any case, I would recommend at least (!!!) 3 hours. This must have been the most amazing museum I have been to. I absolutely loved it - 100/10.

Beautiful museum! It was busy on a Friday night but I know the lines are usually longer. The website said they closed at 9:45 but they start asking people to leave at 9:20. So I wouldn't recommend getting the 8:30pm tickets since there would not be enough time to see anything.

Sculpture and art from three thousand years ago right up through today in an expansive edifice modified to enhance your experience. This is the quintessential art museum in a city of world class art museums. Visiting the Louvre in November, even amidst the Parisian rain, was enchanting. The renowned artworks shone brighter against the atmospheric backdrop, creating a uniquely immersive experience. The smaller crowds allowed for a more intimate exploration, making it a beautiful and memorable time to appreciate the museum's masterpieces. We walked about 40 minutes from this museum. Great experience.

Beautiful! We were a bit concerned whether we would need to stay in the queue for ages, and might not even get in before the closure, but everything was so well organized, we stayed about 10- 15 min only. The museum itself is absolutely massive, whole day is not enough to see even half of that, we will be coming back definitely. Even children enjoyed there. Great experience! P.S. when you walk around, don't forget to look at the ceiling too.

A great place, a must-see in Paris. I recommend buying tickets in advance, and if you're under 26, entry to the museum is free. The Louvre is so much more than the Mona Lisa. This museum has a lot to offer, so you'd better spend a few hours there

Biblical art was absolutely breathtaking, gigantic beautiful pieces which looked magnificent in person. Without a doubt the highlight of the Louvre. The Mona Lisa is, as expected, nothing special, but I highly highly recommend going to see it as the walk there is packed with gorgeous biblical art, and the room it’s in is also filled with this.

We didn't go into the museum as the queue was so long about 4 hours. But walking around taking in the scene was just a wonderful. A beautiful place. The only thing I would say is beware the scammers who claim to be collecting money for charity (deaf and mute) then dictating how much should be donated.

It's such an amazing place. Filled with glorious art and wonderment. The Islamic Art exhibit in the basement was beautiful and further displayed by a fabulous ceiling. The signage to the Mona Lisa was great until the actual room. We couldn't find it! But, the Venus de Milo was splendidly signposted. The lighting and displays were well thought out and the coffee shop wasn't extortionate! All in all, highly recommended. I suggest that British museums take a leaf out from the Louvre and offer a free cloakroom. Splendidly organised. Bakery in the basement, couldn't be any better catered for except, you can not order tea with milk! WARNING! IT IS NOT OPEN ON TUESDAYS!

The Louvre Museum is a must visit if you are in Paris. I didn't quite anticipate how large the museum is! With plenty to do and see and interactive guides available to help you learn about the beautiful pieces of art on display here. When I visited I made use of something called a "Paris Pass" which helped me to get cheaper access to museums (in some cases free entry) and to skip the queue I would highly recommend this as the queue to the Louvre on a normal day can be quite long.

  • 4/5 Ruxandra T. 3 years ago on Google
It's a beautiful place that you'll never have time to cover in one visit. Take some time to get out when you decide to leave, because it's like a labyrinth. Unfortunately, in this pandemics times, although there weren't too many people in the museum and they were wearing masks, no distance was observed. People walk around without caring for getting close to others. For the museum staff, I would suggest some more reminders to visitors that it's dangerous to get so close in crowded place while the virus is out and about.

Huge! Planning needs to be done in advance as it is impossible to see everything in 1 day! In COVID times, tickets need to be booked online. There is a timed entrance but not exit - so earlier times are better. Toilets are not that easy to find in here. Also, some places are just crowded with people - a multi-layered mask is recommended as many people don’t respect social distancing in Paris. It’s a must visit nevertheless and shorter queues now with many of the non-EU tourists out of bounds.

Bought tickets online on the morning of our visit to find the museum closed due to covid-19 upon arrival. Which is fine, but... 1. Why are you still allowing visitors to purchase tickets on your website when you know you are closed? I checked in the afternoon and the website was still selling tickets for that day. 2. No email sent out to visitors advising closure. How hard can that be? 3. Staff standing outside of the entrance charged to explain the situation to visitors were rude and arrogant. 4. Numerous emails requesting refund and patiently waited for 5 months, still haven't heard back. Not even an email. I can understand things are hard because of Covid-19 but after 5 months, i think this is a matter of incompetence. What a joke coming from an internationally acclaimed museum.

I know it's weird writing this review a year after having seen it but honestly it was a bit dull. it was extremely tiring walking through the wall of the Halls. Many of the hyped-up paintings didn't really live up to what they were talked about (the Mona Lisa) and the tour guide we got had a tough time speaking English although I don't really blame her for this. This might just come down to Personal Taste but I didn't fully enjoy my time at the Louvre as much as I could have. I still recommend it though to anyone who really likes art.

Ps.

There are multiple entries and exits, doesn't have a proper way to go through from my experience. I would go through the things which interests.. like Egyptian scriptures... Paintings etc...

I am from Canada and i had very high expectations for the Louvre Museum, it was a childhood dream. The museum is very large, it houses many artifacts from various countries from around the world. I'm glad the price was cheaper than when i wanted to go in February. I expected way more. The line up outside despite purchasing our tickets online, was tolerable. The security was thorough. Insure you have good walking shoes before going.

  • 4/5 Bilal H. 3 years ago on Google
Why not 5 stars you ask? Maybe its because I find fault it most things haha, but this place is a poorly directed maze, although it was easy enough to find the Mona Lisa (of which there was a huge queue to stand in front of it), probably better to just walk around the queue, you’ll still get to see it, unless you’re all about that close up selfie life. Some real nice art work and sculptures, although I’m not too much into it, but it was a nice experience so I’d recommend going. Getting out was tricky, it takes you into a shopping centre where its pot luck which exit you actually take. Go anyway! ;)

  • 5/5 Alexander F. 3 years ago on Google
Expect a lot of people. Masks mandatory. Buy tickets in advance for shorter waiting times. Stunning collection in many different fields. You can spend days here. Expect a long queue to take a picture of Mona Lisa.

The place is huge. Thanks to Covid19 there's an attempt to make the visit unidirectional which can be confusing at times. Obvious must-see with lots of works of great quality beyond the Mona Lisa.

We went 10 years ago inside the Museum and it was excellent. This time we didn't go inside but hung outside after a day of exploring and walking. Really nice area to chill and relax. The "shopping mall" underground is small (we thought we could escape the heatwave but shopping)and they charge 1.50 EUR to use the disgusting bathroom.

Beautiful place, a lot of arts and very diverse. The only note to make is that they could have at least english translations at every exhibit. The more popular ones already have explanations in multiple languages, but the lesser known ones do not, which is disappointing. Service however is great and you get in free under a certain age. The wifi is not very good at all places. The temperature is pleasant everywhere for the area. The staff keeps distance during COVID-19, but the tourists do not, the rules could be more inforced.

The museum is amazing. We were the whole day in Louvre and still you have the impression that you could stay there forever. It's something you definitively should visit when in Paris. Buy your tickets online so you don't have to wait in queues for the entrance. The entrance to the museum is very simple. We waited for about 10 minutes to get through security. My suggestion is to get the Nintendo audio guide when visiting the Museum. It costs only 5 Eur and it helps a lot. The audio guide follows your location and helps to find around the museum. Its something like google maps for Louvre. When we were there Mona Lisa room was not too crowded so we had plenty of time to watch the painting. Do not search for souvenirs in the museum itself, you will have to go outside the museum in the direction of Metro station. There you will find the official Louvre Musem Shops.

Can't really give a bad review for a place with so many art pieces. It's a bit confusing to find a way around though. It seems like the majority of tourists just run to Mona Lisa and queue there to take best picture, which we didn't bother to do, and had a chance to admire other paintings and more in peace. Some of the pieces don't have description in English which is annoying. The building itself looks absolutely amazing from outside and inside as well! Definitely worth visiting for more than just a pic with Mona Lisa ;)

One of the most iconic museum in the world. It holds the Mona Lisa that was painted by Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci. Surprisingly the actual portrait painting was quite small and there was a long line to get an up close view. Lots of other great prominent paintings inside and even found a statue of a sphinx from Egypt. Though I’m not sure how that has to do with french history. And then there was a fortress with walls from a castle sometime ago. The outside architecture was spectacular too with the pyramid shaped buildings and water fountain. The best thing is going to this museum was free!!

  • 5/5 A J. 3 years ago on Google
The Louvre is a must-visit every time you’re in Paris.. the queue to get inside in Covid era was much faster, you reserve online ahead of time. There was a short line to take your pic with Mona Lisa but at least it ensures you can have a nice photo. There is so much to see here, several kilometers worth! And so much more there isn’t even room to display.

Louvre is the national museum and art gallery of France established in 1793, housed in the Louvre Palace in Paris. It is the world's largest art museum. About 38 thousand collections are there. Among them painting ‘Mona Lisa’ is the main attraction of the visitors. Beautiful glass pyramids are there at the entrance. It is the world's most-visited art museum.

NO SELFIE WITH MONA LISA = NO TRIP TO PARIS! Really what a GREAT museum! How can you not give this place 5 stars...yes it's crowded but SO WHAT - the art, the artifacts the history make up for the crowds. This is a must when visiting Paris. I would suggest going early in the morning if you want to try and bet even a little bit of the crowds. Also it takes a full day at a minimum to see even half of this place so just hit the high notes if you don't have time for everything. Plan time for photos by the Pyramid but really the museum itself is the star of the show.

Crowded. It's very crowded, which totally ruined the experience. Also, it's not well organized: There's no one outside organising the lines, staff speaks very limited English, and the maps are often useless. On top of that, it's crowded. It's not possible to enjoy the arts, because there are too many people. And it's crowded. Crowded.

Amazing!

The Louvre is one of the most extravagant museums you cold visit, and everyone in their lifetime should. It is so massive inside, with so many exhibits and pieces of art from human history that it is mind blowing. If you want to try to see it all, it would take a few days, so make sure to plan out your trip ahead of time to see what you want. You can get a map and a guided audio tour headset at the front desk to help you navigate through at your own pace and in your own language. I can't stress how important it is to visit this museum if you are in Paris.

You have to come tick the Box. You’ll see the Mona Lisa and wonder what the hype is about, but you’ve got to see it! But there’s some impressive stuff to see here. Above ground the surrounding buildings are beautiful, a great place to kill some time. Great for people watching, you can laugh at the hordes taking photos with the Louvre Pyramid under their finger.

I’m not massively into art but this stunning museum is a must see. The art collections in the Louvre are some of the best in the world such as Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo masterpiece, Da Vinci exhibits and so much more. FYI, lots of people trying to sell something outside museum such as key chain etc just ignore them if you are not interested. Keep your purse close and be aware with your belonging.

The best art museum in the world. The Mona Lisa may be on your bucket list, but please do yourself a favor and see the rest of the museum. There are many paintings that are breathtaking that do not get the attention because of the "Photo Op" paintings. Contrary to what I read, I did not have to wait in a long line. The Louvre is very easy to get to by Metro and easy to navigate. I'm American and it was my first time in Paris. I can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely awesome considering the amount of space each civilization is covered . You would need atleast 5 hours to go around the whole museum . So plan your trip early. I had to carry strollers sometimes as the elevators are not always accessible nearby . It had steps again to reach elevator . Perhaps they could build a slope in some areas .

The Louvre Museum, is the largest art museum in the world and a historic monument in Paris, France. There are no definite words of the perfection that is the Louvre Museum! An important tip: buy the ticket in advance, to avoid queues. One day a week the museum is open late and a good opportunity for a leisurely visit. A central landmark of the city, it is located on the bank of the River Seine, in the 1st arrondissement. Approximately 38 thousand objects, from prehistory to the 21st century, an area of 72,735 square meters is reduced. In 2017, the Louvre was the most visited art museum in the world, receiving 8.1 million visitors.

Fantastic, a huge variety of works by different artists from all over the world, the organization is incredible, while you make the visit or even notice the time passing, there are hours of walking through the corridors of the museum without realizing that it is already closing, for a visit in the main works one day is enough but it gets tight, ideal and do it in more than one day. Worth the visit. I recommend.

It was terrible and disasterous, no English explanation, the employees did not speak English good enough, this museum belongs to the whole humanity and not just France, and as far as eveeyone is concerned, English is the dominant international language, thus, it should be at least along with FRENCH EXPLANATION offered bij the tablets and plates, again it was significantly disappointing, it was a waste of time and money

Now a museum housing the world’s most famous painting, but also, in its time, a fortress, a palace, and a storehouse of stolen treasure. Located on the banks of the River Seine in Paris, the Louvre attracts over 8 million visitors a year, who come to marvel at its fabulous collection of art and antiquities. It began its existence as a fortress built in the 1190s by Philippe-Auguste, King of France, from 1180 to 1223, and became a royal residence in the 14th century, before François I (r.1515–1547) decided to rebuild it as a magnificent Renaissance palace. François invited Leonardo da Vinci to come to France, and the artist brought the Mona Lisa with him. François’ palace was designed by Pierre Lescot (c.1515–1578), with superb bas-reliefs by Jean Goujon (c.1510–1568). Later monarchs left their own mark on the place, the finest addition perhaps being Claude Perrault’s elegant, Classical colonnade, commissioned by Louis XIV and built in 1667–1673. His extremely original design was chosen from a competition held in 1664. A museum of art. French rulers kept their private art collections in the Louvre, but it was only in 1793 that its doors were opened to the public. It was renamed the Musée Napoléon in 1803, when Bonaparte used it to display the artworks he had looted during his campaigns. Most of these were later returned, but the collection and the visiting crowds continue to multiply, so the Louvre itself has been expanded in recent times. The Louvre Pyramid. In the 1980s, President Mitterrand initiated his “Grand Louvre” project, an ambitious scheme to renovate the museum. Its most spectacular component was the steel and glass Pyramid in the Cour Napoléon. Designed by the Chinese American architect I. M. Pei (1917–2019), it forms the main entrance to the museum.

(Translated by Google) The Louvre Museum (in French Musée du Louvre / myze dy luvʁ / ( listen)) is the national museum of France dedicated to fine arts as well as archeology and decorative arts prior to Impressionism. It is located in Paris, the capital of the country, in the former royal palace of the Louvre. Its extensive collections are the result of collecting developed by the French monarchy over several centuries, to which was added the efforts of various personalities of the Enlightenment, the disentailment work of the French Revolution, the military victories during the Napoleonic wars, and the archaeological campaigns and purchases promoted during the 19th century. On its 210,000 m², some 487,000 works are exhibited, of which 7,000 are paintings, and about 380,000 objects and antiques. The opening of the Louvre in 1793 meant, within the history of museums, the transfer of the private collections of the ruling classes (monarchy, aristocracy and Church) to publicly owned galleries for the enjoyment of society as a whole. [3] This made it a precedent and model for various museums. [4] In its architectural and decorative modifications, multiple artists have intervened over several centuries, from Claude Perrault and the painters Simon Vouet and Charles Le Brun in the seventeenth century to Delacroix and Georges Braque, who painted some of its ceilings. [5] The Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world, [6] famous for its masterpieces, especially the Renaissance painting known as La Gioconda by Leonardo da Vinci. [7] Other outstanding pieces were selected in 2020 by the museum itself under the title "24 essential works". The list includes, in addition to the aforementioned painting, works such as the Code of Hammurabi, The Seated Scribe, The Consecration of Napoleon, The Coronation of the Virgin, Liberty Leading the People, among others. [8] According to a chronological ordering of the national collections, the Louvre displays works of art prior to 1848. Almost all the works of the late 19th century, from realism (Courbet) to impressionism and Toulouse-Lautrec, were transferred to the Musée d'Orsay , and modern and contemporary art is exhibited at the Pompidou Center. Additionally, the institution promotes two sub-branches, in Lens (France) and in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).

A coleção é dividida em oito departamentos curatoriais: antiguidades egípcias; antiguidades do Oriente Próximo; antiguidades gregas, etruscas e romanas; arte islâmica; esculturas; artes decorativas; pinturas; impressões e desenhos.

Originally a medieval fortress on the right bank of the Seine – in the city’s 1st arrondissement – the Louvre protected the French capital during the reign of King Philippe Auguste (1190-1202). It wasn’t until the second half of the 14th century that King Charles V made it his home, and the Louvre Palace was born. Following the fall of the French monarchy the building’s purpose changed once again to become home to thousands of pieces of the nation’s art collection, back in 1793. Extensive Collections The Louvre is home to items spanning a period of nearly 5,000 years, from ancient cultures (Oriental, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman) as well as Western and Islamic civilisations. Europe’s largest museum immerses its visitors in 460 000 works from around the world, including some major emblems of World Heritage such as the Venus de Milo, the Mona Lisa or the Eugène Delacroix painting, “La liberté guidant le peuple” ("Liberty Leading the People”). With 210,000 m2 including 60,600 m2 of galleries the Louvre hosts a wide variety of artworks: paintings, sculptures, sketches, ceramics, and archaeological artefacts amongst others. In fact, there’s so much to see that it would take at least 3 days to experience all that the Louvre has to offer. Visits Whether alone, or in a group, there’s more than one way to explore the museum's collections; multimedia guides for adults and children ensure a more interactive experience. For groups, let one of the specialist Louvre guides take you through the halls and galleries. Getting there By metro: Line 1 - Metro Stop Palais-Royal/Musée du Louvre By bus: bus n° 21,24,27,39,48,68,69,72,81,95 Paris l'Open Tour: bus stop opposite the Pyramid Velib stops near the museum: n°1015 : 2 place A. Nunca mais visitei nenhum monumento que me deslumbrasse tanto, pelo acervo histórico que possui, em termos de variedade, qualidade, raridade e beleza. Nada do que se diz de positivo acerca deste museu se aproxima da realidade. Só tenho pena que tanta riqueza histórica, tantos artefactos e obras de arte tenham sido deslocados do país de origem. Beautiful inside and out. Good maps and signs and a good queue for viewing the Mona Lisa. Not too crowded. You can barely see the most famous items in one day. Loved the rooms and ceilings too! Included a picture from Napolean III apartment upstairs.

You could spend a lifetime here and feel like there's more to discover. I've been multiple times and yet I feel I have seen nothing of the entire collection. If you ever only visit I've museum, let it be the Louvre.

  • 5/5 Anastasia T. 2 years ago on Google
Well you have to see it for yourself. I recommend coming as early as you can. Also according to google Sunday is the least busy day for this place. But don’t expect it not to be crowded. It will be from the moment they will start letting people in. And be ready to walk for quite a while because it is huge

Wake up early and get there at least half an hour beforehand. We booked the 9 am slot and arrived at 8:30. Everything went smoothly and we didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes in line for Mona Lisa.

Beautiful museum but too crowded and thats now in covid times. And what going on with the AC there, most of the museum is so hot that you sweat all the time and only in little parts you can feel a bit of cool air from the AC, we are in 2021 so please its time to open the AC for the visitors

You’d get the usual 5 if you’d bring back some of your interior food venues. It’s difficult to get a break to drink/eat and find one’s way back to the superior displays. As with London’s Natural History Museum, the Louvre could be empty of art and the building itself would suffice as a stunning architectural wonder.

Must-visit. If you are going to Paris anywhere near Louvre, you should go! It is an amazing experience! I am not a fan of museums really but this was quite interesting! There were tons of things to see here and the food was amazing.

Very clean and very nice but toooooo big. For under 26 years old is for free. Tips: 1- eat well before you go there because you will take a long time there. 2- be ready to smoke your last cigarette before you go in because it will be your last one for approximately 5 hours. 3- wear your most comfortable shoes. 4- there are lockers to put your stuff there for free, use it. 5- take a map and plan well where you want to start and where you want to go. 6- don‘t leave a floor until you saw all of it. 7- follow the numbers written on the walls and on your map.

Might be the most beautiful museum in Europe. It’s luxurious, impressive and diverse , a path that connects people with our world ‘s history. Absolutely easy access either drop off on Louvre museum metro station or Pyramides station( having a little walk in a splendid neighbourhood). MUST DO while in Paris , better book the ticket online to avoid the long queue and get priority. You need at least 2 hours but it is definitely worth it.

  • 5/5 Milo R. 2 years ago on Google

So many interesting artworks to see. Few hours isn't enough to see the whole Museum. It is indeed the largest Museum in the world. Just a heads up, if you wish to take a closer look of photo of Mona Lisa, be ready to wait for hours as there's always a very long line towards her portrait.

Even better during COVID ( much less crowded) Breath taking pieces of art and the building itself outstanding

  • 5/5 T R. 2 years ago on Google
One of 3 or 4 “super galleries” that house (or reflect upon) some of the best things we have accomplished in history. Don’t expect to see it all in a month… nobody is that ambitious. Huge crowds gather around a fulled encased Mona Lisa. Many don’t notice a few pretty amazing paintings on the way through. This is the super gallery. Breathtaking.

  • 5/5 Keith B. 2 years ago on Google
Today we visited the Louvre. It’s really big! Lots of photos again; I tried to capture the amazing diversity of art as well as the impressive ambiance of the building/environment. Of course The Mona Lisa dominates the attention.

  • 5/5 Ashley Q. 2 years ago on Google
This was my second visit and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The Louvre is one of those great museums you could visit every day and never be bored of. Walking through the building itself is half the pleasure; I particularly enjoyed the gorgeous ceilings and the basement area that showcases remnants of older iterations of the palace.

  • 5/5 Stela M. 2 years ago on Google
We were here in September 2021. An impressive place. The museum is very big and you need at least one day to visit it and to enjoy all its beauties.

  • 3/5 Runa G. 2 years ago on Google
The Louvre is constructed in quite a confusing way: First you get in through the glass building that looks like a pyramid, then you go through a security check. After that you walk a bit down the building and end up in a big hall. Behind the information counters you can finally buy a ticket. After that you head back into the big hall, take the stairs up and go through the ticket check line. Now you’re in the Louvre. But wait! There isn’t any “right” way to walk the Louvre even though there’s lots of arrows pointing in all kinds of directions, they don’t have a designated route planned out which it quite stressful for some neurodivergent people. I got such immense headaches as well because the air circulation is really bad and the temperature is rather high in there. It does offer some astonishing sculptures and paintings but they weren’t as exciting as I thought them to be. Still, since I got in for free (I’m under 26 and Citizen of the European Union) I think it was worth the visit. I wouldn’t go there again, though.

Such a great place to visit when you go to Paris. Actually that the first place I visted when I was arrived on the city, and I’m not disappointed at all, the quality of the expositions, the museum’s works are so varied and striking, that’s pretty impressive. No more words just go there !

It's obviously the most important museum in the world and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to visit it. It's unbelievable the level of dedication that all the great masters that created these masterpieces put in their words back in the time. A few negatives are that there's no clear signs of where the exits are, nor the restrooms. All of this as of November 2021 Deserves 5 stars anyways.

  • 5/5 Frank C. 2 years ago on Google
Of course this is a 5 star attraction, most likely the best museum in the world. Just to see the highlights you will need a full day. There is more than one restaurant so no need to pack a lunch. It is advisable to plan your attack of action before entering so you can maximize your visit.

One of the most famous attractions in Paris, LOUVRE Museum is a huge property to explore. . Very well maintained, the paintings, statues, the architecture give an insight to the history of France. . Be prepared for long walks within the spot as u need an ample amount of time to explore all. MONA LISA had a separate waiting line so you need to keep waiting time on mind depending on the time you visit. . There are a lot of cafes inside, shopping spots & more so there's a lot to check out on. Directions were a little misleading & not well guided. Great place for Art Lovers.

If you don’t want to wait in line for too long to see Mona Lisa , get museum ticket ahead of time, and plan to visit Mona Lisa at beginning or end of the day. We arrived at museum at 4:30pm and had to rush to the Mona Lisa line, we waited for 27 mins before we get up close to take photos. Which is really quick, but we have to rush in the museum since they close off sections of museum at end of the day. As of Oct 2021, you will be required to show COVID pass and wear mask during the visit - even at taking photos.

Be prepared to walk, a lot, we walked 9km inside louvre, for about 4 hours, and didn’t see everything, it’s huge… Also be prepared for lines… even to see Monalisa has it’s own line… The apartment of Napoleon III is so beautiful

  • 4/5 Cristi T. 2 years ago on Google
The navigation is a bit hard, even with the map and room numbers but that's mainly because of the size of the place. The lack of English translation in most of the sections and important passages considering that is the most visited museum makes things difficult since a lot of the exhibits don't have a audio guide. The Greek part and the French painting section is a bit lacking, but in general, very well curated.

  • 5/5 Wally T. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely need a few days to see it all. Tickets were $17 per person. Wear very comfortable shoes and a gaiter if you have one. Masks must be on at all times. We did sneak a few pics with our masks off. The Egyptian exhibition was our favorite. There is a long line for the Mona Lisa but worth the wait for a picture. It was about 15 min on a busy Saturday. You will need the map if you a looking for specific exhibitions so you're not going in circles. There is little cafe inside as well before you get to the exhibition. Enjoy!

It’s one of the must visit museums in the world. Louvre is must visit but be careful there. Also buy your ticket online from the office website better that stands in the long line. Cross the street you will find the HopOn buses, and also a very lovely garden, enjoy the walk and the lovely place.

Amazing experience being able to see and learn so many things. I recommend to get the audio package if you do not read French but also because there are so many nice things to hear plus the devices they use have navigation systems well. Also, dedicate a full day starting before 10 am if you want to see as much as possible in one visit. Book the tickets in prior and always select a temporary exhibition to see with your ticket. Last but not least, buy souvenirs from the museum to support it to continue preserving history. I hope you enjoy your time there!

Massive museum filled with so much art from so many eras. It’s easy to get lost in with all the art surrounding you. I really enjoyed the artifacts from the ancient times. it’s a great place! however, it is very overwhelming if you don’t plan. I would recommend looking at their website ahead of time the at the exhibits or pieces you want to see so that you can be more diligent with your time there. we did not prepare and spent hours practically on on floor. we also had other attractions planned soon after our time at the Louvre. I would recommend maybe doing the Louvre when you know you won’t have to be quite rushed through it.

The Mesopotamia section as being my country of origin is the the most interesting part in the Louv. The Louvre is the most-visited museum in the world, with more than 10 million visitors in 2018. The former royal palace is now the magnificent home of some of the world's most iconic artworks (ever hear of the Mona Lisa?). Walking through the halls where Louis XIV once strolled (he lived here before moving to Versailles), surrounded by the most famous art on earth, is an overwhelming experience.

If you are like my and don't really know much about all the masterpieces in the world or in the Louvre, I sincerely recommend renting the audio guides. By far one of the best museums experiences I've ever had. I plan to go back. • 4/5 Nizar I. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a fun place to see with lots of art history but the Mona Lisa is a small painting and a joke. They make a big deal over a little painting while there are many others larger or even small with better quality. But to see it is cool so you can say I saw the Mona Lisa.

  • 5/5 Georgiana G. 2 years ago on Google
We booked our visit online, the entrance process was very smooth. We went as a family, with two teenagers and a toddler. The visit went well. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend visiting with children of all ages, but have a stroller if your child is under 4.

  • 5/5 A S. 2 years ago on Google
You should have seen the Louvre once. It certainly has something for everyone. The facilities are very good, you have a free wardrobe and food options. The museum itself has so many works that you have to reserve a lot of time if you want to see everything. Check out what you want to see beforehand and plan your visit. Otherwise you will walk too much and get lost quickly.

  • 5/5 Jake G. 2 years ago on Google
The Louvre Museum was just as amazing as I thought it would be. It's so big that I only explored about 2 sections and will definitely need to come back a few times. Everything except the Mona Lisa is available for you to view at your leisure, however it is busy so if you're in one spot too long I'm sure others will get annoyed if they are also trying to get a look. The Mona Lisa requires you to stand in a line, and then you are free to take pictures once at the front. Nobody was up long enough that the staff told people to move along though.

What an amazing museum! Probably best to schedule first thing in the morning when there’s lighter traffic inside. The immense collections of paintings (including the Mona Lisa) and sculptures of every era spanning from ancient Egyptians to French revolution is awesome. The history of the Louvre exhibit was well done too. There are plenty of bistros nearby outside the walls of the museum and a couple cafes inside with lite fair and beverages. Bus transport is the easiest if it’s too far to walk from wherever you’re staying.

The Louvre. Not much else to say about this place. Except for go EARLY, if you want photos without people popping in and out. The museum itself is awesome. Get your tickets online before arriving so you don’t line up like Disney to get tickets. Book your ticket with a time slot, to get priority, and arrive on time is important for this museum. You can get to Mona Lisa first to avoid the crowd but the whole museum is worth exploring. Expect to spend 2-3 hours here. The museum is not only a place to display art but it is an art piece as well. So much details and attention went into this place. We had a blast!

  • 4/5 Dan L. 2 years ago on Google

What to say about Le Louvre Muséum. This is a place that you need to visit a least once in a life time but one visit won't give you enough time to see all the treasure that are hidden inside. Please make sure to prepare your visit before going there so you don't waste to much time. Book your ticket in advance. Check which entry you will take because depending the aisle you want to visit you need to go at the proper entry. Enjoy your visit !

An incredible museum that is a must visit. Unlike many landmarks, the louvre lives up to its hype. Its size and scale are incredible. Exterior walls hold dozens and dozens of immaculate statues and carving. Entering through the glass pyramid is unique and iconic, and sets the tone for the rest of the visit. We walked for 4 hours and certainly didn't see everything. Even the tuilerie gardens are at a level above most gardens anywhere else in the world. Visiting the louvre is completely worth your time.

There are cafes nearby to get breakfast before you visit and there is a cafe inside. Seeing the Mona Lisa alone was worth the visit. There is plenty of art on show from many amazing artists. The building itself is a piece of art. There are Greek, Roman, Egyptian and French displays plus many many more. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Paris. First and foremost, it’s definitely a must see if you are in Paris! So much history and culture to take in, can easily spend a day in the Louvre! If you are planning to visit, highly recommend buying a ticket well in advance, they do run out quickly, this happened to us as we only checked two days before the day we wanted to visit. If you do not manage to get a ticket, get there early, we go there by 7:45 on the day we visited (a Sunday) and people were just turning up to form a queue. The first entry for on the day tickets are allowed only at 9:30, so it’s a long wait, but it’s nice in the morning specially in summer days. By 9:30 there were few hundred people in the queue, and we checked the queue later in the day and it was still very long and in the hot sun, which didn’t look great. Once in its amazing, lots to see! Would definitely recommend the Egyptian exhibit split across two floors! And the exhibit in mummification was amazing! We spent about 4 hours inside, and still didn’t cover everything, but we couldn’t stand on our legs by then. We got the audio guide, which you can get while buying the ticket. It’s not the most intuitive thing to operate, but found it was very useful to learn the history, so I’d say it’s definitely worth getting one. Food options inside aren’t great, and also quite crowded, so best to pack some snacks and not be in there for a meal. Although you can’t go back in if you leave, so might be best to plan a morning or a afternoon visit. Overall an amazing experience, highly recommend paying a visit!

Amazing museum, but be prepared to spend all day (if not several days) exploring the vast collection. The highlights for me were the Greek Sculptures and the French Art. Also buy your tickets in advance and check for room closures on specific days of the week if you are dead set on visiting a certain part of the museum, we missed seeing the Egyptian wing because it was closed on the day we visited.

Many years ago I visited this museum and I remember it was possible to walk in front of the Mona Lisa painting and to take a picture of it. Today I see and hear that it is an impossible thing due to the massive number of tourists. This was a reason I only visited the park of the pyramids and enjoyed the nice weather and observed the people.

Really beautiful building beautiful prices of art. But I think people are really going there for the Mona Lisa. The piece is beautiful but the line and security to get in is really uncontrolled and your only a certain amount of pictures. And I thought everything was really spaced out. But again beautiful building. If your in Paris GO.

We had tickets around eleven, but the day we were scheduled the president stopped at the louvre, and they had to move our tickets to three. So we could not get through everything in the now short time, as thirty minutes were spent in the queue and checking in, but once we were in, it was packed, but you could still look at all of the art with ease. The queue to the Mona Lisa was about an hour. Still very worth it.

Beautiful museum with 35000 exhibits. Ticket purchase online with reservation euro17 and buy at site euro15 . We didn’t buy ticket online but still very smooth. Audio guide machine is euro 5.

A wonderful place for those who love history and art. I advise you to visit in two days, because the museum is very large and therefore it is very tiring to see everything in one day! 2 days is perfect to see everything.

  • 5/5 VK 8 months ago on Google
Please buy your tickets online! We did not get to see the museum because the wait was 2 hours. As this is an international tourist attraction, it is a very busy place. You will have to wait to take a picture in front of the Luvre, there is always someone to photo bomb your pic.

It was great! I suggest going to see the statues. It has beautiful lighting and very many statues! Be aware that you won't be able to see each part of the Louvre Museum, you can only see so much because of how large the building is.

  • 5/5 Zvikomborero k. 7 months ago on Google
It was my best museum experience by far. There is just too much to see. Because of the size of the museum, you will need more than a day to go through it. If you are short on time, it's best to plan in advance which wings you really want to visit. Movement was easy, except in the Mona Lisa room.

  • 5/5 Oriental B. 7 months ago on Google
Considering it was the biggest and most visited museum in the entire world, it definitely was not a let down. Such a vast history and expansive museum should be visited more than once as it is very difficult to see everything without getting tired of standing all day. I will definitely return to the Louvre!

  • 5/5 Minh V. 7 months ago on Google
Ginormous museum full of breathtaking paintings and sculptures. Be prepared to spend the whole day there if you want to walk around the whole museum. The garden of sculpture is a must-see. Second floor has a little cafe with seatings on the balcony that offer beautiful views of the outside of the museum. The line is a bit long but worth the wait.

  • 5/5 Deepak S. 6 months ago on Google
Amazing museum. Interesting and interactive. 1 full day required to visit, so ensure you arrive early. The museum starts getting closed at 17:30. Tip: start the museum journey from 1st floor, otherwise you won’t be able to cover all the arts. All the arts are interesting but the best ones are located on the first floor. Audio guide is strongly recommended. Booking tickets in advance is recommended otherwise waste of time in the queue. Food court has McDonald and other options. Parking available - Parks indigo is a great option.

  • 5/5 Mikka F. 6 months ago on Google
Very beautiful museum. Make sure to book your tickets in advance. There is a separate queue for those with and without tickets, so make sure you queue at the right one. There is also a QR code near the entrance for the map which will prove useful. Make sure you know the location of the pieces you want to see to make most of the time, it’s a very big museum!

  • 4/5 Ty L. 7 months ago on Google
The museum was magnificent, lots of history and the line to access was efficient. Mona Lisa was a must, once in a life time view in real person! But overall is a great life experience with the family and friends!

  • 5/5 Iris 6 months ago on Google
It was busy entering the museum but the line was also moving pretty fast and we didn’t expect anything else. But definitely book your ticket online beforehand! The Mona Lisa is super crowded but the rest of the museum is very do-able in terms of people. Beautiful art in a beautiful building. You could spend the entire day there and still not see everything, so take your time to visit the Louvre. Must see in Paris!

  • 4/5 Alan R. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely immense place. A lot of walking and a lot of stairs. The Mona Lisa is very busy, so take an early tour and go directly to the room, or you'll never be able to get near it.

  • 5/5 David S. 6 months ago on Google
We purchased our tickets in advance and for a specific time, so the wait time to get in was about 30 minutes. I don’t know how long it would have taken if we hadn’t purchased tickets in advance, but the ticket lineup was extremely long. Inside the museum was also very busy. There was a lineup to see the Mona Lisa, but that seemed to go fairly quick. There is so much to see in this museum that a one day visit just doesn’t do it justice. I recommend visiting it especially if it’s your first time in Paris.

  • 5/5 Mano J. 6 months ago on Google
Booked online on Friday for Saturday. Got 4 pm time we time slot that was the earliest available. Did the main art attractions from 700 to 720 rooms. We got ushered out from the museum around 5:45 pm...they start to to restrict areas you can see from about 5:45 pm. Better to plan early and get morning time slot. The main attraction is Mona Lisa of course and although crowded can get a good view.

  • 5/5 Willem S. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely a must see, well curated and an incredibly rich set of art and sculptures. The Mona Lisa was hilarious though, so many people trying to get close to see it, in my opinion so many other great pieces worth seeing more.

To anyone visit Paris louvre is one of the must visit museums and take a whole day and check out all three galleries and just get lost in the beauty of art . the best of the best artistic the world painting ,sculpture , artifacts from all around Europe :) absolutely a stunning place a must visit

  • 5/5 Olú A. 6 months ago on Google
I loved the Louvre Museum and it has the free option and the paid option. But are absolutely worth it. You could see the pyramid from outside and the connecting part from inside the mall downstairs the museum. It is accessible, won’t have to wait more than ten minutes. It is a must see in Paris both inside the museum and outside the museum, Paris has a lot to offer

  • 5/5 Alex N. 5 months ago on Google
It's as amazing as it looks on TV, movies, etc. And then some. Priceless works of art adorn each hall, staircase, etc. It's crowded, but not overwhelming. Everyone should visit here at least once in their lifetime and see for themselves.

  • 5/5 Jen F. 5 months ago on Google
Lots to see in the museum. I would recommend buying your ticket online ahead of time so you can skip the long queue. If you want to see all of the exhibits, you should spend at least half a day. If you visit in the morning when they open, I suggest you go straight to the Mona Lisa painting, and then visit the rest of the exhibits. Definitely worth the visit!

  • 5/5 Aquarius 5 months ago on Google
What a magnificent museum that you can spend at least half day here and still feel you are skipping many things. Highly recommended to book a time slot for no wait. If you miss your time slot, don’t worry, you can still enter, just not through pyramid.

  • 5/5 Nick M. 5 months ago on Google
Unbelievable collection of art, statues and everything! You could spend an entire day here easily! We did a guided tour, which I would recommend. Take the early tour so you can just walk around after the guided tour!

  • 5/5 Samuel D. 5 months ago on Google
Was not aware how much and just how big the Louvre was. I enjoyed the sections on ancient history as well as the history of the building itself. Well worth a visit or two depending on you interests. It’s that big that you will need more than one visit to see everything

  • 5/5 Jay 5 months ago on Google
Incredible amount of artwork and artifacts, almost overwhelming. Lots of walking in a massive puzzle of a place to see some of the most amazing things. Beware of kids getting tired and bring some water to drink. There are toilets scattered around if needed but somewhat hard for us to find. I would recommend going at least once!

  • 5/5 Horace L. 5 months ago on Google
A wonderful place to experience historical art. Not a lot of modern art but is one of the best places for classical famous pieces. Make sure to book a week early to ensure a spot and book of the whole day as there is a lot to see! Very well organized and fitting of its title as one of the best museums in the world.

  • 4/5 Tabra 5 months ago on Google
It seems that people want to see only the famous Mona Lisa. It was almost impossible to see anything in this room because of the crowd. There are lots of exciting exhibitions in other halls as well. Luckily, there weren't that many people.

  • 5/5 Todd J. 5 months ago on Google
What an Amazing Museum, from the Mummy and Mona Lisa to the Sculptures and Statues, this place has it all. We needed a week to go through it but only had a few hours. We will be back!

  • 5/5 Sayandip C. 4 months ago on Google
Arguably the best museum in the world. Famous paintings, timeless artifacts, and proof of French glory. The paintings and walls are bound to make you awestruck. It's just so good. It would be a wise decision to cover the whole museum in 3- 4 days. Enjoy the pictures.

  • 5/5 Los N. 4 months ago on Google
Obviously a place you have to make time to visit during your stay in Paris. There's so much to see so you want to make sure you have enough time. They were exhibiting Napoleons apartment when we went and it was just beautiful. Make sure to prebook tickets. P.S. there's a metro that arrives at the Louvre shopping center. You also must come in the evening just to see it. It’s beautiful.

  • 5/5 PL C. 4 months ago on Google
Best to buy a ticket online to skip the queue you can get your tickets on apps or website like Get Your Guide. We bought tickets which let us skip the queue which saved a lot of time. There’s too many things to cover here in just a day and it will take you approximately 2 months if you want to cover everything given the fact it’s the biggest museum in the world

Louvre Museum is among the top most attraction point where tourists wish to visit for its amazing architecture and the art of history it posses. It's a lovely setting outside with a transparent glass pyramid which becomes a perfect photo opt for those who couldn't get tickets to visit the Museum and feel satisfied that atleast they were there.

We went at night for beautiful pictures without the crowds. The experience is wonderful, There's a person playing the sax in one corridor and another singing and playing the guitar in another. It's romantic and very tranquil. Perfect place to bring a bottle to eat and enjoy your loved ones.

  • 4/5 Belle E. 4 months ago on Google
We came at 9:30. We had no tickets and had to wait outside for 1h and 15 minutes. But, the line "with tickets and timeslot" moved slowly as well, so I'm not quite sure if it's better to buy before or not.. Louvre is huge, really huge.. It's impossible to see everything in one day without rushing. We stayed inside for 5 hours and didn't see more than half of it properly. I really recommend planning in advance what is from more importance to see, and skip the rest, or go for a second day. We liked it, but we would never go there for a second time. Mona Lisa was a surprise, mostly because the painting is really small. At most, we liked the building and the different rooms. Even more than the paintings and sculptures..

The Louvre Museum stands as the epitome of art and culture, rightfully claiming its title as the best museum in the world. Beyond the treasures it houses, the museum building itself is a testament to architectural brilliance. The sheer grandeur of the Louvre is awe-inspiring, captivating visitors from the moment they set foot on its grounds. Situated in a vast area, the Louvre offers a remarkable experience for both casual and dedicated art enthusiasts. A unique aspect is its accessibility—one can swiftly glimpse at the masterpieces during the day. However, for those eager to delve into the intricate details of the exhibits, a more leisurely visit spanning 3-4 days is recommended. The expanse of the Louvre's premises is staggering, demanding a considerable amount of walking—approximately 10 kilometers—to truly absorb the richness of its offerings. Each step is a journey through time and artistic evolution. The enormity of the museum doesn't just lie in its size but in the depth of its collection. Whether you're a casual observer or a devoted art connoisseur, the Louvre Museum promises an unparalleled experience. It's not merely a museum; it's a voyage into the heart of human creativity and expression. Visiting the Louvre is not just a visit to a museum; it's an immersion into a world where every piece tells a story, and every corridor echoes with the whispers of history. Waiting time on weekend is usually 1-2hours Weekday it might be early I don’t know because I went on sunday

People love it. I find it's too big for me to really enjoy. Book your tickets in advance with a tour to the Mona Lisa. You skip the lines, and they take you straight to see her, and then you explore the museum at your own pace. I've been here a number of times and wouldn't do it any other way. Have fun and study up before you go to map out any important artwork you'd like to see. It's beyond massive, so choose what you want to see because it is impossible to see it all.

  • 5/5 Trish B. 4 months ago on Google
Even though everyone says how amazing it is, until you experience it, you can't appreciate the amount of history. Sometimes, the most spectacular part of the room was the ceiling. Well worth a visit!

The biggest museum in the world with many fascinating pieces from all over the world. As the biggest, though, it’s a lot of time on your feet, even if you only explore one section. Decently accessible with many elevators and free for those of us with disabilities.

  • 4/5 Animesh K. 4 months ago on Google
Extremely crowded. Really long waiting lines just to get inside. It can be very tough to stand in line during a hot sunny day. The courtyard is beautiful in itself with all those glass pyramids and a small fountain in the Center. We did not go inside, as it was too much of the waiting. Although the gardens next to it is worth the visit and a good walk.

Fantastic place, lives up to it's name. Sadly, I had little time to look around, so I need to book another visit. Friday nights are free, but you have to book a ticket online in advance and expect a long line. So get there early.

  • 5/5 Varshini V. 3 months ago on Google New
It was a wonderful experience. The architecture was amazing. But though we bought tickets online the crowd was so much that we had to stay in line for more than 30-40 min to enter the museum.

  • 5/5 Baptiste P. 3 months ago on Google New
So amazing! The Louvre museum has an incredible collection of artworks from all periods of history and from all of the world. But it can take 4-5 full days to see everything if you look everything in details like me. So make sure to restrict you to some specific areas of the museum or to stay a lot of time in Paris.

It’s a must visit place in Paris. we went to Louvre when it was raining and it was perfect. Make sure you spare a half day. he was quite busy, what a big place and it easy to go around. I recommend to bring your own drinks.

This place is huge and one of the most visited places on earth. The museum has so much to offer and learn from, so be prepared to spend hours there (one day isn’t enough to explore half of the museum). A beautiful museum with timeless and priceless artifacts, which will leave you awestruck. It’s a must see in Paris. Kindly book your tickets in advance and all roads will lead to the “Mona Lisa”.

Masterpiece of human history and art. Excellent collections of artefacts, paintings, sculptures, architectural elements and art objects by famous or anonymous artists of many different origins and eras. And no two masterpieces are alike! So many works of art to discover in this fabulous museum that used to be a palace! It would take 100 days to see all of the art in the Louvre!

  • 5/5 Tetiana V. 3 months ago on Google New
The Louvre is wonderful, a must-see for a visit. Register online in advance, come with a ticket, buy tickets and an audio guide and enjoy. Everyone will find for themselves something that is really interesting to them. Well, it's over Mona Lisa)

Actually one day is not enough to see everything, it was a wonderful experience and it's amazing! The museum has an incredible collection of artworks from all periods of history and from all of the world. It's really worth it.

  • 5/5 Victoria H. 3 months ago on Google New
Huge museum. It is a good idea to have a plan of things to see in advance. It is very easy to get lost and miss the "important" things. The navigation in the museum is horrendous, really difficult to understand where you are and where you need to go. Be ready to queue at the entrance even if you purchased your tickets in advance!

  • 4/5 Tanya Du p. 3 months ago on Google New
Had a fantastic experience at the Louvre. The sheer size of the museum is mind boggling! Loved the different wings of Egyptian, Roman art etc. Bathrooms were kept clean, sufficient coffee shops and benches to rest. Loved the section on Napoleon as well as the Wings of Victory. Recommend to go early as the crowds start coming after 10am.

  • 5/5 Panagiotis M. 3 months ago on Google New
We have booked our tickets for the first time slot at 09:00 and we managed to see most of the art pieces with little crowd in front of us. While the time passed the museum started to get very crowded and the lines for the famous paintings was very long. You have to be prepared, remember to take the information map from the information desk at the entrance and leave your stuff at the lockers because the museum is endless.

  • 5/5 Col D. 2 months ago on Google New
Well worth booking your tickets in advance. Beware of dodgy beggars in the grounds outside. I'd suggest getting there for one of the earlier time slots and try see the main attractions before it gets really busy later on.
