Villa de Soledad is an amazing Guesthouse. John, the owner and his wife Soledad are great hosts and make you feel very welcome. The house I gorgeous and quiet. John speaks perfect English and is super helpful with activities and trips. He is an expert when it comes to tourism in Honduras and gave us great tips and information where else to go and what else to do in the country. We enjoyed our stay very much and would absolutely recommend this place.

With our party of 5 we stayed 3 nights at this fabulous bed and breakfast. It felt very homey as the family is living here as well. We made use of the same outdoor living area as the owner John. When we arrived in the evening there was a power outage but they were welcoming with candles and even prepared a wonderful dinner for us. Who doesn't want to have a candlelight dinner with the sounds of the rainforest and rain? So appreciated. Johnny helped us with the excursions. We went river rafting and hiking. Both are recommended! The hike to the waterfall was fabulous. We saw toucans, snakes, tarantulas and lizards. Tasted different plants and even ate termites. Our guide was Ocly. His English was good and above all he was very knowledgeable about the rainforest and definitely had a love for it himself. If hiking to the waterfall, ask for Ocly!!! Thanks a lot for staying at your little gem in the rainforest! Absolutely loved it. The kids are still talking about Ivy and Coco.

Fantastic place to stay when visiting Pico Bonito. We were travelling as a group of 5 with two children (8 and 10), and stayed three nights. The B&B is fantastic, outdoor space is great and kids could run around by themselves exploring the very large garden. The large room are spacious enough for a family with two small kids. Great way to spend the afternoon laying in the hammock watching the hummingbirds eat. We loved it - would absolutely come back. Excursions: the Johni/John will help organize excursions on a day by day basis. We did rafting, hiking, and viisting the Cacao lagoon - all three activities very nice with guides that could speak good english. Food: breakfast was very good and large; fruits, eggs, bread, juices, coffee, etc.. We had dinner there three nights, every night something slightly different but every time very good. We really enjoyed the food here, quality is better than out on the islands. Drinking water is available, you can refill your reusable bottles. Driving: the road in is bumpy and slow, don't underestimate the time it takes in case you are coming from SPS - we arrived in darkness. Safety: we felt very safe in the area, no concerns at all.

This place feels like you are transported into a beautiful oasis. It is a family run hotel and you immediately feel like an extension of their family once you arrive. Very warm and welcoming staff, extremely clean and an Amazing open view of gorgeous flowers and fauna when you are in the main area which is open to surrounding gardens. A spectacular place to unwind and let yourself relax. John, his wife Soledad and their extended family that work there are just such warm and wonderful people. If you want a quiet and stunning sanctuary in nature to lay in a hammock and disconnect from the busy world, this is your place! However If you want more of a party vibe and to meet a bunch of vagabond travellers, this is not the place for you and Omega Tours is probably a better fit. John was an excellent communicator on WhatsApp and is fluent in English. Logistics: it is about 10 minute drive from La Ceiba. Once there, it is a very short walk to a stunning part on the river to swim (I swam there every day for 3 days) and walkable to a hiking trail in Pico Bonito National Park. Please note this place is a bit off the beaten path (as are all the hotels along Rio Cangrejal) so It is not walkable to grocery stores or La Ceiba. It is safe to walk and bike along the road though. I walked, hiked, swam and biked as a solo female and felt safe. This hotel provides a beautiful breakfast (included in price) and then delicious dinner on request for extra but does not have snacks/food on site during the day for you. However, they let me store some leftover food in their fridge because they were so lovely. There is another Eco Lodge Omega Tours that is about a 10 minute walk that has a full restaurant that is open all day. This hotel have unlimited filtered water and although I didn’t ask as I was out during the days hiking and biking, I know they would provide you with non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks during the day time. When my friend and I arrived they gave us complimentary freshly squeezed fruit juice and bought a birthday cake for my friend on short notice! I almost don’t want to review this place to keep it my secret but it is a wonderful place that I just can’t keep to myself.

This Bed & Breakfast is really nice! But even better is the staff. From Yani the driver to Soledad the cook and John! This place is remote and tranquil! I love the birds including the many Keel-billed Toucans and Acari that fly by every day! And the breakfast is amazing 👏 😋. From the coffee ☕️ and tea to the fresh fruit and hot meals. We'll, just see my pictures for the rest!

Unexpected gem of the Río Cangrejal valley. John and Soledad were wonderful. Their property is amazing. We very much enjoyed our two nights with them. We hiked the trails and played in the river. We'll be back. Thanks!

Serenity within paradise. Combine that with wonderful hosts that embody attentiveness, delectible food, and comfort, and you have Villa de Soledad. Soledad herself pepares the meals with her home grown amazing spices, do not miss out on her passion fruit juice. I'll miss that one the most. Johnny himself, the main gardener, harvested the pepper spice that morning. John, our host, was a font of knowledge. Not only of the must see views and adventures nearby, but also ás a wise historian ready to share the most exciting stories. Their entire staff is family and their dedication to maintaining this stunning property shows. We're thankful for the care, luxury, and attention they provided during our stay, but most importantly for sharing their garden of eden with us.

Villa Soledad is a beautiful and cosy house with sweet and super helpful hosts. They offer tasty home-cooked and hearty meals. Very close to the Pico Bonito park entrance, short walk from another restaurant. You can hear the river and have a great view on the mountains, very peaceful! We loved it here :)

Our stay at Villa de Soledad was nothing short of incredible. The location was absolutely stunning and the hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and comfortable. John and Soledad were both extremely kind and helpful to us when it came to recommending experiences/restaurants, and they helped to make our stay wonderful from start to finish. Soledad is an incredible cook and made us some of the best meals we had throughout our entire trip in Honduras. John is so personable and kind and my partner and I both really enjoyed our chats with him. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we would go back in a heartbeat!

This place has it all - beautiful surroundings and wonderful landscape, a relaxed vibe and hammocks that allow you to watch the wildlife, great positioning in relationship to Pico Bonito activities, wonderful team and delicious food. Have spent the best week there, highly recomended!

What an amazing place! Owned by a husband and wife and worked by their friends and family I felt like I was staying with close friends by the time I left. John - the aforementioned husband - speaks fluent English. He is very thoughtful and generous and really jumped through hoops to make our stay amazing. The eponymous Soledad is also a gem. She doesn’t speak English ( but I suspect she understands it well enough) cooked all our meals with her team of what I believe were her daughters and other family. The meals were delicious (the tortillas were especially good!) and Soledad’s team were super responsive to our every request despite the language barrier. The perfect place to come back to after your jungle adventure. (FYI: No AC for those of you who worry about the heat.)

I stayed here in December 2019 and had a spectacular time. I cannot say enough good things about John and Soledad. They immediately made me feel welcome, and John went above and beyond answering my many questions ahead of time and, ultimately, making me feel much more comfortable traveling around Honduras solo. The building and rooms are gorgeous! It is like a beautiful oasis in the jungle. I love how open air the place is so it truly feels as though you're utterly surrounded by nature, yet in an extremely comfortable place. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. I adore how each room has it's own hammock on the porch area, plus lots of other hammocks for use around the property. Breakfasts [and I had two dinners there as well for extra charge] were delicious and very filling. The location is a very close walk to the river where its easy to swim, and less than five minute walk to the start of the trail into Pico Bonito National Park. I would very highly recommend anyone and everyone stay here, even if you have no intention of hiking in the national park. This is truly one of my favourite places I have ever stayed while traveling around the world because of the wonderful hosts and the atmosphere.

Really nice place, spacious, very friendly hosts, and in the heart of a nature reserve, just 20 minutes up a dirt road, do not need 4-wheel drive. The national park nearby is amazing !

Incredible hotel. A must visit location. They have a beautiful home, wonderful service, and they look out for the smallest detail to make your stay perfect. We could not have imagined a prettier place to stay. They have all the amenities and are very hospitable. 100% would love to return.

Very much enjoyed our visit to La Villa de Soledad! What a jungle treasure! So much to compliment: Soledad really enjoys hosting, always a welcoming smile and attention to our needs. Breakfast and dinner were amazingly wonderful, and also beautiful! John, fun to chat with. Very interesting family history (we loved hearing about), great with giving local recommendations, flexible and knowledgeable about the local natural surroundings. I loved listening to the rain, and watching the sun come out. Saw toucans, lots of hummingbirds, frogs, butterflies, etc. Truly magical, and quite the spectacular villa. Make sure you see the view of the villa at night from the road. *Cocoa the dog – major plus!

What a gem of a hotel! Located in the center of Pico Bonito Park, this hotel was our home base for our visit to Pico Benito. The hotel itself was very beautiful, clean, comfortable, and just minutes away from Rio Bonito and the El Bejuco Falls trial head. What made our stay here extra special though was just how kind and welcoming the hosts John and Soledad were. John is a natural people person and went out of his way to accommodate us during our stay. And Soledad is an incredible cook and would prepare a large breakfast spread for us every morning including a large platter of fruits and homemade juices. Also, for an extra charge Soledad can prepare lunch or supper for you and the only regret we had during our entire stay was not getting supper prepared every night because wow, can Soledad ever cook!

We had a wonderful stay in July 2022. The whole family made our stay very memorable but also gave us the right amount of space to enjoy the peaceful location. Very central place, loved that we can walk everywhere and was in the jungle at the same time. Food was great- ended up eating all but one meal here!, beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, accommodated all our needs and more. John suggested things to do and arranged drivers for it. He even came looking for us when we walked to a nearby resturant and it started raining so we could get a lift back. Authentic and genuine, a true gem of a place! Thank you John and family.

It's hard to imagine a more tranquil and relaxing environment than the one La Villa de Soledad offers. Host's John and Soledad are so kind and provide the best advice (and food!) in order for you to enjoy your stay. The villa has a beautiful view of the river with a private parcel of land on it so you can relax in the beautiful fresh water pools. The whole area is very safe and you can walk to do events like white water rafting and a beautiful hike up to the waterfall!

😠 The building is beautiful. However in my experience the service is not good. Check in took over an hour to get to my room. Water was very difficult to get access to. I was able to get water from the security guard. However the front desk staff during the day are not present at night nobody is there...
