The tour at Planeta Cacao was one of The highlights of my trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was about a 45 minute taxi ride from Central PV. They helped call a taxi to bring me back to PV. After a short tour, we began making chocolate! We started by taking the shell off the roasted cacao beans. Then, we ground the beans, and after adding sugar molded them into chocolate bars. This was such an authentic experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I HIGHLY recommend!

We had a lovely tour and chocolate making experience at Planeta Cacao. The garden is pretty and the chocolate is delicious. The staff were very welcoming and also spoke good English, which was great as our Spanish is limited and so it meant we were able to learn about how chocolate is made. When the taxi company didn’t pick up their call, they even drove us to the nearby mega so we could get a ride home.

OK....so I know there are fancier versions of this kind of cacao experience, but this was excellent! The staff are well versed and obviously passionate about the cacao. The "bean to bar" journey was full of information, flavour and fun! I will be taking others to join in this and suggest you check it out!

Early March, I went to this beautiful place for a tour by Laura & Alma. It was very easy to reach by public transport from Sayulita. It was very insightful and enjoyable and I really loved tasting the fresh cacao pulp, making my own cacao and the lovely conversation with the ladies. You can really see a lot of care and love has gone into this place. And the cacao knows this too. The trees are happy there. 😊 Well recommended!! Bring enough cash for the fantastic shop too, with chocolate items and beautiful handmate clothing!

We stopped by here during an excursion with Vallarta Adventures. It was a nice little pit stop and pretty interesting getting to see how chocolate is made.
